The couple had great chemistry, the banter was top notch and the best part is the book is pretty short so this is a one sitting read. It's book two in the series and while Book 1 is referenced, I didn't miss a ton by not reading it, but I'll probably go back and check it out. I did read the first one, Alceu, and rather enjoyed it. I enjoyed this one just as much. You do not have to read them in order though. Of course, there are connected characters but this one is about Severu, one of the brothers, and Lira, a police officer. It is a fairly quick read that is steamy and sweet with some dark aspects and a touch of danger. She is undercover as a bartender when they first meet. The attraction between them is instant. He rescues her and takes her to his home but is shocked what he finds when he checks in on her. I enjoyed their story even the wonderful surprise and his touching words. I will say I had to google what one thing in the story was. It sounds interesting and painful. Lira is a cop but when she is constantly not being taken seriously she asks for a transfer and ends up going undercover and working in a bar so that she can get information on the Cammareri Family and take them down but when she finds herself in a bad and difficult situation it is Severu that comes to her rescue and the more time that she spends with him she realised that they are not who they are constantly made out to be causing Lira to question everything and have conflicting emotions especially when she starts to have feelings for Severu who doesn't know who she is but what will happen when her secret is revealed will it cost her everything. Wow I absolutely loved this book and Lira and Severu's chemistry is so strong and intense that you can feel it sizzling off the pages and I couldn't put this book down as it was a real page turner that kept you on the edge of your seat wondering what would happen next and also so addictive.
