Excerpt:

I hear someone banging on the front door and then loud voices. I am on the other end of the house so I can’t exactly make out what they are saying but I do hear my name. Hopefully, it’s the police with some news on the fire. I jump out of bed only to realize I don’t have any dry clothes to wear. I do slip on my damp panties underneath the shirt for some form of modesty. Not that it matters, the damn t-shirt hangs down on my knees.

I leave the room and walk down the hallway to see what the hell is going on.

“Where the hell is my sister?” Aurora yells in Draven’s face while Derick tries to hold her back.

“Jesus, Aurora. I’m right here,” I mumble.

This is the last thing I wanted to deal with this morning, especially before I’ve even had a single sip of coffee. Yes, I am thankful that my sister cares enough to come and find me in my darkest hour, but couldn’t life have given me five minutes to prepare before throwing her at me? I sigh, making my way across the hardwood floor.

“Oh, sweetie, I heard about the fire,” she says as she turns to face me, shrugging off her husband’s hands. “What the hell are you wearing?” Her tone jumps from sympathy to accusatory in a heartbeat. Aurora glares, throwing knives in my direction. If looks could kill, I would have been flayed to the bone.

I look down at the yellow t-shirt and see on the front it reads, I Heart Firemen, in big, black letters. It’s one of those designs with the big old red heart right in the middle of the lettering and I can’t help but chuckle.

“Seems appropriate to me. I’m alive because of a firefighter, you know?” I say while walking past her. I’m being a little bitchier than normal but that’s because I am not a morning person. I need at least one cup of java before I can face people and be the friendly person most people know.

“Coffee,” I grumble when I reach Draven’s side. He chuckles before handing me his mug and slinging his arm across my shoulder.

“Morning.” Draven smiles as he caresses my cheek, and I get lost in his dark gaze.

Maybe I’m still asleep? This entire interaction is at around a ten on my weirdness meter. Why is Draven staring at me like he wants to take a bite? And he keeps touching me like it’s the most normal, innocent thing in the world. Can smoke inhalation cause hallucinations?

“So, you are really fucking her?” Aurora demands, bringing me back to the present with a thud.

“Jesus Christ,” Derick whispers, running his hands through his hair. “How is that any of your business, Aurora?”

“Harmony is my business,” she hisses at her husband before returning her glare to us.

Draven’s grip on my shoulder tightens at her words, clearly already irritated by my sister. Shaking my head, I look around the kitchen taking everything in, trying to orient myself and figure out if I am actually awake. The kitchen is on the smaller side with dark wooden cabinets, white countertops, yellow curtains, and a little table with two chairs in front of the bay window. I can’t hallucinate something I’ve never seen before, can I? So, I must be awake, and this must be real.

“Not that it’s any of your business,” I say calmly, facing my sister once more. “But Draven has been the perfect gentleman.”

“I can’t believe you would do this to me,” she says in a melodramatic whisper. “You’re my sister,” she hisses as she leans forward across the countertop.

“I haven’t done anything.”

I lean forward too, resting my elbows on the white surface. The shirt I am wearing rides up the back of my thighs. I feel Draven’s finger graze the exposed skin and I nearly swallow my tongue. What the fuck?

“You need to come with me,” Aurora demands.

“Why?” My voice is hoarse and I pray to God that everyone assumes it’s because of the smoke and not because of what the man behind me is doing.

“Because I said so!” She stomps her foot like a two-year-old in mid-tantrum.

“I don’t think so,” I say taking another sip of Draven’s coffee before handing it back.

“Babe,” Derick says taking my sister’s hand. “Harmony is fine. Draven would never let anything happen to her and you know that. Let’s head out.”

Burning Desire is Book 1 of the Kidds Beach Fire Department series. It's a short and steamy, OTT, age-gap, girl gets her firefighter small-town romance. Draven is a 32 year old hunky firefighter who has just returned home after 5 years to take the job as the new fire chief. Harmony is a sweet and curvy bakery owner. Her older sister, Aurora, was married to Draven until she cheated on him. Harmony has crushed on Draven since she was little. When they cross paths, their attraction is instant. At first, they both think they should resist but realize they can't. These two had insane chemistry, and the ending was happy after a lot of sister drama. She really was a piece of work. I loved it and can't wait for more books in the series.

I really enjoyed burning desire which was Draven and Harmony’s story. It was a steamy and intense ride. Great chemistry between the characters. I got a copy of the book and voluntarily leaving this review.

This is a short read. This is Draven and Harmony’s story. Draven is back in town and the fire chief. Harmony has started her dream business. Her sister is back in town too. She is Draven’s ex, but hurt him in the worst way. Can Harmony and Draven have a future together? What will her sister do when she sees them talking?

Burning Desire is the first installment of Kidds Beach Fire Department book series written by Jade Marshall. This was a good short story with main characters that are relatable. The story moves at a quick pace. It’s a sweet and steamy read between a firefighter and a baker that shows that second chances can prove to win in the long run.

A new series called Kidds Beach Fire Department, a short well written story that held my interest. Firefighter Draven Black rescues Harmony Lewis who he has history with she is his ex-sister-in-law. I enjoyed reading their story. Her sister was really something.

