Book 2 was amazing--Love love this series
I am a sucker for a nanny/boss story and this was so good--I love this series and this author can pack a punch in a short read--love love love this one so much.
The Good Knight Society, 2
Grace’s world was bleak. Her father was abusive both physically and emotionally. When she gets the chance to escape, she finally thinks she can have a life of her own. Her employer was the opposite of her father. This man was gentle and actually wanted to be with her. It was a dream come true, but the threats against what she cared about most sent her back to her father. A place she never thought she’d be again.
Robert was desperate for a nanny. When he was told about Grace, he instantly hired her. From the start, he could see the damage her father had done, and it made him even more determined to bring the man down. It seemed the Society already had a file on Grace’s father, and it was getting thicker with information every day.
When he unexpectedly loses her, he does whatever it takes to get her back to him, where she belonged.
Be Warned: anal sex
Excerpt:
“No, Sweetheart. Don’t you dare hide from me. I want you to relax and see how good I can make you feel.”
Robert lowered his head and sucked one of her nipples into his mouth. It was a soft suction at first, but then her cries grew, and her body thrashed around, which he controlled and kept her still.
He went back and forth between her breasts for several minutes. During that time, he let his hand skin over her stomach and lower to her upper thighs, letting her get used to his touch.
He moved down between her thighs. He didn’t think she knew when he tore the panties off her hips. The rules he’d have for her in the bedroom could come later.
“Robert!” she yelled when one of his fingers slid between her cunt lips and pressed on the bundle of nerves. He knew that would drive her crazy.
Grace’s hands tried to pull him away from her pussy, but he would not be denied. She was his wife, and he was going to make sure they consummated their marriage.
A groan tore from his throat when he pushed the first finger into her. The tightness was unbelievable, but it also made him worry that she’d have trouble taking him. He held her steady, studying her expression and giving her sweet kisses as he encouraged her.
He added another finger and then a third, wanting to stretch her out and help ease her discomfort when he thrust into her the first time.
When he knew she was ready, he lifted himself over her and between her thighs, using his hips to widen them enough to make room for him.
Instead of taking time, he started to steadily push into her until he felt her hymen block him. He reached in between them and started to torment her clit, taking her mind off the pain he unfortunately had to cause her. When she started lifting her hips and crying out, he thrust through the membrane and came to a stop to calm her.
Grace cried out.
“Shhh, Sweetheart, I’m so sorry,” he said. “It’s over. You’ll never feel pain again.”
It took another minute before her tears stopped, and she relaxed under him.
“Tell me if you feel any pain,” he told her.
His thrusts started slow and easy and seemed to last forever until she was begging him for something she didn’t understand. His moves became harder and deeper, and still she cried for more.
Robert tried to soothe her, but he was so close to the jagged edge of need that he felt his concentration should be on keeping himself in check.
He could tell by the glazed look in her eyes and the way her cunt tightened on his cock that she was ready to be thrown over. He reached between them again and pinched her clit, making her scream and arch.
Her body convulsed under him. At the same time, his own satisfaction was gaining. The cum spurt from his cock and seemed to go on forever. When he felt his seed start to seep from her full cunt, he almost came again.
They both lay silently, and the only sounds in the room were their gasps for breath.
I am a sucker for a nanny/boss story and this was so good--I love this series and this author can pack a punch in a short read--love love love this one so much.
Grace has been though alot at her father's hand/ And Robert needs a nanny. I enjoyed this story and watching her come out of her shell. A wonderful read,
Poor Grace at the start but to be kept safe by her future was a lovely read. The story was superb and full of love and happiness. Both get the ending they want I recieved a free copy via Booksprout and I’m giving my review freely and honestly
I definitely enjoyed Robert and Grace’s story I was captivated by these characters journey to love their chemistry and attraction was unbelievably sizzling and matched just right for a worthy read
This is the second book of The Good Knight Society series. This is the story of Grace and Robert. I loved how protective Robert became of Grace. I don't want to spoil this book for anyone so I won't go into details. Well worth the time reading this book.
Right out of college, Robert was asked to join the Good Knight Society. The group had come a long way since he joined. Channing was one of his closest friends. His daughter, at 3, is a handful and his housekeeper/cook, Taylor has been taking care of her for a while now. Hannah is adorable and his ex wife (Dana) left lil Hannah without looking back and he just couldn’t understand it. Channing tells Robert that Emmet Nichols has a daughter who might be able to help. Robert didn’t know that Emmet had a daughter who is never spoken about or seen in public. So he speaks to Emmet and we find out everything is soooo much worse than Channing or Robert even knew. I cried over that. Emmet allows Grace to help Robert as a nanny. I was shocked and heartbroken over everything that happens until she is at Robert’s home. Grace starts off as extremely shy and quiet, but she likes Taylor and lil Hannah immediately. Things progress and Robert does a lot to gain Grace’s trust. I loved the story and I want to know more about Channing. Taylor is awesome and Hannah is adorable and a riot. Grace ends up having a crush on Robert and then things progress and he saves her. The questions of how, why, etc. are all answered and it is awesome. I love how Robert and Hannah interact, it made me laugh a lot. I just wanted to hug Grace and tell her everything was going to be okay. I’d love to find out how the Society came into being. The fact that one of its tenets is to not let anything be known about it is amazing. I can’t wait to see what happens next.
