A Demon's Love, 1

When Celina Leviet escapes the brutal home invasion that kills her husband, she’s left with a bullet in her gut and vengeance in her heart. An alluring demon, Mekaisto, offers an irresistible deal—in exchange for her soul, he’ll let her live long enough to get her revenge, but she must hunt and kill the murderers herself.

After sealing the contract, Celina digs into her husband’s past for clues about his murder, and what she uncovers makes her question everything she thought she knew about him.

His company never existed.
His family history was a lie.

And he was involved with The Lumen, a shadowy religious order whose members know too much about demons. As the life she thought she knew crumbles around her, Mekaisto's charms become harder to resist. Forced to face a horrible truth, Celina struggles against her late husband’s betrayal and the dark seduction of the devil she knows.

Be Warned: anal sex, bondage, and a demon with two cocks.

Excerpt:

“I am a demon, Celina, and above all else, demons love the hunt.” He smirked when her eyes widened.

“So, you see having sex with someone as a hunt?”

He sighed and ran his fingers through his hair. “By your expression, I would say you still do not quite understand.”

“It’s your twisted logic.”

Interesting

“I take my time, stalk my prey first, count the number of breaths she takes, imagine her screams…”

She arched an eyebrow. “That’s not at all creepy.”

Kai ignored her. “I am a creature of infinite time; the world creeps by, yet an intimate moment is so fleeting, it feels as though it is gone in less than a second.” He stopped, expecting an interruption again, but she stayed silent. “The pleasure is heightened by the danger, and in the throes of passion, I could lose my control and revert to the form least likely to be found pleasurable by my … partner? He lost himself in the images in his mind, pinning down Celina’s body, taking her in a way she would never be able to recreate with a mere mortal man. “Hunting is simple. There is always one in the crowd that stands out—rarely is it the one searching for the one-night stand—no…” Kai locked his eyes with hers and goose bumps rose on her arms and legs. “No, the one unsure of what society wants her to be, the one who is desperate to be loved and appreciated. She is the one I seek.”

So, social outcasts are your type?

His eyes pierced her until he could see through her mind again, to all those curious little fantasies.

He smiled. “It’s about finesse, Celina. I listen to her, and as she speaks more confidently, I brush a hand over her skin”—his hand skimmed Celina’s neck as he brushed her back—“just enough so she shivers with anticipation of what my lips would feel like in the same spot.” He delved into Celina’s mind as his words worked against her disdain for him. “Then I caress her in a way she won’t notice, but her subconscious will let her lean into, let her mind take over and her body will beg for more.”

“She’d notice if…” She followed his gaze to his hand on her knee.

“Are you certain?” He’d worked his own body into a sensual frenzy as he’d drawn her into his web.

She stared at him, her cheeks flushing. “I—”

“Eventually, I suggest a night filled with pleasure.” He couldn’t contain his smile as he moved closer. “I keep touching her in small ways—maintaining physical contact at all times.” His hand inched up her side, until he tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear. She sucked in a breath and he cupped her cheek.

He sat close to her and her scent calmed and excited him at the same time.

“Kai?” Her voice wavered.

“Sex is fleeting.” He took her chin and drew her close. “But intimacy is endless, a continuous moment of gentle touches”—his hand dropped back to her knee, and then made its way up her thigh until she let out a small gasp—“personal boundaries broken, and pleasures that go beyond sex.”

She sat as if frozen. “It’s still a one-night stand.”

“Mine last longer—and you reveal not only your body.” His hand moved to the middle of her chest. “When you are intimate with a demon, you reveal your soul. You make yourself vulnerable and open.”

“Considering you’ll have my soul sometime soon, I’m not giving you a free sample.” She drew away from him and stood. “I won’t be your prey tonight.”

Another surge of heat rushed through him, but he pushed it down with a long, deep breath. “You would set me loose on another human?”

She glared at him. I wasn’t aware I had a choice about what you do outside of our deal. This would be on you, not me.”

“You think you control what I do within our deal?”

She rubbed her arms when he stood. “Not when you say it like that.”

“Celina…” He stopped in front of her and leaned into her personal space, drawing a lungful of a scent he would only ever associate with her.

He wrapped his arms around her, swallowing the shiver that shook her body. “What are you—?”

Let’s play, Celina. I can assure you, you will not regret a night in my arms.”

