Chaos and Carnage, 1

Maddie French is used to being ignored, always told she’d never be good enough. When another date is a no-show, she decides to swear off all men.

After taking over from his father as the prez of the Chaos and Carnage MC, Bull’s priorities have been focused in keeping everyone alive. Now’s the time for him to go after the woman he wants—Maddie.

Only, she doesn’t even realize how badly he wants her. Bull is determined to show her she’s worth everything, and he won’t take no for an answer. Maddie agrees to one date with him, and little by little, he fills her heart, getting beneath her skin.
When an enemy tries to take over his turf, Maddie is attacked. The only thing Bull can do to keep her safe is to push her away, to hurt her in the most painful way.

Bull can try to win her back, but he may have lost the love of his life.

He broke her heart, but she will find it in her power to build herself up?

Excerpt:

Last night had been going so great until Maddie froze on him.

“You know I would never hurt you.”

“I don’t know what this is about.”

“You wanted my kisses last night, Maddie. You were enjoying my touch.”

“Is that what this is about?” she asked. “Because I changed my mind. A woman can do that, you know? She can change her mind.”

“I have no problem about you changing your mind. What I want to know is why.”

“I don’t have to tell you why,” she said.

“No? And you think that’s fair?” he asked.

“Does it matter if it’s fair? I don’t have to give a reason. I…” She closed her eyes and held one hand out. “I’m sorry if I gave you the wrong impression.”

“Bull fucking shit. Don’t try to play me, Maddie. It won’t fucking work. I’m the master at that shit.” He took a step toward her. He was a grown man and could handle a shit load of rejection, not that he’d experienced much of it. Most had come from this woman in front of him, but she had also shown him part of herself. The part that had started out enjoying his touch. “I saw you, Maddie. I felt you. I … I know you were like fire in my arms, ready to go up in flames. I felt it. I know what it was like. I wanted you again, and again. You craved my kisses, you wanted my hands on your body. What the fuck did I do to change it?”

Tears glistened in her eyes, and her lip wobbled.

She shook her head, biting her lip, and he saw how torn up she was. It broke his fucking heart. No woman had ever hit him like this, but damn it, Maddie was proving to be more special than he anticipated, and it was fucking killing him inside.

“Maddie, talk to me.”

She took a deep breath. “You didn’t do anything wrong.”

This made him laugh, and it wasn’t a natural one either. This was very much forced.

“Maddie, I was there, I felt the difference between us. I know something wasn’t right.”

She licked her lips, which she pursed immediately after.

He watched her sigh, and then, she nodded. “I … I’m not like the other women you’ve been with,” she said.

“What the fuck is that supposed to mean? You haven’t spread your legs for every single guy at the club. That isn’t something to be upset about.”

She shook her head. “No, that’s not what I meant.” She unfolded her arms and moved her hands up and down her body. “I don’t look like the women you go for.”

He stared at her and knew instantly what she referred to. She wasn’t slender. She was all curves everywhere.

“So?” he asked.

She looked up to the ceiling, and tears fell down her cheeks. He hated seeing her like this, so cut up, so miserable. This wasn’t what he wanted her to feel.

He took a step toward her, and Maddie took a step back.

Bull stopped. “Did you like my kisses?”

“What does that have to do with it?”

“Just answer the question.” He needed her. Seeing her cry and hearing the slight break in her voice broke him. All he wanted to do was pull her into his arms and tell her how fucking desirable she was. How he ached for her. How he’d waited so long to tell her that he’d wanted her.

For years, he’d been admiring her curves, wanting to get closer to her, but she seemed so far away.

“Yes.”

“Yes, what?”

“Damn it, Bull. You know I liked your kisses. You know I loved having your hands on me. I loved it. It felt incredible, and I didn’t want it to stop, but I don’t want to be a damn pity fuck. I don’t want to be that person. Not again.”

“Not again? You mean this has happened before?”

She released a growl. “Ugh, can’t you just accept that I’m not the kind of woman you want?”

“Hell no. Not when you don’t fucking see what is clearly right under your stubborn nose.”

“I know how this goes. You have your fun. You’ve done your deed to charity and then I’m tossed aside.”

“First of all, I have never in all my life been so insulted, and considering I fucking run Chaos and Carnage, that’s saying something. I would never pity fuck you, Maddie French. In fact, what I want to do is strip you naked, bend you over all the surfaces, and fuck every single part of you. I crave you that much.”