A return leads to love

Draven starts a new job in his old hometown and runs into his ex-wife’s sister. Harmony is funny and blurts out whatever is on her mind. Draven causes her thoughts and heart to be jumbled up. He’s got that great protective hero thing going on and that is much to Harmony’s benefit. Disaster brings them closer than ever before and sparks fly high. Many things are packed into these few pages. I wasn’t ready to be finished with these characters so soon.

This is a short novella that packs a punch from the first chapter to the last. Everything is so realistic. The MCs are so adorable and their relationship is so full of emotions. At first I thought it would be weird that she was his ex-sister-in-law but it worked out well. I felt sorry for Harmony when her sister was being a brat and caused major trouble for her. I highly recommend this book to all second chance romance readers.

I loved Draven and Harmony’s story in Burning Desire by Jade Marshall. Harmony is the last person he should have feelings for but he can’t deny how she pulls him whenever she’s near. When he has to save her from a fire it put everything into perspective and as they spend more and more time together they can’t deny the feelings they have for each other.

This book is so good and will definitely have you hooked from the beginning until the end and the storyline flows throughout the book. Marcus is dealing with alot of guilt and needs to get away when he meets Riley ,but when her secret comes out will it destroy them?

I was just thinking, maybe it was all meant to be! She needed some time to grow, and he had to figure out what he truly wanted. In the end, it turned out they were the perfect match for each other all along! And now, they’ve built the wonderful life they both dreamed of.

"Wild. Untamed. Dangerous." The author vividly describes the chemistry between Draven and Harmony, which blazes like fire. Draven and Harmony have a past as ex-in-laws, so that alone sends up red flags, but sometimes what the heart wants isn't always what we see as conventional and practical. When a fire threatens Harmony's life and livelihood, Draven is there doing what he loves, fighting fires and rescuing those in need. Fate has brought them back together, can they get over the past and see what the future has in store for them? This is my first book by this author, and I enjoyed it a lot. I highly recommend it to other romance readers.

He never expected to feel the pull of attraction to his ex-wife's younger sister. Harmony has always had a thing for her sister's ex, he probably should want nothing to do with her after what her sister did to him. But when her sister starts trouble, she asks him out to dinner. This is a sweet and steamy read, this fire fighter turns up the heat.

Draven is returning home after 5 years and most of the business he grew up with are still there. He has returned to be co-chief of the firehouse. He decides that he needs to go to Cake My LIfe and finds out the little sister of his ex-wife owns and runs it. Harmony had always had a crush on him. She is the total opposite of her sister, Aurora. Aurora cheated on Draven with his best friend, Derek. Everything goes to heck afterwards and it was both terrifying, and heartbreaking and squee-worthy. Draven realizes he has feelings for Harmony who has no filter. I found that hilarious. The book was fun, funny, romantic & Sweet and steamy. There were scary parts and I loved all of it. I want more books in this world. Please?! Lol

This is the first story in the new "Kidds Beach Fire Department" series and does stand alone. It is a fairly short and quick read with a touch of second chance and a splash of drama. The story is about Draven and Harmony. Draven has returned home to the small town of Kidds Beach, to become a fire chief. He walks into the local bakery and sees Harmony. He grew up with her and she is also his ex-wife's little sister. Harmony, has started her dream, the local bakery. When she sees Draven, he forever crush, she gets nervous as usual. When her sister walks in on something innocent, the fun begins. Well, there is also a little crazy, some jealousy, a fire and temptation. This is a sweet story with passion and steamy bits.

The plot of this book was different from what I expected, and it is a good different. Draven has returned home, where he is the new fire chief. His former sister-in-law, Harmony, now owns a bakery and is living her dream. Draven and Harmony discover a strong attraction to each other, and all the struggles to be together are worth it. There are several twists that make this an excellent book, with plenty of spice and a perfect HEA.

Harmony and Draven are combustible heat!!! Intense chemistry!! Such a great steamy read! Filled with intense drama, danger, angst, desire, feelings, and spice! These two can’t fight their chemistry or their feelings for each other and so we are taken on their journey of love and discovery. Great read!

Harmony has just opened up her new Bakery and loves every moment of it. She runs into Draven her sister's Ex- Husband at the grocery store. She has been in love with him for years before he even got with her sister. She was surprised to see him back in town. Draven had moved back to be the fire chief and is still finding this footing back in this town when he runs into Harmony. He finds himself taken with her immediately. When Draven saves Harmony from a fire in her bakery and home things proceed with their relationship and they come together and can't fight the chemistry between the two of them. This was a fun read and I enjoyed it. I recommend this book.

This was an engaging and steamy read that finally brings Harmony and Draven to a place where they can let feelings bloom between them. She crushed on him years ago but he married her sister. Well, that didn't last and now he's back in town. Only, the chemistry between them is like nothing they've experienced and they run with it. So hot, but there's danger afoot and intense family drama. I loved seeing Draven and Harmony get a wonderful HEA and look forward the the next book :D
