Alfie is unapologetic in his possessiveness of Sophia. While they might not be dating – indeed, she isn’t even aware that he’s addicted to watching her – Alfie knows beyond a doubt this woman belongs body and soul to him. He just needs to show that to her. After a year of protecting her from afar Alfie is finally ready to make his move. Can he convince Sophia that he’s everything she needs? I had to laugh in a number of places throughout this story. The warning about Alfie being slightly stalkerish is a truthful one – he’s put his nose into her medical records, hacked her home computer, made a deal with her boss to get her a better raise, Alfie is absolutely an all-or-nothing kind of guy. But I have to be honest, while he’s definitely “overbearing alpha hero” in abundance, I personally found the manner with which his character was written was light-hearted and almost tongue-in-cheek. Would I want a guy in my life doing almost any of these things? Hell no. Do I think someone who truly is a stalker or this much of a control-freak is a good thing? Definitely not. I can see for many people this wouldn’t be a joke – and readers should absolutely keep this in mind before purchasing the book. But I personally felt it was written really well – light and not in a controlling/abusive or horrible way – and the author made it abundantly clear beneath this veneer Alfie truly did love Sophie and want only the best for her. This is what shone through for me and along with the lighthearted – almost humorous – method of portraying it, made it quite palatable for me. When they finally meet, Alfie knows he needs to move slowly. I enjoyed watching Alfie and Sophie’s characters interact and follow along as things moved both according to Alfie’s plan – and not according to his plans too. I felt the best part was the slow burn building between them. Particularly since Sophie had no idea just how thoroughly Alfie already knew her, I would have found it too unrealistic had she simply taken one look into his eyes and dropped her pants – Sophie just isn’t that sort of character. But watching them get closer – watching Alfie having to wait and maneuver delicately – was fun and helped show me just how well these two could finally work together as a romantic couple. The fact it was a slow-burn and not a crazy, red-hot insta-love really helped sell the relationship – and thus the whole story – to me. I really liked this and feel it was exceptionally well handled by the author. The sex was hot and steamy and sure to appeal to readers who like their sex explicit and just a very little bit dirty. Alfie has lusted after Sophie for so long when they finally manage to consummate their relationship he can’t hold himself back any longer. Readers should pay strong attention to the stalkerish/controlling hero warning but I’m personally pleased I gave this story a shot. I found it to be a fun, loving and interesting story that because of the characters read as quite fresh and different to me. I enjoyed Alfie and Sophia’s characters and was thrilled to see Alfie finally get his woman.
From the moment Alfie Brown saw Sophia Cross, he knew without a shadow of a doubt that she was meant for him. She is perfect, beautiful, and he wants to own, to possess every single one of her curves. All he has to do is make sure they meet, and then he can get her to fall in love with him. Simple enough, and he is a man who always gets what he wants.
Sophia just can’t make a decision that could affect the rest of her life. All people want her to do is pick a subject, pick a career, and then live with it for the next fifty years—but the next fifty years is a long time.
Still, when her friend begs her to go for an interview at Brown Enterprise, Sophia can’t say no. Though it is the worst interview of her life, she gets the job, much to her surprise. And her boss, Alfie, is unlike any man she has ever known. His skills draw her out, and she comes alive. She can’t say no to him. He surrounds her, makes her feel things that she really didn’t think she could.
But how will she feel when she discovers the truth of how he planned everything, from their meeting to her job?
Warning: This book has a hero that is straight out of fantasy land. If you do not like alphas that are somewhat stalkerish, this is not the book for you.
Be Warned: bondage, spanking
He smiled. “You did some digging on me?”
She sighed. “I was curious.”
“Does you roommate know these things about me?”
“No, of course not. I didn’t tell her anything. My face did.”
Alfie chuckled. “Your face told your friend stuff about us?”
“Yeah, it sounds completely crazy, but she mentioned about you being hot, and we did that thing on your sofa in your office.”
“I made you come.” He cupped her face, stroking her smooth, soft cheeks. She was so beautiful. He didn’t want anything in the way, especially not her hair.
“I was thinking about that, and I never helped you.” Her hand landed on his stomach. “I don’t know what is happening to me.”
“What do you mean?”
“No guy has ever made me lose control like that. I’ve never wanted to be with anyone. I was happy in my own little virgin world, and now, I can’t stop thinking about you.” She covered his hands with her own. “Whenever I’m near you I think about your hands on my body. The way your tongue flicked my nipple, and I want more. Even when I’m not near you, I remember it, and it’s driving me crazy.”
“I have my own room, Sophia. You don’t have to do this.” He couldn’t believe he was saying that, but he loved this woman so much that he was willing to wait for her. Never in his life had he waited for anything, and yet he was doing it for this woman—this woman that didn’t even know he’d been obsessed with her from the first moment he saw her.
