Ward Hildreth and Kirsty Blake hate each other. No one knows exactly why, but they always argue, fight, and just don’t get along. Ward cannot deny that he finds the curvy brunette sexy as hell. He has admired her body for a long time, but that doesn’t mean anything.
For Kirsty, she has never liked smart-mouthed Ward. He always seems to think he knows best, and he always has to have the last word. Much to her surprise, she learns of a bet that has been placed on her and Ward finally getting together. She is shocked and when she tells Ward, he is just as surprised as her. What starts out as a civil conversation, soon becomes heated, and Kirsty doesn't know what exactly happened next.
One moment they’re fighting, the next, they’re kissing. Only that kiss … was amazing.
There is only one tiny problem, both of them want to do it again. They agree to date in secret. There are many surprises along the way through their secret dating. Ward starts to fall for her, and he loves that he is the only man she has been with. He is going to make this the best experience of her life.
When Kirsty becomes pregnant, Ward knows it is only a matter of time before everyone knows their secret, but he wants her to know his feelings. He is in love with her, and he is not going to run and hide. He wants to show everyone that she belongs to him.
Excerpt:
“So, you’ve got me all alone. Do you want to tell me what is going on?” Ward asked.
She spun around, and from the time it took her to close the door, he’d already moved closer to her. Rubbing at her temple, she let out a little laugh. “Ugh, it’s kind of complicated.”
“Complicated?” he asked.
“Well, yes, and no, ugh, I don’t know.” She nibbled her lip. “Do you … do you know of any kind of bet?”
His frown deepened. “Bet?”
“Yes, about you and me.”
He shook his head. “No, why would I know of any kind of bet?”
“Well, I was talking to my friend.” She stopped, debating if she should say who it was.
“Bethany,” he said.
“How do you know she’s who I’m talking about?”
“You and her are always hanging out. You always have. It’s not hard to come to this conclusion.”
“Oh.” She was surprised he knew, but then again, she and Bethany had been friends since long before kindergarten even started. Their mothers had been best friends, and that friendship had developed between their daughters, which again is why they had the make-ahead Saturday.
She’d loved today, and tomorrow, she and Bethany would continue in the afternoon.
“What has Bethany said about a bet?” he asked.
“It’s … I didn’t know if you had started the bet or something like that.”
“You know, I didn’t think it was possible, but you have this talent, Kirsty, for making me so confused. What bet?”
“Ugh! Apparently, there has been a bet running since high school about you and I getting together. I didn’t know if you started it as a joke.”
Silence met her response.
She stared at his chest, and no, she wasn’t admiring the peek of bare flesh she got from the open shirt he wore. Ward was dressed in jeans, and he wore a flannel shirt, which was open, over a white vest. He’d not removed the flannel shirt, but that didn’t stop her from seeing some of his chest.
What the hell was the matter with her?
“I have no idea what you’re talking about. I don’t know about any kind of bet. Are you making this up? Trying to play a joke on me?”
“Me! Play a joke on you? You’re completely insane, Ward. I’m not the one who plays jokes. That is you. All you.”
“Oh, yeah, well, maybe if you had a sense of humor, I wouldn’t have to play jokes on you, to get you to actually laugh.” He took a step toward her.
Kirsty refused to back down, and she snorted. “Oh, please, I don’t need you to laugh. I laugh all the time, and it has absolutely nothing to do with you. You’re not even funny. You’re not anything that resembles a joke.”
She had no idea what she was saying, or what she was doing.
“Yeah, I think you’re lying about this bullshit bet. You and I … it was never going to happen. In your wildest dreams.”
“Trust me, Ward, you do not feature in any of my dreams. You’re not even a single thought in my head when I have … dreams.” She didn’t know what she was saying, as nothing was making sense to her right now.
She didn’t know how it had happened, but she suddenly stood toe to toe with her nemesis.
“Don’t worry, I know you couldn’t imagine having any kind of fun. You don’t want anything in a man. He must be boring as an old stick.”
“Yeah, and he certainly won’t be anything like you. I mean, what disease have you picked up lately!”
“I don’t know, why don’t you tell me?”
Kirsty wasn’t quite sure how she got from insulting him to kissing him. One moment, they were glaring at each other, not a smile between them, and the next second, his lips were on hers.
I've read a lot of books written by Sam Crescent; she is one of my favorite authors. I can’t wait to read more of her books. This is part of the Curvy Women Wanted Series; it is a stand-alone short story. The story is about Kirsty & Ward.
What a wonderful story. We follow Kristie and Ward. They can't get through a door and do nothing but bicker and there is a lot of hostility between them, they don't know where it comes from, but they do have feelings and a friend of Ward makes it clear to him that he has always loved her. They will both admit that they actually feel more for each other. I enjoyed their story and can definitely recommend reading it.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. Ward and Kirsty hate each other. At least it seems that way. Ward has always had a little crush on her butbKirsty always figured she was out of his league in school. People from school always thought they would get together and even made a long standing bet. Everything come ro fruition and they get together to see if what people said is true.
This was a fabulous enemies-to-lovers read with a knowing theme that these two amazing characters were the last to know that they would always end up together regardless of how long it took them to reach their happy ending. I adored the banter, the knowing smirks I could see on the faces of the small town’s residents in my mind’s eye. Kirsty and Ward’s story is a gem in Sam Crescent’s Curvy Women Wanted series which I strongly recommend to readers who enjoy BBW romances with hot men and endings you want to read again and again!
Curvy Perfection was steamy enemies-to-lovers perfection!!! Sam Crescent has done it again!!! I swear anything she writes is page-turning, original and has scorching hot spice. I thought this book was a quick read which I love!! It has the right amount of angst, drama, banter, and spice!! The characters were complex and had an explosive chemistry that had me laughing and swooning. Do not miss this book!!! I can’t wait to see what Sam Crescent brings next!!!
This book has everything, great storyline, charming characters a hea. There is humour and a little angst. What's not to love. It's a charming story of enemies to lovers to marriage. Perfect one day read.
Very sweet, short little story with some spice. Enemies to lovers, third person with dual pov and super sweet HEA.
This was another incredible book by Sam. The characters, the small town and the curvy woman all make for a great read. You could feel the tension between the characters and had to wonder when their disdain for each other turned into something more.
Love the curvy series. It just gets better and better. Sam Crescent does a great job. Definitely need to read these books.
This is one of my favourite series written by this author and I cannot wait get my hands on a new one. And whilst I always enjoy what she give us, this time i was little surprised since you didn't really get to experience the first main heated scene between the main characters, even after the build up, it kind of skips the next morning but its not necessary a negative, just surprised me as normally you get every nitty gritty bit but after this the story moved on quite quickly... getting you to the end a lot sooner than what it normally feels like. I really enjoyed both characters and I devoured their every interaction, even if it wasn't just the hot stuff! I am still very much looking forward to her next one though!
This was a fun read. It is a quick read and the story will suck you in so you cannot put it down. This was the first book I read in this series, but I will definitely be reading more.

