Arctic Ice, 1

Charlotte Austen has been in love with her two best friends, Chris and Drew Malcom, since high school, but choosing between them was never an option. The day she said goodbye to them was a painful one, especially since she thought she would never see them again. Ten years and one visit later changes everything.

Alaskan tiger shifters, Chris and Drew, have never gotten over Charlotte. The fact that they were both in love with her was never the problem … being destined for a mate, however, was. They reach out to her, hoping to find a way to resume their friendship. The three of them get an unsuspected surprise when they see each other again.

The trio’s happy discovery does not come without a price. Jealousy and prejudice threaten to destroy the budding romance. Will Chris and Drew be able to stop the threat before they lose the love of their lives forever?

Be Warned: menage sex (MFM)

Excerpt:

Drew pulled her to him and kissed her just as fiercely. She heard a low growl coming from the back of his throat and that only turned her on more. She had heard growls emanating from them before and quite a bit in the past two days, confusing them for simple male grunting sounds, but now she knew that the sound was a far more primal one. Soon after, his kiss turned playful, as he first licked the top of her lip and then nipped it. She moaned at the sensation and felt her nipples harden against his chest and her belly contracted with excitement, all modesty forgotten.

She had thought about what her first kiss would feel like with them, but her thoughts had paled in comparison with this reality. She moaned again, louder this time, when Drew pulled back slightly and cupped her breasts. Chris moved in closer from behind and began to gift her with kisses to the nape of her neck, gliding his hands up and down her sides.

Drew ended their kiss with another playful bite, but to her bottom lip this time. He exhaled loudly, while she tried to catch her breath. “You should get some more rest,” he said with regret.

“I have done nothing but sleep for the last two days.” Rest was the last thing she wanted right now. “Please don’t stop.”

“Mmm … I can smell her desire,” Chris said right before he tugged on her earlobe with his teeth.

Drew closed his eyes as he inhaled. “You smell delicious.”

“You can—” Charlotte did not have a chance to finish her sentence. Chris tilted her head to deliver another breath-stealing kiss, leaving his hand splayed right under her neck. Charlotte threw her arms up and over behind Chris’s neck.

Drew wasted no time in taking advantage of her inviting position. He cupped her breasts again before bringing them closer together and sucked hard on her nipples in turn. “You have such beautiful breasts,” he murmured against as he continued to lavish his attention on them.

Chris let loose another sexy growl as she tugged on his hair. He used his free hand to glide down her belly, moving the covers away from her body. She nearly convulsed when his fingers made contact with her soaking-wet pussy. She wanted his fingers inside her, but he only toyed with her at first, rubbing her lips, parting them, and then rubbing the wet flesh between. “I want a taste,” he said, cupping her firmly.

She let out an incoherent sound of agreement.

“Lay down, baby,” Drew said, releasing her breasts.

She complied, positioning herself on her back and then she boldly spread her legs in invitation. Chris moved between them. He massaged her breasts and then ran his hands down the length of her torso to her thighs as if his hands were memorizing her body. “You’re so fucking beautiful, Char.”

Drew lay down beside her. “Chris and I are going to acquaint ourselves with every beautiful inch of you, and then when you are ready, we are going to claim you, permanently.”

Charlotte has been in love with her best friends but to spare their feelings she leaves town. Sure, she keeps in touch but her heart never gets over them. When she returns, she meets her high school friends turned sexy shifters and things will never be the same. Charlotte is in love with her best friends who happen to be … brothers. Yup. Brothers. I’m not a fan of brothers loving the same woman. Even if they don’t touch each other, which they don’t in this book, it’s still not sexy. I had a hard time getting into the book for that reason. That said this is a good shifter book. I did like Charlotte. She tries to do the right thing by leaving them so she doesn’t hurt either one. When she returns it’s like fire is under her skin at the sight of them. Now, they have to tell her that they’re shifters and then a dangerous suspense twist is added to the plot. I did like the danger and action with that. I had a good time trying to figure out who the ‘bad guy’ was. This author does a great job with the suspense! Artic Spirit is an interesting shifter story with a romantic shifter plot.

Long and Short Reviews

Tigers on ice. So very nice. Charlotte had always gravitated toward Chris and Drew Malcolm. When her father was transferred away from the small town where she had spent many of her formative years, it was devastating to them all. But when fate opens up a chance to reunite with her long lost best friends she jumps at the chance. Drew and Chris are not your average small town boys. Tiger shifters at heart, they long to reconnect with their mate, Charlotte. Enter complication: Char is human and that is going to be a trick trying to explain their powerful bond. Growing up together with secret crushes is one thing but full on mating? Can the woman they love accept them both as tigers and men? But when a danger threatens Charlotte, they are forced to act, laying it all out on the table, for better or for worse. The question is how will Char react? These questions kept me reading. In the human world, having two husbands is for certain not the norm and Charlotte really struggles with the fact that she has adored both brothers since she was a teen. Distance seemed safer but now that she’s back for a visit, she realizes that mere friendship is not enough. Que in sexy romp music. The seduction of Charlotte was smexy and hot, drawing me deeper (no pun intended) into the story. The only issue I had was only two of the three characters had POV. I wanted to know all three characters as individuals. That and the anal sex scene was glossed over in such a way that I had to read it again to figure out just who was putting what where, and the sensations of said act were not described, adding to the confusion. There was also a reaction by Charlotte’s parents that didn’t quite seem on par with the human world but it didn’t detract from the overall storyline. All in all, I enjoyed the read. This shifter world has some unique rules I have not seen before and would like to see again. The first in a new series, I look forward to the next installment and will keep an eye open for hot new tigers and dragons. (Those were uber cool!) New adventures and smoking new shifters…bring it on.

