Night Owl Reviews
"Jungle Rapture" is the first book in the Jungle Queens series written by M.A. Jewell, who is a new author to me. I’m awfully glad I picked up this book, and the only negative thing I have to say is that I was bummed that it was so short. It’s one of Evernight’s short On The Go books. Shifter books are a genre that I’ve only gotten into over the past couple of years, and it’s a very fluid world other than they shift and want mates. Ms Jewell has written a richly, lush world for her story and I was so impressed with the detail and the characters. We pretty much deal with Kelsi Gorman and Jamie Salazar for the entirety. Kelsi finds herself in quite a bit of trouble with some poachers at the beginning of the book. Jamie is a black jaguar shifter who is trying to keep his identity secret, both as the giant black jaguar he is, and who his human side is. So he helps Kelsi out, but as a jaguar, until he has no choice but to reveal himself to her, because after all, she’s his mate. However, Kelsi has no clue who or what she is, and doesn’t believe or want Jamie as a mate. But after a day of violence, Kelsi has her eyes opened, but will she choose Jamie, or leave him? I was completely riveted to this book, and was close to having a bit of a bratty foot stomping moment because there wasn’t any more book to read. You’ll definitely want to check this one out, and I’ve found myself a new author to love