I loved reading Robert and Grace’s story in Hidden Desire by Lila Fox. Grace lives her life in fear of the physical and emotional abuse from her father. She is always on edge never knowing what he will do. When he takes her to be a nanny for an important man she thinks she may finally get a break. When Robert first meets Grace he can tell she’s been hurt and he’s determined to find out by who and make it stop. As they navigate all the daily ups and down they find that they have feelings for each other but when she’s taken away he’ll do whatever it takes to get her back.
Robert's nanny had to leave and he is having a hard time finding a new one for his three year old daughter, Hannah. A friend tells him of an acquaintance. Emmet, that has a daughter that would be suitable. Emmet agrees providing that he will do him a favor. Grace has been abused by her father for years, isolated and starved at times. He father tells her lies about Robert, that if she misbehaves he will treat her worse. Robert is drawn to Grace from the start but notices the bruises and how fragile she appears. He asks the society to look into what she has been subjected from her father. He is determined to protect her no matter what. Robert and Hannah are just what Grace needs after the awful life she had with her father.
This is Robert and Graces story. Robert has a little girl Hannah and needs a nanny so when a friend of his suggests Grace he hires her. Grace is happy to escape her abusive father and quickly bonds with Hannah. Robert and Grace soon realize there is an attraction between them as well but Graces father continues to interfere. Will they get their HEA or will Graces father be their downfall? Check it out to see.
I love the plot of this book. Grace has been held captive by her father all her life. He physically and emotionally abused her daily. Robert is a wealthy businessman who needs a nanny for his small daughter. So, he arranges for Grace to be brought to his home. Robert is like a knight swooping to rescue Grace from her evil father. The plot moves quickly and hooks you from the beginning to the end. Excellent book!
This is the second story in the "Good Knight Society" series where protective men have formed a secret society to be knight's in shining armor an protect and assist those in harms way. Such a good read with an intriguing and interesting plot. The story is fairly short, quick, fast paced and addictive. I love the characters; her dad, not so much. The story is about Robert and Grace. His housekeeper has been caring for his young daughter but she cannot continue to keep up with the little three year old. He needs a nanny and his friend suggest Emmet has a daughter that may can help. Emmet has to think about it but finally sees he may benefit from his daughter, Grace, working for Robert. Grace, taken out of school at a young age, has been physically, emotionally and mentally abused by her father. She thinks Robert will be the same way but welcomes the chance to get away from her father. She falls instantly for Hannah and soon realizes that Robert is nothing like her father. Robert falls hard and fast for Grace and vows to protect her, keep her and never let her father have her back. This is a sweet and steamy story with some action and more.
Grace has been hidden and hurt most of her life and now she is being taken to a new home to be a live-in nanny. Her life changes for the better but she still is so sheltered it’s like she has to learn everything about life. Robert desperately needs a nanny for his daughter and Grace is just the person to help. He knows her father isn’t a good person but he’s not prepared for the damage done to Grace. His feelings are strong and he knew from the moment he laid eyes on her she is the one. His patience and tenderness is so dreamy but it’s the connection that makes everything perfect!!
I really liked the MMC! He’s just perfect as he is—a genuinely good man and an amazing father. The FMC is so resilient, too. She’s a wonderful woman, and I’m so happy that she’s found her home with him!
This is Book 2 of The Good Knight Society. I wish it were a longer story. I love this story about Grace an Robert. Grace is an abuse woman, Robert is in need of a nanny. Together they will have compassion, love, drama. I couldn't get enough of them.
This was a beautiful story with a little bit of a trigger level regarding abuse. We follow Grace and Robert. Grace doesn't have it easy because she is abused by her father and sees no way out. But there is a light for her when Robert is looking for a nanny for his daughter and decides to hire Grace. Will she find happiness with Robert and be able to find peace now that she is away from her father? There is drama, sadness, lies, patience, romance and passion.
This was a wonderful spin on the nanny trope. This is not the first time I have read this author and definitely will not be the last. Robert was closed off to everyone but his daughter, Hannah, and the housekeeper, Taylor. His need of nanny is what made him speak to Emmet about his daughter, Grace, who happened to be an unknown to everyone. Grace was abused, imprisoned and degraded by her father after the death of her mother. Once Grace was in the home of Robert, things changed quickly under the watchful eye of Taylor. Grace realized that daddies loved their daughters and took care of them, protected them and guided them. This author touched/discussed some very triggering subjects with grace and laughter. Looking forward to more from the Good Knight Society like more history.
Robert desperately needed a nanny and Grace a chance to get away from her abusive father. And they found both way more than they hoped. They found love, family, happiness and comfort. I absolutely loved the way Grace changes with the love and comfort of Robert. It‘s an amazing story about love, finding family and dealing with a difficult/abusive past.
