Skye and Noah have been taken. They’re trapped and at the mercy of strangers. To survive they must count on each other—only, they’re not friends. They are worlds apart, but they must do whatever it takes to survive their new, brutal world.

Noah is not used to being at anyone’s mercy. He’s always been strong. Something is wrong, though, and he can’t fight his way out of the shithole he’s been forced into. The men who have him know he’s weak, and when they make him hurt Skye, he has no choice but to do their bidding, or she will face even worse at their hands.

They have only one chance at escape, but the instant they taste freedom, both know their lives will never be the same again. They were chained up, abused, humiliated, and they know people paid for the privilege to see them. How can they move on from this?

Is there any way for them to have a normal life? They’re twisted. They’re fucked up.

And there’s no one else they can turn to but each other.

Be Warned: this is a dark book with many triggers

Excerpt:

“What happened?”

“You don’t remember?”

“I … something hit me hard, I think. Ugh, I can’t think right now. It’s too much.”

“You’ll be fine.”

“No, I don’t feel fine. What is going on?” She pressed her hands to her face, and still nothing became clear.

“Do you know your name?” he asked.

“Yes.”

“What is it?”

“Why are you asking me so many questions?” She didn’t want to think right now, or focus, or do anything.

Kidnapped.

This was what happened in movies to really popular girls that were nothing like her.

“I need to know you’re okay.”

She licked her dry lips, staring at him. “Skye. My name’s Skye Carver.”

“How old are you?”

“Eighteen.”

“Who am I?” he asked.

“No, I know who you are. You tell me.”

“Noah King. I’m eighteen years old, star of the football team, and you’re my tutor. I’ve been flunking in English and science, all of them. You’ve been helping me. What is the last thing you remember?”

“I don’t know.”

“Please, Skye. We need to keep our heads right now. I need to know everything, and so do you. We were both hit pretty bad.”

“Okay, fine. I remember the day at school. Derek stole my soda and ran around the cafeteria. You asked me to meet you out by the brook.” She paused. “Why did I have to meet you out by the brook?”

“I wanted to talk to you about the studying.”

“Yeah, you wanted to quit and have me do all of your assignments. We got into an argument—”

“And woke up here,” Noah said.

“That’s it. That’s all I remember.”

“Me too. I woke up a few minutes before you.” He held up his cuffed wrist. “You’re on the bed, no cuffs, nothing. I’ve been nominated to be chained to a wall.”

She crawled off the bed and headed toward him, determined to get to him.

Her body wouldn’t work the way she wanted it to, and she had no choice but to grit her teeth to keep on going, to keep on trying.

“Drugs,” Noah said. “Clearly to keep us sedated as long as possible.”

She got to where he sat and touched the cuffs, following the link to the wall. There were bolts on the wall. She gripped the metal chain, putting her feet to the wall and starting to pull.

As she let out a cry, the metal dug into her hands, and she released a sob.

“It’s fine. Don’t hurt yourself.” Noah captured her hands, holding them in his. “Don’t do anything stupid.”

“Stupid? Noah, look around. We’ve been kidnapped. We’re somewhere in the middle of nowhere. I’m trying not to freak out right now and totally failing.” She sniffled. “I’m scared.”

“I know.” He gripped the back of her neck, pulling her in close. The small movement made pain explode behind her eyes, but she didn’t tell him to stop. “We’ll get out of here. I promise.”

“We don’t even know where here is.” She lifted her head up and glanced around the room. A single light lay in the high ceiling. No window in sight and only one door. The room had one bed, a toilet, and that was all. Not even a sink.

“It’s got to be out in the sticks somewhere.”

“Noah, we don’t even know how long we were out. For all we know we could be in a foreign country or something.” She rubbed at her temples. Getting to her feet, she touched the wall.

“What are you doing?”

“I don’t know.” She moved to the door and tried the handle. “Hey! This isn’t funny. We’re just kids. Let us out.” She slammed her hand against the door, wanting to leave, to be free.

“Don’t do that, Skye. I mean it. Don’t.”

“I just want to go home. I want to go back to where everything was normal.”

She heard movement behind the door, and she jumped back in time before the metal door hit her in the face.

With the sudden rush avoiding the door, she caught herself off balance and fell on her ass.

Scrambling back from whoever it was, she went to Noah. Looking up, she saw three men.

Redz World Reviews
Written by Redz on 1st May 2019

First thing I would say in a review of this book, this story is not light nor fluffy, it is not for the faint of heart. Many triggers not to mention scenes that are disturbing in nature. Twisted in Chains by author Sam Crescent, this is one of the best stories I have read to date from this author. I am really really super glad I got to review this one. The characters are well rounded, flawed, and completely had me wanting their happiness. This book deals with kidnapping and trauma. Skye is an innocent brainy girl from high school. She is overweight and a tad on the shy side. Noah is the school jock. He just had the misfortune of having the wrong tutor and being in the wrong place at the wrong time. We get to see them go through a ton, grow from it, and deal with the aftermath. It impacts everything they do from then on. Also gives them a bond that never breaks. The characters have heart and soul, they are worth the read, the connection is unforgettable in this story. If you want a walk on the dark side of growing up and loving this is the book to pick up it is a read, you will not soon forget.

