Wolves of New Haven, 8

Toby Green, a submissive omega struggling with weight issues, has waited all his life to find his missing half. Seeing every wolf in the New Haven pack happily paired off leaves him out in the cold with few options. He’s about to hand in the towel when he sees Devon Walker walk into his shop. Unmated wolves stay clear of the Walker brothers for a reason, but Toby doesn’t intend to let a little danger get in the way of his happy ending.

Seeing his brother happily mated gives dominant wolf Dev Walker hope he’ll someday find his intended despite his black reputation. When his past comes back to haunt him, Dev finds himself at the crossroads. Is a future with Toby a possibility?

Excerpt:

“Watching me sleep must be boring,” Dev whispered against his ear, making Toby shiver. He flicked his tongue against his mating mark, lazily circling the spot.

“Give me my morning kiss then,” Toby demanded, sighing when Dev sealed his lips with his.

Dev didn’t kiss him gentle. He consumed, nipped, and bit. Toby let his prodding tongue in and sucked down hard. Dev let his lips go, and began a trail of heat down the side of his jaw, the column of his throat, placed a tender kiss on his mating mark, before moving to his collarbones. Toby groaned when Dev licked one nipple. He felt a slight edge of teeth before Dev bit down hard, sending a jolt of pleasure and pain straight to his chest and groin.

Toby cried out. Transferring one hand to hold Toby’s wrists, Dev reached for his shaft while his mouth moved on to mark his other unattended nipple. Toby’s balls drew in tight against his body, and his cock continued to thicken under Dev’s persuasive fingers.

“Fuck.” Toby wanted Dev to mount him right there. Flip him on his fours and ride him hard, but Dev liked to tease and torment. He liked to prolong his pleasure, and drive him to the edge. Leave him breathless, aching, and unable to think later on. Shit. Just thinking about it made Toby horny.

Dev noticed and growled. “I hope you remember the last time you came without my permission.” Toby swallowed. He remembered. Dev lashed his wrists and ankles to the bedpost and went down on him repeatedly until he thought his head would explode from ecstasy.

“I remember.”

“My good little wolf.” Dev locked his gaze with his. Catching sight of the wild shade of wolf-amber there in his eyes, Toby shivered. “You’re mine, little wolf. Mine to do as I please and mine to mark. I want everyone to see my bites on you so they know who you belong to.”

I'm a big fan of this author's world in the 'Wolves of New Haven' series, and especially of the submissive, slightly chubby, unmated characters who all seem to believe that if they stick to this new diet, then they too will find their hunk of a mate. *grins* Why shouldn't Toby believe it? He's seen it happen. Heck, his close friend Sal just mated with one of the notorious Walker brothers. And Toby sure likes eyeing Dev Walker. Toby is stunned when Dev asks him out, but then he believes it to be a joke when Dev stands him up. Furiously Toby goes to Sal and Kal's apartment, only to have Kal let Toby and Sal know that the Walker brothers’ mother, Nancy, is in town. The same woman who abused and neglected them their whole lives. But Kal can't believe it's her, because he and Van found information proving she overdosed years ago. A little fact they didn't bother to tell their baby brother. The brother who took Nancy leaving the hardest. With Toby, Sal, Van, Kal, and Reed riding to help Dev, it doesn't take them long to vanquish their old enemy. And, since Dev got injured pretty badly, it's up to Toby and his wolf to accept the mating and bring their man and wolf back from the brink. It was exciting, I tell you. I had a lot of fun with this installment as I adored Toby and his attitude. Dev was a typical dominant, sexy wolf, who got hit over the head by the amazingness of his mate! A sweet, sexy, fun read.

Great Writing

I have read this entire series and I have enjoyed each and every one of these books. But in my opinion I like this one the very best. Each one has to do with two wolves finding their soul mate and this one isn't any different. This one is about Dev and Toby relationship and all about how they meet and a few things that provoke the jealousy monster. I love the feeling that this book really brought forth different emotions in me. I hope this isn't the last one of this the last book I read from this author.. While reading her books, there is always a smile on my face because I know that even though her characters go through some tough things, no one gives up on the hope of finding their true love.

Dev’s Wolf by author Angelique Voisen is the eight book in the Wolves of New Haven series. This is my first time reading this series. I did not feel lost. I did feel this book was a bit short though. I wished I knew more about the pack, and more about the dynamics of it. So perhaps if you start with the first book, you won’t have that feeling that I do. I also feel this story is very rushed. There is a ton of things inside this short story. MM, Werewolf is my favorite genre. I love the concepts in this book. I like that Toby is not a pretty boy, he is flawed. He thinks he is overweight, and he doubts his own value. Lucky though this shy nerdy guy has a true love that thinks he is just amazing. Dev I really felt the information about him was dumped on me rather than shown. It was like here is his back ground, now let’s go forward now. Again perhaps reading the series from the start helps this, but if this is truly Dev’s love story then I feel it really should be his and more fleshed out than this story was. The chemistry is amazing between Toby and Dev. There is a lot of story in this short book, and if it had been longer I really would have loved it more. As it is it is a good story with sizzling chemistry. I would like to explore more in this world. Hopefully some of the holes will be filled in as we go along.
