Diego Leoni is used to getting what he wants. He’s one of the best capos the outfit has to offer. Anyone who betrays the outfit, he kills. His first wife knows about that.

Belle Johnson is alone in the city, trying to prove her independence. Blinded in an accident as a child, she can’t rely on anyone. Now, abandoned in a nightclub by her friends, she has to call for help. And Diego answers, being the sweet, kind man, who helps her home.

Diego knows he can’t keep Belle forever. She doesn’t know who he really is, and there’s no way to tell her that the person she’s having sex with is also part of the mafia. Violence is in his blood, and yet, when he’s with Belle, the darkness fades away, leaving just the two of them.

The only problem is, he’s already engaged to another woman, one whom he doesn’t want. But he can’t let Belle go. The only solution is to get Belle pregnant and keep her in his world—without ever letting her know exactly who he is.

But secrets don’t stay hidden forever…

Excerpt:

All so she could have a chance encounter with Diego.

This was crazy.

She had never been the kind of woman to put herself in danger in the hope of seeing someone else.

“What can I get you?” a guy asked.

“Erm, are you the barman?”

“Yes, sweetheart.”

“Excellent. Can I just get a bottled water? The cap still on? Thank you.”

“Sweetheart, you’re in a bar.”

“I know. I just. Look, my friend is on the dance floor, and I can’t see. Please, can I just have some water?”

She always tried to make sure she never showed how nervous or vulnerable she was, but this was so fucking hard. She wanted to cry, but she kept those tears locked inside.

The barman didn’t put her drink in front of her.

He didn’t come back and speak to her.

Melanie didn’t return, and the bar was only getting busier, more frantic.

Closing her eyes, Belle tried to focus. She could make it out of here.

She had just gotten to her feet when someone pushed her hard. She landed on the floor as someone stood on her hand.

She cried out, but in the next second, she was lifted up. The cologne, she recognized instantly.

“Diego?”

“I take it your friend has left you again?” he asked.

The noise of the club faded, and they weren’t on the street.

“Where are you taking me?” she asked.

“To my office where you’ll be safe and not trampled to death. You didn’t even arrange a private booth.”

“Surprise. Tonight wasn’t exactly planned.”

“I expected more from you.”

She tripped over her own heels again, and she heard him curse. In the next second, she let out a gasp as he lifted her up.

“Man, you’re so strong.” He carried her somewhere. She heard a door open and close, and then she was placed on a hard surface. His desk? “Look, I can take care of myself.”

“You can?”

“Yes.”

“Oh, please. One shove and you were on your ass.”

“Technically, I was on my hands and knees.”

“And you think that’s any better?”

“Well, no, but, oh, please, stop doing this. Stop making this harder than it’s meant to be.”

“I should call your father.”

“Oh, my, you’re not my brother or my keeper.”

“I’m doing a better fucking job of it than your best friend.”

This made Belle pause. “Job? Are you, like, working for my father? Do you even own this nightclub? Has my father hired you to keep an eye on me?”

She wouldn’t put it past him. He always did things like this behind her back. She knew for a fact he was paying Melanie to keep an eye on her, not that her friend was doing a good job of it. Other than when Melanie needed money, she rarely saw her friend. Most of the time, she was gone, doing her own thing.

“I’m not working for your father. This is my club, and I wouldn’t lie to you.”

“How did you know I was here?” she asked.

“I saw you enter on my security cameras. I watched your friend leave you by the bar. Just so you know, she already found someone and they left together. You need to stop hanging around with her.”

Tears filled her eyes, and she heard him curse again.

“I’m sorry. I’m not usually this emotional. I’m not usually this stupid. She promised she wouldn’t leave me again.”

Diego cupped her face. “Fuck, baby, please, do not cry.”

“I can’t seem to stop.”

“I can’t handle it when you cry.”

She sniffled. “I’m trying to stop.”

He didn’t let her go, and she felt his breath across her face. It was so close.

“Diego?”

Just as she finished saying his name, he slammed his lips down on hers, silencing any more sound from her. This was her first real kiss.

Long and Short Reviews

A Blind Woman and an Alpha Capo. Belle and Diego. This was an unlikely couple. Belle is blind but loves being independent. Nevertheless, when it came to her friends it was different. Being blind means she would need help walking in places she is not familiar with. When friends ask to go to a club that she is not familiar with she said yes. That club is where she met Diego. Belle is sweet and giving. The opposite of Diego who is an alpha to the core, until it came to his marriage it seems. He was a big bad mafia capo until it came to the heroine. What made me read this twice was because their talks were normal. Really normal. With little chemistry. I think it was curiosity that made him stop and talk to her. Their relationship developed slowly over time and I loved reading that. However, it was annoying me a lot when he kept lying and lying. I kept waiting for him to break the engagement from the other woman. His Secret Sin was exactly what it said. Belle was his secret until she was not. That brought hell into their world. This story is about a relationship between a crime boss/capo and a regular woman, and it’s enjoyable since their relationship went through highs and lows. At the end, they come out better than before. The book is a good read for those who want something a bit different.