She took his hand, and then slid it down to cup her breast. “I don’t want a promotion. I want to stay another intern, but I can’t stop these feelings for you. Unless you’ve drugged me.” She spoke the last part with a smile. “We both know that isn’t possible.”
He cupped her breast. The nipple was already rock hard as it pressed against his palm. “You want me to fuck you, baby. You want me to pop that sweet little cherry, and make you mine.”
“I warn you, Sophia, the moment you cross that line, the moment my dick is inside you, everything else stops, and you become mine, completely. There’s no way that I would ever share what was mine.”
Sam Crescent proves why she's called the queen of curvy romance with this delightful May/December romance. Alfie Brown is a strong, successful businessman who knows exactly what he wants. He's determined and methodical and his actions are just this side of over the top? Sophie Cross is kindhearted and confused. She's young but she feels the pressure to decide her career and in fact her entire future. I enjoyed watching her trying to balance her wants with what she wondered were her needs and if she had to risk happiness to ensure her future. I enjoyed watching her reactions to Alfie and his manipulations. Her joy in the publishing business he'd purchased and her confusion with her internship. Her friendship with Freya was quite interesting and I have to say I'm looking forward to seeing what her friend's adventure is all about. This is the type of story you love to read, the type where you know exactly what you are getting but knowing the ending doesn't distract from the pleasure of the ride. If you like love stories between curvy heroines and the alpha men who love them, pick this one up, you won't be disappointed. The Story: Used to working hard and getting exactly what he wants Alfie Brown sees Sophie Cross and decides to play the long game. He plans and nudges Sophie's life, without her being aware, exactly to where he can convince her they are perfect for one another.
Jared is in love. Hopelessly, helplessly, completely in love. The problem is that Freya is self-conscious and doesn’t understand how much she means to him. This is a simple but sweet story of falling in love and getting that elusive happily ever after. I like Jared. His feelings for Freya come through loud and clear. His intentions are honorable and from his heart. Which is why some of the creepy bits feel acceptable, such as the camera’s in the apartment. Jared persistence is a complete turn on too. Freya has issues and she doesn’t want to want Jared but she does. We women can be a complicated bunch. I like the push and pull between them. The romance is hot if a little predictable. Freya’s a virgin and Jared’s a sex god. Addicted to his Touch hit that swoon spot for me though. I’ve been in the mood for this kind of sweep you off your feet book. Jared and Freya are perfect for that satisfaction
Honestly, I'm not sure how I feel about Alfie. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind stalkerish H, but Alfie was over the top manipulative stalker. Which, I mean manipulative part, I don't always like. It just gaves a feeling, like h are just a piece in chess game, when H guids her where he wanted. On the other hand, though Alfie may gone about it the wrong way, but he did this with good intentions, a little bit selfish with wanting Sophia in his life no matter what, and wishing to bring her dreams at her feet. I'm not sure how Sophia herself should feel about it all, when she finds out. Charmed or angry? Maybe both? I guess, it all goes down to the fact, if Alfie was successful to win Sophias heart, before she learns how crazily obsessive he is about her.
Sam has done it again ! Alfie knows Sophia is his in every way even before he knows her name! Some may feel he goes a little far with the lengths with which he goes to have his woman close but through it all this sexy, over the top alpha knows exactly what he wants. Sophia. Her Happiness. Her close to him. Her love. Every inch of her mind, body and soul. His objective is clear and he is a man who always gets what he sets out for. However the one thing he didn't plan for was Sophia's reaction when she finds out exactly how far he has gone for her to be his. I totally loved this book and the chemistry between Alfie and Sophia. If you are not into shorter, insta love and lust, aggravatingly sexy alpha men who are totally focused on making their woman theirs whatever it takes then no this book is not for you. However, if you are then you need to one click this book immediately! Happy Reading!
I Voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book Alfie saw Sophia one night when he was at a restaurant and since then he has been infatuated with her and now he is just in love with her. For the past year he has watched over her, made sure she had everything she would need. And now it's time to make his move and get her to fall in love with him This was a totally OTT Alphamale obsessed with his women and would do anything to make her feel happy and safe. Loved it from beginning to end
This is such an awesome read. It's short but I loved it so much !! You should definitely read this !! Alfie is so amazing !! Stalker-ish ways and all !! You can't help but love him !!
Alfie maybe be sort of a stalker but you can't help but fall in love with him. He just wants what is best for his woman, Sophia! Only Sophia doesn't realize what Alfie has done over the last year to help her. After they start their relationship, Sophia's roommate figures out what Alfie has done and confronts him on it. What will Sophia do when she finds out how he has set things up for her? Loved the story and the characters. I always love an OTT Alpha man and how he will do almost anything for his woman. Sam Crescent has this down pat!!!
I love an OTT alpha, and Alfie hit the spot. He was so in love with Sophia, he had no boundries. -no cheating -no ow/om drama whatsoever -older man/younger woman -virgin heroine -steamy -good epilogue 10 years out
