House of Ink, 2

Luke has built the life he’s always dreamed of. His tattoo parlor is thriving, his co-owners are his closest friends, and everything feels perfect—until it all comes crashing down.

Abigail is a newly divorced single mom, struggling to adjust to her new reality. She never expected to cross paths with someone like Luke. But when he enters her life, it’s exactly when she needs him most.

Their connection is instant, intense, and undeniable, but love isn’t always simple. Abigail’s ex-husband isn’t ready to let go, and he’ll do anything to win her back.

Will Luke stand his ground and fight for their blossoming love, or will he let her slip away?

Excerpt:

“Abigail,” I say in shock. “Is something wrong?”

I look down the hallway, but we are the only people on the floor, and I don’t hear Tyler even though I see the monitor hooked onto a loop in her jean shorts.

“No,” she says and shakes her head. “You said if I needed anything else, I could come to you.”

I watch her blush a deep shade of red. That’s interesting. Leaning against the doorjamb I smile at her.

“Sure. What do you need?”

Her gaze is stuck to my chest as she runs her tongue over her bottom lip. “It’s a big thing to ask a virtual stranger and I want you to know you can say no. I won’t be angry or offended.”

“I can’t answer if you don’t ask,” I cut in with a chuckle.

She finally looks at my face, tilting her chin up and straightening her back.

“I need a fuck buddy.” The words fall from her pouty lips without hesitation.

“Jesus wept, woman!” I grab her hand and pull her into my apartment, slamming the door shut. “You can’t just say shit like that where anyone can hear you.”

“Why not?” she asks, glancing at me from beneath her lashes.

“Because I don’t need anyone knowing our business.”

I push her against the wall, caging her in with my arms. Then I do what I’ve wanted to do all day, and I kiss her.

Her taste explodes across my senses, and I can’t help but take more from her. Soft, full lips pressed against mine, a breathy moan shaking me to my foundation. With a single kiss, she rocks my world and my soul to the core. And she doesn’t even know it. My cock is hardened lead in my jeans and I want to bend her over the nearest available surface and make her scream my name. Lust courses through and I fight to keep any semblance of control.

I may not understand it, or even be able to explain it, but I do know that my world and my life are changing rapidly. Instead of wanting to hold back or run from the unknown feelings she awakens in me, I allow myself to free-fall into whatever the hell this is.

Written by BreenRB on 24th May 2025

“Luke was hero simply as that, it pretty much sums up all. What a beautiful dedication of the author, indeed they are heroes just like Luke with Tyler. A beautiful story about second chance at love, family and loving yourself. Abi was also a great mom and incredible sweet person. No doubt Luke and Abi are a perfect couple.”

So so good!
Written by Shelly44 on 24th May 2025

So so good! I read the first novel in the series and loved it! This novel didn't disappoint. I think this may be my favorite of the series so far. I love a tattooed hero and Luke did not disappoint. From the first chapter this novel sucked me in and held on tight until the very last page. My heart hurt for Abigail. She is a divorced single mom who is struggling to do the best for her baby. I loved Luke and Abigail's story. Their chemistry is so good. I loved watching Abigail lower her defenses and her walls and open her heart to luke and watch them fall in love. So so good! I can hardly wait to see what this author has coming next. Loved it!