Kirsty and Ward can’t stand each other and they would be the last people to ever get together. That’s why it comes as such a shock that a bet has been placed on them actually getting together. This absurd idea gets them into a heated argument that turns into an even more heated make out session. Confused about the state of their relationship, they decide to keep their newfound romance a secret. Soon enough feelings grow deeper and the complications increase. This was a cute and sassy read with a lot of heat. Love hate enemies to lovers to more.
This was another great addition to the CWW series. The character work and story line were well written and kept me coming back for more. I can't wait for my next adventure with Sam Crescent.
This story had a really fun premise of enemies to lovers, but everyone around these two knew they were, in reality, hot for each other ;) Of course, they were oblivious until they heard of the bet about them hooking up...which led to them hooking up. Lol! This was fun and steamy and quite entertaining :D
This is an automatic re-read for me.... you know the book when you have had a hard day and you want to take your mind away from the stress of every day life. I honestly loved everything about this book and I can not say enough how good it was. It has an awesome story line with relatable characters that will keep you hooked all the way through to the very end.
As per usual Sam's done it again with this sweet yet spicy read to add to the curvy women collection. Ward and Kirsty have been arguing with each other for years, yet they seem to be the only ones in the small town in which they live that can't see the chemistry between them. Tales of a bet on when they'll get together draws them to actually talk for a change which then leads to a kiss. After that we get spice and sweetness and everything in between.

I throughly enjoyed reading about Ward and Kirsty I found myself completely captivated with these characters they had a connection and attraction that sizzled when together I couldn’t resist being drawn into their story definitely a good read.
Ward and Kristy have been dancing around each other for years! Everyone in their lives knew it would happen eventually. Great fast novella to read Love this authors many books definitely recommend this story
This was a very quick, but fun read. I enjoyed the back story and tension between Ward and Kirsty, and how their relationship evolves. I did however find the book very light on the steamy scenes which are usual in Sam's books, it almost leaned more toward a "sweet romance" - though there was still some steam, so not a "clean romance".
They seem to hate each other...always arguing together...but under this...is attraction...everyone in town see they love each other...exept these two .. when she finds out there is a bet on them . she confronts him...and he is just as suprised..but it get them to think about theit feelings...and guest what????
I chose to read and review this book. I enjoy this genre a lot and do like this author's work. I liked it but felt something was missing. The book is well-written with charming and captivating characters yet it needed more sexiness or spice. I can't wait for the next one.

