Trucker Love, 2

Ziggy Montrose dreams of escaping his stepmonster and the diner where he spends sixteen hours a day. He wants to return to trucking, but after his father’s death, family honor forces him to take his father’s place at the grill.

Harry Myles lives for the times he is able to see his truck stop lover. On this visit, he discovers Ziggy has been beaten and needs to escape the life that he did not choose. Harry helps him escape in the hopes their relationship will grow deeper as they spend time together off the road.

Will Ziggy and Harry build a relationship based on more than truck stop hookups? Will Ziggy be able to fully escape his stepmonster and her increasingly insane demands? Will Harry be able to convince his brother the company needs another driver?

Excerpt:

“Answer me, Z-man. Who did this to you?”

Instead of confiding in him, Ziggy shook his head and turned toward the kitchen. Harry thought he saw tears in the man’s eyes.

“It doesn’t matter,” he whispered before hurrying back into the kitchen.

“He was fine yesterday, but he had the newest ones when I came in this afternoon for my shift,” Sally Jo said softly as she wiped the empty table behind him.

“Do you know who could have done that?”

Sally Jo finished with the table but did not walk away. “My best guess is his stepmother. She’s a mean bitch and has always hated Ziggy, even before his father died. That’s why he became a trucker as soon as he could get his license and a job. To get away from her.”

“He’s a trucker?”

“He was. For almost six years until his dad died. That’s when the ice queen demanded he come home and take over the kitchen. She works him like a slave and I think she beats on him pretty often, but he won’t complain or have her arrested or anything. When I asked him why he doesn’t just walk away and go back to the road, he said it has to do with family honor.”

Rage began to burn in Harry’s belly. “Family honor, hell. If she is hurting him, he needs to get out of here.”

Sally Jo smiled at him. “You talk to him. Maybe he’ll listen to you because he sure won’t listen when I tell him he should leave before she puts him in the hospital. Or worse.”

“I think I will,” Harry said rising from his seat. “I’ll be back in a minute, so please don’t throw my dinner away, okay?”

“Sure thing, big man,” Sally Jo said, glancing toward the front window. “Better make it quick. She just pulled in, no doubt to empty the cash register before she goes to town for a night of drinks and fucking one man or another.”

Harry nodded as he rose and slipped around the counter and into the kitchen. “Cover for me.”

He did not wait for her response, but ducked into the kitchen just two seconds before the front door opened with a loud jangle of the cowbell.

Looking around the kitchen, he was impressed by how clean it was, especially after a full day of cooking. But Ziggy was nowhere in sight.

Harry opened the walk-in refrigerator, but the man was not in there, either. He headed down the short hall to the back door, but did not see him in the storage pantry, or the small office. Pushing the back door open, he took a step out and looked around.

“Go away,” a small, miserable voice came from his left.

“Not until we talk,” Harry said, easing the door closed so it would give them privacy, but not lock them out.

Walking around the dumpster, he found the slight man sitting on a plastic box. Had he lost more weight since the last time Harry had been through?

Ziggy looked up at him with tears running down his face. “What do we have to talk about?”

Though he was not sure his brothers would approve of his hiring a new driver without their input, Harry felt in his gut this was the right thing to do. Ziggy needed to get out of here, and after their every other week liaisons, he wanted the man with him in his truck. He wanted to fully explore the attraction he felt for the cute ginger that had his cock rising every time he was within twenty miles of the truck stop.

“About you coming on the road with me.”

Harry watched as Ziggy blinked before he said, “But if you’re my boss, we can’t have sex. That wouldn’t be right.”

As soon as Ziggy blurted out the statement, he frowned like he could not believe he had just put such a condition on his coming on the road with him.

Though it was not at all what he wanted, Harry nodded. “That sounds reasonable. At least until you decide we’ll be together permanently.”

“Permanently?”

“Yep. As in ‘til death do us part, grow old together and adopt a dozen cats once we retired from the road.”

The expression of astonishment on Ziggy’s face had Harry fighting to keep from laughing out loud.

“But you hardly know me,” Ziggy whispered.

“I know enough that I’m willing to spend the rest of my life getting to know all the parts of you that I don’t know yet. So, what do you say? Come with me when I leave in the morning.”

