Woollybah Creek, 2

Former playboy Tucker Dawson is in for a surprise…

After a night of passion, Olympic hopeful Adele Douglas disappeared from Tucker’s life. He’d almost given up on seeing her again.

Seven months pregnant, with her Olympic aspirations squashed, dire circumstances have brought Adele back to her one night stand, a man she knew wouldn’t turn her away.

Tucker knows a good thing when he sees it. Adele may have returned out of desperation, but he’ll soon remind her how good they fit together.

And this time he’s not letting her go…

Excerpt:

He stood, his body a breath from hers. Looking into her eyes, he took hold of the hem of her shirt and lifted. She raised her arms, assisting him, and he tossed the shirt into the near full hamper on the other side of the room. His fingers caressed her belly, his touch soft against her skin. The baby took that moment to kick. She smiled.

Tucker’s eyes widened, then so did his lips. Amazement raised his eyebrows and he chuckled, his body shaking with mirth.

“This kid is going to keep us on our toes. I can’t wait to meet him or her.”

Her heart banged against her rib cage. She loved when he talked like that. She believed him, too. Despite his reputation with the ladies, Tucker didn’t say anything he didn’t mean and he’d never lied to her.

“Me either.”

He pushed her hair over her shoulder, running the back of his hand over her skin. Her breath caught in her throat. He stepped closer, her tummy pressing against him. He released her bra clasp and drew the straps down over her arms. It joined the shirt. His heated gaze dropped to her chest. She withheld the desire to cover herself. This man had seen her naked before. Had done more than look at her, still she quivered beneath his stare.

“You are the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen.”

Adele might have dismissed Tucker’s statement as flowery words had the heat in his eyes not backed them up. His hands gripped her stretchy pants and pushed them down her thighs. He dropped to his knees to help extract her as they clung to her shins. Completely naked, she shifted her weight. Her pulse rocketed.

“You okay?”

“Sure.”

Besides feeling fat and ungainly.

Tucker turned off the taps. The water had reached mid-tub. Getting to his feet in a svelte move she envied, Tucker lifted her into his arms and lowered her down into the water. She wiggled into a more comfortable position and lifted her head as Tucker rolled up a towel and placed it behind her neck. The heat of the water soothed her tired muscles. The sudsy water teased her pebbled nipples, playing peek-a-boo each time she shifted while her bump poked out of the water like a buoy.

She’d never felt more cherished as Tucker wet a facecloth and ran it over her skin, washing away the day’s dust. Like the first day, he lifted each of her feet and gave them attention, easing the ache but starting another between her thighs.

“Feeling better?” The husky tone sent a thrill through her.

“Yes, thank you.”

“How about some dinner in bed?”

She nibbled on her lip. “I could get used to this treatment.”

“Good. You should. I plan to spoil you every day for the rest of your life.”

Warmth flooded her. When he said stuff like that she melted. It was easy to believe him. Too easy.

When the water began to cool, his hands slid beneath her, the sleeve of his shirt soaking up the water. He lifted her out of the tub with ease and placed her on the soft, latte-colored bath mat. To steady herself, she pressed her palms to his shoulders. His heated skin burned her through his shirt. He dried her quickly, his moves efficient and arousing. Her belly fluttered at his touch. The moisture in her mouth evaporated. She swallowed and played with the open fabric at his throat, the blue-and-gray-striped cotton polo soft beneath her fingertips. A button was missing, leaving only a jagged tuft of thread where it had once been.

He tipped her chin up with a gentle finger, and her breath caught her in her throat.

Slowly, as if giving her time to pull away, his head descended. Despite all the thoughts buzzing around her head, warning her away, Adele held her position. His lips pressed against hers, coaxing her open. He slipped inside and his tongue tangled with hers, devouring her. His taste burst on her tongue, like the most decadent chocolate. He took, demanding. She gave, helpless to refuse, and at the same time wanted to give him everything. Adele moaned, desperate for more. Her fingers clenched in his short, somewhat shaggy blond hair, grasping to hold onto something to remain grounded. Tucker deepened the kiss. Adele fell hard and fast into sensation, drowning in ecstasy. Her lungs cried out for air.

She broke the kiss, struggling to breathe. Dots danced in her vision and she swayed, slightly weak-kneed. Tucker caught her arms and tugged her toward him. She buried her nose against his throat and breathed in his delectable scent. His arms folded around her, drawing her as close as her bump would allow. She melted, feeling secure and happy. Emotion clogged her chest. She pressed a kiss to his skin. His throat worked as he swallowed.

“Adele—” His hands tightened on her hips.

“I want you, Tucker. If you’ll have me.” No truer words had been spoken.

“I’ll never stop wanting you, Adele.”

The world tilted, once again she was in his arms, and he was striding into his bedroom, setting her down on the mattress. Straightening, his heated gaze ran over naked skin, warming her blood, culminating in a throb between her thighs. Everywhere his gaze touched was as though he’d reached out and stroked her. Smiling, Tucker caught the back of his shirt and a second later, the fabric was floating to the floor.

