Product Description

Yancey Crow Wolf, Elfie Hardesty, and Oliver Ryan had always been the best of friends. But jealousy, desire, and unspoken feelings forced them apart.

When circumstances bring them together again, they set off on a journey across the Lakota Badlands to investigate an ancient Lakota vampire mystery. It's part of an ancient Sioux prophecy in which, unknown to them, they have always played a part.

By the end of the journey, they will be lovers and heroes, and one of them will venture to the other side of death and back.

Be Warned: menage a trois romance, m/f/m, m/m/f, m/m, anal sex.

Excerpt:

Yancey appeared taken aback at the question.  “And what the hell does that mean?”

She smiled, although it hurt like hell to do so.  She shook her head.  “It means I’d never have had a romantic relationship with one of you, simply because it would have diminished my relationship with the other one.  Made him feel left out.  And I could never do that…to either of you.  But not only could you do that to me…you did do that to me.  And that, in a nutshell, says how little I meant to you.”

Oliver and Yancey looked to each other again, the inward battle with guilt they were sharing written plainly over their faces.

“We never intended to hurt you!” Yancey said. “You should know how much you mean to us.”

A quiet pain worked its way through her voice again.  “We didn't have a normal friendship.  We were one entity.  We were the three musketeers.  Out of that, you two formed a relationship that meant more to you than your friendship with me.  Which tells me exactly where I’ve always stood in our relationship.”

“That isn’t true,” Oliver said.

“That’s your assumption, Elfie,” Yancey shot back. “You jumped to a conclusion and then ran away.  Because something scared you.”

“Oh, here we go!” she said, “It's all my fault again.  You tell me what other way I should have taken that big a betrayal of trust.  Tell me how you'd feel if the circumstances were reversed.”

Standing, Yancey's black eyes darkened, as though searching inside him for a possible answer.  After a long moment, he turned toward her again.  “Okay, I’d probably feel betrayed.”

“Probably?” she asked.  “You know damned well you would.  Now, man up and admit it.  You two made your choice.  At least allow me to make my own.”

“She's right,” Oliver said to Yancey. “We acted without thinking.”

“All right, I admit it,” Yancey said, taking a step back from the circle. “We were thinking with the wrong heads.”

Oliver's blue eyed stare turned brightly toward her.  “So, Elf, tell us.  What do we do to fix it?”

“We can't,” she said sadly. “Our friendship was a wonderful, youthful moment of time in our lives.  But, the mirage is gone now.  We can't bring it back.”

“What if we can build something even better?” Yancey asked.

  1. Reviewed at The TBR Pile

    Posted by thetbrpile.weebly.com on 3rd Dec 2011

The story pulls the reader into the middle of the mystery from the very beginning, with strange deaths and weird remains. I enjoyed the overall story and creativeness of the plot, but felt that at times things were almost too rushed, due to the shortness of the story. The plot twists developed quickly but the solution seemed to come more easily than it might have with more time, and I felt the same way about the relationship development.

However, I really liked the mix of vampire story with Native American elements. I enjoyed all three main characters and found myself pulling for them to work out their differences to find their happily-ever-after. (The sex scenes were fun to read, too!) I loved the glimpses of their shared past and how they got to where they were during the present.

All in all, this is worth the read and I would read other books by the same author.

  2. Coffee Time Romance

Years ago, Elfie Hardesty left her two best friends without an explanation. How could she have explained her growing feelings for her two best friends?

Yancey Crow and Oliver Ryan were furious and extremely hurt when Elfie left them years ago. Now she is back and the two men are not going to allow her to get away again without an explanation.

While traveling to a site with paranormal settings, the three friends get to know each other again. Yancey and Oliver have been lovers for a while now and they plan on bringing Elfie into their circle. Before they can smooth over all the hurt feelings and past mistakes, they will have to deal with a supernatural being that is bent on changing all of their lives forever. If they can make it out alive, will Elfie, Yancey, and Oliver get the happy ever after they are looking for?

I really like the paranormal, mystical, and prophesy aura that surrounds the story. The erotic elements of the novel add essential chemistry that is needed to give this tale the heated romantic components it has. Ms. Clark uses her unique voice to tell a story that intertwines bits of the supernatural with tons of sensuality. The mysterious surroundings of the paranormal being that is spotted throughout the pages give the story a hint of the suspense that keeps the reader on the edge of their seat. Hot, spicy, and with enigmatic characters, Jumlin’s Spawn will keep calling you back for more.
