Vision of truth
I enjoyed vision of truth which was Issac and Sabrina’s story. I thought it was a steamy, suspenseful roller coaster. I got a copy of the book and voluntarily leaving this review.
Vision Series, 3
He’s vowed to protect her. Even from himself.
Navy SEAL Isaac Adair’s secret could shatter his family. He’s devoted his life to serving others as a member of an elite special warfare team—a job that keeps him from doing something unforgiveable like giving into the searing attraction between him and his foster sister. Loving her is sweet torture but from the moment they met, he’s vowed to protect her—even if it’s from his true feelings.
Julie Lambert has everything, except for the man who has always owned her heart. His misplaced honor has kept him away from their family—one formed by traumatic bonds, not by blood. When she witnesses the high-profile murder of a client’s father, a dangerous crime organization wants them both silenced. Isaac will give her the protection she needs, but will he give her his heart, too?
Excerpt:
“Thought I heard you stirring.” The low, gravelly pitch of his voice never failed to make her heart thunder. Instead of moving away, Isaac pulled her closer, kissing her forehead, then shuffling her back into the bedroom. The door closed behind them with a soft click, and Isaac turned them so the cool wood was pressed against her back. “Wanted to make sure you heard what I said last night.” His rough palm was cupping her cheek, sliding down her neck. Warmth spread between her hips.
“I need to check on Sabrina.” Her voice hitched, suddenly nervous to hear what Isaac was going to say to her. She was more vulnerable standing here in the light, facing him, than she was last night.
Isaac’s face softened. “We made pancakes and eggs. Rowan’s kitchen has never seen so much destruction.” A rare smile ghosted over his lips. “They were playing Fruit Ninja on her tablet, then he made a friend for life when he dug out a bunch of old padlocks and keys from his toolbox. Kid’s having the time of her life.”
She drew her head back, momentarily distracted from Isaac’s touches. “You were able to get her a new tablet?”
“Yeah, at the store last night.” The back of his hand gently brushed over her collar bone. “Don’t know if it’s the best quality or what she needs. I was grabbing things blindly and moving as fast as I could. Also found the toy keys, but now that she’s had the real deal I don’t think there is any chance of going back to plastic.”
“I can’t believe you got all that you did.” Her voice had turned to smoke—hazy and thick with lust from their close proximity.
They stood against the door hip to hip and she couldn’t suppress a shiver of pleasure as Isaac’s gaze bore down on her. His pupils nearly eclipsed the irises, black licorice swallowing up warm chocolate. He’d always hid his desire for her, but right now, he was revealing everything. The intensity was so staggering, the breath bottled up in her chest. They were on the edge of something profound. His hands went to her waist, growing possessive as he slid them down to grip her hips. She stilled as his broad chest heaved, breath rushing in and out. He had to make the first move. Needed to be the one to carry the relationship forward.
One moment she was contemplating if he was going to kiss her, and the next his mouth crashed down on hers. Isaac swallowed the groan that seized in the back of her throat. This was everything she’d ever wanted, everything she’d dreamed of. Honest in their feelings for one another, exploring this explosive attraction that had always sparked between them. He tasted of coffee, of maple syrup, of Isaac. Perfection. When the result of his attraction pressed against her belly, she slipped her hands into the back pockets of his jeans and tugged him closer. His hands fisted in her hair, angling her head to deepen the kiss. His tongue played against hers, and her nipples beaded beneath her shirt. They were both losing control, and as much as she wanted to push Isaac to give her everything, she slowed the kiss, grazing her teeth slowly over his bottom lip. She brought her hands to his chest, even though their legs and hips were still molded together.

This is a short read. This is Isaac and Julie's story. What happens when your inlove with your foster sister? Could it destroy his family if he lets his feelings out? He has vowed to protect her, but can he when danger comes? She has had feelings for him and would love to have have him love her back.
The main and supporting characters all have difficult pasts, yet those are what bind them together into a makeshift family. The MMC believes what happened to him as a kid makes him unworthy of the woman he’s loved almost his entire life. The MFC has been waiting years for him to finally let them build a romantic life together. Bad situations lead to more bad situations, but also many discoveries. The MMC is a Seal, however, the cinnamon roll level is OTT. If you are looking for a male lead with a hard exterior and extremely soft center you are in luck with this one!
I loved reading Isaac and Julie’s story in Vision of truth by Charlee James. Isaac lives by is beliefs and his honor, loving the work he does with his team helping others but he has a secret that he believes could destroy it all, he’s in love with her foster sister. He’s loved and sworn to protect Julie all her life and doesn’t let it go any further but what he doesn’t know is she loves him just as much and would give anything to be with him.
I fell in love with both Isaac and Julie. These two were so good. I loved his protectiveness of her, even from himself. This book had me swooning. It was a first by this author but will not be a last.
This book will move you emotionally everywhere with its drama, danger, suspense, love, and devotion. Charlee James has given readers a well-written story and likable characters with intense pasts and devotion to each other. Isaac is a protector with an undying love for Julie, so when she is in the wrong place at the wrong time, witnessing a crime, her life is put in danger and she must be protected at all costs.
WOW! This is the third story in the "Vision" series about foster siblings. Each story features one of the siblings finding their match. This one features two of them; the story is about Isaac and Julie. This is a stand alone read with connected characters; a family of sorts.. Both of the characters were introduced in the prior books. This story is non stop action and thrilling suspense. It is an intense read where two people have danced around their feelings for each other, but one refuses to give in to the temptation. That is until she is in danger and he almost looses her. This story goes full throttle from the very beginning and does not let up. The story has danger, drama, murder, violence, kidnapping, dark elements, crimes and incredible twists and turns. There are possible triggers for some readers. The plot was intriguing and addicting. I loved every bit of this story!! All three stories are intense and great!
Isaac and Julia grew up in the same foster family. It gave it an air of the taboo. I thought this would make reading this uncomfortable but it was well written.
This book took me on a rollercoaster ride of so many different emotions along with danger, drama, kidnapping, suspense, secrets, mafia, betrayal, hope, forgiveness, realizations and love. Issac and Julie’s pasts are rough to read and their love journey is an emotional one. I enjoyed this story and plan to go back and read the others in this series.
Explosive intensity & blazing chemistry absolutely rocks you as Isaac & Julie finally come together. Isaac oozes alpha tendencies & sends shivers as he puts his focus on righting his wrong. Julie awes us with her strength & love. Sabrina a sweetheart will steal your heart. Charlee thrills us with love, banter, action, camaraderie & a bond that goes beyond. You will devour this!
I enjoyed this book. I thought the writing was good and the storyline, while a bit implausible, was still interesting. I liked the characters and thought Julie and Isaac were well suited. And I loved how devoted Isaac was. I also appreciated that the author included a side character with a disability. As someone who is disabled it is refreshing to not only see people with disabilities portrayed in books, but to read a portrayal that was obviously created with care and knowledge. I’ll be on the lookout for the next book in this series.
