“With this blood I summon thee, Lucifer Morningstar, Fallen One, King of Hell, Bringer of Light, and Master of Truth.” My voice is strong and unwavering as I chant alone in the middle of the forest. “Come to me on this Hallowed Eve, grant me your favor! Grant me my desires!” The lush forest falls silent as the candles of my circle are extinguished by a timely gust of brisk autumn wind.
I hold my breath, shivering in my simple white slip-dress beneath my black velvet cloak. The shadows loom and stretch around me, distorted by the dappled moonlight, reaching with gnarled fingers as if to ensnare the unwary.
For most, Halloween is nothing more than an excuse to overindulge in candy, wear risqué costumes, and run-amok … but for me it’s so much more. Tonight represents sacred tradition, a duty passed down from mother to daughter since the time of the infamous Salem Witch Trials. The foremother of our line paid with blood and flesh to save us all, to grant us protection, and to ensure we had a future beyond the cruelty and barbarism of those dark days.
The world has changed, and continues to change, but religious zealots still exist, and bigots of all kinds ravage the world with their hate-mongering. Inciting fear and panic among the masses on a daily basis, they ruthlessly corrupt from their untouchable positions of authority. And so, the truth remains that people have in fact not changed at all. Not really. The ill-informed are still as easily led, and stupid as sheep. They’ll flock to the first false shepherd to promise prosperity, and rid them of their supposed enemies. And history has proven that time and time again my kind often fall prey to being viewed as just such an enemy.
And that’s why I stand here tonight in my ceremonial circle of salt and flame, pantless and ready for what is to come. I must make the same sacrifice my forebears have made over the centuries if I am to ensure the renewal of our powers, and the safety of my great family. These powers I speak of are no sham. They are real, a gift from the Dark Lord, himself. All he asks in return is our fealty and love—quite literally. Soon, I will know the fiery touch of the Devil, and experience the depths of his depraved and infernal desires for myself.
The candles unexpectedly relight, bursting into flames one by one, until the circle is complete once more. A great fire erupts from the center of my makeshift altar on the forest floor, the flames spiraling upon themselves in a flurry, as if caught up in a great hurricane. The heat and wind buffets me, and I shield my eyes as the brightness diminishes.
There can be no mistaking the horrifyingly beautiful beast that now stands before me on cloven feet. His pitch-black eyes gleam with the eternal darkness of the Abyss, like unholy jewels nestled into the face of an angel, his form more perfect than any likeness ever carved by the hands of man. Great curling horns like those of a ram sprout from his head—adding to his already unnatural height—and black hair spirals to his shoulders, drawing my attention to his long, braided goatee.
My breath catches in my throat as my gaze drops one painstaking inch at a time, drinking in the magnificence of his broad shoulders, chiseled abs, and the definition of the famed Triangle of Adonis that leads to the forbidden treasure resting beneath the silky black fur that covers his crotch and monstrous goats’ legs.
“I’ve been expecting you,” says Lucifer, his deep voice husky and full of illicit promise.
“Master,” I breathe, falling to my knees, head bowed.
“What is your name, girl?”
Swallowing the urge to whimper, I clear my throat and raise my voice to just above a whisper. “It’s Willow Wildes, Master. Daughter of Lily, granddaughter of Abigail.”
“Ah, yes,” he says. “I remember them most fondly. Each more than earned their power.” Lucifer pauses a moment, before squatting and lifting my chin with a long, curved claw. “And now you seek your own power,” he says. “As the women of your line have done for some three-hundred years.”
I tremble as I gaze into the eternity of his dark eyes. “Yes, Master. I have come to offer you blood and flesh in return for your favor, just as Sarah did so long ago.”
“You are a unique beauty, Willow Wildes,” he says thoughtfully. “I have not seen this for over a hundred years.” Raising my chin further, he brushes away errant strands of my blood-red hair to examine my face. “One blue, and one green, for the sky above and the earth below. Most intriguing.”
“It’s a condition. We call it heterochromia,” I whisper.
“It is a good and rare omen,” the Devil interjects. “It bodes well for you, my pretty. To be different is a gift in and of itself. To wear your difference with pride, and stand apart from others as unique takes courage.”
“I only ask for that which my foremothers were given,” I say as he rises.
“I cannot give you the powers of your foremothers,” he answers, looking down upon me.
Fear and sudden panic surge in the pit of my stomach, bringing with it the sour taste of bile. I wring my hands in my lap in an effort to contain my nerves and maintain my self-control. Dare I question the Dark Lord? I lick my lips, my gaze fixed on his cloven hooves. “Have I offended you, Master?”
“No, child.”
Heart racing, I feel like I’m going to be sick. “Am I unworthy?”
“Far from it.”
“Then why?” I ask, looking up to gaze upon his flawless face backlit against the bright moon.
“You have been marked for greatness, Willow. I cannot give you that which I have given your foremothers because you are destined to have much greater powers.”
“Greater?” The word tumbles from my lips unbidden in wonder.
“Much greater,” he emphasizes.
With chaotic butterflies in my belly, I place my hands on my knees—palms facing up in submission and obedience—and hold his gaze as boldly as I’m able. “Ask of me what you will, Master, and it will be yours.”
What did I just read!!!???? I have always wondered about the supernatural but this takes it to a whole nother level. Not only does it give a way that powers are passed down but it tells of how long Lucifer/Satan has been "honored". All I can say is wooow!!!!
I really enjoyed this short, steamy read. It was about a witch who gave herself to Lucifer in order to gain her powers. She ends up becoming his second wife and ends up in the underworld where things get even more crazy. Great short read!
