“That was fucking amazing!”
Finn’s words echoed in Kaden’s head—he’d thought the same thing. When Kaden tried to push past him, Finn grabbed his arm, but he shook it off .
‟What’s the rush?”
He needed to get to her.
Looking at Finn, he almost shouted, ‟Gotta go, talk to you later.”
“Don’t be an idiot. You heard what the others said.” Finn’s deep voice held no understanding.
“This is different. I have to go.”
She was leaving as he shouted “no.” He left Finn looking sadly at him, then took the stairs two at a time, but there was no sign of her. She must have gone into the changing room.
‟Damn.”
Kaden sat on the bottom stair, resting his head on his hands. Maybe she’d come out. He waited at least fifteen minutes, then got to his feet, heading into the foyer.
Speaking to Stan, he asked, ‟Did a woman leave in the last ten minutes?”
‟Only Nerida.”
‟Damn! You mean she’s gone?”
‟Yeah. Why?”
‟I wanted to speak with her.”
Stan laughed. ‟You and at least half the club, my friend. You’ve got no chance.”
Kaden looked at Stan. ‟What d’you mean?”
‟Just that. At least half the members who’ve seen her act want to get to know her, but she avoids all contact. Just ask Ash—he’s been trying to talk to her since she started, but except for her initial interview with Olivia, I’ve heard no one’s been able to have a conversation with her.”
‟No one?” Stan shook his head.
Kaden sighed. ‟That’s what they told me, but I thought… Okay, thanks, Stan.”
Disappointed to have missed her, and with what Stan had told him, Kaden went back into the club. Sophie still sat in the lounge and was alone, so Kaden threw himself onto a couch alongside her.
‟Hi, Kade. Did you see the performance?”
‟Yeah.”
“You don’t sound too happy.”
‟She left.”
‟She always does.”
Kaden stared at Sophie, a little confused. ‟I wonder why?” He gave a soft groan. “I only wanted to talk to her, but I missed her.”
Sophie looked at Kaden, her gaze softening. ‟Don’t get your hopes up about Nerida. I don’t think she wants contact with anyone. So many of us have tried, but as we told you, she rejects all overtures. She’ll respond with ‘hello’ when we say it, but that’s it. She’s never initiated a conversation—or even a ‘hi.’”
Kaden shook his head. ‟You don’t understand, Sophie—there’s something special about her, something meant for me.”
‟Oh, Kade.” There was a tinge of sadness in Sophie’s voice. She touched his arm. “You’re just caught up in the mystery.”
‟No, I’m not. I can’t explain it but I know she’s important to me.”
Sophie sighed softly. ‟I hope you won’t get too disappointed when she continues ignoring you.”
‟I’ll find a way, I will.”
Kaden and Nerida are both members of Silk Rope and both are attracted to the other when they meet. Nerida fights the attraction but he isn't ready to give up on her. Will Nerida finally give in to what she feels for Kaden and see what they could have together?
Totally recommend. Amazing storyline with lots of awesome steamy scenes. Multi layered characters. Some secrets, drama, and suspense. Author did a great job telling these characters story. This book pulled me in in the first chapter and never let me go.
I was completely drawn in and captivated by these well matched characters who had a passion and sizzling chemistry and attraction that entertained for a worthy read
I liked the chemistry between the two MCs. It was so interesting to see how someone with autism might try to interact with others. Kaden is smitten instantly with Nerida but she rebuffs him every time. He is persistent and finally wins the girl. I liked that this was an later in life love story with someone dealing with being neurodivergent. I highly recommend this to all romance readers who like their books slightly different.
I really, really enjoyed this book. I have several family members who are neurodivergent. So I really appreciate it how this book dealt with the topic. I appreciated that everything wasn't rainbows and sunshine. I love Kaden and Nerida. I could have done without the loss of Erik because it sent me Interest viral crying so hard that I had to take a break from reading.
Kade and Nerida attend the same club and they are both drawn to each other, however they face challenges and it takes sometime and care for them to develop their relationship. There was great chemistry and steam, strong friendships, beautiful dogs and good times, but also drama, tears and angst. It was a perfect love story, in the characters imperfections. While part of a series and has other characters that I assumed featured in the previous books, I hadn't read them and I easily read this as a standalone. This is the first book I have read by Suzy Shearer and I will definitely be looking out for others to read.
