Jenny Newman is a genius and comes from a family of brilliant people. While her parents might love her, they had never shown it. They had been too caught up in their own careers to notice they had a daughter. The final straw was their disappointment when she decided to be a vet instead of a surgeon, ‘a real doctor’, like her parents.

So, she moved over a thousand miles away, hoping to start a new life with good friends and an excellent partner in their vet practice. The only stick in the mud was a large, hostile man who didn’t like her but couldn’t seem to stay away.

Mac wanted to dislike Jenny, but she drew him in every time he saw her, and it pissed him off. The more he tried to ignore her, the more times they ran into each other. Now, he needed to decide if he was ready to take a chance at love again or lose Jenny forever.

Excerpt:

He watched her expression as he caressed both breasts before sliding his hand down her torso and under her panties and lying over her wet heat and springy curls.

She sucked in a breath and held really still.

“How are you doing?” he asked.

She nodded.

Mac nodded. “All right. You tell me if there’s something you don’t like or that’s uncomfortable.”

“Okay.”

He speared one of his fingers in between her soft folds and pressed on her sensitive bud, making her cry out. His finger slid farther down and penetrated her tight cunt. A groan tore from him at the silky heat and wetness that sucked his finger deeper inside her.

The need to mount her was steadily growing out of control, and he knew he needed her as hot as possible so she would accept him easily.

The scent of her was making it nearly impossible to hold himself back. He pushed two fingers into her and scissored them so he could stretch her a bit more.

When the anticipation and need became unbearable, he whipped the towel away from his hips, grabbed the condom he had set on the nightstand after they ate, and started to roll it on, and then came back to her.

She sucked in a breath when his hard male length was uncovered. She started having serious doubts that he’d be able to fit inside of her and made a distressed sound that he instantly heard.

“Shh, Baby, everything’s going to be fine. We’ll fit, I promise. We’ll just have to take it slow this first time.”

She trusted him not to hurt her, so she nodded and relaxed her legs, letting her thighs fall open. He rolled on top of her and braced his weight on his arms. She flinched at the first touch of his manhood, but she didn’t try to push him away because she was as hungry for this as much as he seemed to be.

He kept his gaze on her, making it impossible for her to close her eyes. This new intimacy made their joining even more profound.

Her nails dug into his shoulders as he slowly worked himself into her. He stopped a few times when she tensed and whimpered, but once she relaxed, he’d continue forcing his cock into her.

“That’s it, Baby. You can take me. Just relax.”

She tried to nod but was so consumed with arousal that her whole focus was on how he was taking her over and making her his.

She felt the moment he was in her to the hilt. The feel of him stretching her took over every pore in her body, and she needed him more than her next breath.

“Please.”

“I’ll take care of you.” He started thrusting in and out of her, gradually making his thrusts harder and as deep as he could.

She could feel her desire intensify and arched her body to get more of what she needed to stop the fierce aching need her body screamed for. He rammed into her, and the sharp, intense pleasure threw her over. She cried out several times and clung to him as his name flew from her mouth over and over again.

Jenny heard his grunt as her grip on his cock loosened enough for him to move freely and then felt him start pounding into her. When he hit his peak, his body convulsed with the force of his orgasm.

The Rancher's Addiction by Lila Fox
Written by LyndsayL on 26th Jul 2026

This was so good. I enjoyed the fact that Jenny would just say what she meant made for such a good story, and with Mac who is intimidating and doesn't deal with nonsense Jenny would just keep putting him in his place. I loved the back and forth between these two as Mac made his decision if he wanted to take a chance on his feeling or ignore them. Jenny who was oblivious felt he hated her and just generally didn't let his attitude affect her or her job. The chemistry was hot between these two and the story was well-written. I enjoyed every moment. This is a must read. You will fall in love with the characters as much as I did.

A Sweet Romance
Written by Danee on 26th Jul 2026

We're drawn into the lives of Jenny and Mac. Jenny didn't have an easy childhood; her parents weren't really there for her, and she was raised by nannies—the servants who saw what her parents were missing. Because she's intelligent, she completed her veterinary training in record time and chose to live and work in a small, quiet town. There she meets Mac, who's still struggling with his ex-wife's betrayal and simultaneously struggles with Jenny and the feelings he's developing for her. Trust is proving a bit trickier. I enjoyed their story, and it's definitely worth reading.

Mac is a rancher who has been burned before in his previous marriage. He still continues to have problems with her and has changed him into this gruff kind of man. Jenny is vet with an IQ of a genius. Her parents find her a disappointment because she didn’t follow their footsteps. She has been deprived of love and been alone her whole live. Even with all the she still is a sweet woman who smiles. Mac and Jenny’s relationship starts off with him pushing her away. He was instantly attracted to her but didn’t want to give in. He was stubborn. He would warn her to stay away from his ranch and him but then come to her. He couldn’t resist. He saw the walls Jenny had up and what she had gone through in her life. It slow broke through him and made him realize he couldn’t be without her. It was well written. I felt all the emotions. Jenny’s sadness about her parents and losing a patient. How Mac felt when Jenny stood up for him when no one else has.

Love it!

It was a great book....the stress of not know what are you feeling or why make them react in so many different ways, until they understand that what they are feeling is attraction. And when they give it, how amazing the relationship is.

Jenny and Mac
Written by LBing on 26th Jul 2026

This was another fun read by this author and I loved the tension and pull between Mac and Jenny. She's the new vet in town but is a genius, so she's younger than he expects of a vet. His attraction to her hits him as wrong so he's rather abrasive with her. She is innocent in many ways, but she's also fairly fearless and speaks plainly. She ends up putting him in his place, again and again ;P Of course, their tension is hot chemistry and when he can no longer deny her hold on him, sparks fly. I enjoyed seeing Mac come to grips with his need for her and how she fits so well into his life. Good fun!

The Rancher's Addiction
Written by Makeen on 26th Jul 2026

Wow, so good! Jenny and Mac fit together perfectly! He’s taciturn to her sunshine, but there’s an undeniable connection between them that burns through his reservations and suspicion. Lila Fox’s writing evokes the tenderness and wonder of new love and awareness that this couple has a beautiful future. A little help from a colleague and nature is all they needed! Jenny is used to being alone, but her life is completely different in her new town, a job she loves, and a man who cherishes her heart and soul! Heartwarming is an understatement!!

Mac and Jenny
Written by Piper34 on 26th Jul 2026

Jenny is the new vet in town. She asks Mac to dance as a dare, never expecting that he would say yes. There are run-ins around town; he doubts her ability due to her age and size. He finds out some things about her life and realises he has underestimated her. I love when Jenny stands up for Mac and her compassion.
