Villains, 3

Knox works alone.

As a contract killer, he will do any job for the right price. However, that also means saving people. His current job is to keep a rich man alive, before his current wife kills him. Thankfully, his beautiful PA, Ava Martin, is happy to help him.

Three years ago, Ava found herself at the mercy of a serial murdering rapist. She would have been his next victim, until Knox saved her. She witnessed him kill a man, but she didn’t care. Knox would keep her alive, so long as she agreed to work for him. That day, Ava fell in love, and she’d been falling for this man ever since.

As for Knox, he couldn’t live without Ava. She had taken his empty world, and filled it with so much more.
But, he would not cross that line. Ava worked for him. That didn’t mean he wasn’t tempted.

Until, one day, he gave into temptation and finally claimed her virginity. He cannot stay away from Ava. He craves her. But, his greed will come at a price. Will he be willing to pay it to see his woman again?

Excerpt:

“You’re up,” Knox said.

Of course, she should have known she couldn’t move around this house without him knowing.

“Ice cream,” she said.

“Couldn’t sleep?”

She shook her head.

Why did this man have to torture her even more right now? He was … naked. Okay, so he wore a pair of sweatpants, but he didn’t have on a damn shirt. Those pants didn’t even look big enough to properly cover him. How had her life gotten to this? When had sweatpants become so sexy?

Knox moved in close, and he got his own spoon. He was close now, and as she inhaled, she enjoyed his musky scent. She tried not to think about just how good he smelled.

Ava took a large scoop of ice cream, hoping to distract herself with the cold. He was so close, their arms almost touching, and she looked down at his heavily inked arm.

What would it be like to be able to touch him without abandon? To kiss him without fear of consequences? She thought of all the romance movies she watched where the couples just gravitated toward one another. It looked so damn easy. There was no way she was going to ruin this. She took a slight step to the side, hoping to create a little space. It didn’t feel good, and it also didn’t last. Knox was close within a second.

Was she losing her mind? Ava didn’t know what to do or think.

“Why are you awake?” she asked, trying to distract herself.

“Couldn’t sleep.”

She wanted to know why. “Bad dreams?”

“No.”

She licked her lips and glanced toward him as Knox looked at her. Was he looking at her lips? Did he want to kiss her? What was going on in that head of his?

She nibbled her bottom lip, while trying to figure out what to do next. Nothing was coming. Her stomach kept twisting. Why was it so easy for some people?

“Why are you up?”

Ava didn’t know what was happening, and then he suddenly stepped behind her. Both of his hands going either side of her, trapping her between the counter and his body. Did he put his lips at her neck?

“You know, I couldn’t stop thinking about how good you felt on the mat today,” he said. “Is it wrong, Ava, that I want to fuck you?” he asked.

This made her gasp, and she quickly spun around. She didn’t know what she was going to say, but right now, staring up into his blue eyes, and with his body so close, this was the opening she had been waiting for.

Slapping him was not what she wanted to do. Instead, she threw her arms around his neck, pressing their bodies together, then she took the leap of faith she had been wanting to take for some time, and kissed him. Ava had never willingly kissed another man. This was, as far as she was concerned, her first real kiss.

At first, Knox didn’t touch her. His hands stayed on the counter as Ava kissed him with a passion she didn’t even realize she possessed. She moaned his name, pressing her body against his, and then Knox touched her. One hand banded around her waist and the other cupped her face.

He finally touched her, and his hands, although rough, felt gentle on her body. She didn’t want him to stop, and he took over the kiss. He pressed her against the counter, and she felt the hard ridge of his cock as he rocked against her core.

This is what passion was all about. The movies had it so wrong. They didn’t know how to portray this feeling. It was much better than chocolate. Was it possible for sex to be much better than chocolate? Ava didn’t want it to stop.

