The Good Knight Society, 3

Grant’s life was building his company and being a part of the Good Knight Society. Women were for one thing, and that was sex. Until he saw Jennifer, and then she became his whole life, and he’d do anything to have her.

Jennifer has had to fight for everything her whole life. First to just survive, then to make something of herself. She couldn’t deny the way Grant made her feel. It was unlike anything she’d ever felt before, and it terrified her. He was rich, successful, and so damn handsome, she didn’t understand what he saw in her.

Will he be able to overcome her insecurities before it is too late or lose her forever?

Be Warned: anal sex

Excerpt:

“Oh, God, Grant, please do something. I ache.” She moaned and pushed her hips against his.

“I will, baby. Just lie back and let me make you feel good.”

His mouth latched onto one of her nipples while he pushed two fingers inside Jennifer to stretch her enough to help her take his aching cock. He waited until she was at the height of desire, when her need was so great but not close enough to send her over.

“Sweetheart, I need you to relax. Can you do that for me?” He kept his eyes on hers as he positioned his manhood at her entrance. He slid one hand between them and manipulated her clit, keeping her need high. Grant gritted his teeth and reminded himself that he needed to make her feel so good, bring her level of need to a high pitch so she wouldn’t feel the pain.

He pushed the head through. She was so narrow and tight he started to fear she really wouldn’t be able to take him. He pushed in another inch and stopped when she tightened, dug her nails into his arms when she gripped him, and made a distressed sound. He stopped even when his stomach clenched with a brutal need. Grant took a deep breath and felt a bead of sweat roll down his temple. He summoned all the strength he needed to keep control, gritted his teeth, and pulled himself back from plunging into her depths. He bent and sucked her nipple into his mouth, and at the same time worked her clit with his fingers.

He groaned in relief when a rush of feminine moisture eased his way. With one firm push, he broke through her virginity. Grant lay still on top of her, keeping most of the weight off her. He felt her nails dig into his back, and a small cry slipped from her mouth. He held himself still and gave her time to adjust. After a minute, he was pleased when he didn’t see discomfort on her face, just pure desire.

He framed her face with his hand as his hips pinned her to the bed. “Baby, I’m in. You will never again feel any pain.”

Jennifer took several deep breaths, trying to get her senses back. The calm didn’t last before her head thrashed, and her hand clutched at him.

“Grant, please help. I feel like I will break apart if you don’t move.” Her attention was riveted on him as she panted. She tried but was unable to keep breath in her lungs.

“I’ll take care of you.” He growled low in his throat as he moved slowly in and out, deeper and deeper, until she took all of him and let her feel him as he moved inside her. Intense pleasure skipped down his spine from the constriction of her cunt around his aching cock. He gritted his teeth so hard, amazed he didn’t break any. He had to have her go over first. No matter what, he needed to give her the pleasure of an orgasm. He continued to sink inside her, and his thrusts got stronger and faster. “Come for me, baby.” When he felt her womb start to constrict, he reached down and pressed on her clit, throwing her over instantly. He continued to try to gain his own pleasure and drove into her.

Within a second, he grew larger and harder inside her before a groan was torn from his throat. He continued to pump his hips until he started to soften. He wished this sensation could go on forever.

Grant collapsed on top of her. He ensured he kept most of his weight off her with his elbows on either side of her shoulders, amazed at how much he shook.

Jesus. He’d never felt anything like this before in his life. Everything about her drove him insane. He’d never been possessive of a woman before, but with her, he felt murderous at the thought of another man ever touching her.

Before he’d made love to her, he’d known he would keep her. But now, he wanted to bind her to him so tightly that nothing would ever get between them and take her from him. His obsession with her just went to a level he’d never known existed. Insane was a mild term for the emotions that flowed through him. Losing her was not an option he would ever consider.

As Grant regained his breath, he slowly pulled out of her, not wanting to give her any more discomfort. His eyes bore into hers as he tried to read the emotions swirling in her eyes. He bent and softly kissed her lips before maneuvering up off her. “I’ll be right back, baby. Don’t move.”

