Blaze Sinclair is a hardworking man that is used to getting what he wants. He is also a bit of a playboy…or at least he was until he met Cassie Walker. She is the woman of his dreams. She is unlike any of the women he has dated before. She curvy and luscious and he longs to get his hands on her body. He just doesn’t know how to approach her. The other problem is he has to get rid of the other woman in his life. She won’t leave him alone and is trying to rope him into marriage. Then everything in his life changes in one night. He receives news that rocks his world and leaves him reeling. He reaches out to Cassie and uses her to meet his needs without thinking about her emotions or needs. An action he deeply regrets instantly. Life goes on and he must forget her and try to find happiness without her. The only problem is he can’t get her out of his mind and his mistake has haunted him for years. Now he has a son and is newly single and headed for a family vacation. What he doesn’t expect is to see the woman he has loved again. When he sees her his world is turned upside down again and he knows he must find a way to convince her that they are meant to be together. But how can he do that after the way he treated her before? Will he be successful or will he fail?
Cassie Walker has a crush on her boss. He is sexy and he is the man that stars in all of her fantasies, but he is unavailable and she does not seem to be his type. She is nothing like the women who want to rope him for their own. In fact she is nothing like any of her coworkers they are all skinny and blonde, and she does not fit into that description. She has some meat on her bones. Then one night she finds him alone and she finds that all her fantasies are coming true. They share a night of passion together and it was everything she hoped it could be. The only problem is they have not talked since then. He seems to be avoiding her, so she does the only thing a respectable woman could…hand in her resignation. She can’t bear the thought of being in the office with him every day. That is would be too painful. To top matters off she saw the announcement of his engagement to another woman. She makes something of herself and tries to move on but she can’t seem to even after it has been years. Then they come face to face and her world is about to change. Can she ever trust him? Or will the transgressions of his past leave her burned forever?
I really enjoyed reading Blaze’s Second Chance. It was well written and had a good plot. I enjoyed the characters immensely. My favorites, of course, were the main characters; but I did enjoy reading about Chris and Erica, and Molly and David. They added to the story especially Chris because he was constantly medaling in everyone else’s love life because of a mistake he made in his past. He was a hopeless romantic when it came to everyone but himself. I enjoyed Cassie’s character because she did not just wallow in pity after things went awry. She picked herself up by the bootstraps and was able to come out on top in the end. I also loved that she was a plump woman because it showed that Blaze was not a shallow man. Blaze’s character was a good one as well. He wasn’t a terrible man he tried to do what was right even if it wasn’t what was right for him. He was honorable and I liked that about him. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys erotic romances. It is full of fun loving characters that won’t soon be forgotten.
