The Forsaken Few, 1

The moment Moira Devereaux walks into his bar, shapeshifter Ronan Kelly knows she's going to be trouble. No matter how tempting she is, he won't risk the safety of his makeshift pack. He has every intention of sending her on her way until he hears her compelling story.

When Moira's father, the mayor of Lorelei, tries to force her to wed a man she doesn't know, she runs to the one place he won't follow. The local shifter bar. Nothing could have prepared her for the immediate attraction she feels for the owner, Ronan.

In a moment of weakness, Ronan offers her a job and a place to stay despite his misgivings. No one is more shocked than he is when he discovers that she's his mate. Will he be able to convince her that he's worth taking a risk on or will he be forced to let her go?

Twenty minutes later, his energy restored, he wandered into the kitchen. He grinned when he found Moira making a sandwich. “Hey, gorgeous,” he said, feeling lighter than he had in a very long time. He leaned in and pressed a kiss to her neck.

“Hungry?” she asked, tilting her head to the side. When he continued to press light kisses against her skin, she set the package of cold cuts down on the counter. Seconds later, she leaned back against him and gave a soft hum of pleasure.

“Not for food,” he murmured, nipping at the soft bit of skin just below her earlobe.

Moira pressed her hips back against him and playfully asked, “What are you hungry for then?”

He grabbed her and held her back against him. Then he moved his mouth so that it hovered just above her ear. “You know exactly what I want, cupcake. And you're gonna give it to me.”

“Oh, am I?” she teased, moaning softly when he began to rock his hips against hers. “What if I just wanted to eat this sandwich and go to bed?”

His hands slipped up to cup her breasts through the thin cotton tank top she wore. Stroking her nipples, he waited until she shivered against him. “I'll make you a deal.”

The voice trembled with need when she asked, “What kind of deal?”

“If I reach down into your panties, and I don't find you soaking wet,” he said, his hands trailing down her belly to work at the button of her jean shorts. “Then, by all means, have your sandwich and go to bed.”

“Okay,” she agreed, rocking her hips back against him, her feigned disinterest long gone.

“But if I do find your pussy as soaked as I think I'm gonna,” he continued, “then I own this body for the rest of the night. Sound fair?”

Moira gave a needy whimper in response. “Fair enough.”

“You sure about that, cupcake?” he asked, his own voice rough with need. “I'm not going to go easy on you.”

No longer able to manage the pretense of disinterest, Moira whispered, “I don't want you to.”

“You don't know what you're asking for.” He groaned, his fingers slowly dragging the zipper of her shorts down. At her shuddering breath, he slipped his hand inside her panties and said, “As I suspected. Cupcake, you're not going to sleep any time soon. You better have the sandwich, though. You might need your strength.”

“Fuck the sandwich,” Moira moaned. “Touch me.”

Moira and Ronan are sizzling hot in "Trouble Walked In" by Michelle Roth. From the first chapter I was obsessed with the book. I simply had to read it non stop. So far with all of Michelle Roth's books, I have ended up reading them more than once or twice. This book is no different. Her take on shape shifters in this book was done really well and wasn't cliche or "overdone". Her love scenes are hot yet tastefully filled with passion and seduces the reader to keep reading. I can't wait to read the next one.

The steamy scenes were hot. The story was great and characters' dialogues were very good. The story was well paced and the setting was realistic. Moira Devereaux is grasping for her last straw. What would you do if you were stuck between a rock and a hard place? In her desperation, she seeks refuge in a shifter bar. What will her dad do when he finds her? Moira and Ronan have a blazing attraction and flaming hot chemistry. Where will this lead? Is Ronan Kelly a blessing in disguise or the sexy bad boy your parents warned you about? I would answer: all above and then some. It’s nice to read about a book that isn't all rainbows and butterflies! This romance has an edgier feel. The story was exciting to read and I want more of these stories.

When I heard that Michelle Roth had a new shifter series coming out I was elated I just love paranormal romance and the fact that I no what an amazing author she is. Trouble Walked In is the first be in The Forsaken Few Series. From the very first moment Moira Devereaux saunters into shape shifter Ronan Kelly bar he just knows that this lady is going to be big trouble. In no time at all she proves him right, no matter how utterly tempting she is, he is not going risk the very safety of his makeshift pack they may be different but they are a family of sorts. He has every intention of sending her away... that is until he hears her story which makes him stop and re-evaluate the whole situation. Moira's father is the mayor of there town Lorelei, when he tries to force her in to marry a man she doesn't even know , she does the only thing she can think of.... she runs to the very place her father won't ever go. A local shifter bar. Nothing at all could have ever prepared her for what happens next … the pull the immediate and instant deep down attraction she feels for this man the owner of the bar, Ronan. In a split second, Ronan decides to offers her a job in the bar as well as a place to stay he just cant seem to let her go. To his ultimate shock he discovers that Moira is his mate he cannot believe this chance encounter and he has discovered the other part of his heart and soul. Will he ever be able to persuade her that he is worth the risk or will he have to let her go? Every time I pick up a book by Michelle Roth I get so excited, her books are just the best they are so engaging loving romantic sexy titillating …. I could go on and on but I guess you all get the picture, This new series will capture the hearts of many it reminded me of all the lost causes the strays all banding together as one dysfunctional family. When we first meet Moira we are all led to believe that she is a ballsy lady who is trying to con some of the shifters out of there money, but we soon learn she is nothing like what we first think. She is a lady on the run from her rich mayor daddy who wants to control her. She is not going to stand for any of his nonsense at all so going to one place her dad would never go to to seek refuge from his utter nonsense. Will she be able to find the right balance to her new found life or has she missed the obvious staring her right in the face. Ronan is a lovely guy he appears harsh on the outside but all he wants is a peaceful life just how he has managed to build it, he has had such a painful past full of complications. Ronan is the type of character you want to hug the heck out of he is such a tough nut but he has a heart of gold, even though he new Moira was trouble he just couldn't help himself stepping in to help after all he knows what it is like to have your world ripped apart as well as your hopes and dreams. I just loved both of these characters I adored Moira's Fierceness and Ronan how he doesn't push her is truly remarkable and shows his goodness that radiates he saves her from such an awful fate. And I have to mention how much I totally hated her father I wanted to reach in to the book and smack him silly …... My most favourite parts had to be. When Moira and Ronan are talking about mating mark and she freaks out your not peeing on me your not peeing on me.... lol it had me giggling like mad. And omg the love scene in the office will have you fanning yourself …. it is beyond sexy as hell. This book stole a part of my heart it is truly outstanding so well written, it shows you how talented Michelle Roth is and how spell binding her books are to one and all. I truly hope we see more of Moira and Ronan as these two are a pair to be reckoned with. 5 Out Of 5 Hearts from Cariad Books