I want youAgainst all my instincts, I need you close.

Celina pushed him as hard as she could, and he withdrew as disappointment withered his gaze.

“Let me go, Mekaisto.”

You are trembling again, my dove… Is it because you are scared you will give in? How far can I push you until you bend?

“What if I say no?”

She glared at him, but Kai’s smile widened. He could feel, even smell, the pulsing between her legs begging him to take her.

“Isn’t it enough you’re getting my life and my soul? Now you need my body, too?” She pushed against him again, but he only held tighter, unable to let her go. “Why are you doing this? I just lost my husband, found out things that break my heart. I can’t sit and flirt with you.”

“I am offering you the chance to forget.”

“No!” Her hands clenched to fists as she shoved even harder against his chest. “No! You want to take everything I have left.”

He grabbed her wrists, pushed her back on the sofa, and pinned her down, his body hovering over her. “What is your life without your body?” He tilted his head and flicked his tongue across his lips. “You never asked what selling your life and soul meant specifically. Allow me to enlighten you now.” He moved until his face loomed only an inch or so from her face and her breath caught. He let go of her wrists, but his gaze pinned her to the spot.

“What?” Her voice ached just above a whisper.

“I own every inch of you … body and soul.”

Her face flushed and her lips trembled. “I never agreed to that!”

“You agreed to living. The details did not matter to you.”

“I was dying! You told me I didn’t have much time left, so it—”

His smile widened. “Even if you had all the time in the world, it would not have made a difference. Humans never read the fine print.”

  1. 5 stars 5 Star Review

Is it wrong to fall in love with a demon? Because I did. And he’s not a good demon, he’s violent and cruel. But he’s also sarcastic, hilarious and can you believe – likable? But Kai is gentle, and cruel and sarcastic and sweet with Celina, but for all the right reasons. This is a story about betrayal, truths and yes, it’s a love story.

Celina’s husband is brutally killed and when she runs away from the house and the murderers who are racing after her, she’s shot and on her way to dying also. Along comes Kai, the dark shadow that Celina has seen all her life, morphing into a human-like figure with red eyes. Kai offers Celina revenge for her husband, in exchange for her soul and her life. Already knowing she is dying, Celina accepts the offer.

I’m not giving any more spoilers, but I loved this book. I loved Kai, and a very strong Celina. And the twists and turns that the author takes you on while delving for the truth was so much fun. Do be warned though, there is a lot of violence – but it all makes sense. Reviewed by Cyrene

ALL RIGHT. Where do I start with this one? Well, it blew me away. I lost an entire night's sleep because I made the mistake of starting it before bed; I couldn't put it down. There is a WOW factor in this book that I don't see often. Frechette writes with a dark, raw, seduction. There is a way she blends horror, paranormal, and romance that leaves you both captivated and unable to look away. There are so many twists and turns and half-truths, I was giddy with the web Frechette weaves.

  3. Five Stars 5 Star Review

When her husband is shot down in cold blood, Celina is tempted by a demon to trade her soul for revenge on everyone responsible for the crime.

Seems like an easy thing, a difficult choice, but an earnest desire. Little does she realize the world of intrigue and deception she steps into when she agrees to Kai's bargain.

First of all I will start off with saying that romance of any kind is not my usual genre. At one time I swore I'd rather burn at the stake than read one.

Then you come across a writer like Fréchette.

My Soul to Give offers a wonderfully intricate plot full of lies, half-truths, twists and surprise that will leave even the veteran readers of romance, horror and paranormal spinning. Celina is a non-standard heroine who starts off with a complete certainty of who she is even though she regrets her bargain almost immediately. As she begins to feel affection for the demon that will chain her soul for eternity she fights a very real and honest battle with her own mind and body to rationalize it. Kai makes a delightful, delicious male lead / villain that it's hard not to love a little even when we know he's an evil jerk at times.

I would also be remiss if I did not mention the author's style which draws the reader in bit, by loving bit, like a trail of sweet confections. To say her books are hard to put down is an understatement. You will be tempted to call in sick, to skip work, to rent a room in some far away den so that you won't be interrupted.

And there is not such thing as a good romance without wild passion and unadulterated abandon. Celina teases us again and again and when she finally gives in to her demon it is worth the way. If the average paranormal romance is steamy, this one could flay the skin off of a komodo dragon.

