I really enjoyed reading the book. It is absolutely wonderful. It’s very entertaining most definitely a pace Turner.

Tarl is roaming the streets of New York. He has to get his mate out from behind bars, fast, if not, he’ll die. After dropping into The Gin Room he finds himself drawn to a pretty woman sitting alone. Before he knows it, they’re ripping each other’s clothes off and releasing the stress of the day.
But when morning comes and he finds out where she works, what her skills are, he knows he was drawn to her for a reason. And could that reason be about more than saving Grady? Could it be about saving an entire species that is now teetering on the brink of extinction?

Excerpt:
A tall man wearing a black hoodie pulled up tight so all she could really see was his nose and a dark moustache, emerged from the shadows.
“What? I’m not rich. I’m not on TV.” She took a step backward.
He followed her. “Purse. Now.”
“I don’t have one!”
He spat and stepped closer with a long sharp knife waving in front of him. “Don’t lie, all girls have a purse.”
“I only have a phone.” She reached into her pocket.
“Give it.” He went to snatch it from her.
But at that moment a rush of energy and movement came from behind her. It scooted around her shoulder and in a flash of fur and teeth pummeled into her attacker and knocked him to the floor. The knife skittered out of sight and his shrill scream filled the tunnel.
Sienna gasped and staggered backward until her shoulders hit the brick wall.
What the hell?
A wolf—a direwolf—was standing over the hooded man and snarling into his face, drool dripping from his menacing jaws.
“Argh! Get off me. Get off me!”
The creature lowered its head then snapped its teeth grazing the man’s nose.
“Oh my God.” Sienna pressed her hand to her mouth. How the hell had the direwolf escaped? But … was it even the same one? The tail on the one before her was much lighter, as were the ears. She could see that even through the darkness.
“Help! Help!”
Sienna had no intention of helping the man who had tried to mug her, perhaps even go on to stab her. With her body buzzing with fight-or-flight, she looked to her left. If only there was a cop around. This creature needed containing. It was wild and dangerous as was being proven right now and it could not be left to roam the streets of New York City.
There was a sudden scramble and the direwolf stepped back, seeming to allow the man to wriggle free. He took full advantage, jumped to his feet, and ran at full pelt into the darkness of the tunnel, his footsteps rapidly fading.
“Oh, fuck.” Sienna gulped as the direwolf turned his attention to her. Had she evaded a mugging only to receive a mauling?
It came closer, slowly, its huge teeth on show and its hackles raised. It was staring straight at her with feral hunger in its blue eyes.
Now she knew it was a different direwolf. The markings were quite different and it was paler, white in places. But where the heck had it come from? And why here and now?
She splayed her hands on the damp bricks, she had no weapon and stood no chance of outrunning the creature. Her fate was sealed. She’d be forever known as the zookeeper mauled outside of the zoo.
Then something changed. For a moment she thought it was her vision going fuzzy, but then she realized it was the wolf’s fur. It had turned hazy, fog-like. The animal lifted onto its back legs, human-style, and let out a long groan. Fur turned to skin. A wolf’s snout became a man’s nose and broad bare shoulders and lean hips became clear. The eyes stayed the same. And what was more, she recognized them. She recognized him.
“Tarl?” His name barely came out of her dry mouth. What had she just witnessed? Was this some elaborate joke? A hoax?
“Sienna.” He stepped up to her. He wasn’t wearing a scrap of clothing. “I’m sorry you went through that.”
“Through what?” Her brain was having a hard time keeping up with events.
“That asshole,” he said, jerking his head to the right. “With the knife.”
“He’s gone,” she managed.
“And won’t be back.” He was so close now, and he pressed his hands to the wall either side of her head, hemming her in, looking down at her. “Because he knows I’ll kill him.”
“What … what was that? Who are you … and why … I don’t understand?”
“No one would expect you to.”
“Tarl, I…” Tentatively she pressed her hand to his warm chest. “Did you see the direwolf?”
He chuckled. “Babe, I am the direwolf.”
I really enjoyed reading the book. It is absolutely wonderful. It’s very entertaining most definitely a pace Turner.
This is a very steamy short novella. The MCs had so much chemistry it almost had the pages burning. This book concerns MMF and an almost extinct species called direwolfs. A few humans lived with the direwolves and helped repopulate the species. I recommend this book to all paranormal shifter romance readers.

She meets Tarl at the bar after work and there's an instant attraction. What she thinks is going to be a one night stand turns into more when he asked to go with her to work to see the dire wolf. Grady was captured in Montana in his wolf form and he's on a hunger strike. Pack lost states that if you're caught you're not to eat that way when you pass the secret passes with you.
