The world building was clear, the characters interesting and the plot, engaging. There is a mystery surrounding Lily, only daughter to a wealthy couple. Little did anyone know, but her mother was controlling and rather verbally abusive. Lily really couldn't measure up to her mother's expectations. She meets Dane, a wolf shifter - not that she knew there was a supernatural community - after twisting her ankle in the woods and is drawn to him. He knows she's his fated mate but he has to go slowly to introduce her to his world. Sadly, while he was away, she left the compound and got into terrible danger at her parents' home. She didn't realize there was a nefarious plot set up around her until it was too late. Definitely check the TWs for this one as there are general details of on-page of SA. Her rescue, healing and the twists that come to light, had me glued to my reader. I was so rooting hard for her to recover and get her HEA with Dane. I really enjoyed this page turner and look forward to the next book :D ","date":"23rd Jun 2026"},{"name":"Kris08","rating":"4","title":"It got dark...","text":"Broken Mates: Dane and Lily\r\n\r\nThe opening chapter gave me an inkling of what was going to happen, and it was aan interesting waiting game to see if it was correct. \r\n\r\nDane falls fast for his mate, but it’s a slightly slow burn as she’s human. She’s a sweet character, and I loved when she was visiting and getting to know everyone. \r\n\r\nAnd then, the story got dark very fast, with some very, very triggering scenes, and my heart broke.
