“What are you doing here?”

That voice. The depth of it made her ache for him.

She picked up her beer and tilted it against her lips, taking a long swallow, before she glanced toward him.

Maverick Lavin.

At one time, he’d been the town’s “bad boy.” The ultimate rebel. She was pretty sure people had been afraid of him, but then, about three years ago, it all changed. After his father died of a heart attack, Maverick had come home, and he’d been running the Lavin Mechanic shop ever since. He was the best damn car mechanic in the state, and she knew he was kept busy by people driving all the way to their small town for him to look at their car.

Also, a tiny little problem.

At one time, Maverick had been her sister’s boyfriend. This was before Hank, when she’d been going through her rebellious phase. Their parents had been out of their mind when Maverick came to pick up Adele.

Freya had been jealous. Yep, not an emotion she was used to because when it came to her sister, she was rarely jealous of anything. This time, she was. Maverick had been her secret crush for so long. When she was eighteen, Maverick and her sister were twenty-five years old.

She knew he wouldn’t even look at her then. She’d been too young. Now that she was twenty-five, and Maverick was thirty-two, that had all changed, especially three nights ago.

Celebrating with her sister, she’d not gloated, and while Adele got drunk, she and Maverick had hit it off. Freya hadn’t wanted the night to end, so when he suggested they take it to his place, she’d not argued. In fact, she’d been thrilled. Of course, she’d changed it so that they could go to her place. Maverick didn’t argue.

Actually, she’d enjoyed the whole night, apart from when he’d nearly lost it for taking her virginity.

She’d had the biggest crush on Maverick for so long that no one had been able to compare, and she could not just go ahead and sleep with random guys. She had been waiting for the right guy. He’d never come along.

Then there was Maverick, and she just couldn’t say no, and the truth was, she didn’t want to.

Looking back now, she probably should have warned him she was a virgin. Those words hadn’t been easy for her to say, so she’d kept them to herself. It had nearly ended in disaster, because when he finally entered her, he’d not been gentle about it, and yeah, that had hurt. She’d screamed, and it kind of freaked Maverick out. He hadn’t been happy. Also, she had a feeling he wasn’t happy that she’d been a virgin.

There was no point in avoiding him.

Putting the bottle back onto the counter, she turned toward him. “I’m enjoying a drink, do you have a problem with that?”

Damn, he still looked good. Her memory wasn’t playing tricks on her. Maverick was a good-looking guy, even when he had this pissed-off expression on his face.

She tilted her head to the side and watched him. “Care to join me?”

“You shouldn’t be at the bar.”

She sighed. “Why not?”

“Because, you should be home … resting.” He leaned in and whispered that last part.

Freya rolled her eyes. What more could she do? After the sex, Maverick had been so sweet. He’d insisted on her soaking in a bath with salts, and playing the part of the perfect boyfriend and gentleman, but come morning, when she woke up, he was gone. It was like it hadn’t happened.

“We had sex,” she said, not even attempting to lower her voice.

“Yeah, but you were a virgin, Freya. You should be resting.”

She glared at him. “I’m pretty sure husbands of the past were quite happy to keep it in their pants, and, you know, to allow their newly wedded wives to rest. Please, we had sex and I am fine.” She’d been sore the day after, but it had faded as the day wore on, and now she was more than fine.

If anything, she was a little pissed that he’d not called. He’d not even checked up on her, which is why she was back at the bar, having a drink. Attempting to gain his attention back.

Best sister’s ex I’ve read in a while

I love sister’s ex. I don’t know why, but I do. I love when the sisters hate each other and fight, but when done right, I love when they love each other. Freda and Adele had that. You could tell they just really loved each other and wanted each other to be happy. That was a breath of fresh air for me. Maverick was awesome. He took the breeding kink up a little. It was a really good story and definitely going to be a favorite for my quick reads list.

Freya is a 25 year old sassy and curvy girl who works at her dad's DIY store. Maverick is a hunky, 32 year old mechanic. He dated Freya's older sister, Adele, 7 years ago. The two of them have crushed on each other ever since. When Freya goes out with Adele, to celebrate Adele's divorce, she runs into Maverick, and they go home together. Things get hot and S-T-E-A-M-Y. Is he all in? Or is it a fling? What will Adele say? I loved this couple. They were perfect together. The chemistry was hot, and the ending was super happy after some minor angst. I loved it!.