Wonderful story
Written by RhondaVB on 19th Apr 2025

Ziggy wanted to get away from his stepmom so bad because of how she treated him. When his father passed away, he felt he needed to stay and keep the Diner his father owned running but his stepmom was cruel. His only bright light was when Harry, one of three triplet brothers, stopped by while driving his rig. Harry enjoyed hooking up with Ziggy when he drove through but this time, he found Ziggy bruised and looking bad. Well you know feelings are going to bubble to the surface between them when Harry suggests that Ziggy come work for him and his brothers in their trucking company. They leave and Ziggy is finally free? Or is he? I loved this story. You don't find a whole lot of romance stories that feature truck drivers and this was a really good one. Now I can't wait for Sam's story!

Home on the Road!
Written by Mary on 19th Apr 2025

This is the second story in the new "Trucker Love" series. This is a short and quick stand alone read. The story is about Ziggy and Harry. Ziggy, since his father's death, has been in a horrible spot and deals with torment from an evil step mother. Harry is a truck driver, who ever several weeks stops by and visits with Ziggy. This is a MM romance that is touching. I don't want to give any more details but their story is intriguing. I love the characters in this very fast paced story.

I enjoyed this read
Written by Anne H on 19th Apr 2025

I enjoyed this read Ziggy works in his Dads roadside cafe His father died six months ago changing his life. He had been a trucker himself and loved being on the road, but his step monster told him he had to come back and work in the café like his father would’ve wanted. His step monster was an awful woman who didn’t keep her hands to herself where it comes to Ziggy. The highlight of Ziggy‘s weeks was the fact that there was a trucker called Harry that stopped and they would hook up. But Ziggy was having feelings for Harry, but he kept them to himself. Harry Myles was one of the triplets who had their own trucking business and he was on the last leg to get home and he was tired but of course the golden nugget was that he would see Ziggy. But this evening changed everything because what he saw he didn’t like. Ziggy looked thin and he had bruises on his body. Harry wasn’t about to leave him there. So Harry promises him a job within the trucking company, but Ziggy was torn between family commitment and living his dream and that dream included Harry would he leave with Harry? Or would his promise to his father keeping him as the cook? These two have got a strong connection strong passion. they really are made for each other. I’ve got to say, I really enjoyed this read.

This is the first book I have read from Cooper McKenzie. I really enjoyed this book. Ziggy had a rough life living with his stepmother. He made a wish on a shooting star for someone to save him from the life he was in. Along came Harry who had become his l0ver and his saving grace. Will they have a relationship besides having hookups? What does his stepmother do to him? Does he ever get away from the crazy woman? Let's finish reading to find out!

Another "Myles" taken
Written by SMK9 on 19th Apr 2025

This was a fantastic follow up to the first book of the series. Unlike Brogan and Shepherd, Ziggy and Harry had been "meeting up" for 6 months. So, they already knew each other a little before taking it out of insta-love range. The Ziggy character is so sweet and loyal to the point that he is fading away. Harry is the second driver for Myles to Go Trucking and drives the purple truck. He is much like Brogan in his dedication to his family, friends and driving. I loved how he took charge but also gave Ziggy the choice of staying or going with him. He also gave him the control when it came to their physical relationship too. This allowed him to not feel pressured and could come to the same conclusion Harry had about their future. The other thing I enjoyed is that the villain did not get away with anything like Shep's father did. This one may have paid the price for their deception and horrible actions. I was cheering for it so that Ziggy could finally be free. Now is time for Sam to get his HEA. With how he is the non-driver of the trio, his man will have to come to him.....maybe.

The Truckstop
Written by stardragon on 19th Apr 2025

Ziggy’s father died 6 months ago and since then his life has been tormented by his step-mother. He works sixteen hours a day as a cook at his father’s truck stop. Ever three weeks Harry Myles stops on his way home with his purple big rig. Both Ziggy and his father drove truck, Ziggy like spending time talking to Harry when he’s there. This story is interesting, it has a crazed stepmother, a honorable truck driver, overworked/abused Ziggy also a rescue, romance, love and happy ending.