Luke and Abbi
Written by skgillman29 on 24th May 2025

I asked for more in the series and got it tenfold. After reading book one, I just knew that I was in love with the characters of Franklinton, LA, and the House of Ink. This book two starred part owner and tattoo extraordinaire Luke. It picks up right where book one ended, with Luke meeting his new and neighbor, Abigail. She is a nine month, newly divorced young woman, from the big city, with a crying 24/7 three month old baby. Luke shows up at Abigail's door, minus a shirt, and pounding on Abbi's door after another long night of no sleep. He's cranky to say the least, and Abbi, whose at her wits end, breaks out in tears. So what does Abbi do next(?), she forcibly hands over her baby, Tyler, to Luke and to both their surprise he stops his crying. After a night, or maybe day, of them all getting at least eight hours of sleep, Abigail meets Luke on more friendlier terms and wanting more of him in more ways then one since sex has been previously non-existent for her for the past 13 months. Luke also likes what he sees in Abigail. He knows the hardships of growing up with only his mom and sister, and the need to help Abbi, as well as, see more of her, grows to be more. This was such a great romantic novella, with all feels a great character crossover from book one that I love. The banter between everyone is fantastic. Little Tyler steals the show with his first visit to House of Ink. He's left in Luke's, Alistair's, and Hailey's supposedly capable hands while Skye whisks off with Abigail, Franklinton's soon to be new veterinarian. Right on cue Tyler breaks out crying and three adults turn frantic and the laughter continued. This addition to the series was short but oh so sweet. It amazes me how so much wonderful story was pact in this lovely short read. I'm looking forward to more of the characters I've instantly taken a liken to in and keeing my fingers crossed that there will be more in the series.

A fun read
Written by Izzy N on 24th May 2025

This is an easy and fun read even though some of the topics covered are more serious. I like the style of the writing which is easy to engage with as a reader. The setting being partially in a tattoo parlour also adds another interesting element to the storyline. The characters are likeable and their friendships and relationships are engaging and entertaining to read about. I love some of the side characters and hope we see more of them in future books. I am looking forward to reading more by this author in the future.

Luke and Abigail
Written by BeckyS68 on 24th May 2025

Abigail starts anew in a different city after her husband leaves her for another woman. She meets Luke due to her baby's constant crying, which has kept him awake for a week. This is such a great book. It offers a second chance for love that Abigail didn't think was possible and Luke never dreamed of. There is minimal drama but plenty of steam. I enjoyed this short read and will definitely be rereading it again.

This is the second story in the "House of Ink" series. It can be enjoyed as a stand alone read. It does have connected characters, small town and a tattoo parlor. This story is about Abigail, Luke and Tyler. Luke is a tattoo artist and part owner in the tattoo parlor. He has not had a decent sleep since his new neighbors moved in. Abbi, is exhausted, overwhelmed and frustrated. She cannot seem to calm or soothe Tyler, her baby who is crying. She hears someone knocking on the door, expecting it to be her ex, she opens. She is shocked to see a sexy beast of a man, who is complaining about the noise and crying. She breaks down crying, what Luke does next is so sweet. I enjoyed this story and love the characters. The banter in this story is so much fun. Luke and Abbi are perfect for each other.

Abby is a single mom having divorced her husband, and just moved into a new apartment. She has a new baby that is having a problem sleeping, she is at her breaking point, when her neighbor knocks on the door. Luke is tired and the incessant crying is about to send him over the edge. When he grabs the baby from Abby, he instantly quiets and goes to sleep. Luke was not looking for a ready made family but there is something about the two them that warms his heart. This sweet, steamy and short read. The characters chemistry is there from the first.

Luke and Abigail are hilarious together. Luke has been losing sleep ever since his new neighbor moved next door. He knows it’s not his fault but he’s tired. What started out as a PSA becomes a bond neither were looking for or prepared for. This book is full of fun banter, spicy fun and the importance of finding your one. It’s got the best side characters and an HEA that’s sooo incredibly sweet

This book is so many things including hard to put down and a very fast read!! The not so slow burn that started this book into spicy and romance filled read!! The characters are very well written with lots of caring and compassion between them, not to forget that Luke steps up to the plate in a big way by telling Abigail he wants more than just a f**k buddy!! From that point on their relationship blooms and somehow, beyond their wildest dreams, Abigail and Luke come together with Tyler to make a happy family. Inked soul
Written by MafiaWife on 24th May 2025