OK
Written by Neringa on 2nd Jun 2019

Well,... I'm not sure about this one. I think the story itself was fine, but it was hard for me to enjoy it because... Well, I didn't liked Belle. She was too naive and a pushover for my liking. Of course, theres nothing wrong to see better side in people, but you still need to use common sense and be careful. Belle sometimes was too trusting and made me to wonder, how she survived for so long? And the way she was with her 'friend' Melanie... Is she was that desperate for friendpish? Or she was plain stupid? Because it was obvious, that Melanie was just using her, because no friend will act like that. I just wanted to slap some sense into Belle. I'm not sure about Diego. He had good 'points' but sometimes he was annoying d¡<k. Lol. But that's the capo in him, I guess. I liked how he was this badass, but turned into marshmallow around Belle. I liked Diego and his not-friend, Richard, dynamics. It was fun to watch them together.

His Secret Sin

I love Diego & Belle. This was a bit of an odd romance, to me, but it was awesome nonetheless. Belle was stronger that she was given credit for. Sam Crescent writes the most amazing books.

So good
Written by Michele Delrey on 20th May 2019

Belle and Diego were so good together. Diego is such an alpha and then you have Belle who is so vulnerable in many ways. This story was written so well, the chemistry was hot. I really enjoyed their journey through this book.

Surprisingly Outstanding Read
Written by Quamey_T on 20th May 2019

I was completely caught off guard with how remarkable this author has turned out to be. I wasn't expecting much about it's time I got to the 2nd chapter I was flabbergasted. I shed a few tears, I laugh, I was totally Paris at the supposedly best friend Melanie. Over all an amazing read.

Love is blind
Written by Sydney M. Neblett on 20th May 2019

Oh my! That statement could never be more true, although in this case I think love means the blind can see. The author brought us a love that is meant to stand the test of time, and the mafia. One that you can’t wait to read the HEA, but you morn the end of the book. I think you are going to love this book! I can’t wait to read what’s next from this author.

Intense
Written by Reese on 20th May 2019

This was a intense story. The guy was a real jerk but then his lifestyle kind of dictated his attitude in my opinion. He needed her to soften him up. Her disability didn’t not hijack the story and become the main subject. I liked that it wasn’t her it was something a part of her. There is violence and at times I felt for her because having a disability doesn’t help your perspective in that type of environment

Mafia love story. Another good Sam Crescent book.
Written by Becca Jean on 20th May 2019

Sam Crescent is always a must buy for me. I love her books about MC and now the mafia. His Secret Sin had killings, "family business" and sex. Diego was capo. He was in charge of the soldiers. He answered to no one but the "Boss". The first chapter gave you a good description of Diego. He wasn't a nice guy. He was ruthless. Then he meets Belle. She was everything he wasn't. He was drawn to her. He never changed who he was. He would always be capo. He was still a ruthless killer that did what needed to be done for the "family". However he wanted her and that much would change. This book is not a fluffy love story. It is a mafia love story. But as always in her books you get no cheating once a couple meets and their HEA. I enjoyed the book. You won't be disappointed.

So darn good
Written by Jane on 15th May 2019

Belle and Diego’s story was fabulous. I found myself thinking about the storyline when I had to take a break from reading (to do chores etc). Two strong characters that have an insta attraction. Lies are told, emotions are strong, some violence, laughter, sarcasm, lust and love. Sexy times too. Hope we get a story on supporting characters.

Love this story
Written by Rhonda on 15th May 2019

Bella is out with a friend at a club when the friend disappears. Being blind, it's not like she can go anywhere so while sitting there, Diego comes to her rescue. He is immediately attracted to her and takes it upon himself to make sure she's safe. She is at his club after all. This book brought out all the feels in me. Sam Crescent is the queen of writing mafia inspired romance where the hero is a dirty talking guy who doesn't take guff from anyone but will become a possessive alpha guy when the woman he loves is involved. I'm trying to watch my language here! LOL Bella does her best to resist him but of course, he wins her over. What will happen when she finds out who he really is and what kind of life he leads? And when Diego is in danger, will his "not friend" , Richard, stay loyal to him? Oh how I loved the banter between Diego and Richard. It was funny while still being serious!! And then there's Charlotte!!! What is her position in this whole story? Well, I strongly suggest you get the book and find out!! Loved the connection between all the characters. Now I just want stories for Richard and Charlotte!!

Written by Christi Amoy on 15th May 2019

With each new release I must say I love Sam's writing more and more. This book had me in my feelings more and more. But it's a book that once I started I couldn't put down. A capo falling in love with a young lady who is blind. He saw her where some only saw her blindness. Another amazing novel.
