The accident was perfectly timed. Gustav had just lifted the bowl of bouillabaisse from his tray and was about to put it down when the blond broker suddenly jerked backwards in his chair. It bumped Gustav’s hip, causing him to lurch slightly and slop hot soup onto the table and James’s lap.
James gasped in pain as the burning liquid spread over his thigh. He glared at the broker, who just smirked. Score one for me, the expression said.
“Sorry about that,” the broker said nonchalantly, standing up and strolling to the restrooms.
James grimaced, then realized that Gustav’s attention was focused on him. “Monsieur, I’m so sorry!” the waiter said, sounding genuinely horrified. “Are you injured?”
“It caught my leg,” James said through his teeth. Damn it, now he would have to go home and change, and he still had to finish his précis on the new menswear line before flying to Tokyo on Thursday—
“We must see to it immediately. Come with me.”
“I—what?” James found himself levered out of the chair and being half-guided, half-towed by Gustav through the bistro to the back and through a door marked “Employees Only”. Beyond it was a short corridor with one side taken up by a row of beige metal lockers, a bulletin board covered with notices, and assorted restaurant detritus.
Gustav opened a door facing the lockers and ushered James through into what appeared to be the manager’s office. Despite the stinging pain in his thigh, James was fascinated by this glimpse behind the debonair curtain of Bistro LeClerq’s dining area.
Gustav had changed as well, the polite attentiveness replaced by a vibrating energy that James finally recognized as anger. The waiter pulled out an office chair from behind the desk, planting it in front of him. “Please take off your trousers and sit down,” he ordered.
James gaped at him. “I beg your pardon?”
“Your trousers, take them off,” Gustav repeated. “I’ll have someone treat the stain, and I will bring something for the burn.”
Take his trousers off. In front of Gustav, the object of his most ardent desire for the last three years. “Um.” James’s hands hovered over his belt buckle, clenching to hide the sudden tremble. “Would you—I mean—”
Gustav’s expression changed, lit by a flash of understanding. “Mais oui, you require privacy. My apologies, monsieur.” With a stiff jerk of his head, he nodded and left.
Oh, God. He doesn’t think I’m angry with him, does he? James’s stomach dropped with the sudden fear that Gustav might be fired for the mishap. No, I won’t allow it. I’ll speak to the manager, tell him it was that damned broker’s fault. Granted, he’d never actually met the restaurant manager, but surely the man was an individual of intelligence and good sense when it came to unpleasant customers.
Determined now, James undid his belt and fly and dropped his trousers. A reddish patch had spread across his right thigh, burning as the cool air hit it, but that appeared to be the extent of the damage. He realized Gustav had managed to direct the bulk of the splashed soup onto the table, avoiding his groin.
Thank you, my dear man. He stepped out of the stained clothing, pulling out his belt and wallet as a sharp rap sounded at the door. On instinct he dropped into the chair, modestly covering his briefs with the wadded trousers. “Come in,” he called.
Gustav peered around the door, holding up a large soup bowl with a white cloth draped over it. “Ah, good,” he said, bustling over. “Once again, monsieur, I apologize for this. Luckily Marco is an expert at treating stains before they set, and of course I will pay for your dry cleaning.”
“Absolutely not,” James said, indignant. “It wasn’t your fault. That boor bumped you on purpose.”
Gustav snorted in agreement. “Nonetheless, I insist,” he said, putting the bowl down on the desk before gently prying the trousers from James’s hands. He held them up, studying at the stain. “Quel salaud,” he muttered.
A Paris veteran, James was fluent in French and recognized the phrase. “Calling him a bastard is probably an insult to bastards.”
Gustav smirked. “Yes, I suppose. But it will be the last time that connard and his friends eat here. Un moment, s'il vous plaît.”
He opened the door, handing the trousers off to someone outside with murmured instructions, then came back in. “Now for you, monsieur.”
“I—” James choked slightly as Gustav gracefully knelt in front of him, taking the bowl of ice water from the desk and putting it on the floor. The choke turned into a gasp as the waiter slid two somewhat chilly hands between his knees and gently nudged them apart.
“This will cool the temperature of the burn and help it heal more quickly. It would be better if we could soak it in milk for a half hour, but I’m afraid that’s impractical considering the location,” Gustav said, wringing out the soft white cloth before wrapping it around an ice cube. “Brace yourself, monsieur.”