He has been alone for a long time concentrating on his business. He isn’t looking for anything when the curvy single mom moves in next-door. There is something about her and her baby that seems to like sleeping on his chest. He wasn’t looking for something but now that he’s found it he’s not letting it go. She is picking up the pieces of her imploded life, and not looking to find a man after being so terribly betrayed. She can’t deny that the hot hunky tattoo artist next-door is sneaking under her defenses. Whose ovaries wouldn’t explode watching a big, burly man cradle in infant on his bare chest. The way he quietly stepped in and the way he looks at her is enough to make your toes curl and your panties melt. He is pretty much everything you’re looking for in a book boyfriend. They get spicy and it’s very steamy. The series has been a great little read and I can’t wait to see what comes next, selfishly hoping for updates on previous characters as I am invested.

Written by Kimmer555 on 24th May 2025

Luke and Abigail totally exceeded my expectations! What a great read in book 2 of House of Ink! Luke is such a sweet, adorable softie that finds his person in Abigail. He was everything she didn't know she wanted or needed! Abigail hasn't had the best luck in relationships so when she only wants the benefit part of it, Luke is quick on the draw to let her know he wants so much more! So much to love and the journey we get to go on with them is perfection! The characters, the story, and the moments along the way! Such a great read!

I have been waiting for this book since I read the first book of the Series House of Ink and it has exceeded my expectations. It was so much fun to read about the other people I fell in love with from the first book and now Luke is definitely the one character I wanted to read. Nothing sexier than a shirtless man who holds your baby and calms him down and puts him to sleep. The chemistry was hot and spicy and the way Luke turns into a big softie when he meets the woman that is meant for him was so fun to read. I started this book and couldn't put it down. I enjoyed every moment of this adventure. I cannot wait to read the next one. These just keep getting better and better!!!

Written by Nivlocte on 24th May 2025

This was a heartwarming read that followed Luke and his new neighbor, Abigail. There was definitely some steam between the two, but it's an extremely short book/quick read, so everything progressed very quickly between the two of them. While I enjoyed the story, it just didn't have the excitement of book one.

Short and Sweet-Inked Soul
Written by T. Roberts on 24th May 2025

Single mom. Single neighbor who owns a business. He decides to do the neighborly thing and help her. She tells him what she wants and he’s happy to oblige because he wants her too! Fmc is strong and brave and isn’t afraid to say what she wants. Mmc is kind, respectful and considerate. When he talks to Tyler my heart just melted. What man does that? It’s so sweet and endearing. And this story just gets better from there. There’s mild drama and after that their relationship really begins. I loved this quick read and would definitely recommend it. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Fun and spicy insta-love romance with all the feels
Written by LBing on 24th May 2025

This was another great read for the series and I loved seeing Luke step up and be exactly what Abigail needed. She's had the short stick on relationships but the more time she spends with Luke, the more she comes out of her shell. She may have approached him to be all about the 'benefits' but he was quick to let her know he wanted to so much more with her. I was thrilled how this unfolded for these wonderful characters and can't wait for the next book :D

Score for Love.
Written by A.K. Shaw on 24th May 2025

Inked Soul is the second book in the House of Ink series. It is a bit of a love at first sight kind of story but it makes sense. Luke makes a girl wonder if there are any real life men like him in existence in this galaxy. It was also nice that the tattoo artists are good people and not running something shady or criminal in addition to the tattoo business as you find in many stories that feature tattoo artists. With down to earth caring characters, a cute and entertaining storyline, steaminess, romance, a little drama and humor, and an adorable happily ever after, Inked Soul is a book you will not want to put down. The story will put a smile on your face and give you hope for love.

Luke (the baby whisperer) and Abigail (single mum) meet in strange circumstances. She’s divorced, abandoned by her ex-husband, while Luke is a tattoo artist with a serious case of OCD. Their interactions are so natural and I love how they developed their relationship. This opposites-attract short read had a great mix of humour, emotional depth, seriousness and steam. The pace was lightning fast, and oh boy was it steamy! He fell first, but she wasn’t far behind. I enjoyed it - a short read taking about and hour or so.
