Be Warned: anal sex

Excerpt:

“It doesn’t matter, Shaun. The pack won’t let me be with any other males.” He bared his teeth at her in a purely animalistic way. When he leaned in close she felt his breath tease the shell of her ear.

“Addie, when I say you are mine, I mean you. Are. Mine.” He took her mouth again in a bruising kiss that had her heart stuttering. “There is no one that will keep me from you. I made the mistake of leaving you, knowing you would mate with Brendan. I let others dictate what I should and shouldn’t have in my life. Not again.” The conviction in his voice scared her more than his actual words. Shaun had never acted like he wanted her as a mate, but the way he spoke, so passionately, told her otherwise.

“It’ll be war between our packs, Shaun.” A look crossed his face, but she couldn’t tell what it meant.

“Nothing will keep me away from you. Not again, Addie. Not again.” Tongues dueled together, and she found she didn’t have the strength to push him away again. It would have been the wise thing to do, but she couldn’t. She was sick of denying herself. Too many years she had let others run her life. For once she wanted to do something that would please her.

His hands gripped the edge of her dress, his knuckles brushing along her thighs.

“Let me in, Addie.” His eyes implored her to listen to what he said. His words weren’t sexual, but from the heart. A suspended moment passed between them, and she felt herself nod. A look of pure male satisfaction crossed his face, then he was on his knees before her.

Heart pounding wildly, she stared down at him. To have such a big, powerful male at her feet was a little surreal. His hands started at her ankles and slipped up her calves and stopped at her knees. The whole time he kept his gaze locked on hers. Licking her lips, she nodded because Addie knew that’s what he had been waiting for. Ever so slowly he pushed her dress up, revealing her thighs and silk-covered pussy to his gaze. The feel of his hot, hard breath against her flesh had her cunt creaming. She was so wet, ridiculously soaked for Shaun.

“I want to taste you, baby. You’ll let me, Addie, won’t you.” It wasn’t a question. His hands tightened on her dress as he lifted it higher, baring her rounded belly. She was far from thin, but the way he looked at her, as if her body was made to be worshipped, had any feeling of being self-conscious leaving her. Letting her head rest against the tree, she licked her lips. “Yeah, you’ll let me do whatever I want.” His mouth was suddenly on her pussy, his tongue licking at her through her panties. It shouldn’t have felt so good, but it did. God, but it did.

“Shaun.” His name left her on a soft moan, and she closed her eyes and spread her legs wider. She felt his finger frame either side of her pussy a moment before he pulled the lace of her panties aside. Cool air met her overheated flesh, but that was short-lived when his hot, wet tongue delved between the folds of her cunt. “Oh, God.” The feel of his thumbs spreading her lips apart nearly had her coming right then.

“Look at me, Addie. Watch what I’m going to do to you.”

Romancing the Book Review

As a reviewer for this blog and as an avid reader, I love shape shifter stories. I love the fact that they have superior strength, their senses are more acute, they heal almost instantaneously, and I really love the alpha males and the fact that they have one mate for the rest of their lives. This was book one in the Northern Silver Pack. I really hope there are more books coming out because I really liked this book. There were secondary characters that were introduced in this book and I would love to know how they achieved their happily ever afters. I’m a reader that gets heavily invested in the characters I read about. This book was an entertaining read and I rooted for Addie and Shaun throughout the book till the end. This story was written by two different authors, and I couldn’t tell the difference between their writing styles. I was worried when I requested this book that the writing would be choppy and uneven due to two different writing styles, but this wasn’t the case. I was so relieved. I liked Addie, she was a gentle wolf with a kind compassionate air about her. She was not the independent, state her ideas to make women more equal kind of female. She was described as a wolf who was groomed to have a husband eventually who would take care of her and I can’t dislike her because of that. Addie was no wimp, and she knew what she wanted, she just didn’t want to cause waves and make her parents angry with her. A lot of women feel this way toward her parents. I also liked Shawn. He understood the risks he would take if he decided to go after Addie to make her his mate. He wasn’t afraid of the consequences his actions might bring him. I have to respect that about him. He pined over Addie for a lot of years and decided what was the best course of actions he needed to take to ensure Addie became his mate. Brendan, I didn’t like him at all. I’m sure this is a big surprise. There wasn’t anything likable about this guy. He was mean and abusive towards women. He had no respect for anyone, not even himself. I was very surprised how little sympathy the parents had toward the female wolves concerning whom their daughters were going to marry as well as the fears and concerns the daughters had toward their future mates. I hope that if you give this book a chance that you enjoy it as much as I did, and that you cheer Shaun and Addie on as they struggle to their happily ever after.

