I loved this book from first to last. It starts off steamy then keeps you laughing all the way to the poignant end with a very clever plotline. I almost choked with laughter when a scruffy cat named Rooster Cogburn entered the scene. (I’m a fan of old Westerns. Speaking of movies, this would make a great one. I could really visualize the action.) Personally, my absolute favorite scene involved a mechanical bull. The author’s excellent at capturing the sense of places from page 1, with the smell inside a casino. I hope to read more of this author’s work soon.
What’s a girl to do when she needs a night of no-lasso-attached sex, with a healthy dollop of fantasy cowboy on top? For Paige Tomlinson, the not so easy answer is, to hire an escort.
Mistaken identity has never gone so right.
Remington Parker is the wrong cowboy at the right time. Not used to being anyone’s fantasy, he’s willing to strip down to give Paige what she needs, even if it’s just for one night.
Can reality outshine a fantasy?
Add OCD tendencies, a missing groom, a bridezilla, and a stripper named Destiny to the mix, and the result is a weekend to remember, and a cowboy in her bed.
“Listen … Bl— Um, what’s your name?” he asked.
She didn’t look at him as she rearranged the items on the bed, smallest to largest. Her tone was far too casual. “Greta’s aunt said not to use names. If I needed something to moan while we’re in the middle of being intimate, to call you Mr. G. You can call me whatever.”
Good God. A visual of her moaning beneath him crept to the forefront of his mind. What would it take to unlock this woman’s rigid exterior? He balled his hands into fists and shoved them in his lap. Blondie expected a fantasy, and he seriously doubted a disgruntled rancher was what she’d had in mind. “There’s been a misunderstanding.”
Her full lips pulled into a frown as she faced him. “I know I’m not as pretty as your other clientele, and not nearly as rich, but if I have to hear one more of my friends say I need to get laid, I’m going to explode.” She removed her glasses and placed her hand over her eyes. “Ugh, this is so embarrassing. I just need a release. Four hours of being the most important woman in the room. Fucked like I’ve never been fucked before. Does that make me crazy?”
Crazy? Absolutely. The entire situation was crazy, but she was serious, and a tug in the middle of his chest pulled him to his feet.
Rem moved across the room in two clipped steps and pulled her hand away from her face. He stared into the most serious pair of green eyes he’d ever seen. No, she wasn’t crazy. She was lonely and horny. Hell, he could relate to both. He took in her pert nose sprinkled with freckles. His gaze traveled past her chin to the smooth skin peeking out from her tightly buttoned shirt. It was a shame she didn’t see herself as pretty. The desire to bring a fiery glow to her serious eyes belted him like a shotgun blast.
He wanted to be her fantasy even if just for one night.
Rem pressed a finger against her lips to stop the tale-tell twitching, hoping she’d shut up long enough for him to get out a few sentences. He slid his free hand around her waist, and she sucked in a small breath.
“I want to make sure I’m clear on this situation. You are a single woman, looking for a no strings attached night of consensual fucktastic sex with a man you don’t ever have to see again?”
Blondie’s head glided up and down against his finger still pressed to her full lips. The shiny film of her lip gloss stuck to his finger and his cock hardened, swelling uncomfortably inside his jeans.
“Go put on that nightie.”
Rem is my kind of cowboy=hot! Okay besides that he is loyal, patient and runs a western rescue horse ranch. Paige loves to be in control which works great for her business as a special events planner. Usually. But when she meets Rem things go oh so wrong they can only lead to something right. I read this in one sitting. I can't wait to read more of Ms. Waller's humor and great characters. PS. Now thanks to Paige I know just where our 50th wedding anniversary will be celebrated.
Mistaken identity is at an entirely new level in this book. A super uptight gal needs a little R&R once in awhile--and she's distracted by her duties with the wedding, so she mistakes a sexy cowboy as an escort for hire. Hey, it can happen. This book is laugh out loud funny! And haven't we all wanted to be whisked away into a hotel room for a night with a stranger, especially if the guy is hot and named Remington? Trust me, you don't want to miss this one.
