Hell's Bastards MC, 3

The club is her life.

For Raven, the Hell’s Bastards MC is her world. From the moment she meets Smokey, she's able to build a life for herself. Being the only female member in an all-male club, she's earned her patch and proved she has their backs.

Now her place is in danger. Smokey is cleaning shop because of Ava. Raven watched each of the club whores leave—she's next.

Carlos Santiago wants Raven and will do anything to get her. When his life is put in danger, he sees an opportunity. It's Raven's job to protect him, so for the interest of the club, she'll have to do whatever it takes to protect him.

Carlos will make Raven fall for him. He’ll make her forget the club, forget it all. The only problem is Raven isn't all she seems. She has a past, one none of them ever anticipated.

When the truth comes out, it will be up to Carlos and Smokey to bring her back, to stop her from falling. Will they be able to save her, or will the demons of her past finally destroy her?

Excerpt:

“What the fuck is this?” Raven asked.

“It’s an engagement ring.”

“I didn’t agree to this.”

“You agreed to being my future wife, Raven. There is no other way of having you by my side without people being curious. If you were a random fuck, they wouldn’t believe our ruse. That ring was necessary.”

Raven growled. “Fine, but this is the last surprise you give me, okay? From now on, you tell me every single little detail.”

“I might also have to tell you that we need to share a bed.”

“What?”

“It was just a tiny detail, and seeing as I shared your bed back in Fort Clover, I didn’t think it would be an issue.”

“That was the guest bedroom, and it wasn’t like I invited you into my bed.”

“With all the screaming you gave, it was a given.”

“I don’t like you right now.”

“I don’t mind,” Carlos said. “Doesn’t change the fact that you’re going to have to share a bed with me, and you need to keep your attitude in check.”

Raven took a deep breath. “Not when we’re alone.”

Carlos folded his arms. “What are you angry about?”

“A lot of things. I don’t like being kept in the dark, and I don’t like not having a choice. This is all bullshit, and what’s more, Carlos, you know it.” Raven pointed a finger at him.

With the heels on, she stared into his eyes.

Carlos looked at her, and he was fucking delighted this had worked. Smokey didn’t realize how much he fucking treasured this woman. She was a prize to behold.

“I want you to kiss me,” Carlos said.

Raven jerked back. “What?”

“Do I need to repeat myself?”

“I have no reason to kiss you.”

“You don’t want to kiss me?”

“No, I don’t.” Raven turned away from him.

“The time is going to come when you’re going to have to kiss me. In front of people. It will be expected.”

Raven stepped toward him and leaned in close. Carlos was a little surprised at how quickly she had changed. Her lips were near, and all it would take was a breath to capture them.

“And until then, we don’t have to kiss.” She tapped him on the chest and went to walk away.

Carlos grabbed her hand, and within seconds, he had her pressed up against the wall. “And do you think you can handle me?”

“What are you doing?” she asked.

“Are you afraid of a little kiss?”

She laughed. “Carlos Santiago, I am not afraid of anything.”

He stared at her full lips. “You’re lying.”

“I don’t lie.”

“Then kiss me. Prove that you’re not … scared.”

She glared, grabbing his wrists as if to push him away, but he wouldn’t budge. He wasn’t going to let her hide. Not from him.

When she tried to knee him in the balls, he dodged her leg. Grabbing her hands, he pinned them to either side of her head. “Is it so hard to kiss me?” he asked.

“Are you that desperate you’d trap a woman and force her to kiss you?” she asked.

Carlos chuckled and then let her go. “You’ll kiss me, Raven, and when you do, you’re going to be begging for me to do so much more to you. But while you’re afraid, I’ll give you the space you need.”

This time, he was about to walk away.

Raven grabbed his arm, spun him around, gripped the back of his neck, and pulled him down for a kiss. At first, she was proving a point. Carlos wrapped his arms around her back, sliding his hand up to cup the back of her head, kissing her.

He had her right where he wanted her, and as he traced his tongue across her full bottom lip, she gave him exactly what he craved. She opened for him, and he plundered her mouth.

Unable to resist this moment, he slid his hand down, gripping the curves of her full ass. From the moment he first saw her, he’d been wanting to get his hands on her body. To touch her, to taste her. He’d been patient, and now, he was finally reaping the rewards of that patience.

Pressing her against the wall, he thrust his pelvis against her, allowing her time to feel what she did to him. He was on fire, burning with the need to have her.

Raven pulled away first, bringing their scorching kiss to an end.