Freya is out one night with her sister celebrating her sister's divorce. Maverick was at the bar, and he went over to Freya. Sparks fly between them, and she leaves with him. Freya has had feelings for Maverick since her sister dated him. She goes back to the bar another night and starts drinking and maverick comes when someone tells him that she's there. She makes it known to him that she wants him, but he still worries about them being together. Soon both start seeing each other but don't realize they aren't really being secretive about it. Will he finally claim Freya as his own? This is an amazing story that once I started it I couldn't put it down. This is a well written and very entertaining story. Its a book that any book lover would enjoy.

I love how this story plays out, it puts you into the story after their first night together so it is more about the after math and figuring out how they are going to be able to make things work as a couple. Her sister drove me crazy because she was a bit rude at times and not really thinking about her sister’s feelings

A crush comes true. Both Freya and Maverick had crushes on each other but the timing just wasn't right. On the night that Freya and her sister were celebrating Adele's divorce, Maverick went home with Freya. Maverick wanted to keep Freya forever and tried over and over to get her pregnant. They do get their HEA. I recommend this book to all romance readers who like a little steam in their books.

I generally love these quick reads from Sam Crescent and this book was another good one. Freya is out celebrating her sister's divorce when she runs into Maverick. They connect and he ends up going home with Freya only to freak out a little later when he finds out she is a virgin. Freya has been attracted to Maverick since she turned 18. The problem is that her sister and Maverick dated before her sister married Hank. Freya is afraid of things being awkward with her sister. Maverick has been attracted to Freya for a long time and wants a future with her. He is ready for their relationship to be out in the open. He makes peace with Freya's dad and sister and hopes Freya will no longer want to keep their relationship a secret. This was a sweet and sexy quick read that will leave you feeling good.

I think I have read just about every Sam C book out there and one thing that I love is that she always finds a way to put a little difference into the story's you think you have heard before. This is a short and steamy love story of a girl who loves a man and man who loves a girl but he doesn't want to blast it on the front page because he used to date her sister.

Freya has crushes on Maverick since she was a teenager. Unfortunately he also dated her older sister briefly crushing her heart. Years later Freya is grown and while celebrating her sister’s divorce she connects with Maverick. What she doesn’t know is he’s crushed or her for years too. They try and fight it but that fails epically. Love the spice and the HEA!! Sweet and naughty perfect length!!

Loved this book. I loved the forbidden vibes between the main characters, but I also liked that EVERYONE knew about them and didn't care and that it was made clear to the reader and the main characters that this was the case which made the rest of the story flow smoothy! I really hope she writes another one like this soon!

It’s a very cute story about Freya, who is in love since forever with former bad boy Maverick and not forgetting to mention her sister’s ex boyfriend. And just one lucky day everything seems to go right in the direction she ever dreamed of. It’s a very sweet novella with some spice, great characters and a wonderful epilogue. It’s a perfect cozy read, if your in for a no drama, short romantic story.

Our Chance was a beautifully written romance that had me turning the pages wanting to see what would happen next. Sam Crescent created a sisters ex boyfriend romance ( but was he really??) that brought together the bad boy/good girl trope that broke my heart and mended it. Their chemistry was intense and blossomed thought ties book. This book was amazing!!! I love all of San Crescent’s books and reread her books constantly!!!

This is the 33rd book in the wonderful Curvy Women Wanted series. We follow Freya and Maverick, both have feelings for each other and are in love with each other but do not know that they both have feelings for each other. They meet when she is out with her sister one night to celebrate her breakup, they hit it off well and so well that they spend the night together. I enjoyed their story and can recommend it to everyone to read.

I love a sweet romance by Sam Crescent. Our Chance is definitely sweet, but with lots of spice. I wasn't sure how I would feel about the "family connection", but there was no drama concerning it. Therefore, it was made tolerable. I loved the epilogue as well.

This book is really short and honestly there's not much plot beyond the relationship between Freya and Maverick. Most of the action takes place in the bedroom and there's zero conflict. It's really steamy and clearly they are great together. Three and a half stars I almost rounded down but then I realized that even the blurb never pretended its more than a quick bit of escapism and that's what it is. Typical grammar and editing issues but anyone who reads Sam's books is pretty use to that. I disliked the sister, but that's just me although I'm sure everyone who reads this will as well. The epilogue is just an extra bit of fun.

Fast developing relationship between an innocent heroine and a reformed bad-boy who at one point dated her sister - it was a quick, fun standalone read, steamy with good chemistry between the main characters, minimal drama or angst, despite not a lot going on with plot etc, I did enjoy reading it.

This is a low-drama, easy read. Freya has loved Maverick since she was very young. Her sister had dated him in high school, and Freya had secretly been jealous of her. Freya didn't know Maverick felt the same way toward her. I enjoyed the plot of this book. It was easy to get wrapped up in.

