Be Warned: BDSM, anal sex

Excerpt:

“Ladies,” he greeted in a soft, super seductive voice.  How’d he pack such a panty wetting inflection in one word?

Alannah listened to her companions fumbling for something coherent to say and failing miserably.  It would’ve made her laugh except she suspected she’d be in the same boat if she opened her mouth.  So instead, she rose, grabbed her empty plate and walked away, making a beeline for the nearest trash can before heading off into the woods for a quick walk to get her equilibrium back.

It was almost surreal being back here, hearing the splashes and laughter from the partygoers.  She knew once night fell that a bonfire would go up and everyone would settle around with beers and blankets to swap stories.  Some would head off for a little privacy.  Some wouldn’t give a shit about privacy.

“Having fun?” Sky asked from behind her, startling her so bad she almost tripped.

His arms caught her around her stomach and hauled her back just in time, and she sagged in relief until she felt all of him touching all of her.  Good god almighty, there wasn’t padding under those clothes.  His chest cradled her back and his groin fit in the curve of her ass.  And then, holy moly…his cock went from relaxed to hard in the blink of an eye.  He was poking her.  Literally.

All the breath swooshed from her and before she realized what she was doing, she’d wiggled her ass against him.  She was rewarded with a groan right before Sky bent over to nuzzle his nose against the curve where her neck met her shoulder.  His breath was warm and it tickled the fine hair at her nape.  Her libido began to hyperventilate, her mouth began to salivate, and suddenly all she wanted to do was turn around and ride him into next Sunday.

Holy shit.  Where’d that thought come from?

Panicking just a little, because he used to be her best friend, she pulled away and spun, panting like she’d just run a marathon.  His blue eyes were deep and stormy and they looked at her with good old-fashioned lust.  She felt an answering need pulse through her clit so she silently gave it a warning to back the fuck down.  This was Sky…  She couldn’t possibly want to fuck him.  Could she?

Sizzling Hot Books
Written by Isis on 13th Dec 2014

Paper Kisses by Beth D. Carter is an excellent erotic romance. I have read and enjoyed this author previously so I decided to pick this book up. I am glad I did because I enjoyed reading it immensely. Paper Kisses is Skylar and Alannah’s story. I look forward to reading more books by this author in the future. Alannah was a small town girl and she left it and everyone behind without saying goodbye. She made a life for herself elsewhere. She is happily married and enjoys her life as it is. Everything is perfect or at least that is what she thinks until her husband tells her things are over. She is devastated and decides to go back to her hometown to find herself again. She is pulled over by Skylar her best guy friend from high school. When she returns home he pulls her over because she was speeding and he isn’t exactly happy with her. She can tell that he has changed and that intrigues her but she isn’t ready to get into another relationship. He tells her he can bring her pleasure like she has never felt before if only she would agree to do whatever he wants for the weekend. If she doesn’t like what he shows her than she is free and clear. Will she agree to his conditions? Or will she walk away from him again? Skylar is the local sheriff in his town and it is a job he does well. His life is pretty good but he has never found his one and only because he could never forget the one that got away. When he catches her speeding into town again he sees his opportunity to win her over once and for all, but he also has a bone to pick with her. She left town and didn’t say anything to him not even goodbye. That is something that he hasn’t gotten over even though it has been a while. He is not sure how long she will be staying but he is going to try to make it permanent. He wants to give her a reason to stay. When she agrees to let him show her a side of herself that she has never explored he is thrilled. Will he be able to get her to see that the two of them are perfect for each other? Or will she leave him again without a word? Paper Kisses was an enjoyable read. I even liked the story of the paper kisses within the book. I liked the main characters and I also cared about the secondary ones. I liked the interaction between all the characters and thought the story played out well. I liked the chemistry between Skylar and Alannah…it made me wonder why she left in the first place. I liked that Skylar was able to pull out a side of her that she never knew existed. I liked Alannah too even if I didn’t understand some of the life choices she made. I liked that she trusted Skylar and was able to learn more about herself. I also liked that she was willing to try something new rather than stick to the same old stuff she had been doing before. I would recommend Paper Kisses to those who enjoy a sweet erotic romance.