“That shouldn’t have ever happened,” she said.

“Tell me your pussy isn’t warm for me right now.”

She pressed her lips together.

He smiled. “You can keep lying to yourself, Raven, but it is all bullshit.” He kissed the tip of her nose. “I know differently. You want me.”

“I always knew you had a big ego.”

“I know what I’m worth.”

I enjoyed this story as I always do with this author.
Written by Amy H on 16th Apr 2023

I enjoyed this story as I always do with this author. She writes great crime romance, and I like that her books are now longer than some in the past. She always writes about heroines that are plus sized which is how I began reading this author years ago. I look forward to reading more in this series by the author.

I recommend reading books 1 and 2 before this one to truly understand the story and the emotions me and the rest of the readers felt as we read this perfect addition to the series. It was interesting and I wasn't able to put the book down as the story blossomed into the narration. Would recommend this series to others.

Excellent!
Written by Flavia Karina on 13th Sep 2022

This is a fantastic series. Although the books can be read as standalone, the two previous books are much more enjoyable to read, they give us a prelude to Raven's story and help us understand her role in the MC and her relationship with the other characters. Carlos was definitely a surprise, and there is much more to Raven than meets the eye at first. She is sexy, daring, violent, hot, with a lot of angst and memorable moments. It is an excellent continuation of the series.

Raven spreads her wings and finds her nest
Written by LFBooks on 13th Sep 2022

Raven is the third book in the Hell's Bastards MC series and is the story of Raven and Carlos. I had read the first book in this series, Ugly Beast, before so I had an understanding of the MC and some of the members. As I had not read Smokey prior I did feel like I missed some things in the story, some depth and the characters. But it was still a good read with a story line that is different from a lot of other MC stories. The story is intense, interesting, has great characters and a lot of drama and angst, with a few twists you don't see coming. This was a really engaging story and an easy read.

Wow, triggers galore!
Written by Kurtins-R on 13th Sep 2022

This book showed a whole different side to Raven and seeing her guilt and pain was heartbreaking. I was so angry at Smokey and Carlos for what they did to her. I was glad to see Raven get a HEA. This series is really good and hard to put down but the characters are infuriating. There is so much I want to say about this book. Raven and her story hurt my soul for the pain and secrets she carried. My heart broke when nobody realized just how important every person and the club was to Raven. But I was completely shattered when nobody could see the guilt she carried herself without anyone laying blame at her feet. Raven doesn't believe she deserves to live. She's under the impression everyone she loves gets hurt and it's all because of who she is that she can't save them.

MC and the Mafia
Written by BLT on 13th Sep 2022

WOW! This is the first book that I’ve read in this series and I’m going to go read the first two books. Raven is the only female patched member in the MC. Raven is severely beaten up and is saved by Carlos Santiago, who is the head of the Mafia. Carlos becomes obsessed with Raven and is determined to have her in his life. This is an action packed read with lots of drama and trauma that will have you on an emotional roller coaster ride. This book was impossible for me to put down.

Raven
Written by Masey K on 13th Sep 2022

I was waiting for Raven book Since I finished Smokey. While I can see Raven felt guilty and blame herself for what happened to Ava, I want to see what actually she felt since start and I regret wanting it later because I couldn't handle how much Raven was hurting. She has so much hurt, secrets, pain and guilt within her that I wanted to hug her. I love how all the ladies Ava, Harlow and Abrianna stood up. Carlos, Man I wanted to hit him sometimes and even smokey. I understand he wanted raven in his life but his actions want to smack him hard. The groveling is top notch and I think that's one of the best thing in Sam crescent books that ladies doesn't give in easily and make men grovel for the mistakes they did. If you hated Raven in smokey book you really need to pick this book right away because you will see how amazing and beautiful raven is as a person.

Raven feels guilty about following an order, and punishing Ava. Ava has forgiven her, but Raven has not been able to forgive herself. Carlos has to marry, and produce an heir. He cannot get Raven out of his mind. He was concerned because she lost weight, and did not look well. Carols begins to spend tome with Raven. There is sexual tension between them. Raven pretends to be Carlos' girlfriend, to protect him from his enemy. Smokey, and Carlos have a plan for Raven to leave the club. Will this plan ruin their relationship? Will Raven agree to this plan? I enjoyed reading this book. The storyline flowed well. The characters were well developed, and likeable. This story has violence, human trafficking, and steamy scenes. You need to read this book!

