Risso Family, 1
Lia Risso walked in on her fiancé and three other women on Valentine’s Day. Two celibate years later, her roommate creates a profile for Lia on a dating website—without her knowledge—and sets up a date. On Valentine’s Day.
Ryan Walsh, a self-made millionaire and libertine, refuses to commit to any one woman. Tossed from foster home to foster home as a child, Ryan is on guard against becoming vulnerable ever again.
One dinner…one night of dancing and flirting puts both Lia and Ryan in danger of heart break.
They have a choice—open themselves to the possibility of hurt or walk away, never knowing what might have been.
My nerve endings stirred as the subtle scent of sandalwood wafted across the table time and again. What man used sandalwood-scented soap anymore? By the cut of his suit and the Rolex on his wrist, Ryan Walsh had money. And plenty of it. Why no expensive cologne? The chick-lure nectar of the gods his type bathed in?
He grinned again, and heat filled the empty place only Mr. Pink had seen or stroked in two years. Ryan’s attention drifted to my lips and lingered as our waiter took his time pouring our wine.
I forced myself to breathe as my treasonous nipples pebbled, begging for attention.
Damnation. I do not want this.
He was too friggin’ sexy for his own good. And by his suggestive grin and the twinkle in his eyes, he knew it too.
“Are you ready to order, Lia?” Ryan asked, his focus staying on my face instead of dipping downward like most men’s did.
Praying my voice didn’t betray my arousal, I turned my attention the waiter. “I’ll have the shrimp Fra Diavlo.”
“And for you, sir?”
Ryan spouted off a few words in Italian, never once breaking eye contact with me.
My lips twitched. Papa would be impressed.
When the waiter ambled away, a smile—a real smile, not the cocky, you-know-you-want-me ones he had offered until then—revealed straight, white teeth. “So.”
His low voice caressed my ears, and I pressed my thighs together. Thank God I hadn’t shaved. No doubt he had little trouble getting women into his bed. Or their bed. Or against a wall.

Great start to this series. Large, noisy Italian family with drop dead gorgeous hunks? Yeah, what's not to like? This is a lovely tale of finding true love, when you least expect it. The author draws you in with her fabulous story stelling, until you feel you're right there with the characters, rooting for them. Part of Evernight's Romance on the Go series (short stories that satisfy your romance fix) this makes the perfect bedtime read to ensure you get to sleep with a soppy grin on your face. At least I did :-)

Lia's two years past a bad breakup from a cheating ex and Ryan's childhood was anything but ideal. Even though they were coaxed and thrown into their initial meeting, these two somewhat broken people find something in each other that has a healing quality.
This is a short, sexy little number with a lot of heat. Not much in the way of deep story-lines, but it's a novella and a series. Packed a punch for a short read too. Satisying and fun. I'd definitely read more from Burke.

This short story is the beginning of a new series and it promises to be e a good one if this book is anything to go by.
Lia had a bad breakup and for the past couple of years has been trying to deal with the emotional aftermath. He best friend and roommate sets her up on a blind date with Ryan. I really thought the family dynamic with Lia's family has a ton of potential and can't wait to see where this series takes us next.

This short story was very well written and I enjoyed reading this book. Although short it does cover quite a bit of information on the characters. It also makes me want to learn more about the other characters in this story and how Lia & Ryan make out long term. Starts out fast and to the point but then slows down enough to get your pulse pumping for them to pick the pace back up. I loved it!

If you want a quick read with romance and a bit of steam that will get your nether regions going, read this!
This was a great contemporary read that I finished in one day. It left me smiling for the hero and heroine.
Lia needs to move past the hurt of finding her fiance in bed with other women (plural). In her mind this is a shock, she thought she had a loving relationship. Good thing she has an awesome, albeit horny, roommate. Someone has got to push Lia back out into the dating pool after two years.
What can I say about Ryan? He seems like the boy next door once he opens up. Granted he is a very rich boy next store who has a great car and an even more impressive body. The entire time he is a charmer with a very genuine side. He's that man every woman would love to meet and marry. He might have all the charms of a lady's man, but deep down he's just another guy looking for love.
This book is steamy at points with a sweet budding romance.
