Candy Wilson has come to St. Albert to sign the next “it” girl, Melissa to her modeling agency. With her agenda in place, Candy doesn’t have any time for distractions, especially in the form of Eric McKenna, a tall, dark and handsome man who not only irritates her but leaves her a whole lot hot and bothered with just a look. There is just something about Eric that she can’t resist. Eric isn’t about to let his baby sister model for Candy’s agency, he has plans for her that include finishing college and becoming a lawyer. There is no way that he is going to give his blessing for his baby sister to go off to some foreign country and have strange men panting after her. He just needs to make Candy see his way of thinking and move on, but that’s easier said than done. Not only does the woman drive him a little crazy, but she really turns him on as well. In Stirring Up Dirty, author Kacey Hammell once again displays a talent for creating a story that offers the perfect amount of sexual tension and heat, well defined character development and plenty of action to enthrall the reader. This author knows how to tell a story. She just seems to have a way with words where every action flows smoothly and the characters are realistic and unforgettable making the book impossible to put down. Right from their very first meeting, the reader is caught in Eric and Candy’s web and held captive by the irresistible attraction and their rocky road to love that is paved with difficulties, discomfort, emotions and a whole lot of passion. The reader can appreciate the nuances of Eric and Candy’s relationship due to the way the author brings the characters to life. Candy is a strong-willed and good hearted woman who is tenacious and driven. Candy seems to fit right in with the small town of St. Albert and its people perfectly giving the reader a realistic and believable feeling about her and her personality. The lengths she is willing to go to trying to save Eric’s family bar is noble and touching. Eric is a driven man who wants nothing more than to keep his family close, protect them, especially his little sister and also to provide for their future. He is a hard man that is determined not to let Candy into his heart, even while he is pushing her away the reader can almost feel the sexual pull between Eric and Candy like it’s a live wire. The smoking hot sexual desire is sexy, sweet and seductive with plenty of emotion to tug at the heart. The ending is clever, charming and perfectly tuned.
