Dark Lust series

Payton has isolated herself from everyone and everything she has ever known after a vampire brutally killed her mother. Living in the mountains, away from civilization, is the only way Payton knows how to cope. When a storm blows through and she is snowed in, she won’t be alone for long.

An injured man shows up on her doorstep—a vampire. She discovers Kristofer isn’t a monster at all, but a man who has been a prisoner of his cruel brother for the last fifty years.

As Kristofer and Payton grow closer, an evil force threatens to split them apart. It isn’t until she comes face-to-face with her mother’s killer that she realizes she and Kristofer have more in common than she thought.

Excerpt

“Your pussy smells so sweet, Payton. It drives me wild.” He growled against my skin and the vibrations went straight to my nipples and clit. I felt them swell and harden further.

His finger went between our bodies again and he started to rub my clit in slow, measured circles. I gasped at the intensity that small act caused and closed my eyes as pleasure coursed through me. I let myself absorb what I was feeling, let my body and mind become one and just feel. His finger continued moving down and teased circles around my opening. He pressed in slowly and I felt the burn from his thick finger as it stretched my pussy. If this was how his finger felt I was in for one hell of a ride when his cock replaced it. He started to finger fuck me, pushing the thick digit into my hole and then bringing it out quickly. The sound of sucking wetness filled my ears and made me hotter.

“You feel so tight, Payton, so warm and hot.” He dragged his tongue up my neck and gently bit my earlobe. “I want you, so fucking bad.”

His crass language was my breaking point. I tore my shirt over my head and he got off of the couch to remove his clothing. There were no words needed, I could see the scorching desire in his gaze and I’m sure mine was a reflection of his. I felt the loss of his body heat immediately. My nipples puckered into tight buds, so hard they ached. My legs were still splayed open and I could feel the warm liquid of my desire slip out of my pussy and down the crack of my ass.

“You are so beautiful, so pink, so wet.” His gaze was riveted to my pussy and I felt a twinge of embarrassment at the thought of what he was staring at. No doubt it was glistening, swollen and red from my arousal.

When he started to remove his clothes my mouth went dry and my eyes widened. His shirt was the first thing to go, and when it did my pulse picked up. Rippling muscle covered his chest, ropes of sinew and tendons running just beneath the alabaster skin. His wounds were healed on his chest, but even if they had still been there I knew it wouldn’t have taken away from the beauty of his body.

His hands went to the button of his pants and he slowly removed them. He wore no underwear beneath them, and when they fell to the ground and I got a look at his fully erect shaft, my pussy clamped down tight. He had been impressive flaccid, but now, all hard and leaking pre-cum at the tip, he was monstrous. I was honestly frightened for a moment that he wouldn’t fit.

My gaze skimmed to the gnashes in his leg and I was pleasantly surprised that all that remained were raised pink scars. With more time, those too would be gone. He moved closer and I could see a small limp in his step. It was clear there was still damage beneath the surface.

I flicked my gaze to his, saw his eyes skim over my body. He stepped closer and ran the tips of his fingers over my arm and along the underside of my breasts. I would have never expected to see this kind of gentleness from a vampire, but then again, everything about Kristofer was like nothing I had ever known or thought possible. He teased my areola and I looked down to see the traitorous tissue tighten under his ministrations.

“You are so responsive to me.” He glanced up at me and I couldn’t help but shiver.

I grew bold, grew needy for him. I sat up, ran my hands up and down his thighs and then urged him closer. I stared at the thick, hard flesh in front of my face, saw the slit weep with clear fluid and leaned in. I ran my tongue across the head, tasting his strong, salty essence and wanting more. He groaned above me and I knew he liked what I was doing. I sucked the head in and ran my tongue along the underside of his cock. The thick vein that lay just under the skin pulsed beneath my tongue.

“Oh fuck, Payton. Your mouth feels so good.” His hands went to my head at the same time his hips jerked forward ever so slightly.

I hollowed out my mouth and tried to take as much of him in as I could. It was no easy feat and I could only get half of his cock into my mouth. I hummed in satisfaction when I tasted a spurt of his cum fill my mouth. Gripping the root of his shaft, I started to stroke what I couldn't suck. I ran my other hand up to his abdomen, felt the muscles of his six-pack flex and tighten under my palm, and sucked harder.

“Wait,” he grunted, his thighs shaking, his orgasm close. Just when I thought he would explode in my mouth, he pulled away. I panted and looked up at him. I licked my lips, still able to taste him.

He groaned. “When you do that I find it hard to control myself.”

Black Raven Reviews
Written by BRR on 28th Apr 2013

The Craving by Jenika Snow doesn’t seem like a fifty two page short story. There is so much that happens, it seems like a full story, and I would have loved to have seen become one because there is so much potential for it to have been longer, but it was good the way it was. The Craving is written in the first person, from Payton’s point of view who happens to be the heroine. Payton hates anything having to do with vampires since one killed her mother, and has isolated herself from the world. So imagine her surprise when during a major storm a man, who ends up being a vampire, is found half conscious on her door step. Kristofer has escaped the clutches of his brother who has held him captive for the last fifty years and ends up on Payton’s porch injured. As Payton nurses him back to health and they grow more comfortable with each other, she learns that not all vampires are evil killers. Though the storm holds off a threat to them both, when it is over they will have to fight for their lives or be lost to each other forever. I actually try to avoid short stories because they tend to lack too much detail for my liking, but this was a really good short story. Jenika Snow took a chance with this and I think she did a great job. There were some twists and turns I didn’t expect which made me enjoy it even more.

