Wylde Bears, 2

Talia Landon, a red fox shifter with a weight complex, knew she was in trouble when she saw Ford Wylde for the first time. The alpha bear shifter was the type of male she should stay away from. It was clear he was far too experienced in sex, but what was supposed to be a one-night stand turns into a mating with a Wylde bear.

Ford wasn't going to give up Talia, not after he marked her as his mate. But when Ford's ex-girlfriend, Mina, comes back to Sweet Water after ten years, he knows he has to be honest about his relationship with Talia. Things get sticky when Mina shows an interest in him again, but Ford makes it known that Talia is his, and nothing and no one was going to get in the way of him claiming his female.

Be Warned: spanking, rimming

“I want it rough, Ford. I want to feel you on every part of my body.” A gasp left her when she felt his canines scrape along her shoulder. He growled, a true bear-like sound that had her tightening her thighs around his waist. His dick was hard between her thighs, hot and thick, and she wanted it inside of her now.

“Fuck, Talia. What are you doing to me?” He sounded pained as he murmured against her neck. Was he having second thoughts? The feel of his jean-clad erection pressed between her thighs told her he was right there with her, but he sounded as though he was unsure. “I want this, but this is all new to me.”

She gripped the sides of his face and lifted his head up. The room was shrouded in shadows, but she could see a lot of emotions passing across his face. The prominent one was this darkness that seemed to take over him, tightening his body and having a flash of self-hatred taking control. Her fox could sense it, and her human could as well, and that meant he wasn’t trying to conceal it, or he couldn’t control it.

“I just want to feel you tonight.” Talia didn’t want to say the next part, but knew she had to make him realize that his fears of her wanting more, whether she actually did or didn’t, were unfounded. Just looking at him told her he wasn’t the type of guy to have something meaningful, not when he was clearly so hurt by his past. “I just want you to touch me. I’m not asking for anything more.” The sound that came from him was rugged, but she knew he wouldn’t deny either of them what was inevitable.

“Shit.” The clouds of his inner turmoil passed along his face like a raging storm. She was set on the bed and watched with unleashed anticipation and arousal as he all but tore his own clothing from his body, tossed them aside, and grabbed a condom. His cock was huge, long, and thick. Even in the darkness she could see the tip dotted with a bead of pre-cum. The fact he was just as frantic for this as she was had a powerful surge of energy moving through her. He sheathed his massive erection, and for several long moments all he did was stare at her, spread out on his bed like some kind of offering. She knew what she looked like: her thighs spread out, her pussy on display, and her breasts thrust out.

“Hell, Talia. I am going to take you so fucking hard.” He was staring between her thighs, and ran his hand over his mouth, like he was about to lose it. “Get on your belly, baby.”

Her heart was thumping so damn hard it was almost impossible to hear him. When she was on her belly Ford gripped her ankles, yanked her roughly to the edge of the bed, and gripped her inner thighs right before he thrust them open. The tips of her toes touched the ground, and then he was ripping her panties from her body. She couldn’t breathe, couldn’t think as he slapped his palms on the mounds of her ass so hard the sting traveled up her back.

“God, your fucking ass was made for my cock.” His words were so rough, so hoarse, that it was like he was more bear than man at this moment. He lifted his hand, and she only had a split second to realize what he was doing before he did it. He slapped her ass again, and again, and again, until the blood rushed violently to the surface. Ford alternated between her cheeks, and soon started working his erotic spanking down the back of her thighs. Never had Talia experienced this, but she couldn’t lie and say it didn’t make her wetter than anything before. The spankings seemed to go on and on, and Ford’s low, husky whispers seemed to fuel him on even more. “You skin is so fucking hot and red from my hands.” His lips replaced where he had just spanked her ass, and his tongue moved along her deliciously abused flesh as if washing the sting away.

