Dragon Warriors, 1

Eilagh and her four best friends escape their jobs and lives for a few days to go camping. Fate intervenes and they get whipped away through a portal to The Land of Feury while hiking.

The Land of Feury has a problem. A virus killed off all their females years ago and Dimitri, their leader, has no idea how to solve the issue. When Dimitri’s twin, Max, finds a group of five unconscious females he can only hope of what might happen. When Dimitri and Max realize one of the females, Eilagh, is their Destined they are overjoyed.

But there is trouble brewing, and an uprising against Dimitri causes two of the women to be kidnapped. Will they be able to rescue their Destined and her friend in time? Will these five females prove to be the saviors their race has been praying for?

"Come on, just look at Uluru with all her colors out. What's not to love?"

"You do know Uluru does that at night, too? When the sun sets?" Skye said with a wink.

With them all now chuckling, they headed back into the tent to get dressed and packed up for the day ahead.

An hour later, they were all fed, caffeinated, and packed up. As they hiked toward Kata Tjuta, Eilagh swore she could smell honey in the air.

"Can any of you smell honey all of the sudden?" She took a deep breath, confirming the air around them did indeed smell sweet.

"Yeah, now you mention it. I wonder where the hive is?" Becky said.

"Nowhere near here I hope! I'm enjoying myself, and a bee sting would seriously dent that enjoyment," Binda ground out. Binda was allergic to bees. She carried an EpiPen with her always just in case, but still, prevention was so much better than cure.

"I can't hear them. If we were close enough to a hive to smell the honey we should be able to hear the buzz," Eilagh wondered out loud.

"Well, let's just keep exploring. If we start to hear buzzing we'll change direction," Skye suggested.

They continued hiking up the dry creek bed they'd been following when all of a sudden a strong gust of wind shot past them from a gorge between two of the large boulders to their left.

"That was just plain weird, and now I can smell fresh apples!" Binda exclaimed.

"Okay, we just gotta go check that out. No way could apples be growing out here in the middle of the outback," Becky said as she began making her way toward the gorge.

Eilagh and the others followed after Becky toward the gorge. As they entered the cool shadows of the gorge's high sides, the wind picked up around them. Eilagh frowned as she moved to stand closer to the others. The wind picked up speed, going faster and faster, spinning around them picking up dust and small rocks from the ground. Before long there was enough dust in the air that they couldn't see through it. It was as if a cyclone surrounded them. Her chest began to tighten in fear as she moved her hand toward the wall of wind to see if she could push through to escape. She couldn't even get close. She was still inches away from the wall when she heard a crackle of electricity and lightning began to spark before her. A bolt struck out past her with a bright flash and she heard Carina scream, but before she could turn to see if she was all right, another bolt struck out. This time Skye screamed. Two more bolts quickly followed. Terror coursed through Eilagh’s body, making her shake uncontrollably as she turned to see that she was the only one standing. The others lay at her feet—out cold.

She looked up as she heard another crackle, and her gaze caught an image through the wind. A man with blood red hair and bronzed skin. She leaned forward to see better when she felt a jolt hit her between her shoulder blades, causing her to scream out in agony as black spots formed across her vision.

Eilagh Kala Judd and her friends, Skye, Carina, Binda and Becky, have decided to take some time off from jobs, families and responsibilities and enjoy a hiking and camping get-away. As they begin their hike their first full day out, they are engulfed in a windstorm and each woman falls unconscious after being struck by lightening. Dimitri does not know what else he can do about the plight of his people. The Laiths came and released a virus that was to kill all of the dragon shifters, but only killed all the children and females. Leaving only the warriors behind to seek revenge and remove the Laiths from their land. His twin Max takes him out to the apple orchard to discuss a possible revolt by certain members of the clan. When Dimitri returns to his office, Max is left behind when a windstorm drops five female humans before him. When he comes to the last female, instinct takes over and he knows he will do everything within his power to protect her. More importantly he knows she is meant for him. Eliagh is his fated mate. There is only one problem — when Dimitri arrives he feels the same thing. What is the meaning of these five women being sent by the goddess to their world? Can they be convinced to stay? Can they stay? Are these women the answer to the survival of the clan? I was drawn into the story from the first page. I imagine a near Eden world of the dragons. A world untouched by pollution as ours is. After all, why would a flying dragon need a car or plane? Each of the five woman are such independent souls, each with their own strengths and private troubles to over come. The men that try to claim them will need to be strong enough to recognize their need for freedom and smart enough to show them that the greatest freedom is in their arms.

So good

Twin Dragon Shifter Hotness!
Written by VaudevilleMomma on 13th Aug 2014

Fantastic and delightful beginning to the Dragon Warriors series! I've seen books in this genre get bogged down with too much 'backstory' or description of a new plane. The author found the perfect balance between past and present in a manner that did not pull from the mail story. And who doesn't love a bit of dragon naughtiness?!?! I eagerly await the rest of the series. Can't wait to see what happens with the rest of the ladies. I received a copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

This book was awesomely written! It has a great blend of backstory and present storytelling. The twins are definitely hot as are the hints of other dragon shifters you get! Can not wait for the second book to come out! I received this book in exchange for an honest review.
