Night Owl Erotica
Be careful what you yearn for, especially if you are in a foreign country apparently. Agata feels she is just floating through her own life. A satisfying job and a nice apartment but no mate. Not really knowing her birth parents other than their Norwegian roots, she learns some of the language and customs and uses them in her job, resulting in a trip to the mother country. And that's when things get interesting. I've often lamented at the demise of the alpha male. Society has succeeded in essentially emasculating the most recent generations and it's so sad. Agata finds out what an alpha is really like when she is mystically transplanted into an alternate universe with a man who takes one look and declares her his wife. There is a language barrier, her disorientation in general and the unbelievable reality that she's not in Kansas anymore. Or necessarily planet Earth for that matter. She does the expected, trying to escape and such, but finds herself totally drawn to her captor. And that's so wrong, but why does he make her feel so right? I loved Stian. His physical description is enough to get your motor running, but his displays of prowess in all forms are pretty impressive. Fighting, providing food and shelter and sex. He's patient, caring, but also determined. The language barrier forced these two to actually communicate in any way they could, and while they didn't fall into bed right away, sex was a great way to connect and build trust and a relationship on. I would dub this short read a guilty pleasure and recommend it to anyone who wants a little barbarian in their day.