This is the fifth story in the "Silk Rope Masters" series. It is a stand alone read but has connected characters and a connected club. This story is about Kaden and Nerida. This plot and the stories characters are a bit different but a beautiful and touching story. Kaden, is a master of the club with a specialty in the art of erotic bondage. Nerida has a form of autism and performs on her own, never taking a partner. When these two set eyes on each other their worlds collide which starts them on a very special journey of discovery, passion and more. The characters are strong and likable. The plot is interesting and intriguing with a touch of suspense.
Kaden is Book 5 in the Silk Rope Masters series. It's a steamy, opposites-attract, later in life, somewhat kinky romance. Kaden is a 55 year old hunky, charming, and playful erotic bandage master. Nerida is a 54 year old, sweet, beautiful, artistic, and autistic female who goes to the same sex adult club as Kaden. She performs solo and always leaves after. She and Kaden are very drawn to each other, but Nerida, being autistic, sees the world differently and handles emotions differently. She pushes Kaden away, and he gets frustrated when he's told by master Ash that he can't approach her. This was a sweet, messy, and slightly kinky love story. I loved watching them learn, adapt, and grow with each other. There were tears and angst, but also a lot of steam, hot chemistry, and a happy ending. I loved it so much. Suzy writes these older, beautifully imperfect perfect characters that you can't help but fall in love with.
I enjoyed reading Nerida and Kaden’s story in Kaden by Suzy Shearer. Kaden is infatuated by Nerida when he first sees her but she’s scared of him. He wants to get to know her and show her she has nothing to be scared of. Over time Nerida realizes that Kaden isn’t bad and won’t hurt her. They spend more and more time together and she finds she really likes him but she’s scared worries that her condition will scare him off.
A good page turner. I loved how Kadan is so protective of Nerida. They both fall fast and hard. She has austin, My first book by Suzy Shearer and not my last,
This is a wonderful story, Kaden and Nerida are both older and the journey they take together was a pleasure to read. Nerida doesn't have it easy, they both work in the same club but Nerida does her own thing, she performs, doesn't talk to anyone and then disappears from the scene. Kaden on the other hand is a master in the art of erotic bondage and as soon as he sets his eyes on her their journey begins. It is a beautiful story with enough hot and sexy scenes and definitely worth reading.
I have loved this series -each and every story is great--this one is not different. I loved all the small twist and turns that kept you hooked up in this story for sure. This series and this book is a total must read. Super spicy and steamy.
Nerida goes to the club and performs to help herself but doesn't interact with anyone afterwards. Kaden sees her and feels a pull so he tries various ways to start to be with her. Nothing works until they connect over their love of dogs. Their adventures start from here. This is a wonderful story about two people who work at getting to know each other as they are. Thank you Suzy Shearer for writing about neurodivergent people and making us root for them to have a relationship as themselves. It is a wonderful reminder of how wonderfully different we all are!
Kaden is given the shock of his life when he spots Nerida at the club. The draw to each other was huge but Nerida’s reaction to him surprised and scared her. As an individual with ASD she has a history of not having much luck with dating or relationships. Their meet cute was so not cute but when then run into each other they connect. This love story is so full of surprises and has an emotional depth that is amazing. Absolutely loved their journey to happiness and their naughty exploits too
I adored this story - Kaden and Nerida are wonderful together and I just love how patient and tender Kaden is to Nerida. She may have been reluctant and too shy to get into a relationship but his persistence and making her needs a priority really won me over. Fabulous!
Kaden is the 5th book in the Silk Rope Masters series, but can be read as a standalone. The empathetic and eye-opening portrayal of Nerida's reality coupled with Kaden's determination to let nothing stand in the way of their love, make this a wonderful story, not easy-to-read but very rewarding. I enjoyed the cameo appearances of the previous Masters and their partners as well as the adorable four-legged characters. There's a very well-deserved HEA and I'm looking forward to the next story.
I kept wondering when we'd see Kaden grow up, and boy did he. He spied Nerida at the club and his life changed. Nerida is autistic and because of it she is frightened to get involved with the club members at Silk Rope. Kaden is determined to get to know her despite all the obstacles in the way. The way Ms Shearer handled the emotional aspect and gave an insight into ASD made this book one of her best. She gave us a tiny view of a world I never really understood. What I absolutely love about this book is not only the characters are in their 50s but I loved the way Kaden accepted Nerida's autism without reservation. It is the perfect love story.
