His Heart’s Desire
Matthew Carpenter has been Santa Claus for the last 99 Christmases. This will be the last year for him and once he finishes delivering the toys for the last time he will get his heart’s desire.
Luca was Matthew’s childhood friend before he disappeared. When Father Time comes to him telling him that he is Matthew’s one true desire, Luca knows he feels the same way.
Matthew is a virgin and terrified of making the wrong move. Luca just wants time with his old friend and new lover. The wish he made may have come true but how long was it going to last? They are both determined to make up for all the times they could have had, especially since Matthew does not know if they will get only one night together before Father Time takes him away from the North Pole for good.
I really enjoyed reading this story by JP Barnaby. I must say that the thought of having a different Santa Claus every 100 years is unique, fresh, and yet completely understandable. The way Matthew and Luca are very hesitant at first with their love making, almost innocent as they experimented, allows us as the reader to see them for the truly innocents they are. The sex alone in this tale is mind-blowing and then adding a fresh, new and appealing story to the mix just makes me want to re-read it again and again.
Santa’s Helper
Simon cannot believe he is going to be seeing his ex-boyfriend again when he goes to the mall to be one of Santa’s elves. Especially since his ex just happens to be dating a woman.
Kevin cannot keep his hands off Simon. Meanwhile, he is still with his girlfriend.
While Simon knows it will hurt him more, he cannot say no to Kevin. But sometimes something beautiful comes out of something ugly. In this case, a beautiful new friendship between Simon and the man who is playing Santa. Even as Simon struggles with the tormenting and conflicting emotions that Kevin wreaks, Santa gives him some sound advice. Now Simon has to make a decision about what he wants to do and the answer may just surprise him.
Ms. Beaumont has written a tale that will leave you feeling so satisfied you swear you need to smoke a cigarette after reading this hot story! The way Simon yearns for something more from Kevin comes through loud and clear, saddening me as I read all he has suffered at his ex’s hands. This is a beautiful and soulful tale full of emotions and enough heartache to leave you feeling breathless. The way Simon finally comes to realize exactly how much of a jerk Kevin is makes this book even better. Then add in the way the story ends and it definitely left me with a smile on my face.
Tricksy the Christmas Elf
Hardy “Tricksy” Hardwick is playing a male elf. He took over when the female Trixie got pregnant and could not play the part anymore.
Daryl “number one Santa” Dinwittie has noticed what fine butt Tricksy has from the first day he met him. Now he is just trying to figure out how to approach the elf.
Finally, the day comes when Tricksy and Santa get together. It all seems to be going well until the elf freaks and runs out on Santa. Now the famous toymaker will have to figure out what is going on with his number one elf. With a little help from an unexpected source, Tricksy and Santa may still have a very merry Christmas.
This was definitely a different tale. Mr. Storm had a lot of sex and though it was hot, there was not much substance to this story. I did enjoy how Tricksy seemed to become enthralled with Santa before knowing what he looked like. It showed he had some great characteristics since a lot of sex is based solely on looks alone.
‘Twas a Dark and Delicious Christmas: Manlove Anthology is one red-hot read! I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, especially the first two tales. His Heart’s Desire and Santa’s Helper both packed quite a wallop of emotions while Tricksy the Christmas Elf left me feeling cold in spots, especially with some of the more gauche wording. Even with the mixed reviews, I would still re-read this book because overall it was worth perusing and to read it a second time would be just as nice. If you want something toasty and warm to keep you comfy on a cold winter night, pick up this book and get ready to be heated from the inside out.