She harbors guilt over her treatment of Raven when the MC thought she went against them and now Smokey is cleaning house. Raven is weary her days are numbered and Carlos who has a thing for Raven makes a bargain with Smokey bringing his plans to have Raven to fruition. Written by Ash J on 13th Sep 2022

This was an awesome read that had be glued to the pages from the very beginning. I loved Raven and how tough and self-sufficient she was. Carlos did get on my nerves a little with all the secrecy and manipulation he used but I could tell he really did care for Raven, just went about it wrong. I can't wait to read the previous books in this series because I absolutely loved this book and all the side characters.

Written by Maleficent on 13th Sep 2022

Raven has made mistakes and has to learn to forgive herself for the choices she made. This books shows there more to the character then you have seen in previous books. After Carlos rescued her, he had become obsessed with her. He makes a deal with Smokey to take her away. Raven is shattered when finds what Smokey and Carlos have done. When they realize how far she has spiraled they will need to work together to save her. The three books in the Hell's Bastards MC should be read in order to fully enjoy this book.

Raven
Written by Loubie73 on 13th Sep 2022

Seriously loved this book. Not going to lie, my heart broke for Raven a few times and wanted to slap both Carlos and Smokey a few times, especially Smokey because of the history they have. If you want a fluffy romance with a bit of mc/ mafia then this book and whole series is not for you. This book is dark at times but definitely gritty and doesn’t hold any punches. Raven has been put through hell since her early teenage years and has no feeling of self worth. It takes an awful lot for her happy ending to appear but bloody hell if any imaginary character deserved it then it has to be her. Carlos might be a leader but he very nearly destroyed what he wants the most through male ignorance and sheer stupidity! This book made me sad, nearly made me cry and feel practically every other emotion but it’s so worth reading. A brilliant and emotional read, can’t wait for the next book.

Written by Sarah-Jade on 13th Sep 2022

I know Raven got a bad wrap in the "Smokey" book for what she did but I knew her own story was going to be amazing and it did not disappoint! So raw and real and amazing to get her back story and see the hot fire of chemistry between her and Carlos. Cannot wait for future books in this series :)

Intense
Written by Ade K on 13th Sep 2022

This is a book about redemption-the long road to self discovery, self love and freedom. It should have added a trigger alert-child abuse, self harm, suicide. The author did warn (on her platforms) that it was intense but I was not prepared. There were so many times I was wiping my face (the tissue box was too far off) because it was just too emotional. It was just too raw, almost painful to read but it was an absolute page turner. The suspense, plot and character development were done just right. There was no giveaway because the book was written to have you hooked from the first page. The evolution of the main character is something that will stay with you for a bit (at least until you move on to another character/book) which I believe is the author’s intention. I didn’t want it to end. I’m so happy the heroine got her HEA.

Written by Wendy Livingstone on 13th Sep 2022

This is the 3rd book in this incredible series, and Raven is the only female patched member in a male dominated world, and she worked hard to earn her patch. Carlos is head of the mafia, and when he rescues her, he is obsessed with her, and will do whatever he must to keep her. This is a well written story which has combustible chemistry, and is action packed with suspense, danger, intrigue, secrets, emotions, loyalty, tension, plot twists, trauma, truths, and love, which leads to a steamy page turner. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Raven spreading her wings
Written by Vibekke on 13th Sep 2022

This is the third book in the series. It is filled to the rim with big emotions and second chances. There is angst and self loathing, love and obsession and tears. I seldom cry over a story but this made me cry. The prez Smokie is cleaning house to clean his guilty conscience because what he made his woman live through in the last book. Raven is also guilt stricken for her part in it. That is not her only shadow, she is struggling and her fix point is the club, her family. She tries to avoid Ava to spare her from the memories but Ava just wants to get close to Raven. Carlo is obsessed with Raven and wants her close, in his life full time. He makes a deal with Smokie behind Ravens back. Nothing can stay hidden for ever and the fallout is explosive.

Raven and Carlos, their story is so very good
Written by Jane H on 13th Sep 2022

I will get straight to the point, I LOVED THIS BOOK. Raven is certainly a complicated woman, and the reader finds out the reasons for this during the course of the book. Carlos, well, he wants Raven, and goes about 'getting' her the wrong way. Lots of emotional times in this book (I cried at least 3 times), Raven's past comes out, she freezes Carlos out (Smokey too, from the previous book), lots of grovelling and then...just read this book to find out how it ends. Suffice to say the epilogue is beautiful.