After he disposed of the condom and cleaned it up, he switched off the light, returned a minute later with a warm cloth, and sat next to her on the bed. He reached for her legs.

A bright red shade of embarrassment ran up her neck to overtake her face. She pulled her legs away from him and pressed them tightly together.

“No, Grant. Let me do that.” Her voice squeaked in alarm as she reached for the cloth.

He held it up and away from her. “No, love. I’m going to clean you up, so you’re more comfortable, and then we’ll sleep.” He ignored her resistance and pried her legs apart before gently wiping away the evidence of her virginity, sweat, and orgasm. When he finished, he threw the cloth toward the bathroom. He stood and pulled the comforter and blankets out from under her before lying down beside her. He reached to turn off the bedside light before he pulled her into his arms and curled his body around her.

“How are you feeling? Are you in pain anywhere?”

Jennifer stiffened a little. “No,” she whispered.

Long moments passed, and the only sounds were their breathing. She felt him move behind her, and then she found herself on her back and him over her. He threw a leg over hers and kept her pinned to the bed when she tried to move.

Grant leaned in, pressed his lips to hers, and was pleased when she opened them to him immediately. He ate at her mouth for several moments before raising his head. The room was dark except for the moonlight coming in from the window, casting shadows around the room. Just enough light fell on them, and he could see her expressions. “Tell me again. Are you okay?”

Her teeth bit into her lip, and she felt the heat of embarrassment seep into her face. “Yes. I’m fine.” She tore her eyes from his probing stare. Before she took a breath, his hand slid down, and one of his fingers probed up into her. A cry burst from her as the need instantly took over her.

He watched her carefully as he explored her for any sign that she was feeling discomfort, but all he saw was desire, and all he felt was a rush of wet heat telling him her body was ready for him again. Grant inhaled the sweet smell of her cream and groaned.

“I can’t wait to get my mouth on you. I’m going to spend days feasting on you.”

Jennifer whimpered and clutched at his hair.

He pulled his head away and spread his hand over her soft stomach to keep her pinned. “Now tell me what’s wrong. If it’s not discomfort, what is it?”

Jennifer drew in a deep breath, and her eyes met his silently. “Nothing is wrong,” she whispered as her hands traced the muscles in his chest. “I’m just embarrassed, I guess. I mean, good heavens, I’m in bed with a naked man.”

Good
Written by JeniT on 6th May 2026

I absolutely loved the first two books in the series but this one I felt was a bit off. Grant is an amazing character and his instant attraction and fast fall for Jennifer are so good. She’s kind of the weak link in my opinion. She’s insecure and there are definite reasons for that but Grant shows her with actions and words how much she matters and how devoted he is to her. The drama from other women seemed a bit overdone at times and she kind of annoys me with her reactions. I definitely enjoyed the book but she’s not my favorite character in this book

This was a great book. The chemistry was on point and the story was a fast moving easy to follow book that I truly didn't want to end and definitely when I started I couldn't stop reading it. Must read this book (and this series). I received a free

This series is wonderful BUT I can safely say that Lila Fox sure does know how to deliver a wonderful book. Her take and delivery of the DDlg stories is alway always always wonderful. Love how she packs so much into a novella length story. So good!

Instant-Connection Romance with Obsession, Heat, and Heart
Written by A.K. Shaw on 6th May 2026