The middle does bog down a bit while the couple are feeling each other out, but beyond that it's a stunning read.

Come taste a world of darkness, desire and dreams unfurled.

My Soul to Give is an exciting, unique and refreshing tale of humans, demons, dead, undead and the blurry lines between innocence and evil.
Magali Frechette writes complex characters, twisty stories and brilliant love scenes. I couldn't put this book down and can't wait for the sequel!

  5. Stunning! 5 Star Review

This left me tied in knots. The story brought all the rawness of a twisted love together with a murderous rampage of revenge. The plot is clever and fresh with a fast pace and strangely compelling characters whom you know you shouldn't love but love anyway. When her husband is murdered, Celina uses her fighting spirit to avenge her broken heart, and Mekaisto leads her into the darkness for reasons that remain his own until the last moment. The eerie yet erotic tension between them creates an unexpected sensation of both dread and longing.

This book has what I call the WOW factor: violence, sex, demons, betrayals, lies, secrets and major surprises. Of course, I must admit to reading it with all the lights on since there was some very graphic violence and some of them involved spiders, yuck.

Celina Leviet has been with her husband for seven years, five of them married. She lives in her dream house which her husband, Thomas, built for her and where she spends most of her time. Thomas is killed and she is shot and dying. She comes face to face with a demon who offers her the opportunity to live and avenge her husband’s death. The payment for the demon’s help is her life and soul.

Mekaisto is no ordinary demon; he is the demon feared by other demons and his thirst for violence knows no bounds. Kai will help her find and kill the one’s responsible for taking away the love of her life and she is willing to sacrifice her soul and life to do it. Unfortunately, while searching for the guilty people, she comes to find that Thomas was not the man she thought he was. He lied about his family and he lied about his business, a business that never existed. Despite feeling betrayed by him, she is still determined to find those responsible and make them suffer.

Celina’s journey is not without complications, she learns more about her parents who died in a car accident, she learns about her aunt who dragged her to church trying to save her soul. She also learns more about demons than she ever wanted to know and especially about Kai. She sees his evil up close when he saves her from his second in command Shiriki, who is experimenting on humans and trying to find out more about where the soul is. I won’t go into detail about what he does to these humans, but it is mind blowing.

Celina finds herself falling in love with Kai, who one minute is loving and the next a monster. She can’t help the fact that she loves two men, her dead husband and the demon she will owe her life and soul to. Celina also begins to show signs of evil and some of the things she sees would probably destroy a person’s mind, but she comes through it. Is Kai changing her into something like himself?

I was hooked from page one. The suspense and storyline just grew and grew with each page I read so I couldn’t put it down. I can’t wait for the next book in the series and highly recommend this one to anyone who loves dark suspense, thriller, mystery, and romance. It is not a book for the faint of heart.

  8. Blew Me Away 5 Star Review

ALL RIGHT. Where do I start with this one? Well, it blew me away. I lost an entire night's sleep because I made the mistake of starting it before bed; I couldn't put it down. There is a way she blends horror, paranormal, and romance that leaves you both captivated and unable to look away. There are so many twists and turns and half-truths, I was giddy with the web Frechette weaves.

The characters were... well, incredible. Mekaisto was dark and horrifying and scary as hell -- and at the same time so seductive I was wondering what the heck was wrong with me. Celina's single-mindedness irked me a few times -- but it made so much sense, and her character arc was all the more beautiful because of it.

The only issue I found was the pacing at a few moments -- a few transitions seemed a little jarring. But I was so enraptured by the story and characters I really didn't care.

I will say it probably deserves a warning for the horror, and the dynamic between Mekaisto and Celina. You're going to need to tap into your inner dark side for this one; it's not for the faint of heart.

The story is complex and intricate and you will gasp at the twist at the end. It's well worth reading and losing sleep over. GO READ IT.

Wow! Big, huge, amazing wow! I love this book. Let’s start off with the plot. A wife bent on revenge, a demon, lies and deception. Sounds good, doesn’t it? The blurb sure grabbed me. Then we get fabulous characters with plot twists and sexy scenes. The story is so rich with details. It’s about finding the truth in a sea of lies and all the while she’s fighting her feelings for this sexy demon. Once again, wow! I cannot wait to read more!

My Soul to Give is a paranormal gem and should be at the top of your tbr list!
