College boy
College boy was an entertaining and steamy read. And was Mitch and Emma’s story. I received an early copy of the book. And voluntarily leaving this review.
Campus Crush, 5
A recent divorcee gets the spring break she never had when the college boy next door brings home a sexy young friend for a little R & R…
Emma Hastings has been divorced, and purposefully celibate, for the last five years. But all that changes when she hears a ruckus from the neighbor’s house late one sultry night. When she goes next door to complain, she finds a sexy spring breaker waiting up to smooth things over, but his lean, hungry presence only confuses her all the more.
Mitch Carlson was just along for the ride. He’d never seen the beach before and wanted to before he graduated from Sunrise State the following year. A quick ride share home with some cash-poor freshmen brought him to Flamingo Shores and, even better, right next door to the hottest, sexiest, fieriest fortysomething woman Mitch had ever met. Even if it was at three in the morning so that Emma could file a noise complaint!
When his friends ditch him for a concert down south, young Mitch stays behind and makes Emma a deal she can’t refuse: he’ll give her the spring break she never had if she’ll show him around the beach he’s never seen before. What could possibly go wrong?
Excerpt:
Emma had been in the pool house before, during some Memorial Day cookout or other, as she recalled. “There’s nowhere for a big, strapping boy like you to sleep in there.”
“Alas,” Mitch sighed, body heat radiating off of his lean, pale chest in waves that crashed upon her own deliciously. “Why do you think I’m up at this ungodly hour?”
Emma merely nodded, mind working through a dozen different saucy scenarios as his long fingers lingered just beside her own. “What’s your excuse?” he asked, eyes penetrating in the deep dark of night.
Emma nodded, as if to herself, no longer able to deny her craven desires or the way her body was responding almost uncontrollably to each and every one of them. “You, silly,” she murmured, easily unlatching her fence door and stepping cautiously aside, an unspoken invitation she hoped he’d notice. “I can’t let you sleep on some random deck chair, Mitch.”
“Yeah,” he murmured, fiddling with the latch on his side to open his door of the neighboring fence. “But you didn’t know that when you came over here tonight.”
Emma blushed and waved an impatient hand. “Do you have to notice every little thing?” she blurted as he inched slowly onto her property line, pale feet crunching on the soft spring grass. “Can’t you just ignore the fact that I came over here in the middle of the night just to gaze at you in the pool?”
“That was you gazing?” Mitch asked as Emma shut the gate behind them and led him toward the back door past her own shimmering pool. “I just thought you were being nosy again?”
“Again?”
“I mean, that’s why you came over last night, right? To see what all the fuss was about?”
“I didn’t hear you complaining,” Emma teased, holding the screen door to her wraparound patio open for him. He paused, glancing slightly down and leaving her just on the verge of breathlessness. “Do you have to notice every little thing?” He winked then, using her own teasing phrase on her this time.
“Besides,” he added, pausing just inside the doorway as she joined him on the patio. “I thought you were waiting until tomorrow to kick off your spring break.”
“Silly boy,” Emma teased.

I really like this series as a whole, but I have to admit that I didn’t like this installment quite as much. I actually do like the female characters and the concept; however, I can’t say I like the male as much. They both seem to grow a bit throughout the course of the spring break week, so I suppose by the end of the story I like the way it ends up!
When she this next door to stop the college party, she finds the man meant to heal her soul. Even though he's much younger the two have an instant connection and can't fight it. They sirens siding break falling in lust and love. Their heat burns up the pages in this novella you won't want to put down.
This is the fifth story in the "Campus Crush" series. It is a a fairly short and quick stand alone read. It is a good college like romance with a little angst, drama and fun. The story is an age gap romance between an older, divorced lady and a college boy wanting to see the beach. This story is a little unexpected, charming and entertaining. I enjoyed their steamy and passionate romance. It is entertaining, flirty, fun and love the food truck bits!
This is the first book I have read by Alex Winters. It was a decent book. They have an instant attraction but Emma is hesitant to act on it, she was extremely hurt by her ex-husband. Mitch considers Emma a cougar and is very attracted to her, from the time she knocked on her next door neighbors door. Do they spend the entire spring break together? What happens when he returns to school? Does he come back to Emma? Do they try to have a real relationship? Let's finish reading to find!
The blurb gives us a peek into the story, except for the ending. We all know our main characters are headed for a happily ever after, both literally and figuratively! And that's the best part—there's a wonderful excitement and joy in their reunion, and you can feel that happiness in every word on the final pages.
Good! Glad I gave this one a chance. I normally don't go for reverse age gap but this one was a really good one and I would recommend.
This was a really good and well written reverse age gap novella. It was very easy to read and stay connected to the story--really good book.
How can a book be cute, sweet, dirty, and smutty all at once? Mitch and Emma meet when her neighbours son holds a party and she comes knocking on the door to turn it off. The sequence of events after that is slightly humorous. Mitch was a bit of a cutie - I pictured someone slightly awkward on the surface, but with hidden depths, Clark Kent style. Emma felt a little awkward, and she’s definitely not comfortable in her own skin, but Mitch soon changes that. The steam is slow to start, then once the smut starts, it’s fairly consistent. Still a story between, so there’s a big plus right there! Some bits were a bit cringey, and I hated how she called him kid. And if she’s early 30’s - that’s not middle age!! Making plenty of people feel old with that line, that’s for sure. The HEA was cute, they made a cute couple, though I wouldn’t have minded an epilogue with them further into the future.
This was another fun read for the series. Emma and Mitch come together after she storms over to her neighbour's house to complain about the party going on there...at 3am. Visiting Mitch answers the door and is totally shocked by how hot this older gal is ;D She does find him attractive but tries to keep herself in line by using terms like 'college boy' but it's to no avail. These two are hot for each other and deserve all the love they find together. Of course, it's not that simple and I love how the author found a way for them to be together, despite their differences. Expect a romantic, sweet and steamy reading ride when you dive into this one :D
This is not a typical age gap book. The older woman and young college guy had an immediate attraction. From the beginning I had a feeling that the one week fling was not going to work the way they were planning. This book is steamy and cute. I felt like it was such an adorable way that two misfit people who had issues with who they were and how they were perceived by others ended up healing each other. This book is a good read.