Ava and Knox
Written by LBing on 21st Dec 2025

This was a unique and entertaining read that showcases the relationship between a hitman and his PA as it evolved over the years. Ava was rescued by Knox from a serial k!ller and that started her on the path to all the feels for him. He knew she was beautiful and loved how she kept his life organized but didn't look deeper than that. When he takes in Marshall, a client that has a hit out on him, this fast tracks them from hiding behind their walls to so much more. Marshall saw the chemistry between them and poked at both of them until they finally caved and acted on those feelings ;) I loved the humour of Marshall's character and how this plot unfolded with danger all around. Definitely a page turner with heat and I really enjoyed it :D

Very Sweet and enchanting!
Written by Jes7s7 on 21st Dec 2025

Really was not expecting such a sweet read. Ava and Knox were endearing as a couple dancing around their love, but Marshall made this a great read. The romance between Ava and Knox took its time to heat up after working together for 3 years but heat up it did. I truly with Marshall could find that love in another book and we all could share in it as he turned out to be a good guy as well. Great read highly recommend!

A good read
Written by Reader62 on 21st Dec 2025

A romance between a hired killer and a woman he saved from a dangerous situation. She now works for him and they are dealing with Michael, the man Knox was hired to kill. An unlikely friendship, but certainly a definite relationship eventually becomes something neither Knox nor Ava no longer ignore. A bit of humour lightens the tension

Ava & Knox
Written by ObsessiveReader on 21st Dec 2025

I enjoyed Ava and Knox's story. Knox isn't a good guy, but he once saved Ava and now she works for him. They have secretly wanted each other all this time but have not acted on it. Once Knox does, things will never go back to the way they were. Knox is a contract killer so of course there is a little action in the story.

Short sweet and totally enjoyable
Written by KathrynE on 21st Dec 2025

Sam always writes books I love, the writing is always top notch and the plot is on pointe. Knox is a hitman. Sometimes he kill people sometimes he saves them like Ava his ever faithful PA that he saved in a mission to kill a serial killer & Rapist. He found more than he bargained for that night, he found Ava tied to a human dart board and she'd already been struck several times. So he rescued her. Ava having been an abused foster child fell for Knox after he saved her and fell harder everyday after. They lived together and currently had a houseguest Marshal staying with them whose wife tried to hire Knox to assassinate him but Knox instead rescued him and they were trying to bring his ex wife down. Ava didn't like people but she begrudgingly likes marshal and so does Knox's. She the issues with his wife are sorted he leaves as there friend. But when Knox finally makes moves on Ava someone breaches there security so he takes her to Marshals while he solves th problem. Marshal and Ava bond and he tries to encourage her to tell Knox how he feels. So when Knox comes back and she does exactly that they finally enter a relationship but then Ava's kidnapped and Knox and marshal have to get her back. Will they save her in time, will they get rid of marshal or are they stuck with him for good? (Yeah they are) I love the characters in this marshal is possibly my fave he wants someone to love him but also needs someone to look after him he's abit useless but so lovable so instead he creates a family with Knox and Ava Ava is a resilient woman she's a dark soul who loves colour and sees the light even in people who do bad things IE Knox Knox is a hitman who has a heart he has a code he will only hurt bad people and try's to save people when he can. Fantastically written some seriousness, some spice and some comedy

Knox's Woman by Sam Crescent
Written by LyndsayL on 21st Dec 2025

Sam has outdone herself once again. This had me hooked from the very first page. Be prepared to not want to put this book down. Nothing better than having that Alpha man who finds that one woman that is meant just for him. Makes him lower his walls and let her in and he becomes a big softie just for her. The chemistry between this couple makes for a really good read. This is a must have!!

This was one awesome read. Love that this one has more funny parts in the story. I sure loved Marshal and he sure was a good friend to Knox and Ava. And the small action that it had it was a good combination with romance, steaming and funny.

perfect
Written by laura.lovesreading on 21st Dec 2025

Who doesn’t love an antihero hero? Knox is exactly that, he rescues but also eliminates. I loved the story, it’s funny in parts, has enough danger and drama to be captivating, the characters are amazing, the plot is engaging and the spice is perfect. Marshall is the perfect side kick! Lovable, a bit clueless and funny.

Creating Their Own Family
Written by Luv2Read17 on 21st Dec 2025

Knox is definitely an Alpha... Though he doesn't have any issues with his job, he is particular about his marks. Having saved Ava one night, she's become his PA. They are both attracted to each other, but neither wants to admit it. As part of Knox's latest job, he's actually befriended a client (that he was supposed to "take care of"- hired by said client's soon-to-be ex-wife). Marshal is definitely a character- he is not only able to bring down Knox's shields but also found a way to work his way into Ava's life, too. This was an interesting read with action, spice, and some light comedy.