His Heart’s Desire
by J.P. Barnaby
4 KISSES
Review:
Matthew Carpenter is Santa Claus, or at least he has been for the past one hundred years. It is all part of a deal he’s worked out with Father Time. In exchange for a commitment of 100 years of service as Santa, Matthew will be granted his heart’s desire. The only problem is that after all this time he still has no idea what that is.
Matthew doesn’t want riches. He no longer wants fame. He doesn’t even want a wife and children, for he has steadfastly maintained a secret about himself for the past one hundred years. He is attracted to men rather than women. Yes, he’s a gay Santa, albeit a chaste one. So for one hundred years Santa has dedicated himself solely to his responsibilities as the Father of Christmas. He’s done his duties, delivering presents to children throughout the world, making toys, checking the naughty-or-nice list. Now it’s over, and he must decide what to do.
When Father Time visits Matthew and asks for his wish, Matthew draws a blank. He has no answer, and so Father Time looks deep into Matthews heart. Suddenly Matthew begins to change. Magically he is transformed into his younger self, the person he was before he became Santa. He finds himself in the company of another young man, someone he knew from his former existence.
Luca grew up with Matthew, and when Matthew suddenly disappeared, it was devastating. Now finally the two of them are together again, and it all seems too good to be true. The connection the two once shared, years ago, is rekindled, and a century of loneliness is swept away by one night of passion. Their lovemaking is fierce, and it becomes obvious to Matthew that Father Time is very wise. Truly Luca is and has always been the desire of Matthew’s heart. He is saddened though, for he fears that once the encounter has ended, Luca will be gone and he will again be alone.
The next morning Father Time returns, and the couple is faced with a serious decision. Will they go on together in a new life, or will have only the cherished memory of a single night of passion to cling to?
His Heart’s Desire is a sweet Christmas tale. The opening pages of the story included a solo scene where Santa pleasures himself as he fantasizes about having a male companion. I was a bit taken aback by that particular visual, yet the story quickly evolved into a touching romance. The lovemaking was sensual and realistic, and the connection shared by the central characters was very endearing. The HEA conclusion of the story was not a disappointment, and overall it was simply a pleasurable read, fantastical and fun.

Simon is a Christmas elf at the Cypress Bend Mall. For the past year he’s been in a relationship with Kevin, the very man who now employs him. Kevin hires Simon as an elf, and as part of the deal, he uses Simon for a little action on the side.
Kevin has a girlfriend named Desiree. Although he has been involved secretly with Simon for several months, things have gotten quite serious with Desiree. Kevin is deeply in the closet and is very focused upon maintaining a certain public image. He doesn’t want to openly admit he is gay, yet he’s unwilling to give up his penchant for man-on-man action. Basically he’s a player, using both Simon and Desiree in order to have his cake and eat it too.
Simon is rather sensitive, and he is madly in love with Kevin. The selfish behavior of his boss and lover is truly disturbing to him, yet when Kevin puts the moves on him, he cannot resist. Kevin’s manipulations are powerful, and Simon loses all his willpower every time he’s propositioned. Simon wants more than anything for his deep feelings to be reciprocated, but he is willing to settle for the cheap and tawdry clandestine encounters that he has with his secret lover.
It is when Simon meets Jerry that things begin to change. Jerry plays Santa, and he begins to form a meaningful friendship with Simon. It becomes obvious to Jerry how Kevin is using Simon, and Jerry is quick to offer his support to Simon. Without pressuring him, he begins to simply form a friendship. The two open up to one another.
Simon is very touched by the generosity and support of his new friend Jerry, but it is obvious that Jerry is straight. Jerry even has a twelve year old son. Interestingly, it is the advice and kindness of Simon’s new friend that empowers him, and finally he confronts Kevin with an ultimatum.
This short Christmas tale is well-written and delivers a powerful message about self-worth. I instantly was drawn to Simon, and I yearned for his happiness. Jerry is the hero of the story, and of course he is nothing less than a knight in shining armor. The lovemaking was beautiful, the characterization strong, and the story’s conclusion was very touching. A fantastic story which made the entire anthology worth the full purchase price: Highly Recommended!

3.5 KISSES
Tricksy is a Christmas elf who works at the mall. He’s taking the place of female elf Trixie, who is off on maternity leave. Tricksy is slender and elfish in appearance, and his greatest physical feature is his to-die-for ass, which he showcases nicely in his tight-fitting velvet tights.
Daryl is the mall Santa. His costume is very elaborate, and quite effectively conceals the man beneath. It is not clear whether Daryl is young or old, fat or skinny. He is Santa Claus, plain and simple.
When Tricksy meets Daryl, he is drawn to him, not because of his appearance but because he is genuinely a nice person. Tricksy begins to contemplate a relationship with this mystery Santa, and he decides that no matter what is underneath the make up and costume, he wants to make love to this sweet man.
When the couple do finally connect, Tricksy is pleasantly surprised. The real man Daryl is anything but a fat old man. He’s young and buff, and a total top. They have passionate sex, but Tricksy suddenly is confused. He’d had it in his mind all this time that he would be doing Daryl a favor if he made love to him. Now it seems their roles have reversed, and it’s unsettling.
Will Tricksy be able to set aside his feelings of inadequacy and simply appreciate the connection he has with this remarkable Santa? Will he be able to realize that it is what is within the heart that truly matters more than the packaging?
Tricksy the Elf was an enjoyable Christmas read. The central character Tricksy was adorable, and his Santa lover was nearly too-good-to-be-true. The story was well written and was the perfect way to top off a wonderful holiday anthology.