Kristy and Ward have been on each other's nerves since high school. Kristy was the curvy nerdy girl and Ward was the good looking football player (who wouldn't let his teammates make fun of Kristy or ask her out). Once it's brought to their attention that maybe all the bickering is hiding sexual tension, they can't concentrate on anything (or anyone) else. The character interactions between our two MCs and their friends are hilarious. I loved the innocence of Kirsty and the protectiveness of Ward. If you're looking for a really quick read (under 90 minutes) with some spice, look no further. Another winner from Sam Crescent!
Both were denying the love and attraction for 12 years until they couldn't anymore. This is a fast paced story full of love and steamy scenes. With a nice HEA.
This is a fun, short and quick read with a enemies to more plot. The story is about Ward and Kirsty who went to school together and never left their small town. These two are always bickering until the best friends make an point. There is a fine line between love and hate. There is also a bet that has been reveled that neither Ward or Kirsty knew about. This is a fast paced and fun read with sweet moments, passion and cuteness. I love the build and the characters.
Cute read! I have read other novels by this author and loved them and although this was a very quick read I enjoyed this novel. Once I started this novel I sped right thru it and was sucked right into the story. I love a good enemies to lovers, and this novel just seemed to hit the spot. I loved Ward and Kirsty, they have been going at it since high school with their bickering. Loved their chemistry and watching them discover that communication helps to bridge the gap between them. I can't wait to see what this author has coming next.

This was a super fast story that I read in one day. Kristy and Ward's story was cute, two individuals who went to high school together and 12 years later they learn about a bet their friends placed on them back in the day. Kirsty and Ward are like oil and water - they just don't mix. Until IT happens - an impromptu kiss that shakes them both up good. Now they are magnets for each other, but they keep their relationship under wraps. People are nosy and the MCs refuse to be the cause of even more chin wagging by the people in their small town. Funny thing is, everyone already knows they have a tendre for each other so the joke's on them. A little steamy, a little amusing, so good.
This was perfection. I had so much fun reading about these two trying to hide what they were feeling when it was them who was the last to know that they were in love with each other.

This is a quick read at under 100 pages. Kirsty is the curvy FMC and Wade is the MMC who was the star quarterback in High school turned tattoo artist ?There’s a thin line between love and hate and these two walk that line in pure lust. They’ve been fighting what everyone else around has seen since high school. When they finally give in it’s ??. If you want a quick and spicy read with a little plot thrown in this is perfect.

But Ward has always been looking out for Kirsty, in high school no one got to make fun of her and if he is honest, no one could date her either. So when they found out that there was a bet on them getting together everything changed. Now they have to take a good look and feel at their feelings. This is a short sweet story.
This was another incredible book by the author. The characters and their chemistry will hold your attention and then add the "real" woman getting the amazing guy--well what is not to love OHHH and the steamy scenes just the icing on the cake.

I love when SC puts out one of her sweet romances. Curvy Perfection is one of those... Kirsty and Ward have always bickered with each other ever since high school. Now twelve years later, they still argue constantly and are oblivious to the underlying reason. After being told some real truth from friends, they start to question what they think they know. I really liked both characters (and secondary characters) and their dynamic. This is a sweet read with an HEA and epilogue.
Love this kind of enemies to lovers kind of read. Kristy and Ward were so into their differences that they didn’t even knew when exactly they started to fall for one another. Love it when they finally do end up together.
Every woman deserves to feel desired. To be loved for all her beauty and flaws. Kiss every scar or imperfection from a man who sees she's his world. That she's the most beautiful woman...no matter what shape or size we are. I loved this short story.
I wish this story could of gone on longer. I loved the craziness of Kirsty and Ward but I felt like it happened too quick and could of meant more if a longer story. Don't get me wrong loved the concept just thought it could of been more detailed. I did love the struggle of coming to terms with their feelings and the epilogue was a great one!!
Loved everything about this story between childhood "frenemies" Ward and Kirsty. The small-town gossip mill was so amusing. Both BFF's Bethany and Christopher were awesome at reading Kirsty and Ward and giving them the push they both needed. Loved how "the bet" ended with Randall. The banter between Ward and Kirsty was great ... as was their overall chemistry. I was entertained from the get go.
Loved reading Curvy Perfection and it was a very quick read for me. Sometimes you find love when you least expected it and Kristy and Ward’s story was all that and more.
Ward and Kirsty have known each other since High School. They have also hated each other as well or so they think. Everyone else thinks these two are meant to be together. They just need to realize it too. It takes communication between the two to finally break through. You have to love the little simple fights. They never really hated each other. They both hid their interest in each other. And it was funny at times with what we find out. And I have to say they were both just waiting for the right moment. Thank goodness for Bethany and Chris for help pushing them together.
I love this series it's one of my favorites and This is another great edition to the curvy perfection series. Five star read!

They have verbally sparred for as long as they can both remember because they claim they are incensed by each other, although they do seem to find one another in a crowd, can't not have the last word, however once they learn about a bet their friends have been running for years about them eventually getting together things take a dramatic turn and they go from wanting to be opposite ends of the room to not keeping their hands off of one another. The story is another sweet romance on the go read with great spice and an enjoyable plot. Another great read in this fabulous series. Happy Reading.
