Seduced by a Demon, 3
Damien Walker has just hired a sexy new bartender, and landed himself trouble, with a capital 'T'.
Teresa's on the run, but from something more sinister than human law. She's a demon on the lam from Hell, trying to hide away in this sleepy town. A job in Damien's bar seems the perfect cover. He doesn't ask questions and he's great eye-candy too. What could be better?
But Teresa isn't the only one with a secret identity and a past they'd rather not remember. Damien knows exactly who and what she is because he's hunted demons before and old habits die hard.
What's a Nephilim bounty hunter to do when one white-hot little devil walks into his bar and turns his quiet life upside down? She's a complication he could do without. She's also irresistible.
So she wants to cause him trouble? That's nothing compared to what he can do to her.
Be Warned: anal play
He strolled toward her, moving slowly like a large cat. It was easy to imagine him as a panther. Dark, deadly, striking when least expected. The fact he was drop-dead gorgeous only enhanced the image. There was no way to stop her traitorous body from responding to his sultry moves. Her pussy was suddenly wet and her tank top felt way too tight. Images of fucking him silly on one of the tables in the bar flitted through her mind.
Instead of walking around behind the bar, he sat at the closest table and put his chin in his hands, still studying her face. “Before I tell you how I know, tell me why you’re hiding.”
She shook her head. “It doesn’t work that way, Damien. I took a chance coming in here tonight, trusting humans. I get to choose how much to reveal and when, not you.”
He stood up so quickly the chair fell backwards. “Who the hell do you think you are? I’ve known demons, Teresa. They don’t take the kind of risks you did tonight. You don’t seem stupid so that only leaves careless.”
His words stung but there was truth in them. She was careless. Had been for as long as she could remember, but it hurt to hear someone say it out loud.
“My customers are loyal to me and they lied tonight for my sake, not yours.” He took several strides toward her, his dark eyes flashing. “But don’t think for one minute I’m going to let you throw people around my bar every night. Sooner or later those same customers will begin asking questions. And when that happens, I’ll be minus one business and you’ll be back where you belong.”
Men fell at her feet and begged her to stay. They didn’t cross a room, full of righteous indignation, and lecture her. How dare he?
“Who the hell are you to tell me what to do?”
“The person who owns this bar, that’s who. You want to work here, you follow my rules.”
“I make the rules, Damien. I don’t follow them.”
“You’ll follow mine or you can leave right now. The choice is yours.”
He’d reached the other side of the counter now. Lust and anger rolled off him in waves. The combination was intoxicating, but he was only a man. Forcing her breathing to slow down, she weighed her options again. There were only two choices. Play along for now, or find another place to hide. Damien was one of the sexiest men she’d ever met. The fact he wanted her to leave made her more determined to win him over.
Lowering her eyes, she also toned down her voice. “I made a mistake, Damien. It won’t happen again.”
“You’re damn right it won’t because I want you gone. Tonight.”
As a demon, she’d never met a man she couldn’t persuade to do her bidding. She seduced mortals into signing away their souls using her body and her looks, and no man had ever dismissed her from his life as Damien was doing now. A bar owner in a one-horse town should be no challenge at all for her. What was so different about him? Why was he immune to her charms?
“You don’t mean that.” She held his gaze steady.
He faltered for just a second, breaking eye contact. “Stop that shit, Teresa. I know what you’re trying to do.”
Was that all it would take for him to let her stay, to seduce him? That shouldn’t be a problem. The sudden realization he wasn’t immune to her powers of seduction gave Teresa such a thrill she decided to change tactics. Why argue with him about who made the rules when all she had to do was get him into bed?
She smiled and hopped up on the bar, giving him a nice eyeful of her hot pink thong as she swung her legs around. As she slid off the other side and inched toward him, he took a step back. Several emotions crossed his chiseled face, competing for control. “Stop what shit, Damien? Do I really need to use my powers to seduce you? You wanted me from the second you saw me in the bathroom.”
“You can’t solve this with sex.”
His voice was husky and unsure. Beads of sweat broke out along his hairline. His soft, wavy hair that she wanted to run her fingers through and bury her nose in.
“Sex solves everything, Damien.” She closed the gap between them until they were only inches apart. His eyes were intense, searching. He was hanging on by a thread, and the realization she was that close excited her to the point of physical pain. “Sex is the great leveler between two people.”
“Is that all you want? To seduce me?”
“Would that be so terrible?” She took another step closer and ran a finger from the pulse at the base of his throat down his shirt, stopping at his navel. He drew in a sharp breath as tiny beads of sweat broke out along his upper lip. His full, thick lips that begged to be kissed.
“If you want me to leave, then so be it. But there’s nothing to stop us from having some fun first, is there?”
His face twisted into a mask of pain and confusion.” Dammit, Teresa I’m not immune to you, okay? But I know how to fight it because I’ve been there before. I want you to leave.”
“Please get out of here,” he whispered.
“One night.” She ran her hands over his chest, enjoying the contrast between his rippling muscles and the soft cotton shirt. “Just one, and then I’ll leave and you’ll never see me again.”
“Why do you have to prove yourself?”
Teresa rubbed her fingers over his nipples under the fabric and he groaned. “I’m not trying to prove anything. I just want to fuck you.”
“Damn you,” he whispered.
She smiled. “Too late.”
Other Books in the Seduced by a Demon series:

The author, Carolyn Rosewood, wrote a story about a not so good demon which is an oxymoron isn't it? But different then most of these stories, you start to actually root for the kinda bad guy. Or woman in this cause. Enter Teresa, a sexy demon who uses lust to have men sign away their souls. But soon we realize she's not at all as bad as the things she's done even as she tries to pretend it was all about saving her own hide.
Then we have super sexy Damien who carries a dark, sad past with him as he lives a simple life. When Teresa drops into his bar, the sparks fly. And duh, she's a lusty demon. But after a quick and hot coupling, they step back and we see their relationship evolve as any other one would. They learn to trust, and enjoy one another. I think my favorite part was the late night card playing. Something about that made this story very real and relate-able.
My only issue is that there were a lot of names, minor characters really, thrown around in a small amount time ( or in this case it was 4 pages ). For me, it was confusing and I spent more time trying to outline who was who and not so much on what they were doing. This is book three in a series, but very much a stand alone.
Overall, a good read and a sweet love story.

Teresa played her cards too close to the chest and finds herself on the run from others in the underworld. Teresa materializes in the men's room of a bar and decides that this is the perfect place to hide out. Damien knows Teresa isn't quite human and he is curious as to what she is doing in his bar. As a former Demon, Damien doesn't have the trust of anyone from that realm. Giving in to Teresa's seductive power, Damien agrees to allow Teresa to hide out while working as a bartender. When the demons tracking Teresa get too close, Teresa will do whatever it takes to protect Damien- even if it means leaving him.
Playing for Keeps is the third stand-alone story in the Seduced by a Demon series. When selecting the story about demons I actually expected a bit more demon-like activity between the characters. Teresa character is the demon and she does give the appearance of one who will do whatever it takes to stay on top. Damien is a bit harder to read. As a former demon he is taking the change to a human very well. Teresa and Damien's connection doesn't feel sexual in the beginning but the sexual chemistry starts to develop after Teresa stops playing the seducer. The suspense story line is a bit confusing and doesn't really fit into Teresa and Damien's growing love life. The sexual scenes don't involve any kink and except for a few hot encounters with details, it is mainly left up to the reader’s imagination. The secondary characters are from the first two stories in this series and start to take the focus off of Teresa and Damien. Fans of the Seduced by a Demon series will enjoy Playing for Keeps.

Teresa thinks she is being hunted because she betrayed another demon. She seeks refuge with Damien, unaware he used to be a Nephilim. Damien tries to resist her because of a past experience with another demon he thought he loved.
In the third book of the Seduced by a Demon series, Playing For Keeps brings up unresolved feelings for both the main and secondary characters. The author takes a look at Teresa’s past and makes the point that people can change if they truly want to, though sometimes it comes about under duress. Damien has to come to terms with his feelings of resentment at his situation with Teresa.
The chemistry between the two is explosive, but I thought some of the storyline in the beginning was a little slow in revealing some of the issues with Teresa. The author did throw in a little twist that I did not see coming at the end, but it did resolves some issues that ran through the series. While you can read this book alone and get the gist of what happened in previous books, you will enjoy it much more if you read the books in order.

My first book by this author and I really like her style of writing. This is the third book in the series and I found it to be a standalone. So for those of you that are read series in order nuts like me it ok to grab this one out of order. You not only get hot sizzling sex you get action and a great storyline.
Damien and Teresa and starts off in a blaze but they very quick slow it down so the storyline can take place. I really liked how they connected with each other and the way they both had to learn to trust each other with their not so hot past.
I recommend this one for anyone who wants a fast pace sexy paranormal novella. Now I have to get my hands on the other books in this series.

Teresa is running as if from the very demons of hell… Actually, she is running from the demons from hell, having irked her boss by keeping in touch with a human. Dropping into the bathroom of a dive bar, the last thing she wants is to draw the attention of the world she escaped from. Thinking that waitressing for the sexy as sin owner of the bar will be the perfect cover, she decides to hang around for as long as she can. But will she be tempted to do far more than tend his bar?
Damien Walker chose a quiet life after burying his own chaotic past. The last thing he wants is a steamy hot demon on the run hiding out in the middle of his peaceful sojourn. But Teresa is pushing buttons that Damien had thought he long since deactivated. Can he resist the pull of her flesh, even when he knows what she is from almost the moment he sees her?
Teresa finds it hard to blend into the human world, even throwing men at least twice her size like they were nothing more than paperweights in a bar fight. But the sexual attraction between the two main characters is off the charts, leading both to risk things they wouldn’t otherwise. Will they find something that they didn’t realize they were searching for in each other’s arms? Or will all hell break loose?
This story was so hot. I was surprised the pages didn’t singe my fingertips. Teresa may have been a kick-ass demon but she was also a tender woman who just wanted love and to take care of someone, which made her really easy to identify with. By the time I hit the end of this story, I was cheering for this couple and hoping that they indeed found their happily ever after. All in all, a fun read with some very sensuous sex to keep it spicy.

It has a demon, that’s a woman and she exudes sexuality. How can you not like this book? The answer is you won't just like it but you'll love it. This is hot and steamy but plot driven as well, I never felt like the story took a back seat to the sex but instead was balanced by it. It was a tad too fast but this might just be me not wanting to leave these characters so quickly. The visual details and character connection were so well written. This is a highly recommended read for those demon lovers out there