Written by JennM73 on 13th Sep 2022

I strongly recommend reading the first two books of this series as I’m not sure if you can truly appreciate Raven and everything she struggles with without the context that is from the prior two books. I didn’t really like Raven before, but here my heart ached for her. This book will take you on a wild ride of emotions and as one expects from this author, this book does not disappoint! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Raven’s story
Written by Heather7170 on 13th Sep 2022

Who knew that this book would be so emotional! Raven has one serious past that I was not at all expecting. Smokey and Carlos teaming up together was not expected either. Poor Raven, being caught between the two. Ava get an understanding of Raven’s need to protect and feel like she belongs was so gut wrenching. Who knew Carlos would go to such lengths for Raven!

Raven
Written by Stacii on 13th Sep 2022

This book not only told the story of Carlos and Raven's relationship. It also told the story of how broken Raven was and how she got there. It really expanded on the aftermath of what happened in Smokey. She is slow to trust Carlos but he really shows Raven that he really cares for her but will she be able to move past the hurt when she finds out that Smokey basically gave her away. It was a story of love, betrayal, and forgiveness.

“She was his now. There was no turning back.”
Written by Anij on 13th Sep 2022

Be prepared to cry. That’s the most important thing to know. This book is full of sorrow because that’s where Raven lives now. I expected it to be emotional but it was so much more. I felt so sorry for poor Raven. Yes, she did some bad things but not due to malice. She’s not a cruel person. Everything she did was for love and loyalty to her “family”. It broke my heart to see how much she hated herself. Carlos was perfect. He was exactly what she needed and I loved him for it. I’m so happy he saved her, because ultimately that’s what he did. I want to give him a big hug! This is book three in a series and to be honest, you really need to read the other two books first. There’s no way to really understand the people involved and their actions and beliefs in this book if you haven’t read the others. Sam tries to explain but you can’t summarize everything that happened in the other books enough. Trust me. Read Ugly Beast and Smokey first and then come back and read Raven. And cry.

The story focuses mostly on Raven. She's been broken and needs to be healed with love plus she needs to be able to forgive herself. Raven has had a horrible past and it brought tears to my eyes. MC and Mafia Romance
Written by A. Adams on 9th Sep 2022

I like this book because it is a MC and mafia romance book. Raven is in Hell's Bastard's MC Club and only woman with a patch. Then you have the Santiago Mafia Family represented by Carlos. This book is also told in multiple POV's. There is a lot of history between the members of each group. There is a lot I could I could tell you about this book but if you like mafia or mc book you should just read it. You won't be disappointed.

So great!
Written by MrsBrightside15 on 9th Sep 2022

The first few chapters were slow and I felt like my heart was breaking over and over and over again. Raven is just amazing and has been through way too much for one person to have to go through. Carlos is over the top possessive and does everything possible to keep Raven. I still like him since he made it better once he understood everything. Ava was great as usual, so supportive. I knew I still wouldn't like Smokey, but he definitely didn't help himself in this book. Well I guess he may have redeemed himself a super tiny bit. All the action, drama, tears, heartbreak, joy and love made for an amazing book! I hope we see more of Harlow and Hunter.

This is the third story in the "Hell's Bastards MC" series. I would suggest reading these in order. Although it is not completely necessary you would definitely get more out of this one. You also get more back story about the connected characters. This one I have been waiting for; we finally get Raven's story. The story is full of angst, betrayal, danger, suspense, passion, love and family. I loved this one!!!! The story is about Raven and Carlos. He is the head of the mafia and she is the only female member of MC. Her past is tragic. Carlos has wanted her from the minute he first saw her. She is tough but he sees her hurting and struggling so he takes matters into his own hands. He goes about it ALL wrong! I love their story and my heart broke for everything she has been through. Carlos and Smokey manage to heal her and help her recover.

Female MC brother
Written by RahiaLeight on 9th Sep 2022

This one was a first to me, and I loved it! Raven is such an amazing character and totally relatable. I understood her need to put others first, above herself, and receive nothing in return. It was quite a heart wrenching story. I loved every moment of it. No matter Smokey's faults, he's an amazing leader. I love the way that both Smokey and Carlos came together for Raven. A truly fantastic story. I haven't read the first two books, and while I felt like I was missing little bits; there was certainly enough meat in Raven's story to gloss over any holes. The story was not incomplete and I didn't feel like I was missing something vital that kept me in the dark.

