The Glorious Guild of Lady Windsurfer, 1

The year is 2112, and the world has changed…

Jake Landry is interested in having some fun. He’s in Las Vegas, newly single and just off his most recent tour of duty. In Vegas he has met up with his old friend Nicola Goodheart, a scientist and inventor who studies portals, other worlds, and strange beings. Jake has also met and become enamored with Alexander, a gorgeous man with violet eyes. Jake goes with Nic on a portal finding mission, and they all end up in Alexander’s alien world.

Recruiter Alexander Bloodworth is interested in Jake for himself and in Nicola for placement in a pleasure house on his home planet of Aurath. When he hears word one of his people’s enemies are after Nicola and Jake, he goes to save them both, even at the peril of losing his job.

Will they risk their hopes and dreams—Alexander and Jake for a chance at love and Nicola for her career—or will they falter and lose everything anyway?

Be Warned: m/m sex

Excerpt:

“Frottage?”

Pleased the color started to return to Alexander’s skin, Jake smiled and rubbed Alexander’s arm, loving the way his brow knit together when he became perplexed. “It’s also known as dry humping or sex without penetration. We can rub and grind on each other to achieve an orgasm. It’ll get us over the hump.” He chuckled. “No pun intended. It’ll get us by until we’re where we have access to protection.”

“Sounds acceptable to me.” Alexander captured Jake’s mouth in another kiss and the only time he stopped kissing him was to pull Jake’s shirt over his head.

They mimicked each other’s touches—running their hands up each other’s smooth chests, tracing the dips and curves of their muscles, enticing nipples. When Alexander latched onto one of Jake’s hard nubs, Jake sucked in a stream of air. Alexander’s lips on his body were like heaven and hell. Heaven because their silky touch sent delightful vibes through him, and hell because whenever Alexander trailed down toward his pulsing cock, he didn’t take it in his mouth or lick or kiss it.

“Come on, Alexander. Quit teasing me.”

“What do you want me to do? I want to hear it. Tell me.”

Alexander’s rumbling commands sent more heat racing through Jake’s veins and down into his cock. Jake didn’t know his dick could get harder than it already was, but it had. He gazed straight into the alien’s stormy purple eyes. “I want you, Alexander. I want you to take me in that beautiful mouth of yours. I want you to suck me dry.”

The alien rose from the couch and towered over Jake before he dropped to his knees in front of him. Alexander reached out and grabbed the top of Jake’s pants, then yanked them down and off his body. Jake’s cock stood, bobbing to and fro as he resettled on the couch.

“Spread your legs, Jake.”

Light Easy Read
Written by Sarah on 8th Dec 2014

I was given a copy in exchange for an honest review. This was a great m/m romance. I thought it was super sweet and relatable that despite it being the future Alexander was still under pressure from his family and struggling with a lack of acceptance for his lifestyle. Jake was in a very different position with everyone in his life accepting him for who he was, but at the same time he was nursing a broken heart when he meets Alexander. Their relationship was cute and mostly conflict free which made for a pleasant read. The only complaint I would have was Jake's BFF Nic. I think a lot of her antics were intended to be comic relief but honestly she was just annoying.

Great new read! Loved this book
Written by Miss Heidi - on 29th Nov 2014

This is a very fun, sexy, dystopian adventure. I couldn't get enough! I really loved the characters and the story. The book is set in the twenty second century, in 2112. Earth has been through a huge war, and countries are now keeping to themselves. It is more like a blend of future and old west. Fossil fuel is extremely hard to come by, so people use steam power and horse carriages. The land has changed a lot. With the melting polar caps and the ravages of war, places like Florida, Houston, New Orleans are gone. Las Vegas is now a wetter area, and it is one of the few places with power because of the Colorado River. The casinos are still there, and people still flock to gamble. Nicola Goodheart is a scientist and explorer. She is always studying something, and now she has heard that there might be a portal to another planet. She is hoping to study it and write a scientific paper on her findings. She is wondering if there is a link between the portals and women going missing. She was raised with survivalist training, and her adventurous spirit cannot be quelled. Captain Jake Landry isn't doing so hot. He has just gotten out of the military, and his boyfriend dumped him while he was stationed apart from him. He had made plans to spend time in Las Vegas with Shawn, but since the rat had taken his reservation even after dumping him, he needs some R & R. Turning the tables, he used Shawn's money to get another room. His day is brightened when he hears from his best friend Nicola that she is also in Las Vegas, and they plan to meet. Alexander Bloodworth is an alien from Aurath. His job is to recruit women from other planets to come to his and work in the brothels. They do this because the bloodlines cannot be messed with by an out of wedlock child. As humans are very similar to his people, they work well because they cannot get pregnant from the aliens. They are treated very well, and they usually know what is going on because they are recruited from the assistance houses they have set up on Earth. Alex also likes his job because it keeps him away from his father, the Governor, who keeps trying to marry him off. Alex prefers men, and on his planet, it is illegal to be with a man. Jake has settled at the bar, and after spotting his ex, he is ready to let loose. He meets the sexy Alex, and plans to see him soon, after he has met with Nicola. Nicola has found someone to take her to the portal, and Jake tags along to protect her, even though she does not need it. Trouble comes their way when the bad aliens decide they want the two for their own. When Alex intervenes, they get a huge wake up call when they escape to space. Alex and Jake are very attracted to each other, but Nicola wants nothing to do with working on a new planet. Trouble follows them across the galaxy, and the three of them have an amazing adventure. This book is super hot, and Jake and Alex burn up the pages. Nicola's feisty attitude adds to the adventure, and the ride is a blast. I could not put this book down and I have read it multiple times already. It is a fun story line set in a very interesting future. I can't wait to see what might come next in this series.

