“No admiration due, babe. I’m not a nice guy. I kill for a living. Clean up what other people shun. Work for a boss who I now know at best has a traitor in his group, and he’s done fuck all about it, or at worst, he may well be the traitor and have no fucking morals at all.” He sounded disgusted. “I might be a killer but I’m loyal and I’d never ever double cross my country. It seems someone has.”
Astrid stretched up and kissed the lobe of his ear. It was Darke’s turn to groan. “Hell and furies, babe, do that and I’ll want you to go down on me before I fuck you senseless. Every way and every way.”
She giggled. Oh God she loved him. Love? Love. No two ways about it. Astrid made her mind up and carefully bit, kissed, and licked his lobe before she dropped to her knees. “Can this thing steer itself?”

Kera Faire is the pen name of Raven McAllan, and those of us who have become rabid fans of her work snapped this up like a subbie in need of a good flogging.
This series is a departure from her usual faire, hense the name. But damn, is it good, so very, very good. And if I were to have to come up with anything to complain about it would be to say that it was too short. I could have read so much more. And you know when you find yourself wanting to snuggle up and do the deed with Darke, that you have yourself a hit on your hands. (Sighing dramatically) I guess I’ll just have to keep re-reading this until the next book in the series comes out. Way to go Kera!

Love brings Orlando to his knees and now he must protect Astrid.
This is a great story! I really love the action in this book. It brings this dark(ish) plot together so nicely. Astrid and Orlando are so sexy together. Reading one chapter is impossible. It was always one more, one more…and then the book is over. The romance is okay. It’s a bit over the top in several places that has me rolling my eyes. But I do love my romantic suspense. Also, how absolutely gorgeous is that cover?! This is a new author to me and I’ll certainly be checking out her other books.
The Dispatcher is a great start to a new series!

Fantastic New Series Starter...

Darke, a contract killer, gets a job from his boss that he has no plans to complete. He’s supposed to grab the only woman he’s ever loved and bring her to his boss. Where the likelihood of her being killed is very hard.
Fiona, whose real name is Astrid, has mourned the loss of her one true love. A man who left her almost five years ago. She is logical, she knows she will never return, and she will never really have the closure she wants.
However, recently she’s noticed that she’s being followed. One night after returning hope she finds Darke waiting for her in the dark. But he’s not the one who has stalking her, or at least the only one. When he learns that he whisks her away to keep her protect.
Will the time that they were apart be deterrent to him protecting her or will they pick up right where they left off. See not only were they a couple he was her Dom and she was his sub.
Will the fact that Darke is known as The Dispatcher turn her away, and when the person who hired him to kidnap her shows up will all hell break lose, or will secrets start to unravel.
I think this series will be perfect. I see that we will get a little more to the back story as we move forward from book to book.
Side Note: I’m a diehard Criminal Minds fan and I am reminded of a specific episode called “To Hell…And Back” (Season 4, Episode 25), when Darke mentions the pigs that he has.

She is logical, she knows she will never return, and she will never really have the closure she wants.\r\nHowever, recently she’s noticed that she’s being followed. One night after returning hope she finds Darke waiting for her in the dark. But he’s not the one who has stalking her, or at least the only one. When he learns that he whisks her away to keep her protect.\r\nWill the time that they were apart be deterrent to him protecting her or will they pick up right where they left off. See not only were they a couple he was her Dom and she was his sub.\r\nWill the fact that Darke is known as The Dispatcher turn her away, and when the person who hired him to kidnap her shows up will all hell break lose, or will secrets start to unravel.\r\nI think this series will be perfect.