Outstanding

Chaos and Carnage - Size Matters - Sam Crescent This is the first in a brand new MC series, a theme that this author writes so well each and every time. Bull is amazing, definitely a favourite book boyfriend for his love, super sexiness, patience and care he wants to share with the beautiful Maddie. Maddie is constantly viewed by the size of her body not that of her heart or kindness, that is until Bull. She suffers from a lack of body positivity and thinking she is good enough because of the actions of so many from her past. That all changes when Bull comes along. He wants Maddie to see herself as he sees her. Perfect to him. Until a threat comes to Carnage and Bull does the unthinkable, pushes her away by saying words that Bull nor Maddie or you as thr reader ever thought he would utter. It's a total 180 and in the moment I was outraged for Maddie, but once you calm down you know it isn't the real Bull we have seen throughout and there is a reason he is being so vile even though that does not excuse it and I really wish he hadn't done what he did, ge does it all with the hope of keeping her safe. Its a truly heartbreaking moment and the only time I'm deeply disappointed in Bull and wanted to punch him myself. However as the story progresses we learn the reasoning and the truth as does Maddie. I think she should of made him grovel a lot more, and not forgiven him so quickly but in the end Maddie realises how much Bull does actually love her which is a beautiful moment. This story was an emotional roller coaster throughout, and completely heartbreaking at times, with possible triggers for some readers. There is body imaging issues that the heroine is constantly trying to deal with , fat shaming, dog fighting situations with animal abuse. But if you can read this it is a well written book with great characters and little twists and turns along the way that keep you guessing. I loved that it was a longer story by this author, something you could really sink your teeth into and get lost in as always with a guaranteed happily ever after. I can't wait to see what happens in the next book in this series, will Grant grow up and have his story told? Will Pat get his happily ever after? Is William Ranford a possible lead in a spin off series about the crime boss in the big city? Even Jase from the Gym could have a potential storyline. There are so many possibilities and I for one cannot wait but I would especially like to see more of Bull and Maddie, that would be perfect. Maybe they could have a catch up novella, or Christmas special where we see Bull and Maddie without the lies and hurt and Bull treating Maddie as he always intended, his queen with no doubt ever about his feelings for her, or how much he loves her just as she is, now that would be perfect. Happy Reading. 5 Out Of 5 Stars

Good Read

Okay, what can I say about this book? Well, first off, I love anything by this author. I love her writing romance for curvy/big girls, which is great. Although I love this book, I couldn't take away from the repeated mantra of Maddie talking about how she hates herself because she's a big girl. I don't mind reading it in some form, but to read it over and over tend to get a little bit annoying. It's for that reason I'm giving it 4 stars, still a good read, would of course recommend but I could do without the repeated talk about her weight, otherwise this is a well written book.

“Let yourself fall. Trust me. I will catch you. I will always catch you.”
Written by Dramagirl1 on 9th Feb 2022

"She offered him a smile and he nearly f-ing melted on the spot. He had never seen Maddie smile for real, and it was so f-ing precious. It seemed to light up her whole face." I loved this! Even though it was really rough and just messed me up. He has to break up with her to protect her but does he have to do it in the most hurtful, despicable way possible? The thing that I loved was that she didn't just roll over and forgive him, she makes him pay. It definitely had a good grovel. I just plane loved it, the characters, the story, all of it. The only warning that I have is that there is some animal abuse. Not done by any of the MCs but by the bad guys. There is a dog fighting ring and the MCs try to put a stop to it. It was ALMOST too much for me but I'm really sensitive to that. I made it through the because I enjoyed the story so much.

Great read

What a great start to a new series. I loved Bull and Maddie. Bull, who took over from his father as the Prez of the Chaos and Carnage MC, has had his priorities focused on keeping the club together and everyone alive. Maddie is used to being ignored and made to feel less than. After another no-show date and losing her job, Maddie is done with everything. You need to read how this story unfolds. Plenty of twists and turns. I loved the characters in this book and hope Pat gets a book. There's drama, danger and all the usual things Sam is known for, but not in a same old same old way. Great read!!

There were a few twists and surprises in this story that I didn't see coming. Bull sees Maddie and wants her but even though she's comfortable in her own skin, she's been made fun of her whole life. After losing her job, Bull gives her a job in his shop. There's drama, danger and all the usual things Ms. Crescent is known for. This is also the start of a new series and it takes off at high speed. I loved the connection between them and how most of the characters liked her but there is danger lurking around and when it comes for Maddie, Bull does the only thing he can think of to keep her safe, or so he thinks. I wanted to slap him so hard but honestly, I understood why he did it. When she is taken, Bull knows he screwed up and it's up to him and his brothers to save her, but at what cost? For me, the grovel was really good and that surprise towards the end was something that kind of shocked me! Loved everything about this book!

Loved every word of this book . he is so lucky that she forgave him .. He was doing his best to protect her , he did the hardest thing he ever did .. He could have just called her chubby , but he did love her .. And she loved him too ..hot sweet sexy ... The only thing I did not understand is he had a girl sitting on his lap told her excuse me babe I will be tight back , insulted the women he loved and then grab the womens hand and left the dinner .. And it was never mentioned again .. What was going on there , was it for show and if so why
