Product Description

A Berserker Mate's Story, 3

Once inseparable, twin Berserkers, Eryck and Erulf, have been growing apart as Eryck’s magic continues to build.  Teetering on the edge of an explosive realization, Eryck struggles with his emotions, especially when he dreams of Kharisma spending her nights in his arms.  When one of those dreams turns into nightmare, his trust wavers.  Yet the two have no choice but to trust her to lead them on a perilous journey.

Kharisma knows she’s a Berserker’s mate and has been expecting the two brothers to eventually come claim her.  But she refuses to be held to a destiny she hasn’t chosen.  Instead she wants to blaze her own path, as far from the brothers as possible.

When she gets a taste of what life with them is like, she runs.  Overwhelmed, she has to decide if fate had it right or not.

Be Warned: menage sex (MFM), anal sex, rimming, bondage.

No!  No, they couldn’t ask her to do this, to go with them.  No!

“You will assist us,” Eryck grated out between clenched teeth.

It wasn’t a question, more of a demand.  How dare he?

“I wasn’t asking.”  Eryck’s amber eyes started to glow slightly as she finally got the nerve to look into his eyes, knowing she would have to in order to stand her ground.

“Perhaps if you had been polite enough to ask me, I would have considered it further.  But I don’t take kindly to being forced into anything.”

The male growled at her and her traitorous body reacted.  Her nipples stiffened under the thin material of her gown and her clit throbbed as blood flowed freely to her core.  They could see and smell her arousal and it pissed her off to no end.  Their nostrils flared and they began to crowd her.

“I think the thought of being forced arouses you.”  Eryck stepped even closer.

She put her hands up, claustrophobia setting in.  “You can’t force me to do this.”

“Save the world or consider your wishes—hmm, not sure which one sounds like the better route?”  Eryck pushed against her hands.  “What do you think, Rulf?  Should we leave her be?”

“I think you need to back off of her.”  A growl emanated from Erulf’s chest.

Eryck turned to look over his shoulder.  “She has to come.”

“Ask her—nicely—and stop this bullshit, now.”

Eryck turned to look her in the eyes.  “I’m asking nicely.  Come with us.”

“And if I don’t?”

“You’ll be over my shoulder and out the door in two seconds.”

Cream swept along her cunt at his words and she felt sick to her stomach at her reaction.  His nostrils flared wide as he scented her.

“So, I have no choice?”

Eryck paced ever closer, inches from touching her.  The desire to step away screamed in her head, but she refused to back down.

“You do—at this moment.  But I have the choice to change your mind if you don’t pick the correct course of action.”

She stood staring into his amber eyes and attempted not to jerk in surprise when they began to light from inside, switching completely to silver.  The magic inside him was raw, powerful.  Just like the man that power was contained in.

Part of her wanted to flee, run from the room and use her limited magic and escape him.  She was a strong witch, but she also knew that she would have nothing against Eryck if he chose to pull out all the stops.  And with the temper he was showing her now, he could harm her.  The two would catch her in no time, wasting the resources she had.

“Fine.  I’ll go with you.  But it’s under duress.”

His next words were a low whisper that she was sure his brother could not hear.

“After we do what we must, I’m going to make sure your little problem is fixed,” Eryck whispered to her, the hairs rising on the back of her neck at the suggestion.

There was no point in feigning ignorance at his words.  She didn’t have time to continue playing his little game.  “I don’t need you fixing anything of mine.”

“By the time I fuck you, you’ll be begging for it.”

What first caught my attention when I began to read Magic Mischief and Mayhem by Alexandra O’Hurley was the dictionary of terms and characters at the beginning, a delightful addition that helps understand the mythology behind the tale.

The story was a little slow at first. Except for Ewulf, Eryck and Kharisma were getting on my nerves. He was an alpha male bent on domination and being rude. She was a flighty girl, persistent in fighting against her fate. For a while, I even thought I could tell where the story was heading. I was wrong.

After Kharisma’s secret is out in the open and certain events take place, I was hooked. Eryck was still very dominant, but it was a dominance that I was beginning to fully appreciate (specially in the bedroom). Kharisma as well began to grow on me as the story unfolded and more details of her life emerged. As for Ewulf, he remained my favourite twin.

Magic Mischief and Mayhem is more than a complicated love triangle. The author easily introduces a greater picture filled with ancient battles and gods. They’re a splendid addition to an already good story (specially Odin and Freyja’s tale). Furthermore, as I had read previous Berserker Mate’s stories, I was happy to see old characters reappear.

Of course, the novel also includes some very steamy scenes (the thought of Eryck watching from that chair still provokes goose bumps on me), which make the whole novel even harder to put down.

Magic, mischief and Mayhem is a great story, enthralling, fun and hot to read.

Magic, Mischief and Mayhem is a story full of mythology and fantasy and with so much romance it stays with you long afer you finish it.

Eryck and Erulf are twins, identical on the outside but on the inside Eryck is emotional and serious keeping all his thoughts inside his head while Erulf is the humourous one, he is soft and sweet but just as determined to get what he wants as much as his brother. Both are fierce and sexy.

When they find their mate Kharisma they both want to make sure she stays with them but with years of running from her fate will it be possible for her to stay or will she run from them both.

Kharisma has defied fate for millenia, and she has made the final act of defiance a bold one… Killing her brother to save the very men she was supposed to destroy.

Eryck and Erulf are mages and berserkers. They have survived over a thousand years with the curse of no love and no mate, but the curse has finally lifted. They can now find and claim their mate, but to their immense disappointment, she doesn’t want to be claimed.

Magic, Mischief, and Mayhem is the third full length novel in Alexandra O’Hurley’s Berserkers series, and it was my favorite. The plot was highly imaginative with sexy characters, interesting settings and steamy sex scenes. Loose ends from the previous books were cleared up, and Odin’s six have finally found peace. It is a well written, very enjoyable read.

  4. After Dark Review 4 Star Review

Magic, Mischief, and Mayhem is an interesting mix of mythology and fantasy, but romance is everywhere you look! Twin brothers Eryck and Erulf are as different as night and day on the inside, but identical on the outside. They have spent what seems like an eternity searching for their true mate.

Eryck is the emotional twin who keeps his thoughts to himself tucked away in his head. When events happen that he had seen in his head, he begins to open up and change. Erulf is the lover without the mental baggage. Both are fierce, determined, and sexy as all get out. Their demands push Kharisma into looking deep into her heart to find happiness and her destiny.

Magic, Mischief, and Mayhem is a fantastic story told by Alexandra O’Hurley that intermixes legend with fictional romance. I loved her interpretations of the gods and goddesses and how even they struggle with the ultimate search of true love. Kharisma definitely lived up to her name! Full of mirth and magic she finds herself in love with twins who have impressive magical powers of their own.

A great cast of supporting characters help bring Magic, Mischief, and Mayhem to life and make the read that much more dynamic. Steamy, erotic menage sex awaits you as you encounter magical lions, gods, goddesses, and a story that will make you go and research the original characters they were named after.