Saving a Species From Extinction Sienna is excited to be hosting a direwolf at her zoo in Central Park. A chance meeting with a handsome strangler, a shocking secret revealed, and Sienna’s live will never be the same… I loved the chemistry between Sienna, Tarl and Grady, how they had a fantastic relationship together plus unique relationships one-on-one. A terrific read.

A wonderful new series, I couldn't put it down. I enjoyed the storyline and the chemistry between the characters, Sienna, Grady and Tarl are so good.
This is a great first for this series. It is a quick, interesting read. The characters are HOT and instantly in lust with each other. Sienna and Grady(the alpha direwolf), are interested in each other, even though when they first met,Grady was in wolf form. Then she met Tarl, the BETA,, of the pack and they were instantly attracted to each other. This is when she she found out that shifter’s were real and not a legend as they were always told as children. They go on the road as they run from the authorities, after Tarl and Sienna, rescue Grady from the zoo. This leads to a love story that binds them together for ever.
Sienna works in the canine section of the zoo and they have just captured a huuuuuge find- a direwolf. Long to be considered extinct since the Ice Age, a ranger had found one and darted it in Montana. From the moment that the direwolf arrives in the canine area of the zoo, the gray wolves howl… constantly. Sienna is worried because the direwolf hasn’t eaten since his capture three days before. It was her job to care for the animals in her area of the zoo. Deciding to go out and blow off some steam, she goes to her local bar and gets her regular drink. There she meets Tarl and since she lives so close, they go to her place and things progress. Tarl and Sienna talk about wolves and the direwolf and he convinces her to bring him in to see the direwolf. Needing to free the direwolf, Tarl confides in Sienna that direwolf isn’t just a direwolf but a direwolf shifter as he is too. Grady is the Alpha of the pack and he was starving himself in his direwolf form so that shifters wouldn’t be found out. Things progress then they are on the run. Sienna, Grady & Tarl. Things go total mayhem and crazy after that. OMG, the three of them are steamy as all get out and the intensity of Grady made the hair on my arms go straight as well as some of the scary stuff that happens. The book is an emotional roller coaster ride and that is the only type I like, lol. Learning about the direwolves and how they lived and where, was fascinating. I can’t wait to see what happens next. I adore shifter romances. I laughed a lot as Tarl is just so much fun. I soooo needed my AC on for most of the book- either for the fear sweating or the steaminess.
This is an entertaining read with some scorching scenes. I loved the chemistry between Sienna, Tarl and Grady. It was just the right level so that it didn’t takeover the story. This is a well written story that, at the end of the day, is at its heart is a fated-mates romance. 5 stars.
I loved this wolf shifter story! Definitely recommend this to all shifter lovers out there, you're gonna love it.
The first story in the Monsters of New York. Sienna Baycroft is head of canines at Central Park Zoo she meets Tarl and has a one night stand with him. She tells him of the direwolf she has there, he wants to meet it. But what she does not know is that Grady is the Alpha and a shifter. But Grady has to get out of the cage as he is starving. I found their story to be well worth reading and want to read the next book.
Sienna meets Tarl at her favourite bar and decides to have a one night fling. When she goes to work at the zoo the next morning Tarl comes along and is able to see Grady in his direwolf form. The adventure for the three of them continues from here with some twists and turns. A fun quick read.
This was a great read and excellent start to a new series--love this author and her writing style. Their was just the right level of drama/angst in this and loved how it flowed from start to finish.
This one was a good start to a series. It created tension from almost the beginning, and kept it all the way through. Sweet HEA.
A good story with lovable & passionate characters. A human was thrusted into the world of wolf shifters. Like expected, our heroes found herself attracted to the stranger who succeeded in taking her heart and making her question everything she believed in & trusted before. The writing was great and the story kept engaging to the last page. Recommended!
Really enjoyed the characters the FMC had a lot of integrity and was very brave. This was a great story fast moving but felt like there were some loose ends that would hopefully be answered in a follow-up book as I really enjoyed the pack and the people in it and would love to know more. Sex with spicy with good mm scenes and really good Menage scenes.
This fast paced paranormal romance was an intense, steamy read with a strong willed heroine and two powerful shifters who would do anything to protect her. Sienna, a canine expert at Central Park Zoo, never expected her fascination with a mysterious new arrival to lead her into a world she didn’t know existed. But when she crosses paths with Tarl, a fierce yet devoted direwolf shifter, everything changes. The chemistry is instant and all consuming, but the dynamic deepens when Grady, the commanding alpha, enters the picture. The tension, passion, and undeniable pull between them create a scorching hot MMF relationship that feels just as emotional as it is primal. Their bond is built on more than just desire it’s about trust, loyalty, and the unbreakable connection of fated mates. This story has a nice amount of smut, with raw and unfiltered intensity driving every moment. The writing keeps the pacing tight, blending action, romance, and supernatural intrigue seamlessly. A short, filthy, and addictive paranormal read with protective shifters, a heroine who holds her own, and a love that burns wild.
