Romance on the Go ®

Wilder is a supernatural creature who exists off the energy of dreams. He’s never questioned his life in the mystical forest. But when he encounters Meara, he falls in love with her and strange events begin to occur.

While feeding from Meara’s dreams, Wilder accidentally pulls her into his world. And once there, the forest decides it wants to keep her.

When Meara wakes up in the magic forest, all she wants is to go home. Despite their growing feelings for each other, Wilder realizes the forest is wrong to hold her captive.

This leaves Wilder with an impossible choice. He can stay in the forest with the only woman he’s ever loved. Or return her home and face the forest’s vengeance.

Excerpt:

Wilder leaned in, drawing in the texture of her dreams and seeing his reflection as she remembered him. It was a shock to see himself through another’s eyes. In her dreams she found him taller, stronger, and more handsome than he imagined himself. In her dreams he could experience the passion he’d aroused. Simply tasting her desire awakened a deep buried longing.

He had no idea why she had affected him in ways no other mortal ever had. He knew he should keep his distance until he figured it out. But her dreams were too alluring. And it was his one chance for sustenance that night. Succumbing to temptation, Wilder opened his mouth and drank in her dreams.

The taste was intoxicating. He’d never consumed a dream of himself before. Pleasure consumed him. His head spun from the experience. He lowered himself to the floor and sat back on his heels. From within his clouded mind—a warning. He should leave now. He shouldn’t be doing this, whatever this was. He glanced again at the woman in the bed.

Her eyelids flickered once, before closing again.

That was all the warning he needed. Wilder vanished into the fading night.

Dream Pirate!
Written by Mary on 6th May 2025

This story is so interesting, intriguing and different. It is a fairly short and quick read with the supernatural, forest life and creativity. The story is about Wilder, a mythical type being, who feeds off the dreams of others. Every night he steps from his realm and the safety of the forest seeking dreams to feed on. One night he finds Meara, and accidently pulls her into his world. Meara wakes the next day feeling odd and baring scratches. This begins an interesting story where two people seeking each other but a price will be paid. This is a delightful read with steamy bits.

Dreams

I’ve never come across the term "dream pirate" before, or maybe it goes by a different name! I sense there’s a connection between the main characters, but I’m a bit puzzled about the details and the reasons behind it. The author didn’t explore this aspect much. I also feel like the development of their relationship was a bit rushed—maybe the story was just too short to dive deeper into that?

ARC review For a short story, this one flowed quite well. Wilder is a dream pirate who feeds in the stasis of someone else’s dreams. When he’s feeding from Meara, he whoopsie daisy’s her into his realm. But the forest has other intentions with her. I found this short paranormal romance to be interesting and well told.

Dream Pirate
Written by DebG on 6th May 2025

This is different then other stories I have read and I found it quite entertaining. Wilder is a dream pirate which means he lives by sustaining himself by feeding on dreams of humans. Meara is one such human but when he feeds on her dreams he accidently pulls her into his dimension which never happens. There is a connection there but what it is he doesn't know. When the trees from his dimension decide to get involved however that complicates things even more. Find out what happens by checking out this unique story. You won't be disappointed.

Trees try to steal her
Written by Mflannery0809 on 6th May 2025

In this fantasy novel, the forest tries to bring a mortal into its dimension. What it doesn't count on is the dream pirate falling for her and protecting her. This story bounces between realms and keeps you interested.

In dreams
Written by Rubensgram on 6th May 2025

Wilder, a dream pirate, comes from another dimension at night to feed on peoples dreams. Not hurting them no one ever even knows that he's there. That is until he meets Meara. Quirky love story.

Interesting, low heat short story
Written by MamaBear1016 on 6th May 2025

Quite an interesting, low heat short story. Characters were complex and the concept of a dream pirate was intriguing. The story has a sort of HEA but some of the conflicts were unresolved. Not a bad ending but I wonder what happened with the MMC missing his home

The Wilder forest is quite dangerous

Wilder isn't the only one finding Meara hard to stay away from. Meara find herself steeped in chaos from page one. A quick multidimensional romance.

Short fantasy novella
Written by skgillman29 on 6th May 2025

Wilder is from a different realm/magical dimension living in a magical forest. He ventures out one fateful night in search of sustenance, which he obtains through dreams, and is drawn towards Meara. Their encounter is different as Wilder awakens with Meara back in his realm which has never happened before and very much against the rules. He takes her back, but the forest has other ideas and their adventurous relationship begins. This was an easy fantasy to read. I intend to look into the author's other books as I enjoyed her writing.