Written by Emma B on 9th Sep 2022

The feelings I felt during this book were a rollercoaster. Carlos and Raven’s love story was heartwarming and the way you could see how much he loved her just made the book even better. From the first chapter, I was already immersed into the pretty dark world that Raven was in and as the book progressed, I could feel Raven’s pain, her highs and lows. A great story with the heat in it! Absolutely pick it up!

I really enjoyed this. This is the first book I've read of the series so I was a little lost, but I felt just enough details of the past was given that I had some clue of what was going on. Written by Cindy V on 9th Sep 2022

Raven still has tremendous guilt over torturing Ava when ordered by her club pres Smokey who believed that Ava had betrayed the club. When Smokey starts removing people who were involved, Raven knows that it's only a matter of time before she is removed too. Mafia Man Carlos wants Raven and makes a deal with Smokey that helps Smokey and allows him to hopefully keep Raven forever. Raven has a disturbing past which makes sense why she so strongly feels for Smokey and the club and is reliant on them for her family. She is slow to trust Carlos but he really shows Raven that he really cares for her but will she be able to move past the hurt when she finds out that Smokey basically gave her away? I really enjoyed this story much more than Smokey because that one really was quite brutal and I don't know that I would ever have forgiven him if I was Ava but you do need to read it to understand why Raven is feeling so guilty and lost. We get Raven's back story and can see why Carlos would be so drawn to a brave and damaged soul like Raven's.

Written by Rowena on 9th Sep 2022

My first read of the series and it did not disappoint. Book 3 of Hell’s Bastards MC is the story of Raven the only female member of the MC. I didn’t know what to expect but what I got was unexpectedly good, it was great to follow how Carlos Santiago the head of the mafia falls for Raven and when he gets his way to get her in his life their chemistry explodes and so much more. Their world collide to make for an action packed, high drama and steamy heat level. Ravens unravels when she discover what she thought was for her club was for something else. What happens next was a great addition to the series that doesn’t disappoint. I can’t wait for more of this series!

A heartfelt HEA with violence, romance and betrayal
Written by Sarah ES on 31st Aug 2022

This book was not what I expected!! I thoroughly enjoyed it especially that Raven finally got the happily ever after she deserved!! There was a some triggering parts of the book that would not be recommended for sensitive readers, but overall it was very well done. The world building for both the mafia and MC world we’re done really well and the characters were amazing. The only thing I did not like was the strife that was referred to frequently from previous books. Although Sam Crescent detailed some of it, it would have been very helpful to have read previous books in the series to have an overall better understanding of some of the events that were mentioned!!

My favorite out of the series
Written by Prissy M on 31st Aug 2022

I have thought Raven was an interesting character from the first book in this series and was so happy that she was getting her own book. I was not disappointed. However, I was not expecting it to cry like I did. This book went so much deeper than the story of Carlos and Raven's relationship. It told the story of how broken she was and how she got there. It expanded on the aftermath of what happened in Smokey. It was a story of love, betrayal, and forgiveness. It is my favorite out of the series, and there is definitely some set up for more books in this series. While I did receive an advanced copy, all opinions are my own

I am so glad I read the previous books in the series before reading Raven. I don’t think I would have enjoyed it as much as I did I don’t think I would have enjoyed and appreciated the character growth and the changes in Raven. It was heartbreaking and after reading the previous books I was not sure how she would redeem herself but boy was I wrong. My heart broke for Raven. The story was captivating and beautifully written. It was heartbreaking but Sam did a fabulous job for make our heart break for Raven . If you have read the first two books than read it you will enjoy it and for those who haven’t read it I would highly recommend you read the previous books before reading this one.

Written by Kathyjacks78 on 28th Aug 2022

After what Raven did in Smokey’s book to Ava I really hated her. I didn’t think there was any redemption for her but I was so wrong. This book showed a whole different side to Raven and seeing her guilt and pain was heartbreaking. I was so angry at Smokey and Carlos for what they did to her. I was glad to see Raven get a HEA. This series is really good and hard to put down but the characters are infuriating. Not sure if that’s what the author intended but these men do some things that are hard to forgive. I am waiting for so many stories in their series! I can’t wait to see where it goes and which characters get matched up together.

Written by Laura S. on 28th Aug 2022

I have to say that Smokey is my fav out of all of Sam Crescent's books, and Raven is right there with it! Great characters, excellent continuation of previous events from Ugly Beast and Smokey, and characters that start to pull you in and feel their emotions and thoughts. The gang is growing on me! I am looking forward to the next book in this series! Who will it be? I can't wait to find out!