James shuddered as the wet cloth touched his burn, and Gustav clucked in apology. James couldn’t explain that his reaction was equally due to Gustav’s free hand coming to rest on his uninjured thigh. The man was kneeling practically between his knees, so close that he could feel Gustav’s breath on his bare skin. His penis twitched, and he clasped his hands over his groin as camouflage for what promised to be a most inconvenient erection.
“I’m all right, really,” he said thickly. “You don’t have to do this.”
Gustav eased back a bit, one hand still resting on his uninjured thigh. “It would be irresponsible of me to let you go while you are still in discomfort,” he said, dropping the cloth back into the bowl. “I should fetch some aloe vera lotion from the kitchen—”
“No, please,” James begged. “It’s all right.”
Grey-blue eyes narrowed at him, then glanced down at his clasped hands. A welter of emotions played across the other man’s face then, ending with a look of molten desire that shook James to his marrow.
“Ah,” Gustav said softly. His fingers left James’s thighs, gliding up so softly, touching his wrists, then the back of his hands. “I had hoped, but I wasn’t sure. Please, let me?”
Dizzy, James nodded, unsure of what he was agreeing to. He found out when Gustav pulled his hands away, revealing the long, hard shape of his desire under clean cotton. Already there was a spot of dampness at the tip, a faint grey shadow that spread as they watched.
Breathing hard, Gustav bent his head and pressed a kiss to James’s pubic bone just at the base of his shaft. Warm breath gusted through the fabric, and James made a soft noise as Gustav’s lips closed around him, laying open-mouthed kisses up to the rounded head. A flickering tongue licked at the wetness there, savoring it.
“Délicieux,” Gustav murmured, glancing up at him with eyes that had gone dark. The waiter’s polite mask was gone, revealing a man who hungered for what he could provide. “Please, James. Let me taste you.”
Loved to read about men in uniform! All the stories were great.
Full of good storytelling. Loved all the characters in these short stories. So glad I read it. You should try it.
As posted on The Smutty Kitty reviewed by Knotty Kitty 3.5 out of 5 Licks This collection of Uniform Fetish novellas has some good quick reads for when you are on a lunch break. I am a huge fan of the Male/Male genre, so I was really excited by this concept of an all M/M anthology. The title has you thinking that they would all be military, but included are police officers, medics, and firemen. All types I’d love to get out of uniform… hehehe I’m not going to go through each book and give a description; because they are all so short it would be hard not to spoil them. But I do have to say that the novella Scars really took a hold of my heart. I almost wish it were a full novel. Those two men seemed to have a much bigger story besides their finding each other again. They are both broken by the wars they have faught , and I wanted to see them become whole together. Again I say this is a good read for when you are in the mood for some man-love! I recommend y’all check it out. :)
Uniform Fetish: Manlove Edition is a delightful collection of stories, all with one thing in common…somewhere in each is a uniform of some description. From American Revolution Reenactment uniforms, to waiter uniforms, to pilot, fireman and police officer uniforms. All the stories revolved around one of my favorites sights….a hot man in a uniform. I highly recommend the anthology. It was an easy read and I went through them in one day. Please see below for a brief overview of each. I’ve tried hard to not give any spoilers! Enjoy.
I typically do not read anthologies however I have to say that I loved this one. Every story not only depicted true and believable, hot steamy (soooo steamy) romance between the men in the story, but also emotional plot and happily-ever-afters that were absolutely touching. Elizabeth Monvey’s Rain and Promises story of love and near tragedy brought me to tears but had me smiling (and hot) throughout. Nicola Cameron’s Fine Dining was a sweet but sizzling story about love found in the most unlikely of places. All of the other stories were on the same level of awesome. Every story had absolutely mind-blowing scenes of eroticism between the male love interests. I would recommend this read to any M/M reader or someone who is looking to start reading manlove erotica. I give it five stars for the fact that consistently this anthology is amazing and there were no areas that I would improve. Be sure to read each story!!
The Uniform Fetish Man love Addition has a story for everyone. From the heart wrenching story from James Cox called Scars, where a man coming back from the war has to learn to love himself again. To A Walk on the Wild Side by Pelaam. Devin made me laugh with his quick wit and humor. Justin will have his hands full with him. But Justin is a cop he can more than handle the sassy Devin. I loved all the stories in this anthology. Some are short little snippets from the lives of men already in a relationship. Some are stories of relationships just starting. I hope you are like me and find a new to you author. This is my first time reading Nicola Cameron and her characters of James, and Gustav made me want to read more from her. I will have to find a full story she has done and check it out. She has a quick humor and her characters are very lovable. Over all there is not one story I didn’t love out this anthology. If you like MM, love and stories that will make you smile, this is the anthology for you. Ohh and don’t forget the hot men in uniform you get to meet too!