This was a short but satisfying contemporary read. I loved the small town charm and family dynamics as our bad boy MMC comes home to settle down with MFC who has crushed on him since she was a teenager. The fact that he had previously dated her sister in the past was a small speed bump but this was a fun and spicy read to enjoy the few hours it took to read. This was well written which also added to the enjoyment.

Part of the Curvy Women Wanted series each can be read as a standalone hand on once you start you won’t put it down until the last page has been turned but it can also be read in about an hour or so. Maverick sexy as all get out reformed bad boy the towns mechanic at the bar celebrating a friends divorce when he meets the women of his dreams, and she happens to be the sister of the girl he dated in high school. A couple destined to be, but it is not a good start. Their first night together was not planned and things were not as expected. Maverick, being in love with Freya for years, determined no other man should have her, secretly plans ways for her to be his. Freya, being in love with Maverick for years, determined to keep it secret, has her doubts about how her parents and sister will react..only to discover worries are not required and their happily ever after results in a lot of loving and children.

My first thought was how is this going to work -- how are they going to keep the secret from her sister. The chemistry is off the charts --- it is amazing. I loved their story! All I can say is read to find out how this all plays out. ?

This is a sweet and fun "Curvy Women Wanted" story. It is fairly short and quick read that stands alone. The story is about Maverick and Freya. She has crushed on for a long time, even when he dated her sister. Maverick has been in love with Freya for some time but has not acted on his feelings. When Freya is out celebrating her sisters divorce from a cheating husband, she runs into Maverick. They end up having a passionate night where she loses her V card. But, he leaves before the sun comes up. She is frustrated so she decides to go back to the bar for a drink guess who shows up. This is a cute story with strong and wonderful characters.

Freya and Maverick have had feelings for each other for a long time. However, girl/sibling code forbids Frey from being with Maverick due to him previously dating her sister. They finally give into their felling's, but Freya wants to keep the relationship a secret. Maverick wants to take the relationship public. I was pleasantly surprised her family and sister were supportive. It was refreshing not to read about the evil parents/siblings that is prevalent in a lot of books. This is a well written novella, spicy scenes, and a nice palate cleanser between darker books.

He will do anything to make that come true, even try to get her pregnant. This reformed bad boy, was ready to make her his, removing any obstacles in his way. Freya is more worried about everyone else, including Maverick.

This short but sweet story was a joy to read. Maverick used to date Freya's sister back in the day but nothing came of it. Years later, Maverick admits to Freya that he's always loved her but she thinks they can't be together because of her sister. I was so happy to see that her sister and her parents were okay with this relationship because it gave Freya the boost she needed to admit her feelings for Maverick. Like I said, it's a short read but a very satisfying story!

This was a fun and lighthearted romance for Maverick and Freya. She's crushed on her sister's ex since was a teen, and when the cross paths in a bar, well, sparks fly. He's watched her for the last few years and pined for her but now he's got his chance ;) I loved his 'plan' on how to keep Freya in his life - but it really wasn't much of a plan, just the results of hot passion ;P These two were fab together and I loved how little angst there ended up being, making this a fun fast read with great steam. So fun!

This was a short, sweet story - about 2 people that should be together end up together! Fraya always had feelings for Maverick, but Maverick dated Fraya's sister when they were younger. Maverick grown out of his rebellious youth and it seems also though Fraya was stunning since she was 18. The two get together, and Fraya get pregnant and it seems 10 years and a few kids later they are still in love! Loved it!

Our Chance - Curvy Women Wanted Series - Book 33 - By Sam Crescent This is the thirty third book in the fabulous Curvy Women Wanted Series, which are shorter stories in length, fast paced, insta love romance on the go reads. This was an excellent addition to the series, I thoroughly enjoyed every word of it. At twenty five, Freya Parker finally had a taste of the man who has haunted her dreams for years. He was the only man she ever wanted and at thirty two being a few years older than her growing up she never thought she stood a chance. Especially after he briefly dated her sister. Maverick Lavin always had the bad boy reputation growing up but now he is grown up, mature, responsible and respectable and finally the girl who he thought would never be his finally looks his way, now he just has to find a way to keep her. These two characters are so cute together, they both missed the signs that the other had been craving them for years but now they have taken a step forward together and the chemistry is explosive between them and they find all that they have been looking for within one another. This is a beautiful, quick, spicy read that I absolutely adored. This series never disappoints. Happy Reading.
