My skin feels too tight across my frame when I wake up. I had the same dream again. A woman in a translucent white dress beckons to me, a siren singing her song and luring me to her. Confusion swirls in my mind as my painful erection begs for attention.
For weeks I have woken up in a state of arousal. The thing that pisses me off is the fact that I don’t even know what the woman in my dreams looks like. It’s like there is a permanent shadow obscuring her face from my view.
I do know that she has a body made for sin. The dress she wears does nothing to hide her from my hungry gaze. Caramel skin, thick thighs, large breasts, and a softly rounded stomach are always visible. Other men might consider my dream siren to be fat, but all I see is a woman built to be fucked. As a black bear shifter, I must be careful when it comes to choosing sexual partners. Even in my human form I am a big motherfucker and could easily hurt someone.
Wrapping my left hand around my engorged erection, I stroke slowly, remembering every moment from my dream. The way she said my name, the sway of her breasts as she walked closer to me, the smell of sunshine and lavender that I couldn’t escape even if I wanted to. I know I am dreaming of my fated mate. I also know that until I find her in my waking life, the woman in my dreams will remain faceless.
Closing my eyes, I allow my imagination to take over.
The flimsy white material drops from her shoulders to pool at her feet, leaving her naked before me. Her nipples are large, a dusky brown color, tempting me to suck on them until they turn dark. I constantly have to fight to keep my beast under control, never allowing him a moment to take over.
Swinging my legs from the California king, I slide a pair of grey sweatpants up my legs, grab a towel, and clean the mess on my stomach before heading through my apartment.
“What?” the word falls from my lips as I open the door, and I instantly regret them. Arina stands on the other side with a massive smile.
She pushes the cup of fragrant coffee against my chest before making her way inside. She is the only person that doesn’t fear me. In fact, she has gone out of her way to make friends with me even though I keep pushing her away.
“We have a new bartender.”
Wow. This was super good! I loved the whole premise. I loved that she was a witch and didn't know it. She knew she had some abilities, but wow. She's definitely surprised to find out the depth of her powers. Korvin was awesome. I love a bear shifter and he was perfect. Big and protective. This was the perfect fated mate story. I wouldn't change a thing.
I enjoyed reading shifting hearts. Korbin had been looking for his mate and thought he would never find her. Until Akasha comes a long. His bear knows she is his. Akasha had been dreaming about a man and when she meets Korbin she knows it’s him. Nice read
This is a short read. This is Akasha and Korvin’s story. She has always wanted to go to New York. She found a job atThe Gin Room and they have apartment for her to live in. What she did not expect to find is the man she has been dreaming about. Why is she dreaming of him? Why did they offer her a job? Korvin does underground fighting at The Gin Room, it helps his bear. What will his bear do when he smells Akasha?
This is the story of Akasha and Korvin, they have great chemistry together and to others he is grumpy and surly but to others but to Akasha he shows his softer side. Their bond and the way Korvin helps her with everything she goes through was great to read.
Monsters in New York will have you turning the pages until the last page has been turned. Korvin is a sexy as all get out bear shifter who hasn’t learn to control his bear, he is a hotheaded, overprotective, sometimes cage fight and works the bar dreams of his mate often. This Book 2 in The Monsters of New York Book Series has a paranormal romance story, a well-constructed world and intriguing characters. These characters have unique personalities, complicated histories, and believable interactions. This story has an isolated Bear Shifter, a Woman that has visions that come true, she must go to New York, a family that does not understand her, fated mate, twists, turns, secrets, patience, bonding, love, and a HEA.
This was a really great book. It was very well written. And Very entertaining. I definitely recommend reading this.
Akasha LaVey has been dreaming of her future, literally. She knows that she needs to go to New York, so she moves, much to her mom’s chagrin. She has had dreams that have happened before. Aldron, the owner of the Gin Room hires her as a bartender and gives her an apartment. Her first friend, lives below her and is Arina. Korvin Slater is a giant of a man and grumpy, as well as a black bear shifter. As soon as he sees Akasha, he knows that she is his fated mate. At 45, he has all but given up on having that. Aldron is also a supernatural, a vampire. He knows that Akasha is a descendant of a powerful witch. However, Akasha knows nothing of the supernatural world as of yet. The book is steamy, scary, romantic, and funny. I love Arina and Akasha. Korvin is just perfect for Akasha. I want to know more about that part of the monsters of New York, because there are loads of questions. lol. I cant’ wait to see what happens next.
After strange dreams have been plaguing Akasha for six months, she decides to head to New York and see if she can figure them out. She was hired to tend bar at The Gin Room online, so when she arrives, everything is new. She quickly befriends Arina and becomes intrigued with Korvin (they all live in the same apartment building, provided by their boss at The Gin Room). Korvin is a shape shifter and is instantly attracted to Akasha. I really enjoyed the pace of this book. The different shifters, vampires, witches, etc- are so intriguing. I can't wait for future books in this series!
This was a first time author for me and will not be the last! The world building was amazing: authentic in feel and engaging. The characters, our main ones and side characters, engrossed me and intrigued me. This book also delivered the steam!!! I can not wait to read more from this author and the series as a whole. There is so much more that Akasha does know about their connection and who she is. What will he do when it is time for her to protect everyone.
This book is perfect if you like a lighter paranormal romance. It’s a shorter read and the plot keeps you interested. The characters are relatable without being over the top in a shifter/ magic world. I really enjoyed this book and would highly recommend if you are looking for a low angst and insta love shifters book. I will definitely be reading more from this author .

