Next Generation: The Skulls, 2

Daisy:
It wasn’t supposed to be like this. It all went wrong the day one of our enemies violated one of our own. Since then, it has been a waiting game. There is nothing we can do, our hands are tieduntil Anthony can no longer take it. He wants revenge. We all want it—the next generation, the ones forced to go to school with our enemy.

We were going to kill them all and make them pay for what they did. None of us expected the price we’d have to pay.

Anthony:
I was doing what was right. But I failed. Now, I must wait, and hope, knowing I could lose her.

From the moment I first saw her, this dirty, unkept, unloved girl, I had loved her. I still love her. I would die for her. I would kill for her.

I thought my father was weak. I had no idea what was set in motion. There was always a reason for
The Skulls to do what they did, and now, it is a race to save them.

It’s time to right the wrong of the past. It is time for the truth to come out. But, will I be able to save her? A life without Daisy, is no life at all. She keeps me in check, but when Daisy’s life hangs in the balance, it’s time to let the beast out. Daisy has always been mine, just as I am hers.

Excerpt:

It wasn’t going to end now. Daisy wasn’t going to die. She couldn’t die. He wouldn’t let her die.

The doors opened and Anthony watched as his father, mother, along with most of the Skulls’ parents stepped through the doors. Tiny and Eva were close on Lash’s heels. Nash and Sophia, Murphy and Tate, Killer and Kesley were there also. He knew there would be more to come.

Anthony knew he didn’t have to wait long before he felt his father’s wrath. He was grabbed and suddenly thrust up against the wall. There was no way he was going to fight his father.

“You little fucking shit. What did you do?” Lash asked.

He had seen his father angry many times in his lifetime, more than any kid should. He was aware he was not the first true child of his parents. He was their firstborn son, but their first child was killed in the womb after his mother was shot, which they never talked about. Not that his parents ever made him feel less. Knowing he was the second didn’t bother him.

Back home there were also Chloe and Conner, but neither of them had anything to do with this plan.

“What the fuck did you do?” Lash asked.

“Lash, come on, this is not the time—”

Anthony loved his mother, but he also knew it was not her place to stop this. This was the consequence for his actions, and part of him wanted to feel the sting of his father’s knuckles. Not that Lash had ever hit him, not truly. Sure, he’d spanked his bottom from time to time, but nothing he didn’t deserve. Lash was a good father and an amazing leader.

“I did what you couldn’t,” Anthony said.

The anger in Lash’s face was acute. He had never seen him act like this, never seen this amount of rage.

“Oh, is that right, is it?” Lash asked. “You did what you thought I couldn’t.”

“They raped Tabitha, and it took her driving all the way over here to put them in their place. You and I both know the Monster Dogs wouldn’t stop. They needed to be taken out. They needed to be fucking annihil—”

“And you thought you were the kids to do it? You’re not long out of your diapers, and you think you could take on a whole club by yourself?”

Anthony stared at his father. The lapel of his leather cut was firmly gripped in his hands, along with his shirt. A shirt covered in Daisy’s blood.

Taking down the first wave of Monster Dogs MC outside of the compound, partying, had been easy. Like taking down a couple of beer cans. Easy targets. The true danger happened when they got inside, and that was when things went to shit. They’d been waiting and had been prepared.

That was when it had gone wrong. Anthony hadn’t stopped, but he’d known Daisy had followed him. The club members had become animals, taking them down, one by one, until Daniella.

Daniella was one of the girls who had hurt Tabitha in high school. She’d rounded up her posse of girls and attacked Tabitha when she was alone. Ryan had been there as well, when they all ganged up on Tabitha to beat the crap out of her and put her in the hospital.

Daisy had broken her vow to never fight in the quad after that. Anthony had known his woman kept herself on a tight leash. The moment she started, it was impossible for her to stop. That night, Daisy had broken Daniella’s face, and from what he heard, even plastic surgery hadn’t been able to fix the damage.

Tonight, he watched, for the first time in his life, feeling helpless, as Daniella not only shot Daisy in the fucking back, but while he was pinned down by one of the enemies, he watched that blade slide into Daisy’s stomach three times and then plunge in her chest.