Robert needs a nanny for his daughter (ex-wife/mother isn't in the picture). His friend (and fellow member of the Good Knight Society) Channing tells him about Grace... Grace lives at home under the complete control of her father- being abused, insulted, and left to starve for days. She happily agrees to be a live-in nanny for Robert. Once Robert sees Grace, he's completely enamored and his daughter loves her immediately, too. I loved how Grace came out of her shell and loved living with Robert. Of course, her tyrant father couldn't leave her be for long... I enjoyed the relationship progressions between Grace and all the members of the household. This was a great quick read.
Good read. Wonderful OTT instalove, Alpha male romance read. Wonderful characters and a fabulous read for a quiet sunday
This is a novella about Grace and Robert which I read in one evening. I love how story was written and Robert’s daughter. Robert becomes Grace’s protector when she becomes his daughter’s nanny. This book includes some drama, romance, and insta-connection. I hope there are more books in this series.
Definitely read the T/W before diving into this book as Grace's situation is heartbreaking before she meets Robert. Grace manages to escape her father's home because Robert needs a nanny. He knows Grace's father but thankfully they aren't friends. Robert and Grace attempt to chart a path to happiness but her father is a persistent obstacle. I admired Grace's strength and resilience given what she went through. I appreciate Robert's steadfastness when it came to Grace. This was a good book and I'm so happy that Grace and Robert got their HEA.
This book was romantic and hot. This story is about instant attraction and has plenty of sexy times.
So the desire in this book was not hidden well. The main characters fell in list and love with each other immediately, which of course is unusual. Then came the HEA which was okay but not great!!
This is another exciting read for the series of and I loved following Grace, an abused gal (off page) grow into the woman she was meant to be. Robert may have needed a nanny for his daughter, but he got so much more than that when he hired Grace. I love how his home showed her how love and family should be and that it opened her heart so much. Expect an engaging reading ride filled with action, growth and heat. Good fun!
Great second book in this series. Not so much mentioned about The Good Knight Society but it pops up in the background. It was tough reading about Grace's life before becoming a nanny but as always a fantastic story
Robert is a busy man running his business and actively participating in the Good Knight Society. He’s also the father of a three-year-old daughter, Hannah, who needs more care than his cook and housekeeper can provide. When one of his fellow society members suggests the daughter of a local businessman as a potential nanny, Robert reaches out to Emmet and makes the proposal. Emmet agrees, in exchange for a favor from Robert. Grace, Emmet's daughter, has lived a life of hardship. Ever since her mother passed away when she was in third grade, Grace has been isolated, starved, and abused by her father. When the opportunity arises to leave her father's home, Grace initially feels a glimmer of hope—until her father ominously warns her that Robert is even more cruel than he is. This instills a deep fear in Grace as she begins her new role as Hannah's nanny. Despite her fears, Grace and Hannah quickly form a loving bond. Robert, too, is drawn to Grace, noticing her fragility, the bruises on her body, and how she secretly hoards food out of fear. Sensing the severity of her past, Robert enlists the Good Knight Society to investigate Emmet. As their connection deepens, Robert decides to marry Grace—not only to protect her from her father but also because he realizes he loves her. However, Grace's newfound happiness is short-lived. When she overhears Robert discussing a potential threat to Hannah from her father, and Robert's uncertainty about staying married to her once the danger is resolved, she makes a heartbreaking decision. Believing she’s a danger to Hannah, Grace sacrifices her own happiness and calls her father to take her back. This was another great installment in the Good Knight Society series. I’m eagerly looking forward to reading more stories in this series!
Lila Fox has done it again!! She has written another book that from start to finish I couldn't put it down. I loved how this broken woman Grace who would startle at little things and try to hide was brought into a new household that was full of love, and the feeling of family even if Robert worked in a job that saw so much ugliness. I loved how Grace became who she wanted to be and blossomed as a woman and Robert protected her in the end and dealt with her demons that haunted her and gave her so much more to live for.
What a great read. Grace has known nothing but abuse from her father, a man who should love and care for her. Robert is looking for a Nanny for his 3 year old daughter. When Grace is recommended to Robert, he hires her. She's happy to get away from her father but intimidated by Robert. Now begins Grace's journey in healing.
This is book 2 of the Good Knight Society series by Lila Fox. This is a great quick read that is filled with drama, compassion, lies, and romance. Grace is abused by her father and has no freedom at all. Robert needs a Nanny for his daughter and hires Grace to be her Nanny. What will Grace do when she gets away from her abusive father?
Grace hasn't had an easy life under her fathers comand, and when she's hired by Robert to become a nanny she finds a freedom and love, but threats from her father draw her back, but Robert wont let her be gone for long. Well written engaging steamy, desires, drama and more!
Another entry in the Good Knight Society series. A innocent young woman who has been emotionally and physically abused (off page) finds freedom working as a live in nanny. Lots of action and growth on the part of the female lead, and don’t forget the heat!
Wow this book was hard to put down. It was well written with a great captivating story line and wanting you to know what happened next. Highly enjoyed