Sienna is head of the canine program at the Central Park Zoo, they have just obtained a thought to be extinct, Direwolf. She is fascinated by him, he has blue eyes but he is not eating. She heads to the Gin Room for a drink. A younger man, Tarl is drawn to her, they end up back at her place. The next morning, he finds out where she works, she knows where who he is searching is and he asks for her help. Sienna has a choice to make, her career or help save Grady. This a steamy shifter read, MMF.
Running with Direwolves is exactly the kind of fast-paced, high-heat paranormal romance I love diving into! The mix of shifter intrigue, a mysterious species on the brink of extinction, and a scorching-hot MMF dynamic makes for a thrilling ride. Sienna is smart and capable, but nothing could prepare her for the arrival of Tarl—and the undeniable pull between them. Their chemistry is off the charts, and the stakes only get higher when his mission to save his pack becomes clear. The Monsters of New York world is gritty, sensual, and addictive. If you’re into steamy paranormal romances with strong characters and plenty of action (both in and out of the bedroom ?), this one’s a must-read! Can’t wait to see what’s next in the series!
Running With The Direwolves is anything but a story of monsters. It is a story of a love that grows from the most primal of places into something that is unyielding and unconditional. Grady, Tarl, and Sienna demonstrate a love and compassion that you just don't see in mankind. Thank God that is only part of who they are. The better part prevails. The book is an easy read that engages you from the first page to the last with drama, and a Smooth Criminal kind of get away that leads to a Bodyguard type romance, only it lasts. This one curled my toes.
New take on shifters and extinct species like the direwolf. Grady got captured and Sienna was the zoologist taking care of him. Tarl followed to New York to find a way to rescue Grady. Sienna is shocked at the truth of what Grady is and can’t live with herself so she helps rescue Grady and runaway with them. Love blooms and she becomes their one and they live happily ever after
It may have started with just the intentions of a one-night stand, but Sienna and Tarl really tore up the sheets. The addition of Grady to their relationship only adds the extra spice into an already sexy mix.
Running with Direwolves is a good shifter story by Lily Harlem. Interesting plotline and good solid characters. Enjoyed
Central Park Zoo has acquired a direwolf, considered extinct since the Ice Age. Sienna is the keeper of the canines at the zoo; after a long first day (and day before the press conference announcing the direwolf), she heads to the local bar to relax. While at the bar, she meets Tarl, a younger man that's visiting and they end up back at her place. Sienna finds out that there is much more to Tarl and the direwolf... This was interesting and a quick read. I would love to learn more about Kochi and the town's inhabitants.
Running with Direwolves is book 1 of the Monster's of New York series. This book was entertaining and spicy. A great why choose.
This was a good read, I’m new to this author and for the most part I really liked the writing, there were only a few places in the steamy scenes where I felt like the language was a little abrupt but overall it was a good read with a really good plot and storyline. Sienna is a zoologist caring for the canines at the Central Park Zoo when a Direwolf is found in Montana, tranquillized and brought in to the zoo. Sienna can’t get him to eat and they are set for press conferences the next day but she is concerned. She heads to her neighborhood bar and meets Tarl…who is younger than her but she’s strangely comfortable with. They have a night of passion and then he realizes in the morning that she works at the zoo and he begs her to take him to see the Direwolf…where she notes a strange connection as Tarl goes right up to the cage and talks to the wolf… That night as Sienna is taking one of the tunnels home she’s mugged…. and then shocked when a Direwolf comes to her rescue and attacks her attacker!!!! How could he have gotten out of his cage??? Wait…. This one has different markings??? Tarl transforms in front of her eyes and she realizes that the animal in the cage in her zoo is no animal at all… Will Sienna stay loyal to her zoo and her training or will she free the shifter and help him escape New York? She would be throwing away her education and career…but what would she gain? This is a lovely story of found family and love…with some escape adventure and a good side of spice of course!!!????
This was a fab series opener that really brought out the love in what ended up being a strong MMF romance. I really liked the chemistry Sienna had with Tarl, and in turn, his to Grady, and how they all connected together. The world building, culture, mystique and smoking hot spice really had me flipping pages, first to last, to see how their story would unfold. I'm definitely looking forward to the next book :D
This was a short, sweet and spicy story. I could not stop reading it. I love a good shifter romance and this didn't disappoint at all. I want more of this story.
What a sizzling, spicy story with a sweet plot. Lily brings the heat.