Romancing the Book
Written by Crystal on 15th Jul 2014

I try not to have someone that I just really hate in a book but I will have to say that it didn’t work out for this book. Mina is one mean, rich girl that gets anything she wants and doesn’t care who she hurts in the process. She’s always going to cheat on the one she is with and not think twice about it. Mina is like the wicked witch in the fairy tales. When Ford found out that his girlfriend of six years had been cheating on him he went off. He knew that something was wrong because she could never wait to leave and when they had sex she never got into it anymore. If Ford is the way that he is described in this book I would never let him go. It almost makes him lose his one true mate ten years later. He knows that he can’t fight it and he just needs to give in. His bear is taking no chances and will take over if he needs to. Talia knows that she didn’t get the good looks in her family and she is a little over weight. That changes when she meets Ford. He makes her see herself in a different life. Talia just wishes she could stop her brother from marrying Mina and making them all miserable. Even though she doesn’t know Ford all that much her fox feels safe with him and she always trust her fox. I never thought I would see the day that a fox and bear mated but it seems in this series that you can’t mate with the same animal that you are. That was something that I didn’t see coming and I really hated it when I found out that this was the second book in the series. I really don’t believe that I am missing anything but I will be going back and reading the first book so that I can read the third. I really hope that Talia’s brother finds the right woman for him. That part was really sad in this book and I won’t give too much away. I don’t want to ruin the story for anyone. This is an author that I have been reading from just recently. I saw that she wrote books with another author that I liked and I knew that I would like her books. I liked the story line and I want more now.

Ford Wylde fell hard for Mina and she betrayed his love and destroyed him. Now he is more of a loner than ever before. You can forget his ever taking his heart out from behind the armor he has encased it in and falling for someone else. Now women are only a temporary past time. Then Mina returns to Sweetwater to get married and she wants to meet with Ford and pick up where they left off. Ford just wants to forget he ever knew her, especially after he walks into the coffee shop and scents his mate Talia. Soon he is hunting Talia down ready to claim her and settle down, but she is not so sure. Then there is Mina in the background, more than ready to stir up trouble for all concerned. What chance do the two have when the vindictive Mina won't accept that Ford has chosen someone over her and she is ready to do just about anything she can to turn him on to her and lure him back to her bed. Ford, a bear shifter is the most enigmatic of the Wylde Brothers, broody, short tempered and alluring. There is something about him that draws you in and makes you want to cuddle up to him like a teddy bear, but be warned he has claws and fangs and is not afraid to use them. Talia Landon could be any of us after we have been knocked down a time or two. She is still strong enough to defend those she loves but is unsure of her own self-importance in the main scheme of things. You will love Talia and Ford as well as all the bold characters Jenika snow has created for our reading enjoyment. Take a load off and find somewhere comfortable to curl up and enjoy the Wylde brothers. Each in the series can be read as a standalone, but the series is better as a whole. Start with book one and going from there. The best part is that Ms. Snow returns to Sweetwater after the three Wylde bear brother’s stories. The spinoff series is called Sweetwater and you will definitely want to read it as well. Thank you Ms. Snow for sharing your shifters with us.

Fox shifter, Talia Landon, has come to town for her brother’s wedding. The bride turns out to be Mina, the ex-fiance of Ford Wylde’s who broke his heart ten years before, leaving him angry and swearing never to trust love again. When Talia needs a break from her future sister-in-law, Bridezilla Mina, she sneaks away and goes to the coffee house around the corner. There she runs into Ford Wylde literally, spilling her her scalding hot Cappuccino. Ford quickly rips her blouse open and places a cold cloth on her burns, embarrassed Talia runs away. Ford could not get the little fox shifter out of his head all day so he agrees to got out drinking with his brother Bram at a local bar, the same bar Talia and her brother and his friends are going to. What happens when Ford finds the woman he can’t forget is within range again. Will he listen to his bear and his heart or will the past destroy his chance at future with Talia? When all the clues fall into place and and Ford and Talia figure out how Mina fits, will Ford blame her? Go back to Mina? Claim Talia as his own? Or walk away from both? You will totally enjoy this second installment of the Wylde Bears. It was a fun quick read. Although it can be read as a stand alone, but I recommend reading Bared For Her Bear and Fighting Dirty For His Girl. The entire series is so great. Come and enjoy it with me.

Love the Wylde Brothers!

If you have read Bared for her Bear then you get a little of Ford's story. He is seems so angry and doesn't want to get hurt again, so he shut's off everyone by drinking and sleeping around. Then Talia walks into his life and his world is turned upside down. Ford is such a domineering man while Talia is more reserved but in the book they work great together. Love the fact that Talia is a real women with curves and the inner struggles she has with her self image is brought out . All in all great book. A must read! Can't wait for Bram's story hope someone can bring him to his knees!

