He was just abducted, and he never felt freer…

Liam “Lee” Hallion has an assignment: kill the one person in the world he’s cared about since losing his parents. When he discovers that nothing in his life is what he thought it was, he decides to make a stand and take the head of the snake who betrayed him—and the first step of his plan is to abduct the man’s son.

Scott Majors has no idea why he’d been abducted, but he is going to try everything he can to escape. When he discovers the true identity of the man who abducted him, his urge to escape quickly becomes a desperate desire to be kept.

Can Liam and Scott survive the evil hell-bent on ending them both, or will this abduction end in blood?

Be Warned: m/m sex

Excerpt:

“You’re bleeding.” The man sounded pissed off, as if the fact that Scott was bleeding was somehow his own fault and a complete inconvenience. “Damn it, let me see them.”

Scott scrambled back on the bed, pushing into the wall. “Get the hell away from me!”

The man sighed and moved toward the wall. Light exploded within the room, and Scott lifted his hand to shield his eyes. “You’re really not in any position to make demands, Scott. Not with me.”

Scott froze against the wall, blinking rapidly to get his eyes accustomed to the light. “How do you know my name? Who are you and what the hell do you want with me?”

“There’s not a whole hell of a lot I don’t know about you, Scott,” the man answered dryly.

Scott dropped his hand and looked up at his captor. In any other circumstance, the man before him would have captured his attention. He was exactly the sort of man that Scott liked and fantasized about. He was tall, at least six foot four, and built like he knew his way around a gym and worked his way around one every chance he got. He had wavy black hair, short on the sides but longer on top, a square jaw with a day’s stubble, and blue eyes that had Scott’s heart stuttering within his chest. Did he know those eyes? Shaking his head and blaming it on the knock to his head, Scott put that thought aside and concentrated on what the man was saying.

“I know you are Scott Theodore Majors, you’re an ER nurse at St. Luke’s, and you’ve just finished your shifts for the week. You’re not rostered on for the next four days.”

Scott started to tremble. From his medical training, he knew that shock was setting in.

Scott’s mind whirled. “I have a boyfriend, and he’s expecting me home. He would have called the police by now.”

The man’s eyes narrowed, and Scott thought he might have just made a critical error.

“Did I not just finish telling you that there isn’t a lot I don’t know about you, Scott?” He whirled away and walked to a door Scott hadn’t noticed before. He opened it and switched the light on. “We are currently in the basement of my house, on my property in the middle of nowhere. My nearest neighbors are more than fifteen miles away, and no one comes to visit. There are no windows in this room, or in the bathroom through that door. The only way out is the way we just came. If you simply stay put and do what I tell you to do, then you will be comfortable. However, if you try to escape, I will move up my schedule and that will not go well for you.”

Scott’s stomach dropped. “Why?” he asked hoarsely, still none the wiser.

The man sighed, and sadness filled his eyes. “Sometimes, it’s the children that must pay for the sins of the father. That’s simply the way life goes.”

I loved the premise

3.5 stars. I loved the premise, but thought the execution could have been a little better. Still, it was enjoyable and I'd definitely look for something else by the author.

Liam ”Lee” Hallion is an assassin for Blackmore, an agency unbeknownst to Liam was a front for owners George Majors and Shawn Cabello to make unbelievable amounts of money and dispose of anyone who got in their way. Lee has never questioned an assignment nor has he ever turned one down until the day he opened an envelope to see the face of the only person he has cared about since his parents were murdered. When Majors puts a hit on him Liam is forced to fight for his life. Scott Majors is an ER nurse and for some unknown reason he’s just been kidnapped. Scott has no idea who has kidnapped him nor does he know why anyone would want to kidnap him! When Scott finally works out who has kidnapped him he can’t believe it. Liam Hallion is the last person he would ever expect to do that to him until Lee explains that his own father has put a hit on him that Lee turned down and now he wanted both of them dead! Scott and Lee haven’t seen each other since they were teenagers recovering in hospital together. Lee was recovering from multiple stab wounds and Scott was recovering from an extensive beating from his father after being forced to watch him torture and murder his mother. When Scott informs Lee about what his father did to both his mother and himself throughout his childhood until the day Scott ran away they both realise exactly why Scott’s father wants him dead! It’s while they’re waiting for Major’s next move that both Lee and Scott rediscover their love for each other. As they fall in love Scott realises that far from wanting to be rescued he wants to be kept forever but only by Lee! Lee realises that with Scott he can be himself and it doesn’t matter to him that he’s a retired assassin! Abducted For Life is another winner for Maia Dylan! I have no hesitation in recommending it to everyone who loves to read m/m romance. If you haven’t got your copy yet, why not? Hurry up! J

This one falls in a short story category and, believe me, to say anything about the plot beyond the blurb would be a spoiler, so I'm going to refrain myself from doing that...Even though my rating isn't exactly stellar, I actually liked this story - I liked Lee & Scott as protagonists, there was a certain depth to them (as much as the length of the book allowed it), I felt the connection between them, and I wanted for them to have a happy ending. Unfortunately, given the blurb, I expected the road to happy ending to be, well, a little more difficult than it was...Honestly, I expected action, crazy escapes, fights - everything that usually accompanies bad guys, but alas I didn't get that, or at least, not as much as I wanted. I still liked this story, but it would be even better if it was a little longer and more developed.