I picked up this short story out of curiosity mostly and because I enjoyed other stories from the author so I figured I’d give it a try. Boy, am I glad I did! It was unexpected and brilliant. I expected the focus of the story to be on the dark sensual erotic side. Imagine my surprise and absolute delight when I realized how well-written the rest was. The “religious” philosophy integrated was my favorite. I could not put it down! I recommend this to everyone who would like a short erotic read with a side of heresy and philosophy. It is probably not the best read for a lunch break… enjoy it with a glass of wine instead, to mix perfectly with the dark and the sensual of the story.
Willow is a witch whose line was spared the Salem witch trials by Satan. Ever since, every witch has given a donation of blood and love to Satan in exchange for powers to protect them, but this year, Willow’s donation and reward are … a bit more. This short story is perfectly filthy and wonderfully dark, with so much steam - I loved it! Faedra Rose always brings the spice and the dark with her stories; this one was just perfect.
This was like monster smut on steriods. The Devil with a witch who just waned her powers. It was a great read and cast some different light on things.
I enjoyed this book, the spice flavor was right up my alley. The scenes with Willow and the Devil were good.
This was a very interesting book. The way that the author tells the story is very compelling. I like the different perspective it gives you. The love story is beautiful and the spice is very intense. I really enjoyed this book and I will be reading more from this author.
Oh my goodness this book is so seriously hot my kindle literally set itself on fire! The story is unlike I’ve ever read and I was honestly gutted when I got to the last page. I would so love to find there was a series made out of this book. The details in the book are amazing and it really makes the story so worth reading. Yes it’s mostly based on the night Willow first meets Lucifer and in a way it’s a shame what happens afterwards only takes up a tiny fraction of the book, because it’s so very good and I loved it. However that in no way detracts from just how hot and steamy this book is.
This is a very enjoyable and quick read. The story line and characters are well written and it holds you attention throughout.

This is the second book I've read written by Faedra Rose; I can’t wait to read more of her books. This is the third book in the Loving Monsters Series; it is a stand-alone short story. The story is about Willow & the Devil. I received a free copy of this book via booksprout and I’m voluntarily leaving a review.
Willow is ready to pledge her soul, her devotion and her love to Lucifer just like the witches in her family before her. All hallows eve and a summoning bring forth this large but breathtaking being who may just wish to give Willow something more than the others. This was incredibly hot and definitely up my street. I loved the way with words the author had and though some of the descriptions were abrupt in a way, it was ultimately too intriguing to put down. I loved the unexpected emotion pulsing through it and it managed to warm me with its ending. A delight that has to be read preferably in bed late at night for those who wish to slumber with happy thoughts. It definitely made this gothic chick overcome.
This story is interesting and oddly creative story where deals are made and the weird comes out for All Hallows' Eve. It is the third in the "Loving Monsters" series but reads as a stand alone one. This one is VERY interesting and out there just like the previous two. It is a very short and quick read, that is extremely steamy. A deal is made with the devil and his is enamored with his Red Queen.
Hot as hell itself! Every book I read by this author gives me goosebumps, not only do I like the scenes, which between Willow and Devil are incredibly hot. But I love the dialogues and the creativity that surrounds the world that the author creates. So good!
Willow, a witch from a long line of witches, summons the Devil to offer herself to him in exchange for dark powers. Lucifer senses a greatness in Willow like no other witch and offers her untold powers when she finds beauty in even his true, darkest form, as well as his more ‘beautiful’ satyr and angelic forms, with each form having differing eggplants. Ultra-hot and steamy dark sexy erotic romance. This is the Devil, not a sexy demon, so you need be open minded about monstrous lovers and their intentions.
Faedra Rose is becoming my favorite author for really spicy books and telling great stories!!! I love her characters and worlds she creates. This book was about a witch and the devil she summoned. I enjoy reading about witches and loved the detail the author went into with this book. This book didn’t disappoint either. The characters were well written and complex. The story was captivating and had me turning pages to see what happened next. I love the storyline. It was exciting, and had just the right amount of heat. I read this book in one day because I couldn’t put it down.
Oh the Devil does take centre stage in this fab short and oh-so-unapologetically smutty and brilliant quick novella. Faedra Rose is fast becoming a fave of mine with these entertaining gems. So the story - Willow, a witch, meet the devil on Halloween - hello one hot Hallow's Eve. Whether you want something to read to get you in the mood or just to trick your brain into thinking your life is as s#xually fulfilling as these two have - it's a great read.
If you are okay with a reinterpretation of Christian icons then you will love the story. Very creative twisted unique retelling of god, Fallen angels, and the end of times. There is a lot of story packed into a very short read. The main characters are very interesting and very well crafted. The sex is creatively different and moderately described. I would definitely recommend this book to the open-minded.

Willow is from a long line of witches and comes to pledge herself to Lucifer. This is a quick dark, sexy and steamy story with a nice HEA and is a perfect Sunday afternoon read.
This was another fun and hot story for the series and I have to say that the author brought all the heat to this one ;P This story brings together Willow and the Devil. He had a total of four different forms, each with different, um, equipment, and yep, he used them all to keep Willow very happy. Lol! I'm definitely enjoying the uniqueness of this series ;D
This book was definitely unexpected!! I had no idea it was going to be on the dark side of witches. Although, it is important to point out that I enjoyed the book and the characters within. Great world building and great characters with a whole lot a spicy steam!!
I enjoyed how fast pace and easy this read was, while still giving us everything we want from a sweaty spicy scene. Its the second book in this series I've read this month and I'll be going to read the other one no doubt!