Through great plot twists we learn so much more. Danger lurks, betrayal, secrets and spice fill out this great story.

The second story in the Monsters of New York, Akasha Lavey and Korvin Slater an isolated black bear shifter and cage fighter they meet when she moves to New York. Both have been having dreams of the other. I found their story to be well worth reading.
Before anything else, Grumpa made me laugh and still brings a smile whenever I recall his name. Well, he is grumpy so there is that. It is the FMC that tamed his bear and the one that soothes his soul. Kudos to the FMC for finding the quickest way for the MMC to fall for her charms. That was pretty quick.
This second book of this awesome series was quick but had lots super spicy scenes. This is a really great series and I am excited to see where it goes from here.
This story is part of the intriguing "Monsters of New York"; a multi-author paranormal shifter collaboration. The story is fairly short, quick, fast paced and stands alone. This story is about Akasha and Korvin. She keeps having dreams of a man and a bear. She also feels that her dreams are leading her to New York. Korvin, a bear shifter, works at the club The Gin Room. He keeps having a dream of an unknown women, his fated mate. The pull between them is strong and instant. I enjoyed they journey and the crazy along with it. This is a captivating read that sucks you in from the very beginning until the wonderful ending.

This was awesome!!!!! I absolutely loved the cross with shifters and other paranormals!!! I loved the plot of this and the steam was absolutely perfect!!!! Korvin is the perfect grumpy growly bear that’s sweet on his mate!!!??? And Akasha is so badass!!! ???? The writing in this story is fantastic, it’s a super easy read but with lots of plot…and lots of growly sexy times!!! This is the second book in this multi-author series that I’ve read and I’ve loved them both so far, can’t wait for more!

This a great look into the Paranormal World. This uses one of the most powerful witches relative. When her dreams are getting more and more stronger, she makes the choice to move to see if they are important enough to come true. Korvin is a bear shifter and cage fighter, who has also been having dreams of his fated mate. When they meet it is an instant adult feeling, that is hard to ignore. They navigate their feelings and the pressure of the coven and others,that need them to save the city from a dangerous enemy.
I like this book about fresh starts, fated mates and instant attraction. Jade delivers a good story, with great dialogue, plenty of steam and a very entertaining read.

This was a fun addition to the series and I love the authors participating in it. This is a fated mates romance that brings bear shifter, Korvin, and human seer, Akasha, together. These two have been dreaming about each other so the pull between them is strong. Of course, there's drama and danger swirling around, so I rooted hard for these two to get their happy ending. Definitely sweet and spicy and I'm looking forward to diving into the next book :D
I adored this story. Seeing Akasha come into her own with finding out what is real in the world and who she really is. Was amazing. The support Korvin had for her and how she calmed his inner self was great to read. I loved these two together and devoured this story. It was an excellent read.
This was a fun fated-mates shifter romance. Marshall brings in a lot of the classic paranormal elements here: there are vampires, shifters, and witches galore who are somehow hanging out in Brooklyn. I liked both Akasha and Korvin as leads. I loved that Korvin had a hotheaded streak due to his nature as a bear shifter. And Akasha is a human seeking change in her life, so she’s doesn’t know about the paranormal world when Korvin immediately senses she’s his mate. So he has to tread carefully. As a former New Yorker, some things here made me laugh—like getting in a truck (!) to drive “a few blocks” to get somewhere. As any New Yorker knows, you walk for a short trip like that. You’d never move your car from a precious parking space for a few blocks! (And the characters always seemed to be able to park cars right outside of buildings they were going to. Yeah, that happens in New York, like, never.) But I liked the unexpected elements Marshall threw in to Shifting Hearts. There were plot developments that I didn’t anticipate. Korvin and Akasha are fun to read about, and rooting for their romance came easily to me.
This was a quick read with lots of steam. The fated mate bond was strong between these two so there was zero hesitation about completing the bond!
Shifting Hearts is the second book in the Monsters of New York series. It is a very compelling and engaging paranormal-supernatural romance story. The characters are relatable and lovable. With fated mates finding each other, drama, shifter and witchy action, a near hostile takeover, steamy romance, erotic dreams, and more, I could not put the book down.
Man.. This author just keeps getting better and better. Korvin is a Black Bear Shifter and he has not had any training on how to handle his bear and to control him. He has just been doing it by sheer will. Akasha has always had visions of things that come true, and she found she feels very stifled in her small town so she decides to leave and move to a bigger city. She has a good feeling about this move. She gets a job at a bar that is full of shifters of all kinds, and finds herself fitting in and feeling like she belongs there. She is shocked to meet the man that she has been having dreams of. The chemistry between Korvin and Akasha is spicy and they are instantly drawn to one another. Their relationship is so sweet and a joy to read. I can't wait to see what else comes our way with this series.