love, and will take on anyone who jeopardizes it
Written by SiK Reviews "~*Karen*~" on 9th Sep 2015

Trouble walked in indeed. But not in the way Ronan thought. When Moira came into his bar, she was looking for refuge from her father and his reach in the town. Knowing Ronan's secret, she is thankful when he offers her a place to live and some work. The trouble Ronan finds is fate giving him the one thing he didn't ever think he would have. Even though is the leader of this shifter band of misfits, this family, he never thought he would ever find his other half. All I know, is that Moira's dad is a complete sleaze, that doesn't deserve a family, respect, or frankly anything. Moira is feisty and takes what she wants when it is clear she wants it. Together they are passion, love, and will take on anyone who jeopardizes it. Then and the forsaken few who are now family.

I was having a bad week when I got this one to read. Needless to say the smiles, giggles, and outright cheering out loud I did helped! I have yet to find a book written by Michelle that didn't draw me in and end up with me staying up way too late. Darn you Michelle! I love that the characters are always thought out but at the same time the development doesn't become too much and make me want to skip pages.

Exquisite Reviews

Oh wow…. I really liked this book by author Michelle Roth; she has a way of writing that draws you in to her books. Even with the length of this book she gave us characters that were likable and the best part is that they are memorable. Ronan is wolf who enjoys working in his bar and the small dysfunctional family he has with his friends, having had a strict upbringing he is glad he can live his adult life that way he wants. Moira is daddy’s little girl or so she thought, after coming home from college for summer break her father the mayor of their small town decides to marry her off to a colleague some she has never met and old enough to be her father. This story may not be different from some of the books you’ve read before and probably has a similar plot but the thing that does set it apart is how the author captures and captivates the reader into a falling in love with her characters. I give this book 4 diamonds and I can’t wait to read more from this author and hope that her next book is about Ty. Get your copy at Amazon or at Evernight Publishing.

A gripping, steamy and extremely intriguing tale
Written by CA Knoble on 16th Aug 2015

The debut entry in The Forsaken Few series is a gripping story full of extremely steamy encounters. Moira is a headstrong young woman who cannot abide the path chosen for her by her father. She escapes his controlling clutches to find Ronan, a wolf-shifter with family issues of his own. Although seemingly destined for one another, their union is not tolerated by some and the pair soon finds themselves in serious peril. Michelle Roth has once more written a fast-paced and intriguing story that pulls at your heartstrings and has you needing a cold shower in equal measure. The Forsaken Few will undoubtedly be a sensational series and Trouble Walked In is the perfect beginning.

a beautifully captivating tale of a wholly unapologetic love that confidently and perfectly seeps its way into two hearts
Written by Shadowplay on 16th Aug 2015

Trouble Walked In is a beautifully captivating tale of a wholly unapologetic love that confidently and perfectly seeps its way into two unexpected hearts and refuses to let them go. This is a journey that takes you completely by surprise and shows you just how incredible wonderful surprises can truly be. No matter what we find waiting for us around the next corner, don’t close your heart to endless possibilities. What might start out with your world crashing down around you might actually be the beginning of a perfect miracle that will forever transform your life into something you never dared to dream about. Ronan has lived a harsh, complicated life that he has managed to transform into one that is quiet and simple and leaves him content. He doesn’t want or need any new complications to mess things up, but that is exactly what he gets in the form of a small yet courageous girl named Moira Devereaux. Moira is desperate to escape the nightmare that has forever altered her life. She goes to the only place where she knows she will find a refuge – Ronan’s bar. Not wanting to stir up trouble, she happily agrees to work for Ronan while she figures out how to rebuild what is left of her life. However, the hardest decision she has to make is whether or not open her eyes to what is standing right in front of her. Will Moria find the balance that she needs to reclaim for her peace of mind, or will she allow her heart to show her that she has already found it in the last place that she would have ever looked for it? My heart went out to both Moira and Ronan. While Ronan was used to living a life stripped of all hopes and dreams, Moria is just recently discovering the horror and pain of such a terrible situation. I was so happy that Ronan didn’t push her out the door to save himself trouble but instead took mercy on her and in turn brought himself the greatest joy that he could ever know. Moira’s willingness to listen to her heart left me amazed and so thrilled to see that even in the midst of turmoil and pain, love and hope can still be found if we will only keep ourselves open to the possibility. These two are incredible together, and I truly hope to hear more from them in the future. Michelle Roth stole both my heart and my breath away with this outstanding story! The only wish I could have for this book is to extend the ending just enough to show that these two made it and are doing better than I hoped. Perhaps we will see more of them in the next book of this series, but either way, this series is starting out with an astounding beginning. I can’t wait to see what comes next!