Fierce Devotion is the third book in Lila Fox’s The Good Knight Society series, and it delivers a romance filled with instant attraction, protective energy, emotional intensity, and the kind of possessive devotion readers of this genre often enjoy. While the mysterious Society itself does not play a major role in this installment, its presence is still felt in the background. You know Grant, Devon, and others connected to the Society are operating in the shadows, even while the women in their lives, Jennifer and Tessa, remain unaware of what their men do to keep society safe from monsters. This story takes the obsession element to another level, but not in a dark or cruel way. Grant is intense, focused, and completely certain that Jennifer is meant to be his. From the moment they meet, there is a love-at-first-sight pull between them that sets the tone for their relationship. Grant is protective, steady, and very clear about what he wants. He repeatedly shows up for Jennifer and makes it known that she is the woman for him. Jennifer is a more complicated heroine. Her insecurities create much of the conflict between them, and while that makes the emotional tension believable in some places, there were moments when I found myself frustrated with her. Grant consistently reassures her through both his words and actions, so her unwillingness to communicate openly caused unnecessary drama and hurt for them both. The outside interference also felt somewhat thin, especially since the women stirring up trouble were either known flirts, openly dismissive of Jennifer, or simply random enough that they should not have carried so much weight in her mind. Even with those frustrations, I still found the story engaging. Lila Fox knows how to write a possessive, devoted hero, and Grant is definitely the highlight of this book. His certainty, protectiveness, and fierce devotion to Jennifer make their romance satisfying, especially for readers who enjoy alpha heroes who fall hard and never waver. The chemistry is strong, the emotional pull is there, and the connection between Grant and Jennifer keeps the pages turning. I rated this book 4 out of 5 stars because I enjoyed the romance, the intensity, and the continuing world of The Good Knight Society, but a few things kept it from being a full five-star read for me. Jennifer’s lack of communication became frustrating, and there were also some editing issues, including typos and a moment where Grant appeared to be called Garrett. Still, the heart of the story worked, and fans of protective heroes, instant-love romance, possessive devotion, and secret-society-adjacent intrigue will likely enjoy this installment. Fierce Devotion is steamy, emotional, and full of alpha-male commitment. If you enjoy romances where the hero knows exactly who he wants and will do whatever it takes to claim and protect her, this is definitely one to pick up.

I've never been disappointed by a Lila Fox book and this series is no exception. This is the first book I've read in this series but it won't be the last. This is Grant and Jennifer's story. They meet at a business mixer her friend Tessa and her husband Devon drag her to. She feels very out of place but as she looks around the room, she sees Grant and their attraction is immediate. As Grant pursues Jen, she struggles with her self image and her traumatic childhood. What she doesn't realize is her and Grant are very similar. They both have worked hard, putting any personal life on the backburner. When Grant begins to tear down her walls, will her insecurity and an acquaintance ruin a promising relationship and future. You have to read to find out. Great Story!

I am always happy when Lila Fox releases a new story. Grant and Jennifer's story is short but has everything you could expect. Jennifer has always had to fight and work hard to get ahead, and Grant is the right person to help her see who she is, that she is amazing, that she also has a right to love, and that there is someone who can love her, even if she doesn't believe it herself yet or realize it. A book full of suspense and romance.

Hang on get comfortable you won’t be putting this down until the last page has been turned. These two will pull you into their orbit not letting you go. Grant sexy as all get out business owner his life is building his company, being a part of the Good Knight Society, and never had any plans for developing feelings for a woman because he didn’t have the time or attention so maybe a date but that was it until he meets the one. This is the third story in the "Good Knight Society" series where protective men have formed a secret society to be knight's in shining armor, to protect and assist those in harms way. Such a good read with an intriguing and interesting plot. The story is quick, fast paced and addictive. I love the characters and what develops between them. The story is about Jennifer and Grant. She has not had an easy life now she lives for her shelter. Tessa, her best friend, talks her into coming out with her to an event. Grant, also at the event, sees her and only has eyes for her. Unfortunately, Tessa's other "friend", does not like that he chose Jennifer over her. Jealousy and insecurities play a large part in this story. This is a sweet and steamy story with some action, drama, twists and more.

Book 3 of The Good Knight Society series. Can be read as a standalone. 'He was rich, successful, and so damn handsome, she didn’t understand what he saw in her. Will he be able to overcome her insecurities before it is too late or lose her forever?' The characters were very appealing and complex and perfectly steamy together. Plot was intriguing and intense and well paced. World building was solidly drawn and impressive. Another great addition to the series. Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend. Grab a copy, kick back and enjoy!