Luke, their enemy, had killed Daniella. Accepting Luke’s deal had been a mistake.

Fuck.

In the back of his mind, he saw Daisy being struck with that knife, sliding into her body, and it was like it was striking himself.

As long as Anthony could remember, he had never cried, even when being attacked and holding Tabitha after she was raped. Not even when he discovered the truth about fairy tales and Santa Claus. Not once did he cry, feel sad, or feel anything.

Staring at his dad, he suddenly couldn’t handle it.

Daisy had been struck. Luke had been the one to save her, and in that moment Anthony was finally able to break free from the choke hold. He’d slammed his blade into the enemy’s neck and went straight to Daisy.

“She’s hurt,” Anthony said.

He was not playing his dad. This was real emotion, real pain. It was raw, and it fucking hurt. Everyone looked to him as the weird one, the one who didn’t fucking talk.

He didn’t care. He didn’t see the point in wasting his time with stupid words when people didn’t listen. He had come to realize that no one listened, they all assumed, and they didn’t care. Everyone was interested in their own lives, and everyone else didn’t matter. This was why he didn’t talk.

Then there was the darkness. For the longest time, he had accepted the darkness that surrounded him. Watching people laugh was foreign to him, until Daisy. Seeing her laugh filled him with a light he didn’t know could be possible.

Daisy was everything to him. The love of his life. The light of his whole freaking world.

“I told you … there would be consequences…” Those were the words Daisy had said to him as she pressed her hand against her stomach and started the fight to survive.

Daisy couldn’t die. He wouldn’t allow it.

Beautiful
Written by Kris08 on 24th May 2025

This was almost a heartbreaking read! Such a wonderful blend of past and present to show insight into Anthony and Daisy. For two troubled and complex characters, their relationship felt like the most wholesome of them all. They were ALL IN, no matter what. This was a darker read than I am used to from this author and it is such a beautiful turn-around. I clearly have missed earlier books as there is a LOT of information alluded to, but I was able to follow along easily once I got past the first few chapters. Some of the characters got their much-deserved verbal smackdown, and they were done so well! Loved it!!!!

New stories
Written by ObsessiveReader on 24th May 2025

Love this new spin-off series. It has been a long time since I read the Skulls series. Anthony and Daisy have been together for a long time. Daisy didn't have an easy life and being associated with the Skulls puts her in danger. Anthony is ready to do anything to get revenge for Daisy. Lots of familiar characters make an appearance.

Intense and thrilling
Written by LBing on 24th May 2025

This is the second book for the series and with the author's use of flashbacks, you really get a good sense of the characters, their history and how they ended up where they're at. This is a fairly dark story with betrayal, grief, action, drama, secrets, twists and hot romance flowing through it. I absolutely loved the commitment between Anthony and Daisy and love that they did get their HEA. Expect to be glued to your reader when you dive into this one, it's a page turner :D

Must Read
Written by laura.lovesreading on 24th May 2025

God this book took me on a ride I wasn’t prepared for and I would do it again in a heartbeat. It’s intense, thrilling, explosive, dramatic and all consuming. It’s captivating, not only through the plot, but how the story is build. We get to know the characters deeper and how their relationship began through flash backs, something l’m normally not very fond of, but the author wrapped them in the story so perfectly I can’t think of a way how the story could be anything other. This book is darker, full of betrayal, action, grief, anger, secrets, drama, suspense, twists and turns and a happy ending you couldn’t wait for.

Life
Written by Redfaeryrose on 24th May 2025

What really stood out to me was the amazing relationship between our main characters. They’re clearly soulmates, and the depth of their love for each other is just breathtaking. It’s like they’re two halves of the same whole! The story felt so authentic. It reminded me that while life isn't perfect, the beauty truly comes from the people we love and who love us in return.

Always and Forever
Written by A.K. Shaw on 24th May 2025

Always Mine is the second book in the Next Generation: The Skulls series. It is a very dynamic and compelling story. Sam Crescent does a phenomenal job of building this story and developing very realistic characters. It was especially engaging when he took the storyline into the past as it really helped the present day occurrences meld. The book is a page-turner with action, romance, steamy romance, suspense, lots of drama, and a couple of twists.