Dark and Twisted
Written by Fay on 24th Apr 2019

Okay when there was a warning for this book, I guess I took it lightly. But man it lived up to the name of this book. Firstly like it says if you are not into Dark and Twisted books then don't read this book. Secondly the storyline of this book was good. It dealt with a whole lot of dark and twisted situations, but also the story of two people who were brought together in a terrible situation and from there their lives where changed in a drastically horrible way. Now they are two people living with this darkness, and feeling guilty for the way seemed to perceive they can be happy. But I liked that Noah didn't shy away from what he wanted from his life. And how he was patient with Skye and also how Skye saw that even though he put up this brave front Noah was just as broken as her. Loved the storyline, but some parts I think were a bit much for me too handle too. Hence why it took me a while to read this book. But if you like the dark and twisted tales then One Click this book and you wont be disappointed.

TWISTED IN CHAINS....
Written by JJ on 16th Apr 2019

I have spent the last few hours lost in such a dark, twisted, tragic, epic and in all the dark romance I've read the darkest I have ever read. Skye and Noah start out as teenagers kidnapped and taken to depth that even he** was afraid of. They manage to escape but it really never left them. 15 years later and 2 failed marriages between them. Noah is a rich, playboy who likes to be in control. Skye has her demons, living in horrible conditions. They find the adult versions of themselves but each see where they grow up too rough and learned the world is not always so kind. They have changed and seeing them struggle was hard for me. They don't understand no one gets them but each other. They don't need to hid and each gets why they are still messed up after all these years. As dark as the story is. The ending and getting to find out how they silenced their demons 15 in the future brings LIGHT to two people who desperately needed their happy ever after.

Beautifully dark
Written by ClothesBooksAndStuff on 15th Apr 2019

I loved this book from start to finish! It's deliciously dark with the right amount of sweet and sexy in the mix. Skye and Noah really have to rely on each other in a situation that is so fearful and painful. It's very well written.

Skye and Noah have been through something unspeakable, horrible. They can only turn to each other for anything. This book was so emotional, painful, heartwrenching, beautiful. These two characters try to move on and love and become something worth fighting for. I wanted this book to go on and on. I really en jk eyed this book even through the hard part because it made Skye and Noah.

Fantastic, dark, edgy romance
Written by Amanda R on 15th Apr 2019

Sam Crescent is a favorite author and her latest Twisted in Chains is dark and edgy, but still a romance at heart. There are warnings that this book has multiple triggers - I was fine with the darkness. The book begins with Noah and Skye kidnapped and held. They suffer. Oh do they suffer. But through it all they have each other. They are young and come from much different worlds. Noah is the star football jock at their high school and Skye is a studious nerd who is helping tutor Noah. Neither has any idea how their worlds will collide. Don't want to give away any spoilers. They go through hell together. Lots of dark twists and turns and I was never sure what would come next. Grab this book if you like dark, edgy romances with lots of hotness. The author provided an ARC for an honest review.

WOW!!!!!
Written by Rhonda on 15th Apr 2019

Just when I thought Sam Crescent couldn't get any darker than her Initiation and Damaged Queen books, she dares to write one even more dark. Just a warning, this book, in my opinion, is dark, dark, dark! Skye and Noah are two teenagers who are kidnapped by sick and twisted people for their deviant pleasure. With no one else to cling too, they become each other's world in a place they never thought they would be. I cried, got ticked off, almost threw my kindle against the wall and then cheered. Can these two fight for their lives and still be normal? Some of the other characters shocked me as to who they really were. This story pulled all sorts of emotions out from me and while there were a few times I had to put the book down, it didn't take long to pick it back up again so I could find out what happened!! I loved it and I hope she writes more like this in the future!!

Twisted in Chains
Written by A on 15th Apr 2019

WOW! I was unsure about this book with it being a dark romance but it was just beautiful. I’m not sure how else to describe it. Noah and Skye had been through complete hell together and after years of trying to live separate lives they finally find each other. There just could never be anyone else for either of them and it was amazing they got their HEA.

Twisted in Chains - Noah & Skye
Written by LRCH on 15th Apr 2019

O...M....G!!! This book was amazing! It was dark, but it had me completely pulled in and I could not put it down. Noah & Skye get kidnapped and go thru SO much and get free, but that’s totally not the end. There is an HEA, so no worries there. Sam Crescent has an awesome book here!!

Dark and Edgy
Written by Traci on 15th Apr 2019

This book had me hooked from the beginning!! For six weeks Skye and Noah went through hell!!! It was so painful to read even though it's just a book I felt so bad for Skye and Noah. They leaned on each for support and they survived. Eventually they both moved on both were married and divorced. I was so glad when they saw each other again They deserved their happily ever after. This book was much darker and violent than The Initiation. Some of the scenes were a rough but I enjoyed this book very much. Once again Sam Crescent did an excellent job writing this book.