His Heart’s Desire by J.P Barnaby
I felt that the first story in the anthology had more in the way of character development. The erotic aspects of the story really do give more depth to the reasons Matthew and Luca give up so much in the end to be together. The problem was, I kept getting thrown back and forth between past memories, future wishes and present time. I’d keep reading not sure where I was but liking the story anyway. There is a lot of foundation given to get to the end, but it does make for an entertaining read.
Santa’s Helper by C. Beaumont
Great sex, fast pace, hot men and entertaining. For this alone, the anthology is worth picking up, but the other two stories are good as well. I will say that Simon was a bit of a doormat in some places but he’s so damn loveable, I didn’t care. The story isn’t heavy on plot, but has enough substance that it isn’t just a lot of sex…even though it has a lot of curl-the-toes sex.
Tricksy the Christmas Elf by Troy Storm
This story had a bit of grit. It’s crass and vulgar in the most deliciously naughty way. There was a bit of retelling on the story through both characters POV which dragged the story down a bit. But it quickly picks back up. With all the festive descriptions, you can’t help but smile.
Sexy and so very naughty, this is a great holiday anthology.

Throughout time, male descendants of the Kringle Family have been chosen to fulfill the iconic role of Santa for a period of one hundred years. At the end of each century, Father Time would grant the wish of that century’s Santa before choosing the new one.
Matthew Carpenter is on his last night as this century’s beloved Santa Claus. He has spent much of his time feeling lonely and sad for all that he has given up. He’s never regretted being Santa. It was just the loneliness.
Right now, he’s worried that when Father Time arrives, he won’t have an answer to the question: What is your heart’s greatest desire?
Father Time, on the other hand, has already set things in motion with someone special from Matthew’s past…Luca.
I can’t begin to say how much I’ve truly enjoyed this story. It’s fresh, original and so damn heartwarming that I was blubbering in my tuna sandwich. Seriously.
The intimacy between Matthew and Luca is so tender and loving that you can’t help but feel for them. Oh and the ending? The ending is just too sweet for words, trust me on this.
It’s just a wonderful, wonderful piece of work.

Simon is questioning his sanity when he applies for a job as a department store elf. Being around a bunch of screaming and crying kids is one thing, but having to face his ex-lover is another. Kevin dumped him months ago, declaring that he was straight. Simon couldn’t believe it, especially when the heat between them is enough to melt the holiday village in the Cypress Bend mall. Kevin acts like the typical manager in front of everyone but behind closed doors, he takes advantage of Simon’s weakness for him. All that is about to change when Santa steps in…
I wasn’t too sure what to think about this one at first. I read it again, thinking that I might have missed something. Simon was an emotional young man that was having a hard to saying no, even though it was making him feel like a piece of meat. Once he realized that he was worth so much more than that, he was able to let go of Kevin and move on.
Santa is a surprise in his maturity, his intelligence and how he makes Simon feel. This is what turned it for me. I was left feeling that there was an HEA for the two of them and that’s always good in my book.

Santa and Tricksy the Elf are right on each other with the sexual innuendos and the outrageous flirting. It didn’t even take a day before they were checking out Santa’s South Pole (their words, not mine)
This is pure RAUNCHINESS. It doesn’t let up from the moment they lock eyes until the end of the story. Santa and Tricksy used every word associated with the Christmas Holiday, be it their colorful descriptions of their, ahem, male parts to their costumes. Goodness gracious.
Somewhere in there, Tricksy has a thing about the idea of Santa. He can’t separate the two and when he tried, he freaked out. Santa, on the other hand, is smart enough to realize what’s going on with Tricksy and lets him know that it’s okay, that it will work out between them.
I don’t know what to say about this one other than I won’t be able to look at any Holiday Village in the mall without thinking about this Santa and his Number One Elf.
This story is fast, hot, raunchy and just all over the place if you are looking for a quick erotic read. Make sure you have a fan, too.