Surprise baby romance in rural farm setting
Written by AndraU on 31st Oct 2023

When playboy horse farmer Tucker Dawson finds Adele, a girl he had a one-night stand with months ago but never got out of his head, pregnant on his doorstep, he is beyond happy to have her back. But Adele, who back then was training for the Olympics, seems to be keeping secrets. And Tucker has met ladies with dollar signs in their eyes before. Can the two work through their insecurities and find happiness? It is “surprise baby” love story taking place in rural Australia, with horses, sexy cowboys and a small-town community. The hero and heroine are likeable young people with major trust issues and a huge inability to communicate. It eventually became rather frustrating for me, the way Tucker just refused to ask any questions about Adele’s past and how Adele kept assuming Tucker wanted someone else because… well, just because. I think these things could have been handled better. Hence no top marks. This is the second book in the Woollybah Creek series and while it can be read as a standalone, the glimpses we get of both characters in the first book (which I liked a lot more) help understand them better.

Tear jerker, angsty romance
Written by time2livelife on 31st Oct 2023

This romance was so beautifully written and filled with plenty of angst. It’s written in third person dual POV. Even though you know what the main characters are thinking and you know that they’re jumping to the wrong conclusions, you still feel their pain so acutely. I was crying for almost half of the story. Their love was so strong and so sweet but they both believed it was unrequited. I’ve never read anything from this author before but I’ll definitely be checking out more of her work. The ARC I received had only a few typos but those might be fixed when this is published.

Feels Like Home!
Written by Mary on 31st Oct 2023

This is the second story in the "Woollybah Creek" series but reads as a stand alone. It is a fairly short read about a surprise pregnancy between a playboy and an Olympic hopeful. With nowhere else to turn, Adele has showed up at Tucker's door interrupting his date. They shared a night of passion and she left to fulfill her Olympic dream now she is seventh months pregnant and her dream is dashed. Tucker has been longing for Adele since she left he already made up his mind that his date wasn't going anywhere. He was pleasantly surprised who interrupted it. This is a nicely developed story with strong and likable characters. I enjoyed every bit of their story especially as they begin to trust and get through their bumps.

Exceptional Read
Written by Linda K on 31st Oct 2023

Adele's father had only ever treated her as a commodity for his own good, and when she could no longer carry her weight, he kicked her out. He expected to be reimbursed every penny spent in her behalf. No wonder, she had little trust in men returning to Tucker pregnant with no where else to go scared and feeling alone. Tucker only cared that she had finally returned. She was the first woman, he had ever truly cared about in the full sense of the way. He would do anything for her. He could only prove to her that she meant the world to him. They seemed to keep getting in each other's way of showing how much they meant to each other. Communication was not one of their strongest skills. Enjoy this fabulous heart touching story of a young woman that never received loves gentle touch growing up.

Tucker and Adele have a one night that neither can forget. He tried to contact her and she had a secret until she showed up at his place seven months later and pregnant. Her father was an awful human being and heading for Tucker was her best bet. Tucker is bound and determined to prove his worth and not let her get away again. The characters are believable, passionate and have great chemistry. The storyline has all the heartwarming feels as they connect for an HEA.

Home is where the heart is
Written by Reader62 on 31st Oct 2023

A story of love, misunderstandings and misconceptions, poor communication also being issue., Adele, an Olympic contender, her future stopped by a one night stand, her first sexual experience and results in a pregnancy. She turns up unexpectedly and unannounced at Tucker's house catching him unaware..a strange reunion because when he sees her, this is how he discovers she is pregnant. She has no money, no where to go. Both of them are at odds, each trying to second guess the other and getting it wrong. Jealousy, despair, insecurity are just a few of their shared hurts and feelings. Actions speak louder than words but they need to listen, watch and learn.

Wholesome
Written by RahiaLeight on 31st Oct 2023

Sweet story with a fair amount of angst. Although part of me is bummed that we don't get to witness the interaction between Tucker and Adele's father, I'm a bit glad that the focus was left on the couple trying to find their places with each other. The last bit of conflict is a little outlandish to me, but the end of the day, it was a decent tale.

An emotional and heartfelt read — Tucker and Adele
Written by Maggi on 31st Oct 2023

This is my first book by this author and I was hooked from the first page to the end. A very well written storyline that was emotional and heartbreaking at times, with trust issues, misconceptions, trust issues, past disappointment, but a deep down love that couldn’t deny or express. I loved it!

Tucker and Adele!
Written by Jen9731 on 31st Oct 2023

Feels Like Home is a short and steamy, small town, second-chance romance. Tucker is a hunky cowboy and former and playboy. Adele is a former Olympic hopeful who has now returned to Tucker, 7 months pregnant with his child. They had a one night stand where he took her virginity and when she left, Tucker couldn't stop thinking about her. Tucker is determined to keep her this time. Will they both realize they are meant for each other? Their chemistry sizzled and Tucker was just so sweet and excited to be a dad. Both are clearly in love with each other but have trust issues. After several misunderstandings that cause a lot of angst, we finally get our HEA. This was the first book I have read from this author and will be looking for more! I really enjoyed this steamy cowboy romance.

Tucker and Adele
Written by SeahawkGirl on 31st Oct 2023

This is the first book I have read from this author and it will not be the last. Tucker owns a ranch and his family has money. He has been a bit of a playboy and dated a lot of women. Adele is an accomplished horsewoman with aspirations to make the Olympics. This ends when she finds out she is pregnant from a one-night stand with Tucker. Adele's father is very mean and demanding. He kept track of every cent he spent on Adele and her career and expected her to pay him back. Tucker offers Adele a home when she shows up on his doorstep pregnant with his baby. A lot of drama ensues and mistrust keeps them apart for a while. Eventually, they work through it all and find their HEA. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to more stories from Woollybah Creek.