Sizzling Hot Book Reviews
Written by undefined on 17th Apr 2012

Payton's family was killed by vampires and since than she wants nothing to do with the world. She buys a cabin and lives in isolation because of vampires. The only time she leaves the cabin is once a month she travels into Sweetwater, Colorado for supplies. One night after going to town for supplies she finds a man outside her cabin, he is a vampire and is injured. She doesn't want to let him in but if not he might die. Kristofer and his two brothers have been kept captive by their older brother, Ellon. Ellon is a little nutty, and after fifty years Kristofer and the other two brothers manage to escape. They separate to keep Ellon off their tracks. But Ellon finds Kristofer and shows up at Payton's doors. I had such hope for The Craving but I have to say my biggest problem with it was I found parts that didn't add up. I feel that the editing could have been better. Also there were times, especially in the sex scenes that I felt it got a little repetitive, especially when Kristofer would keep saying "You feel so good." With a little more editing, The Craving could have been a much better story. Now that I said that I have to say that I felt Payton and Kristofer were great characters. Jenika does a great job with them and gives the reader a detailed back story on the characters. I would be interested in seeing Jenika writing more about Kristofer and his brothers. I would especially like to hear more about his two other brothers that escaped.

You Gotta Read Reviews

Payton’s mother had been killed by a vampire, and while she knew not all vampires were evil, she was still too petrified to remain in the midst of city crowds. Moving to the isolated mountains of Colorado, Payton is content with her solitary existence. It is during a horrible blizzard that Payton has to confront her fears and embrace who she has become. Kristopher is a vampire who has been held captive for over fifty years. He has finally escaped only to become lost and nearly frozen in the blizzard. Payton has a hard decision to make when she finds Kristopher half dead on her porch. This is a tight, sexy little read. I was pulled into the story immediately. There was even an eye popping surprise in the story. The characters and situations were believable and meshed beautifully. Payton was aware of her prejudices and though she fought to overcome them, when she brings Kristopher in to her life, she lays her cards on the table. As with all first person stories, I miss the male perspective. I mean, he HAS been held and tortured for fifty years, so I would have loved a peek into his thoughts. I sincerely hope that Ms. Snow will bring Kristopher’s brothers forward. I would really like to read their books as well.

Coffee Time Romance

Payton Marshall has left life behind to bury her head in the snow in order to forget the nightmare that changed her life. What does a lady do when her worst nightmare knocks on her door? Kristofer Ashakov has been held prisoner by the one person he should have been able to trust. He is saved by an angel with no reason to show mercy. Payton and Kritofer find more together than they ever had apart. But the secrets from the past may destroy their future unless they unite and fight together. Jenika Snow writes an outstanding series of books whose main focus are vampires and the women they come to love. I found The Craving a steamy read with an explosion of passion. There are a few twists in the story that take the reader on a wild read, and their timely revelation at the end provides a shocking ending. The Dark Lust Series and The Craving are highly recommended books which highlight the outstanding writing of Jenika Snow.

Happily Ever After Reviews
Written by LynnMarie on 9th May 2011

LynnMarie's Review Can you say, hot cover?? I was spoiled after reading The Taste of Blood and its four sexy vampires. The second book in the Dark Lust series is about one vampire, Kristofer, and the woman who learns to love him. But even not being a menage, it doesn't lack in passion or well written description. Peyton has ill feelings for all vamps after the murder of her mother years ago. She keeps in hiding, living a life of solitude. When an injured vampire shows up on her doorstep during a storm, she's skeptic about even helping him, but does. She quickly learns that Kristofer is unlike the evil vamp she remembered when she was a child. He's gentle, and considerate, and extremely sexy as he recovers to full health. The sex scenes in The Craving are scorching and very sexually descriptive. Jenika has a way with words and I enjoyed her first person perspective, even though I usually only read it in young adult books. The twist near the end was unexpected and intriguing, tempting me to re-read the whole novella. For a short, erotic vampire read, The Craving provides an entertaining experience. I look forward to the next book in the Dark Lust series. 4 Tea Cups!

Night Owl Reviews TOP PICK!
Written by Ursshebear on 22nd Apr 2011

Jenika Snow's novel, "The Craving" is really quite the read. I found it a little slow at first as I was not used to the first person writing, but as the story went on, I became more and more involved in the storyline. I loved how Jenika developed Payton's character and Payton's acceptance of Kristofer as their romance grew. There is a surprise towards the end which I'll leave for the reader to find. All in all, "The Craving" is a good novel and well worth reading.

Hot erotic vampire story!
Written by Monica HM on 31st Mar 2011

I really liked this story. I don't normally write reviews which I am sure a lot of people say. This is the second Jenika Snow book I have read, the first one being The Taste of Blood. Although I like books with more than one hero with the female character, I liked this one a lot. Payton and Kristofer had good chemestry and the tension I felt throughout the story and wondering if the evil brother returned kept me turning the page. There was also a twist at the end that suprised me. I would reccommend this story to anyone who enjoys erotic vampire romances.
