The sound of a motorcycle snapped her out of her memories, and anticipation caused her nerves to flutter into overdrive. She glanced at the desk calendar and couldn’t believe she had forgotten. Once a month, a biker she knew only as Sawyer came to spend the night. He was the only thing she had to look forward to in her self-imposed exile. The first time she’d met him, the hum of attraction he exuded scared her. Bikers didn’t have the best reputation, and her ex hadn’t instilled any confidence toward men, but slowly her apprehension turned into fascination. He had to be around her age, late thirties, with a body honed by his profession. Tall, muscular, with tats decorating each arm and along his fingers. She would bet money he had them all over his body. His dark hair had a few streaks of grey, as well as in his trimmed beard and mustache.
The motorcycle drew closer, so she set her dog-eared romance book aside and ran back into her little room to quickly brush her teeth. She combed her hair and pinched her cheeks for color. Trying hard not to be insecure as she stared at her reflection. Her blonde hair needed a trim, and shadows lingered under her hazel eyes like she needed a three-day nap. Oh well. His hair was a little rumpled by his helmet, and his fierce, gray-eyed gaze was laser focused on her. His acute attention seemed to notice every little detail in the room, and Bellamy loved how those eyes watched her with intensity.