All she felt was hope, love, and need...
Written by Luv2Read17 on 6th May 2026

Jennifer runs an animal shelter and is extremely frugal (due to her sad background, she's had to be). Her friend Tessa adores her and gets her to be more social as often as she can. One night at an event with Tessa (and a very miserable acquaintance of theirs, Madlyn), Grant spots Jennifer and knows she'll be his. Grant is beyond wealthy and is part of the secretive Good Knight Society, but can't help his instant attraction to innocent Jennifer. I liked this book, but felt it was a little too long and because of that, we get quite a bit of repetition- especially when it comes to Jennifer's self-doubt. Jennifer finally gets it, but at over 85% in, with under thirty pages remaining (in a 250+ page book...).

Loved Grant!
Written by Shelly44 on 6th May 2026

I have read the other novels in this series and enjoyed them. From the first couple chapters this novel pulled me in and kept my attention until the very end. My heart hurt for Jen and all she had been thru in her childhood. She basically had to care and raise herself. I loved Jen and Grant together. I love how protective and possessive he was with Jen. He was willing to do what it took to protect her. Their chemistry was so good! I loved how he was willing to give her time. Once I started reading I didn't want to put this novel down. I can hardly wait to see what this author has coming next. Such a great story! So good!

Great read
Written by Laura Ann on 6th May 2026

Jennifer has had to work hard and pinch pennies for most of her life and she is now a vet tech. Her bestie is Tessa, who is trying to get Jen to come to an event with Tessa & her husband, Devon. Joining them is one of Tessa’s friends from high school, Madlyn treats Jen horribly. Put Jen puts up with it because she loves Tessa. Once at the event, a man notices Jen. Tessa’s danger instinct hits because she knows the guy, as he and Devon are friends. His name is Grant, and he is a self-made man. Tessa introduces everyone, and Jen is drawn to Grant, so they dance. Meanwhile, Tessa tells Devon about her fears. Madlyn just wants what those around her have. She causes problems a lot throughout the book. Jen is the epitome of innocence. Madlyn is fake, jealous and a jerk. While Grant & Jen dance, they are just too cute. I like how he handles her, although he is a bit pushy with her when he asks her out. Grant decides he wants her, and he usually gets what he wants. Later on, Jen goes to the meeting for a fundraiser for the animals at the shelter that she is in charge of. There she finds that this company is Grant’s. Both are shocked, but Grant, easily switches gears to talking to her and things bother Jen. They talk. I find that when Grant goes with Jen to the shelter to care for the animals to be adorable. So is the double date. Devon & Grant’s protectiveness and ready for violence as needed, to protect Tessa and Jen, is just soooo hot. I love that Grant is taking his time with Jen and isn’t pressuring her into things. They are perfect for each other. Tessa will take a bit to get used to it. Grant is so romantic when they decide to get physical and it gets sooo hot and steamy. It broke my heart to learn about their pasts. I knew Madlyn was going to cause problems but I was shocked about a few things. Then, I was livid and want to beat her up. At one point, I was so upset, that I was devastated and crying. But, then things were handled… I’m not telling. ^_^ lol. The book was just so good.

I am a huge fan of Lila Fox and this is such a great series. Jennifer and Grant meet while out with friends. They have an instant connection which they continue to pursue. Jennifer has insecurity issues and Grant is trying to be patient. Grant knows he’s in love with her but doesn’t want to scare her off. Jennifer lets her insecurities and some well told lies compromise everything they had been building. This book is intense, sweet, emotional and steamy, everything you need for an excellent read.

Jennifer and Grant
Written by LBing on 6th May 2026

This was another fun read for the series and I loved the contrast between successful businessman and member of the Good Knight Society, Grant, and scrappy veterinarian, Jennifer, that had to fight for everything she has. She's spent a life time hearing how 'less' she was, and she's really not prepared for the connection between her and Grant. Nor the differences in their lifestyles... Grant can't see what she sees in herself. She's beautiful, amazing, strong...and his ;P I loved following these two on their journey, and dealing not only with her self image issues, but also negative outside drama. So good and I'm looking forward to more books set in this world :D