Since her birth, Addie has been promised to the alpha Brendan, a cruel and womanizing male that she fears. It’s her childhood friend Shaun who holds her heart and soul, but it is her duty to follow through with the mating. Shaun isn’t about to left Addie mate with another, even if it brings damaging results to both packs. He’s going to do everything within his power to challenge the right to claim his love. Brendan isn’t about to let Addie go without a fight and he isn’t about to play fair. He doesn’t care as long as he can hurt the lovers. Taken by Her Mate is the first collaboration between wildly popular authors Sam Crescent and Jenika Snow who have created a dark, commanding paranormal story filled with treachery, danger and love that produces some shiver inducing moments. The authors’ take a tried and true plot and add a few unique twists along with a an edge of brutality and passion to make the story interesting and engrossing to the very last page. The reader is left on the edge as each new scene unfolds and the tension and drama rises between the danger that plagues Shaun and Addie. The great lengths that the villain is willing to go to create mayhem, thus foiling the mates bonding, becomes a little extreme but it still holds the reader’s attention. Addie has been sheltered as a young shifter which gives her character a tender and obedient innocence that is endearing and believable. Shaun is a noble and commanding hero who will go to any lengths to protect and claim his lady. Shaun and Addie are strongly matched characters who continue to develop and grow over the course of the story and as the emotional turmoil mounts, these two are worthy individuals who seem to really come alive. By adding the family and the pack to the story the authors give an authentic sense to the action as well as the main characters.

Shaun has always known Abbie was his, but archaic laws dictate she will go to another. Those same laws also mean there may be another way. Abbie feels she is destined for hell because life with the mate chosen for her could be nothing else. When a man from her past suddenly appears, he offers her a different choice. The archaic laws need to be changed, but he will use those very laws to fight for the woman he loves. Unfortunately, there are times when victory may not lead to happiness. Will Shaun and Abbie find their happily ever after? I was on the edge of my seat for every page. The struggle for love was suspenseful and emotional. The battle both mental and physical made the romance over the top exciting. Taken by Her Mate is a superb shifter story with action and a panty wetting hot hero. - See more at: http://www.coffeetimeromance.com/BookReviews/takenbyhermatebook1bysamcrescentandjenikasnow.html#.Um2bv-go5dh

Written by Angie on 12th Oct 2013

This promises to be a really good series! Shaun is in love with Addie he just needs to keep her from mating with Brendan the womanizer. Shaun gets Addie's brother, Jackson, to help him. Addie doesn't want to mate with Brendan, but she has no one that will listen in her pack except for her brother, Jackson. Brendan is very dark and dangerous and no one wants to believe that there is anything wrong with him. This was really interesting with the laws of the packs. Addie and Shaun what strong people/wolves they are through everything they have to endure.

Taken by Her Mate is the first book in the Northern Silver Pack by Sam Crescent. Addie is a virgin promised to Brendan since her birth. She has no choice in the matter and once she turns 21 she will be given to Brendan. Addie has loved Shaun since they were children and she fears Brendan since he hurts her every time they are alone. Shaun is a future alpha of his pack and in love with Addie since he was a child. Over the years it has only gotten stronger. Now Shaun will do whatever is necessary to protect the women he loves. Shaun knows what he wants but he is not sure how to get it. He wants Addie safe from Brendan. Brendan is the one man who lives to hurt her and get away with it since he is the alpha’s son in Northern Mountains Pack. However, Shaun is also the alpha’s son of the Silver Cross Pack. Shaun remembers what he was taught and a way to save Addie. Shaun is a strong man who loves deep and wants to do the right thing regardless of what others think. Addie is frightened of Brendan who says cruel things to her just to scare her. He also likes to hurt her but no one listen’s to her. Everyone says she should feel honored but she doesn’t. Addie has not been taught to fight back. In fact, no females in either pack have been taught to fight. She is very innocent and willing to do her job of mating Brendan no matter how much she does not want to because that is what she has been told to do. The chemistry between Shaun and Addie is blistering hot. Shaun has done almost everything he can do to get Addie’s pack to allow them to mate regardless of being promised to Brendan. The sex scenes between Shaun and Addie are sizzling hot. Overall, this is a great book that kept me on my toes right up to the end. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.