Long and Short of It Reviews

A Fox Between the Bear’s Sheets is the second book in the Wylde Bears series. This fantastic tale comes to the readers courtesy of the very talented Jenika Snow. This was my first book by this author and I have to say that I liked it a lot. I was pulled into the story right away, easily connecting with the main characters, Ford and Talia. It’s important to me that I like the characters that I’m reading about and that their story is interesting to read. No problem with this book, as I found myself cheering for Ford and Talia from start to finish. Ford is a bear that has been burned before. A cheating woman broke his heart and left him a bit broken. He is living a life filled with meaningless hook ups, and thinks that is all that’s left to him now. Until he meets his mate and things turn around rather fast for him. I liked Ford and wanted him to have the mate he deserved. There is nothing like an alpha hero who thinks he is broken to tug at my heart.Talia, a red fox shifter, has come to town for her brother’s wedding. She thinks her brother is making a mistake and wishes he would change his mind before it’s too late. But she is determined to be by his side even though she can’t stand the bride. Then comes a chance meeting with a sexy bear and her visit starts to get interesting. Things heat up pretty fast for Talia and Ford. The chemistry was off the charts for these two characters. The author gave them some sizzling love scenes that were very well written and passionate. They realize that they are mates and things are going good. Then their close connection comes to light and their relationship gets tumultuous for a while. The tension between them was palpable. Personally, I loved the drama. I guess you could say that they had some things to resolve. Ford has to figure out his feelings for his scheming ex and put away his anger at how he got played. Talia was pretty well adjusted character, but she did have some small self esteem problems. I just want to say that it was nice that the author gave me a heroine that didn’t quite fit the usual mold though. Overall, Talia was a great heroine and I connected with her personally. She wasn’t a drama queen. She knew that she would never be the perfect size. And she would be second best for no one. She totally rocked ! This book was so well written. The author did a good job on fleshing out the characters and cutting away the fluff. The back story was developed in a great way and helped to make the heroes actions more believable to me. The storyline flowed with ease and everything made sense to me. That’s another deal breaker for me as a reader. Everything has to make sense and happen for a reason. This story did that for me. The love scenes were hot. I think I touched on that already but want to add that Ford was a dirty talker. That was another good point for me. Ahem …. just saying. I want to close out my praise by commenting on how compelling I found the characters to be. All of them. The villainous ex was a manipulative character that I could hate. The supporting characters were interesting as well. Now I am eager to get to Bram’s book next. I think that he has some layers that will make an interesting story. So I am already looking forward to that later on today. I enjoyed this book. I will be recommending Jenika Snow to all of my book reading friends. That says a lot when I personally recommend an author to my friends. To me this says they made the cut. So, happy reading to everyone.

Smexy Bear Shifter
Written by April Holgate on 17th Nov 2013

I think For can easily make it onto my fav smexy bear list!!! He is just so delicious!!! Loved this book!! First, in order to get to the awesome part of the book you have to get through the first two chapters, that are rather angsty for the hero and he is less than likable at times. But is is important to understand his back story and why he is so gun-shy. The third chapter is where the romance comes in and the story really picks up momentum. Loads of great story telling and a fabulous dynamic between Ford and Talia. I really loved them together!! Such a delight to see the beginnings of something special. This time the pacing was right on point. Steady story action balanced out with bedroom action. Now I am always a big fan of the bear shifters, let me tell you this one does not disappoint in the steam factor!! Hold onto your panties girls cause it is off the freakin hook!!! Or just leave the panties off cause you will go through a weeks supply reading all the hot and heavy pounding in this book!! Oh, and swoon, Ford is a dirty talker!! Yeah, it was seriously hot and I was highlighting smexy scenes to review again later!! Can not wait to see what happen with baby bear bro Bram!

Tugs At Your Heartstrings
Written by Cheryl Marcus on 6th Nov 2013

What can I say? Ford is the epitome of a tortured soul. Yet, given a chance, even he may be redeemable. Jenika Snow has a marvelous way of portraying this in a heartwarming and very sexy way. Riveted throughout, totally satisfied by the end. Only wish there were more than 3 Wylde brothers to read about.

Talia was super!!

I really enjoyed reading Ford's story. Things really changed for Ford and it was fun watching him try to sort things out. Talia was a great girl, it was too bad she had to be around Mina. Talia was so sweet and protective of her brother. Great story I am looking forward to reading Bram's story.