Knox and Ava
Written by Chmhowel on 21st Dec 2025

This is book three in this series which I’ve enjoyed reading. In this book, Knox meets Ava and to protect her she works for him. She loves him but he doesn’t want to cross the line. Finally Knox does and it is amazing. Then more drama happens and Knox does everything to protect Ava. Great book and a quick read!

Knox’s Woman
Written by Redfaeryrose on 21st Dec 2025

There wasn't much that really made the relationship between our main characters stand out. They were a bit quirky, but they got each other. What’s pretty funny is how Martin, the sidekick, helps break the tension between them. He was kind of the odd one out, looking a bit lost sometimes, but he was also a true friend—someone they both really trusted and considered as family.

Knox and Ava
Written by Bobcat on 21st Dec 2025

Knox's Woman is the 3rd story in the Villains series. Knox is a hitman. Ava is his personal assistant. They have developed a devoted friendship over the past three years. When danger comes calling, the two of them start admitting to their true feelings. Throw in the dizzy antics of a mutual friend, and you have a happy romance despite any darkness. Loved the characters and epilogue.

Exciting Read The chemistry and sizzle between them in felt throughout the storyline as they dance around each other not admitting their feelings until suddenly it’s too late, their close connection has changed and out of control. The book is exciting with an unexpected hero who is a killer and a killer story you won’t want to put down with a secondary character you will fall in love with. Loved it!

Spicy Romantic Suspense
Written by Michelle E on 21st Dec 2025

Knox is the strong, hardened alpha guy who has been avoiding acting on his feelings for Ava. He is tasked with working for her boss, and Ava and Knox struggle to keep their attraction at bay. When it finally happens, he is a golden retriever for her and falls hard. Overall, a well written spicy romantic suspense.

Don't touch Ava
Written by Bookbunny on 21st Dec 2025

Ava is Knox’s PA. No one touches her. Anyone that ever hurt her pays dearly. Having to safe house Marshall is a big pain. But he is harmless. Ava is grateful for all that Knox has done for her. She knows what he does for a living and that doesn’t scare her. Having Marshall around is starting to drive her crazy though. When Marshall tells Knox that he can feel the tension between him and Ava, things start to unravel. Things seems to be moving in the right direction for these two but you have Marshall in the mix. You have to admit, it is a bit funny. He is so needy. When someone grabs Ava, things move fast. I thought it was a fun story. Nothing really bad. Just a relaxing pace.

What a wild ride!
Written by Shelly44 on 21st Dec 2025

What a wild ride! So good! I have read the other novels in this series and enjoyed them. This novel did not disappoint. From the first chapter this novel sucked me in and held on tight. I loved Ava and Knox’s story. I loved their chemistry. I loved watching them both lower their walls and defenses and realize their attraction to each other. So good! Once I started reading I had a hard time putting this novel down. So good! I can hardly wait to see what this author has coming next. Such a wild ride! Loved it!

This book I've already read twice. It's quick and good. If two people belonged together it's Ava and Knox, two nonconventional thinking people that are perfect. Throw in Marshal, you've got a good book.

Dark(ish),, cute and surprisingly funny
Written by Kris08 on 21st Dec 2025

Ava and Knox… What you get: Age gap BBW Spice Dark(ish) romance Virgin heroine / Dominant hero Morally grey hero So, this particular story was interesting…. It’s dark(ish), and Knox is definitely on the darker side of morally grey. Ava is naive, but with a traumatic past, she is certainly not innocent in terms of life experience. I had moments where I just wanted to laugh. Marshall is absolutely amazing, and awesomely hopeless, and he added some much-needed levity. Knox’s reaction to her virginity cracked me up, and the fact that Ava thought ‘it wasn’t important’ was hilarious. Between multiple hitmen, bounty hunters, and a clueless client with a psychotic ex-wife, there was always somthing happening. For a darker story, this is just so cute!

Good story
Written by RhondaVB on 21st Dec 2025

Another wonderful story from Sam Crescent. Knox and Ava live together as she is his PA and he saved her several years ago. I enjoyed the banter between them and watching the relationship develop. When danger comes calling, Knox will do whatever it takes to keep her safe!