I didn't realize this was the 3rd book in a series. But! I feel like I was able to catch up on what events happened prior to this book because the author did an amazing job with details. Everything was very well written and the push and pull of Raven and Carlos kept me soooo intrigued. This book is defiantly worth reading the first two! A great MC series.

Oh I loved this book! It was so incredible good one of my favorite books by Sam! We get to learn how Raven ticks why she is the way she is. We got to see her go through some very hard and sad things. She had so much guilt built up in her it was heartbreaking. I'm not going to go into too much detail about this book because I don't want to spoil it. Just read and guarantee you will love Raven by the end of it.

This is a page tuner. I will warn that it does have some triggering things for people with anxiety depression. I loved Raven what she went through and what she overcame. Carlos was who she needed to make it through. Their love story has a lot of highs and lows but love won out in the end.

Sex. Secrets. Bikers. Mafia.
Written by Barb K on 28th Aug 2022

Raven is the only female in the Hell’s Bastards Motorcycle Club. She has had a very rough childhood. Raven notices the Prez cleaning house by getting rid of the “girls” who hurt his wife. Raven is sure she is next because of her part in it. Carlos is the head boss of the Santiago mafia. He helped Raven when she was beaten and now he wants her for his wife. Carlos and Stormy, Prez of HB Motorcycle Club, come to an agreement. Someone tried to kill Carlos and Stormy sends her to be his bodyguard. He plans on getting her pregnant and marrying her. But when she finds out their plans, she quits the Club and leaves Carlos. Will Carlos earn her forgiveness and have a happily ever after? I’ll be honest, I almost quit reading after the first chapter or so. I had no idea what was going on. But I stuck with it and I’m glad a did. Sex. Secrets. Bikers. Mafia. It would be best to read the ones before this one. Keep some Kleenex’s near because it is a tearjerker. * Voluntarily read and reviewed this for NetGalley *

Thank you NetGalley for the eARC. I got a few pages in and realized I had no idea what was happening so I immediately went back and purchased books 1 and 2. I am so glad I did. This MC is awesome. Raven and Carlos. What can I say except WOW! Two people from totally different ends of the spectrum but somehow they are the same person. No wonder he wanted her so much and vise versa. This story had so many twists and turns ~ I found it thrilling. I could feel their pain. I could smile when they smiled. I could laugh when they laughed and that is the art of a true author. Kudos. If your not down the Hells Bastards MC Then where you ATTTTTTTTT??

Their chemistry is just incredible
Written by Bella T on 28th Aug 2022

Going into this world and book three of this series, I found I was really intrigued by the fact that Raven is the only female MC member who radiates massive big dick energy but also is just a badass through and through. In this book especially you see her growth as a person and as an MC member. I found I liked her even more in her own book because we got to see her for her. Carlos and Raven's love story definitely starts off rocky, and I didn't necessarily like them in the beginning. They both really grow in the span of this book and their chemistry is just incredible. By the end I wanted them to be together and with one another. Definitely a series to jump right into, these MC books are a force to be reckoned with! Thank you NetGalley for providing me with an ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Finally Raven’s story! She is such a bada**, rough and tough and the only female of the Hell’s Bastards MC. Her life is filled with pain, both physical and emotional, that she often lashes out, not knowing how to act. This bravado makes her seem unapproachable and sometimes unlikeable, but she’s like an onion, in the sense that you need to peel back the layers to find her true core. This story picks up right from the end of book two. While you don’t have to have read the previous ones to enjoy this, since the author recaps the highlights nicely, I highly recommend that you do. In her quest of redemption Raven agrees to “protect “ club ally Carlos Santiago, head of the Santiago mafia outfit, not knowing that Carlos has his own agenda. Carlos wants Raven for his own and he always gets what he wants. This is not your typical MC or Mafia romance. Yes there’s action and dark subject matter but both leads are more than just strong characters. their depth, especially Raven’s makes this a much more beautiful journey (even though that sounds corny it’s true). As previously noted there is some dark subjects that are touched upon, so reader beware, but the author handles the subjects beautifully, making you really feel for the characters. I can’t say how much I loved this story, and hope for more soon about the other brothers. Finally Raven’s story! She is such a bada**, rough and tough and the only female of the Hell’s Bastards MC. Another excellent addition to the MC series
Written by memes on 21st Aug 2022