The long awaited book of Anthony and Daisy has now arrived. It has fulfilled every promise. It was gripping, keeping me on the edge of my seat. The action was non-stop and the romance was spicy. I loved how we get to see some of the original Skulls and still have their characters in here even with everything that is going on. Once you start this book you can't put it down. This is a definite must read! Sam Crescent has done it once again and knocked it out of the park even after the long wait. I enjoyed this book.

Loved, Loved, loved it!
Written by Reensburger on 24th May 2025

Ugh, this was so good! I've always loved The Skulls and Chaos Bleeds, and reading the second gen is just as good, if not better because we've followed Anthony and Daisy for a long time. Anthony has always been a little unusual, unfeeling, and quiet but I always knew that Daisy would be the person to free him of his moods and thoughts. I can't gush about this book any more, you just need to read it.

I received a copy of this book via Evernight and am voluntarily leaving a review. I loved this story of Anthoyand Daisy. I really loved how it took place while Daisy was in a coma and how their life evolved from their very first meeting. You felt the anguish in Anthony and his pain was reflected in the author's words

A great book!!!!
Written by Queen L on 24th May 2025

Anthony is a member of The Skulls. He will be the leader, once his father steps down. Daisy is his girlfriend, since they were children. Anthony knew that they belonged together forever then. Daisy had a hard life. Her parents abused, and neglected her. She was adopted by another couple, they became their real family. Daisy never felt that she was part of The Skulls. Daisy's life was in danger, when the Skulls were trying to get revenge on another MC Club. This is an unconventional love story. The storyline flowed well. There are twists, and turns. There is love, passion, danger, death, and revenge. I enjoyed reading this book!!!!

another captivating story
Written by Thisbe on 24th May 2025

Like always I enjoyed the writing style, storyline and characters of this story by Sam Crescent. I think it adds to the story if you have read the first part, but it also is possible to read it on its own. This story is about Anthony and Daisy. Daisy was hurt badly and the story can be a little confusing in the beginning, because it starts with how Anthony remembers the past. I enjoyed the connection and emotions.

Secrets and Forever
Written by Bookbunny on 24th May 2025

I’ll be honest, I am a bit behind on my reading about the Skulls and Chaos Bleeds. I didn’t read Tabitha and Simon’s story yet but you don’t really have to. This story follows after an incident that caused and Daisy to be severely hurt. Anthony is beside himself with grief. Through flash backs, we learn about how these two were always destined to be together and hid it from everyone. I have to say, the club had to be blind or they were really good. Lash and Angel knew that Anthony always had a thing for Daisy. I guess with club business, family matters become gray. Through the story you learn about who their relationship began. The secret meetings between the two, up to marriage and even this. Anthony had his reasons for what he did but he should have listened to Daisy. She always had a sic sense. We have the next generation sitting vigil by Daisy’s side. Ever Tabitha and Simon make an appearance. I have to say having not read Tabitha and Simon’s story you can figure out why Anthony is so upset with her. She seemed to be self-centered. Luke isn’t what everyone thought. He may have been one of the Monster Dogs MC but he knew what his father was doing and needed to do something. He was a good fit for the Skulls. When you get close to the end of the book, things start moving fast. There are a few scenes that will shock you. And what happens to Luke, OMG. Just brace yourself. Skulls are not going to allow anyone to hurt anymore kids. And Anthony is just like his father Lash. They are going in guns blazing.

This novel took me on a wild emotional journey. I have read the first novel in this series and really enjoyed it, this novel did not disappoint. I love a good MC novel and this novel checked so many boxes for me. This novel had me on the edge of my seat reading trying to figure out all the twists and turns. My heart hurt for Daisy and all she had been thru. I loved Daisy and Anthony's story. Their chemistry was so good! This novel took me on such an emotional ride with everything the characters had to go thru. Once I started reading I had a hard time putting this novel down. I can hardly wait to see what this author has coming next. So good!