Blue Chrysalis Book Prmotions
Written by undefined on 29th Nov 2014

This is certainly a very different, refreshing read for me. The Gathering is an M/M steampunk futuristic dystopian set in 2112. The first I noticed about the world the author created is that it is actually plausible. The world got so messed up, some things had to go back to the ways of the past, like hirse carriages and relying on steam for power. Yet new technologies were also everywhere in this book. Countries changed not only in politics but in landscape as well. These things made the world in this book come alive for me. The attention to detail is stunning and well thought out. The characters are easy to love and relate to. Nicola is a nerdy girl with a n adventurous side. Jake is a heartbroken military man just broken up with his boyfriend and is Nicola's best friend. Alexander an alien who must look for women from other planets for reproduction purposes. He is also gay and loves the fact that his job keeps him away from his father, the Governor, since it is illegal to be with a man in his alien planet. When Nicola finds a portal and Jake decides to go with her, Alex joins them in an incredible intergalactic adventure that is sometimes fun, sometimes nail-biting and definitely oozing sexual tension between Alex and Jake. The more adventures these three find, the hotter the book gets. And I mean HOT! I loved this book and can't wait for the next one.

Love Bites and Silk Ties
Written by Maya on 27th Nov 2014

Alexander is from Aurath and on earth as a recrutier looking for women to place in a brotherl of sorts in his home planet. His eyes are on Nicola as a potential recruit. While in Las Vegas he meets Jake who is recovering from a recent break-up with his long-term partner. I have to say I really connected with Jake. His heartbreak and loneliness really touched me and I totally understood his reluctance to jump in and have a fling with Alexander. He wanted something more lasting. The romance between Jake and Alexander is slow to develop as events take matters out of their hands but it does get there. With all the adventure going on, there were some quirky moments especially around Alexander and his grasp of English language. I had some laugh-out-loud moments. And beside the adventure and humour, this is also a story about these people risking their lives for each other and to find their place in a changing world. I really enjoyed this beautiful futuristic/steampunk gay romance.

Multitasking Mamas
Written by undefined on 27th Nov 2014

This is a dystopic, steam-punk stylized story about three people who find themselves thrust into a situation neither of them expected to be in. No, this is not a menage. What we have is Alexander. He is an Aurath. He comes from a world where women are revered and catered to for they are the bearers of young. What these women do not have are civil rights, but then again, according to this patriarchal society, the women do not want nor seek said rights for they are comfortable and beloved by their men. Unless they are barren. Then they become pleasure providers. Thing is, their men do not find it good their women go through that so they found a way. On Earth, it is a land that is a mix between Mad Max and Waterworld. On one side we have pure barren deserts and the other we have water levels so high they are swallowing whatever land it can. On this land we find Jake Landry and Nicola Goodheart. Both were military trained but have left the service and now find themselves in a sort of limbo. Jake comes home with no one to go home to as his lover had left him for an older bear. Wanting to just peace out, he takes his vacation planned when he was still with his ex. Only his ex had beat him to the vacation and taken his bear. Jake is not to be easily dismissed, he does make a move that can cause his ex to flit but he does not care. And why should he, when he looks up and sees the most desirable man he ever laid his soldier eyes on. Nicola unknowingly gets hunted as a potential pleasure provider for the men of Aurath and Alexander had staked his claim. Then he sets eyes on Jake, who turns out to be Nicola's friend and he wants Jake. He needs to lay claim over Jake. But the Aurath are not allowed to have male partners. And so begins the adventure made up of three unlikely companions. While Alexander and Jake come to terms over their burgeoning relationship, Nicola finds herself out of the loop and resenting her situation on the alien land. She just wants out. Period. When she does find a way, she does not realize that Alexander and Jake may get caught in the middle of a desperate and maybe fatal situation. This really read well but I could not help wonder over a lot of loose ends. Like Jake's family that was touted as over-supportive are not even regarded after the one mention. And what about the lack of action or information on the battle that Alexander ran into after sending Jake home to keep him safe? Or how about Alexander's friends, what are they going to do now that they are on Earth and had assisted Alexander in his flight from home? How about Alexander's powerful father who is governor, what will he think about his son's decision to renege on his duties? I doubt he will leave this alone. I was left to hunger for more information and I hope this is going to become a series. Alexander is just a delicious big alien and Jake is, Jake.