Readers snould be warned that there is some content that may be triggering or upsetting for some to read about. This book is part of a series and you must read the other stories to get the full picture. If you don't read the other stories you will be confused. Raven is the only female member of the MC and Carlos is the head of the mafia. Carlos meets Raven and it's instalust so he makes plans to make her his. Raven is such a loyal and devoted member of the MC and has a heartbreaking past. While reading this stoy I was in tears in several places. The story has some action and violence, but most of all it has deception and heartwrenching scenes. My heart went out for Raven for all she was going through and I was waiting with a sense of dread about what was going to happen when things were all out in the open. I have read the other books in the series and loved getting to know what Raven was all about. This book had steamy scenes between Raven and Carlos. They had some great chemisty together. There are a couple places where there's some humor in the story and boy does this book need humor to lighten up some of the heaviness. I felt like I got to know some of the supporting characters in the series a little better too. This story also had me thinking I didn't like some of the characters I had previously liked, one in particular. I enjoyed this series before, now I'm in love with it after reading this latest story.

Finding someone to trust
Written by Bookbunny on 21st Aug 2022

Carlos is the new mafia head and he had his eye on Raven. He saw what Smokey was doing, cleaning house. How easy it would be to make a deal to take Raven off his hands. Raven’s past is keeping her up at night. She sees the ugliness in herself. She would do anything for family even play bodyguard to Carlos. But Smokey isn’t telling her everything and the club is in an uproar over what he has done. Will Raven forgive him? I have to say, I am not happy with Smokey. What the heck is wrong with him? I get that he wants to make Ava’s life easier but did he talk to Ava about what he was doing. I know club business isn’t for the old ladies but with Ava, she had a right to know from the start. He just was digging himself deeper. And Raven, we are going to finally learn about her past and not only what drives her but the darkness that she hasn’t spoken to anyone about. I fear for her life and her pain. This isn’t as dark as Smokey’s but this one will pull at your heart strings. Carlos isn’t as bad as he seemed in the beginning. He really cares for Raven. When you read about her past, OMG grab a tissue. What a sad and scary life. It will pull at your heart. Plus you also learn how she came to be with the club. The women of club stepped up too. I love Harlow, Ava, and Abrianna. They really love Raven. And what is the deal with Hunter (VP) and Harlow, Big Dicks sister. There is a story there and you know it is coming.

I was not expecting how this book was going. I was engrossed and invested the hole way. Carlos and Raven turn out to be a great couple that I was not expecting. I simply love Sam Crescent's paranormal series! It's also quick and easy to read,. Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for an eARC of this book, in exchange for an honest review.

Raven is book 3 of the Hell’s Bastard MC. I would highly suggest you read the first 2 books of the series before reading this one. You will understand it much better. In this book we finally get Raven’s story. The only female in the MC. Her story was so heartbreaking. I fell in love with Carlos from the beginning. He was such a likable guy, even when he shouldn’t have been. I loved the dynamic of Raven and Carlos together. Smokey really got on my nerves in this book, but he eventually redeemed himself towards the end of the book. Again, I highly suggest reading the other 2 books first before this one, but overall, this was an excellent addition to the series and Sam Crescent did an amazing job with Raven’s story.

It was so good humourous raven being a bad ass but also as further time into the book her sad life story came to light loved how the guys came together to fight for her right to be happy. Raven
Written by mysticbaby1991 on 18th Aug 2022

If you have not read the first two in this series (Ugly Beast and Smokey) I would highly recommend you do that before reading Raven's book. If you just jump right into Raven I don't feel you will get the appropriate feel for how Raven changes between all 3 books and I feel it's important to understand her character. Many readers hated Raven after the events that unfolded in Smokey's story between Raven and Ava. However, I wasn't one that hated her. I felt that she did what was demanded by her Prez and then even redeemed herself in the way she put her life on the line to protect Ava, even with them at odds. As an outsider, away from the situation that everyone was in with Ava, Carlos Santiago is the only one who could see the guilt and pain Raven carried. But not even Carlos knows the weight that Raven has carried around with her, he doesn't know all the scars and nightmares she battles everyday. Nobody understands just how useless Raven believes she is, just how close she is to just ending all her pain because who would miss her? This story. Man I knew it was going to gut me. I knew from the beginning Raven was not all she portrayed herself as. I was so upset that Smokey couldn't see and understand what he gave Raven. I don't think he ever considered that she saw him as so much more than just her Prez. I was glad though to see the club members come together to put Smokey in his place and get his head out of his a$$ and see what he was doing to the one person who has always had their backs and did what was necessary for the club without any questions asked.