The TBR Pile

I read the blurb for this book and it really interested me. I’m glad it gave this book a try. Alannah thought her marriage was working out fine, not spectacular but just fine. Then her ass of a husband tells her she’s not sexy or skinny anymore and wants to seperate. Poor Alannah. Although I’ve never been married the author did a fantastic job of showing just how broken Alannah was. So, she returns home, is pulled over by her high school best friend who turned into one hell of a sexy man and cop. I did note a few editing issues that threw me from the story, head hopping for one. Also Skyler kept popping up at the perfect time which was unbelievable. Also some facts were a bit off. There’s no way to tell if a dog has heat stroke until a veterinarian checkes him out. Other than that, this was a really enjoyable story. I fell in love with Alannah and really wanted her to find her happy ending. Anyone who saved a dog from a hot car is my hero! She was lost and I really felt her struggle to find herself. Skyler was beyond hot! I wanted him in my bed but I guess, since him and Alannah seem so perfect...I’ll share. Apparently, he’s also fantastic in bed! The sex was scorching hot and had me reaching for some cold water. Paper Kisses is a sweet read with a kinky side that shouldn’t be missed!

Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews

I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by this book. Alannah Atwood is at a crossroads in her life. Divorced after being told by her husband that he was bored by her, she heads home to small town Missouri to take stock of her life. Immediately upon returning, she is pulled over by Skylar Randall, town sheriff and her childhood best friend, and the sparks fly. Reconnecting with Sky and the other friends she left behind in her haste to get out of town as a young girl, Alannah has to decide whether she can learn to trust again, and more importantly, whether she can do it with Sky. Going in to this book, I assumed it would just be a fluffy story of small town girl escaping to the big city and then coming home to realize where she should be. And it was. This book was sweet and heartfelt, and the characters were likeable and, in the case of Sky, pretty damn yummy. What surprised me was that I got way more than I expected. In his effort to get over his best friend and the girl of his dreams leaving him without a backwards glance, Sky learned to just let himself go with bondage and shibari. Introducing Alannah to this secret part of himself was unexpected, surprisingly tender and frankly hot. As Alannah learns to open her mind and trust in her best friend, she finds herself happier than she has ever been. But is one week with Sky enough to allow her to put her faith in what she feels and take the chance on a new relationship? Alannah and Sky, as well as the supporting characters in the book, were fun and all too human. There was no earthshattering plot or intense thought required when reading Paper Kisses, so it was the perfect little tale to curl up with and sink in and enjoy. The story was sweet and the sex was dirty. What’s not to like??

Alannah’s ex-husband told her she was boring before he divorced her. This sends Alannah into a downward spiral. Six months later, she is just coming out of that downward spiral. In an effort to figure out her life, she goes back to her hometown. Alannah is so confused, she is hoping to get back to that confident girl she used to be. Skylar Randall is the town Sheriff. He has always had eyes for Alannah and when she married someone else years ago, his heard broke. Skylar is a hot and sexy man who while not a Dom in the true sense of the word. He enjoys bondage and even teaches rope bondage at a local BDSM club. I loved that when Skylar sees Alannah he is going to pull out all the stops to get her to stay. The chemistry between Skylar and Alannah is explosive. Alannah’s low self-esteem seems to be the biggest issue for both of them because Alannah has not trust in herself. I loved that Skylar seemed so sure of himself as he tried to convince Alannah to give them a chance. This story was very well written. I loved this story a lot more than I expected too. We have all had those times where we are at a cross roads in our life, just like Alannah. I enjoyed seeing Skylar while attempting to get her to stay but in a way not to pressure her. The main characters and the secondary characters were not just interesting but appealing. Overall, this was a great book.