Night Owl Reviews

Friendships, betrayal, secrets and so much more are included in this wonderful paranormal ménage romance. That may seem like a lot in one story but actually if flows nicely. It seems every twist and turn exposes more things which by the time everything comes together you’re totally hooked and invested in the characters. Chris and Drew may be twins but they are still individuals. Each has his own personality and interests though they are both interested in Charlotte. Charlotte is a bit more complex. She feels right at home in Alaska but some how never realized how many secrets the town was keeping. A bit strange but I suppose possible. Regardless there were several twists I didn’t see coming which was terrific. The romance was okay. This story is marked the first in a series and as the world that was being developed in this story sounds interesting, I’ll look forward to see where this series will go. Charlotte, Chris and Drew were best friends all through high school. Actually, Chris and Drew were twins. Charlotte was attracted to both brothers but refused to choose between them because she couldn’t. Now, years later, they reconnect and Charlotte is heading to Alaska to visit them. As she arrives, Chris and Drew realize their mate in near. Is there a way that they can reconnect with Charlotte and recognize their mate?

ARCTIC SPIRIT is the first book in a new series by Elena Kincaid. We start off with Charlotte. Her father was in the air force and one of the best moves he made was when he was stationed in Alaska. Why? Because Charlotte meets Drew and Chris, two brothers and her best friends. The day she has to leave them is the day that broke her heart. She does it though, knowing it is better this way as she would never be able to choose between them. They let her go, in pain as well, but knowing a secret that stops them from asking her to stay. As they are shifters, they have a fated mate out there, and it wouldn't be fair on Charlotte, or their mate, if they had to choose between them. The years pass by, and Charlotte agrees to meet up with them again. Things turn out differently to how she expected, and the story really gets going. This was a brilliant way to begin. You have fated mates, a lovely ménage, jealousy, danger, humour - trust me, it's all here. The pacing of the story was smooth, and the scenes were delightfully descriptive. With no editing or grammatical errors to disrupt my reading flow, this book flew by as I was totally engrossed from start to finish. Can't wait for the next book. Absolutely recommended by me.

Best friends since the day they met Drew and Chris Malcom are finally going to see Charlotte Austen after ten years of being without her. When Charlotte agrees to visit her friends, she has no idea how her life will change. Not everything will be easy but only she can decide whether it is worth it. Arctic Spirit was a wonderful read and one I would recommend you add to your read list.

We all experience love when we are in high school, that boy or girl who makes our hearts melt. Yet most of us walk away we lose touch or never even see them again. This story is about that little light in our heart that one day when we are older we will meet them again and find that our love is returned. Throw in some tigers, some angry tigress's and some hot menage sex and you have one hell of an amazing story.

Charlotte has always loved Chris and Drew and she is pretty sure they love her as well. But she can't choose so she let them go. Now she has grown up and reconnected with the brothers. Can she see the one last time and let them go forever? I really enjoyed meeting Charlotte and her guys. They were best friends who had lost touch because of love. But years have passed and they have not found anyone who means as much. I love that Drew and Chris decided to stop waiting on fate and take they love they have which has survive the test of time. I loved that when they reconnected with Charlotte the friendship blossomed without a hick up. I enjoyed the laughter and joy Ms. Kincaid showed us as Charlotte found that her men were hiding more than a love for her. This story was a wonderful quick read that I thoroughly enjoyed. I hope Ms. Kincaid will return to this world in the future.

very cool new series

Charlotte found love when she was young, still in High School. Too bad it was a love that couldn't be. She couldn't choose between her best friends, Chris and Drew. The twins had no idea she was in love with them and now 10 years have passed. What happens when you get the chance to revisit your happiest and also saddest times? Char is about to find out not everything was revealed to her in the past. Chris and Drew let Char go for her own good. They've thought about her for years and can't wait to see her again. This was a great read, with unexpected surprises thrown at me. Not gonna say what they were, just be ready for some amazingly cool parts. And yes, I will be waiting for more in this series, I have to know what happens next.

Awesome start to this series

In High School, Charlotte falls for her two best friends who are brothers; Chris and Drew. Knowing she can't chose between them, she leaves but keeps in touch with them. At the same time, the brothers love her as friends but have no clue yet she is their mate. Yup, they are shifters and she is human. When they convince her to come visit them after 10 years apart, they immediately know she is their mate. Now they have to figure out how to tell her about what they are. But there is someone in town who doesn't want Chris and Drew to mate with a human. Will they be able to protect Charlotte? And who hates her enough to want her dead? I always look forward to a book from Elena. Her stories draw the reader in and make you feel like you are right there with the characters. I do have to admit I was surprised to learn who the villain was but of course I'm not going to spoil it! LOL Get this book and spend a nice afternoon or evening reading it. If you like shifters, you'll love this book!