An excellent read! Raven’s story was emotional and heartbreaking. Her past and her guilt with the club really drew me in. Raven definitely left her mark with me and I was happy with the way it ended.

Let me just say I love Raven and am so happy to see her finally find love and deal with her past. Raven may at times have been a hit or miss you most in the first 2 books for some, but I personally have always loved her and knew there was some dark ghost in her past. Carlos, at first I hated him for reason you will read for your self, he grew in me tho. I'm happy to finally see some of the brothers finally start to see her and show her the love and respect she deserves and a member/brother to the MC. Another great stroy from Sam!!! Carlos and Raven
Written by Gkp2460 on 18th Aug 2022

Raven is full of heartache and pain. It's a story of survival, love, loyalty and finally acceptance. We met Raven in book 1 of this series and now we get the full extent of all that she's been through. Even though she was acting on Smokeys orders, Raven has a difficult time dealing with the things she's done as well as things from her own past. My heart broke for Raven, yeah I know, there's probably some that won't agree but, getting more insight into her makes understanding her a bit easier. Then there's Carlos, he wants her so bad yet he ends up hurting also. She deserves her hea and I wondered for a little while if Carlos would be the one to give it to her, but when they finally get it together there's no stopping them. The chemistry is out of this world. I do suggest reading Smokey's book first although it's not necessarily required, it will help to better understand Raven and her story.

Just wow...
Written by ObsessiveReader on 18th Aug 2022

Wow! Smokey is cleaning house and getting rid of anyone who hurt Ava when she was believed to be a traitor. Raven knows she is next and it is tearing her apart. The thing is the one that was the most guilty was Smokey. Everyone was acting on his orders and yet they are the ones being pushed out. Really makes you dislike him, especially when he decides the guys could stay since Ava had forgiven them. Unfortunately, Ava and Smokey seem to not be communicating well because Ava forgave Raven when she nearly died for her and the. baby. The more you hear about Raven's past and how she met Smoke just makes you feel even worse for her. Carlos wants her but he goes about it the wrong way and ends up hurting her as much as Smokey.

This story just broke my heart. At first when we met Raven in the previous books you think that we will not be able to get a story that would make her look good. But oh man how wrong we were this for me it was the most heartbreaking story I have read from this series. Raven this girl my heart went out to her for what she went through for all the strength she had and that sweetheart of hers, man you just had to love her so hard and so big. I don’t have much words for how I’m feeling right now with this story I think I said enough the only thing left to say is that it was a great read I’m thinking that it is the best one yet of the Hell’s Bastards MC.

Best One Yet!
Written by DeeTango on 18th Aug 2022

I adore Carlos, and I LOVE Raven, together they are a power couple I didn't know I needed. Raven's backstory is heartbreaking, the trauma she suffered should have broken her, but she came away stronger with a purpose to protect the people she loved, even to her own detriment. Carlos was the one person who could see her, like actually see her. There is conflict, action, and spice. I could have done away with the multiple POVs, I prefer just the 2 MCs, but I can see why the author did this; I am just not personally a fan. Still a 5 star book and the best of the series.

I was not expecting to like Raven, after the events of Smokey's book, she wasn't my favourite character. I soon changed my mind though, and went back to being disappointed with Smokey and angry at Carlos... both playing her the way they were doing to suit their own ends. The whole story came together brilliantly and it was wonderful to see how things finally worked out.

Awesome story
Written by RhondaVB on 18th Aug 2022

We got a really good look at Raven in Smokey's book. I swore then that I would never like her after what happened in that book. Now Sam Crescent has given us her story. Honestly, I didn't think I could be swayed to change my mind but I should have known better. We were warned that Raven's story was very, very troubled and yeah, I had no clue what she had been through in her past! As the story unfolded, my mind changed and Raven, while she won't ever be a "favorite", stole my heart! It was gut wrenching to see what she put herself through in the aftermath of what she did in Smokey's story. And Carlos, I wanted him to take her far away from the club because I didn't want her anywhere around it................that changed also. I loved Carlos and while he wanted her, I don't think he realized just how bad he had it for her. There is still danger and it will take everyone to get through it all. I freaking loved this story. Redemption, love, loyalty, steamy sexy scenes, it's all here and it's all so good!!! If you haven't read Smokey yet, I think it would be a good idea so you know why Raven does the things she does.