A wonderful collection of short stories about men in uniform and the men who love them. Police Officer, Firefighter, Waiter, Flight Attendant, Pilot, Civil War Reenactor, EMT, Cop and Marine. It is like a feast for the eyes, whether it be for a man or a woman. Some of these stories are hot and some are just plain smokin'. I think my favorite is A Walk on the Wildside by Pelaam. It called to my submissive side like you wouldn't believe. If you are going to read this anthology, then you might want keep a glass of water and extra batteries around.
Uniform Fetish: Manlove edition This book is an anthology containing 9 seriously talented writers. This was truly amazing and not at all what I was expecting. Well of course I was expecting sex but not on the emotional level. All of these stories were beautifully written but I do have a few favorites. One in particular would be Fired Up by Lucy Felthouse. She sure knows how to write a sexy short story. This was exactly what I needed to read today.
Gale Stanley’s One Night in Bangkok made me an instafan of MM romance, so of course I had to read The Layover. I was curious to see if she could give the same depth to a short story. Wow! It was all that. I loved the connection between the characters, the inner conflict, and the steamy parts. I kept reading and I found some new authors to follow. James Cox, I love Scars! What can I say? I enjoyed them all. And that’s pretty good when you can say that about an anthology with such a variety of stories and styles. Definitely worth reading!
There's something about a man in uniform, and this collection covers some of the sexiest. Cops, firefighters, pilots, Marines, and more. I was hooked from the first story. In Rain and Promises, an EMT shows up at a horrific car accident and finds his lover badly injured. In the second story, Fine Dining, turns into a fine romance. Number three, The Layover is my favorite. I liked the relationship between the characters, a pilot and a café owner, and I enjoyed seeing how their story played out. Yes, there’s a theme to this collection, but every story is different, and each one is chock full of emotion, as well as steam. Well written and entertaining!
Awesome collection of hot, steamy stories of men in love. I was so looking forward to this book's release day that when it finally got to my e-reader, I read all of these stories in one sitting. Yes, it's that captivating a read. In Rain and Promises, Adam and Ryan are about to celebrate their one-year anniversary. When Ryan's latest call brings him to the scene of a car wreck, he's shocked still by whose life is at stake. Emotional and heart-warming. In Fine Dining, James frequents a bistro for his weekly dose of Gustav. Eye candy leads to the main course when unexpected forces send soup flying onto James' lap. Surprise, surprise. In The Layover, a married and overworked Captain Paul Miller develops a friendship with airport cafe restaurant owner-operator Jamey Conley. When a divorce out of nowhere sends Paul to commiserate with a fellow coworker, things unfold for the better. A story of sweet beginnings, coming into one's own, and dreams becoming true. In Scars, Gabe McShane takes the lead after "Devil" gets honorably discharged. One year later, the two approach territory that they'd never explored while serving in the Marines. A story of healing and going beyond one's comfort zones to find home. In Walk on the Wild Side, Devin gets stopped by a handsome cop--Justin--on his way back from work. Devin blossoms from their chance encounter and the world goes tipsy as Devin learns about unconditional love. Go, Devin! In Real Life Role Play, Lachlan and Tayte deepen their connection and extinguish lingering doubts after having moved in with each other. Great story of a committed couple moving forward past a hump. In Mile High Rebound, Will faces a breakup on take-off day, only to find a willing playmate up in the air. The bonus? After their meet-and-greet, they have a chance to take things further. Another story of hopeful beginnings. In The British are Coming, Elijah reunites with long-ago friend Jasper and fireworks turn up. Yum. In Fired Up, fireman Lucas Hartley hasn't lost his gravitation toward Greg Barnett. All hell breaks loose as they recap their past and of course consummate things... Overall, a wonderful collection of sexy men getting what they desire -- the men who got away, the men who they've dreamed of, the men whom they thought would never, and more. Although composed of short stories, each author painted their characters rich with depth and pulled me right into their worlds from the opening paragraphs. Definitely highly recommended, especially if you're into M/M reads.
