Rick stood against the wall, watching his beautiful wife talk to a group of women. He loved the animation on her face as she talked about her kindergarten class. He’d never met anyone as sweet as his wife, and he couldn’t imagine life without her.
He heard one of his friends chuckle and turn to face him. “What?”
“Jesus, you and Riley have been married for over six years, and you still act like newlyweds,” Joel said.
Rick shrugged. “I got lucky and grabbed a good one.”
Joel laughed. “She is pretty special. My wife can’t stop talking about her. Riley did this, or Riley said that. If I didn’t love you guys so much, I’d puke.”
Rick chuckled. His gaze went back to his wife, who was staring his way. He smiled gently when she waved. Yeah, he found a good one. Rick tensed. He smelled her before he felt her.
“There’s my handsome boy,” a sultry voice said beside them.
Rick pulled his arm away from Gloria’s grip and scowled down at her. “I’ve asked you not to touch me.” He glanced down at her and grimaced. She always wore clothing that made her look like a whore. He never liked her, and he never would. He’d seen through her phony facade from the very beginning.
Her whole demeanor was a veneer to the poisonous, toxic slut she really was. The type of person he didn’t want anywhere near his family.
He especially hated when his wife went to dinner with her or anywhere else. But his wife always saw the best in people. He loved her enthusiasm and kindness. He saw nothing good about the woman in front of him. Everything about her turned him off.

Rick glared at her. “Jesus Christ, you’re supposed to be my wife’s friend, aren’t you?”
Joel snorted. “Yeah, great friend there.”
Gloria’s eyes narrowed on Joel. “Fuck off.”
She tried to reach for him again, and he held out a hand. “Lady, don’t fucking touch me again.”
Her eyes widened at the tone of his voice. He rarely used it and only did when he was really pissed. He gritted his teeth when she rolled her eyes.
“What’s up your ass?” she asked and took a drink of her wine.
“I don’t like you. I’ve never liked you, and I wish my wife weren’t so sweet that she puts up with you.”
He almost smiled when she got a hard look in her eyes. Did he finally get through to her?
Rick looked over to his wife to see her worried look. He took a few steps away. “I’m going to my wife.”
“Just remember, the mighty can fall,” Gloria said.
He turned to look at her and narrowed his eyes. “Is that a threat?”
She took a slow sip of her drink. “No, of course not.”
He didn’t believe anything the woman said. He noticed that the guys he was talking to walked a few steps away, not wanting to be near the slut. “You just remember. You fuck with my family, and you’ll regret it,” he said.
One of her brows lifted. “Is that a threat?”
“Fuck, yes, it is.” He turned and headed to Riley. Once he got to her, his arm wrapped around her waist.
She placed her hand on his chest. “Is everything okay?” she asked worriedly.
He pressed a kiss to her forehead. “Everything’s okay, Sweetheart.”
“Did she say something?” Riley asked.
“She always says something that irritates me.”
Riley nodded and leaned her head against his chest. “I’m sorry.”
He rubbed his chin against the top of her head. “Don’t you be sorry. None of this is your fault.”
“I know you don’t like her, but she’s been my friend for two decades, and I know she’s lonely, so she does things to get attention, but she’s not a bad person.”
He almost snorted but instead took a drink of his scotch. “When do you want to leave?” he asked.
Riley turned until she faced Rick, pressed her chest to his, and smiled coyly up at him. “Right now, I want some alone time with my husband.”
His heart always felt like it would burst from his chest when she talked like that. He shot back the rest of his drink and set the glass on one of the tables before wrapping an arm around Riley and leading her out.
A chill went up his spine when he caught the dark, hostile look in Gloria’s eyes before she turned away. There was something wrong with the woman. She had some kind of mental illness, but there was also a vicious, cruel streak in her. He hadn’t ever worried about it or even thought it was serious until he just caught her looking at them. He’d keep his eye on things and maybe keep Riley so busy she couldn’t go out with Gloria.
They made it home, and he pulled them into the garage, shut the door behind them, and turned off the car before looking at his wife.
He couldn’t take it another moment. He unbuckled both of them and pulled her into his lap, facing him, smiling when she laughed. He gripped a chunk of her hair so he could control her and then started tormenting her lips and raising her need for him.
She had her arms wrapped around his neck, trying to get as close as possible, but it still wasn’t enough for him. He needed her naked and under him within a few minutes, or he’d lose it.

The drama of the lies from the OW was done so well too but I loved how it was all sorted and dealt with and how they got to be happy in the end! I cannot wait for her next book!
I love this book! Riley and Rick are a fantastic couple. They face an uphill battle to overcome all the opposition in their way. This book has some excellent plot twists that kept me on my toes until the end. It's a great story with the best HEA.

This is a short read but so much happens within those pages. There was a moment when I was saying, “Don’t do it.” I was on edge and shocked. The OW drama was perfect. Great book and a definite reread!
I wasn't sure what was going down when I started the book, but I knew Gloria was trouble. A loving marriage is almost ruined by jealousy and spite. The relationship is held together with love, honesty and a little revenge. This book is a fairly quick read and contains a lot of spicy open door content. If you like your erotica with a little plot try this out.
